@Theweakeredge
Mmhm, exactly why they should teach that gay, bi, trans, asexual, etc, etc, and that's it fine for them to be like that (as in normatively fine within the social contract) - those are objective facts.
Schools should teach that people have the freedom to be gay, bi, trans, asexual, etc. and that it's fine that they have the freedom to do this. But our government institutions should NOT impose the belief that it is a moral good for people to do such.

Schools shouldn't take sides on the subject, it bypasses religious and political freedoms through state indoctrination. Instead, the subject should be taught in an objective manner.

While potentially offensive, this thread contains nothing punishable. DART allows humor.

Regarding post #2, while distasteful, the comment is clearly ironic comedy. DART allows humor.

Hello all! I'm thrilled to serve as the new chief moderator for DART!
Now, for a few announcements:
1. In an effort to make the system on DART more clearly reflect who is actually a mod and who isn't, I have spoken to all users that retain admin access in order to ascertain whether they would like to continue serving in an official capacity as mods or retire and relinquish their admin access. I have finished this process, and so I'd like to take this opportunity to announce the finalized mod team lineup under the new administration:
MisterChris, chief moderator
SupaDudz, deputy moderator
Speedrace, forum moderator
Whiteflame, vote moderator
Blamonkey, vote moderator
Ragnar, assistant moderator
David, assistant moderator
Deadfire27, discord moderator
Note the role "Assistant Moderator." This is a role I have created to take advantage of Ragnar and David's experience while accommodating their limited time. As the name suggests, the primary function of an Assistant Moderator is to help wherever it is most required. As such, this role will have the authority to handle forum posts, debate votes, and debate comments, but will likely not act unless the rest of the mod team is overwhelmed or inactive.
2. With this new transition is coming many exciting changes that I will hint at here, but will be proposed more fully in a MEEP down the line.
- In an effort to promote consistent, fair and even-handed moderating practices across the board, the Standardized Policy Enforcement System (SPES for short) I am working on will completely overhaul and systematize banning practices by laying out specific ban times for specific offenses. Moderators will be required to uphold these standards across the board, except in certain freak scenarios that I shall specify.
- Various updates to the information center
- A more formal system & framework surrounding the idea of a DART President. The role would most likely serve as an elected advisor to the mod team and may have limited powers. (This idea is in its infant stages)
3. In keeping with tradition, the new mod team will adopt a "near blank slate" approach in dealing with the offenses of long-time users.

Hey all! I'm looking forward to serving as head moderator while continuing my debate journey. I'll make a slightly more formal statement once this transition is finalized, but for now just know that I genuinely care about DART and am going to do my utmost to keep this site safe, healthy, and enjoyable for all members.
Thanks to Ragnar and David for their dedication to the site, I wish them the best in their future endeavors.

@badger
you realize not everyone blindly ascribes to CRT, correct? So let's, for the sake of argument, say you're correct and it isn't a "punishment." That has no bearing on how it is perceived by the people. Once you force one man at gunpoint to give up something for the "sake" of another he has no relation to, you drive tensions up rather than resolve them. The idea that, even if reparations are "Fair," that they would help resolve racial tensions or do literally anything to quell racism is ludicrously stupid.
That said, reparations are not fair and will never be fair. And they are objectively punishment for being white, regardless of how you word it.
Punishment: "the infliction or imposition of a penalty as retribution for an offense."
The explicit purpose of "reparations" is to right a wrong through a penalty, correct? It is a punishment by definition.
There is no justice in punishing an entire race for the acts of people they had no control over. Your posited antidote is far worse than the sickness.

History does have consequences. Do you know what it tells us? Once you punish one man for another's crime, you've become an evil regime.

can you elaborate on this??

Thinking it balance wise. If Miller were to claim like me then investigative role knows his investigations will always be accurate. Plus idt I’ve ever seen a game where it was just a Miller
Maybe. the investigative role could be nerfed as well.

I think it's unlikely that both Ling and Greed are in this game as separate characters. There was another Greed, but if Ling is here, he's not.
Maybe if this were a larger game I could see Ling and Greed being separate and somehow interconnected role-wise but I have to agree with you in this case.
Pride, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth all play comparatively minor roles, so their likelihood of being here seems pretty small to me.
True, Wrath/King Brad seems to be the big gun.
So if we're just focused on the likelier ones, we still have well over 8.
Yup, and honestly this still isn't the best method of narrowing it down. When creating a mafia game you pair what characters you know of with what mafia roles you know of and try to balance it all. It isn't easy and sometimes you choose weird characters to make it work. That's why I'm not terribly keen on jumping on Pie over his claim as of yet.
I think we need to create a list of PROBABLE and PLAUSIBLE candidates to be more clear.

With Pie's claim, if true, I think the game might be structured roughly this way:
TOWN:
1.COP or JOAT w/ COP function (given since there is a miller)
2. TRACKER/WATCHER?
3. VANILLA?
4. VANILLA?
5. MILLER
6. ???
MAFIA:
1. JOAT maybe?
2. RB, RC?
Here are the roles I think the game only should include knowing Supa and knowing the series:
1. Edward Elric (duh)
2. Alphonse Elric (duh)
3. Winry
4. Ling
5. Mustang
6. Father
7. Van Hohenheim
8. King Bradley (aka Wrath)
9. Scar
10. Mei Chang
11. Pride
12. Lust
13. Greed
14. Envy
15. MAYBE Barry the Chopper since he is pretty memorable.
16. MAYBE Maria Ross because she was central to a pretty memorable part of the story despite being a side character.
Anything else I would deem pretty shady as a claim.

Anyway, thankfully I've seen this show so I can help a bit with possible theme splits. Has Supa disclosed whether this game actually has one?

This whole thing is just goofy, frankly. You can't start promising policy changes and conducting elections without even establishing a framework within which to work. It's just a site popularity poll otherwise. Utterly meaningless. Having a site president could be a good thing, or a bad one, depending on what the function of the role is. We need to decide that foremost. If you all really want a site president, the place to start is drafting a MEEP that would formalize the process and office. The person that takes initiative and does this in a manner satisfactorily enough for me to vote "Yea" on the drafted change has my vote.

To preserve debate integrity, here is a public archive of both R1's of the "Resolved: The European Union should, as a joint policy, discourage its member states from joining the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative." debate that Undefeatable and I are putting on hold to complete at a later date:
If/when we resume the debate, we can cross reference each R1 to ensure that changes have not been made.

Woman age like milk and men age like fine wine is what I would use to describe is philosophy. Women are born with inherent value and men are not. Women control sex and birthing, men control relationships.
I've listened to a lot of Peterson. He's never said anything resembling this, although he has said that there is more pressure for women to have the rest of their lives figured out early before they can no longer have children and are looked down upon. THAT'S reasonable. What's above isn't, and it strikes me as slanderous.
