I really don’t think we should lynch Owen. Sure he isn’t fully town confirmed, but affiliation confirmation is good enough for him not to be the DP1 lynch in my book.

Probably Owen, then Banana. Like Earth said, they’ve both just been kinda coasting.

He has a surprisingly high success rate with his weird schemes, so I’m just going to let him do his thing.

No one seems to be hearing me, so I’ll make one final push and then drop it. Lunatic had some really weird reads, (I recommend that you go back to find them) and he hasn’t been as active as usual. He called pie out for being aggressive but he of all people should know that’s how he plays by now. I’m not saying he should definitely be the lynch, but I think he deserves more attention.

Actually, scratch that, I suppose I scumread Lunatic a bit. Even I would have sus’ed me at this point, and the fact that he’s using ne to turn on Whiteflame and Pie makes him seem a little weird.

Can’t remember which one of you it was that asks, but it turns out that when I die and the info is released, the number stays the same. It always represents the total number of fatalities of every living or dead player in the game.

I also don’t really scumread earth that much, I more townread him for the early miller claim.

Yeah, it’s the number of deaths on all out combined flights. Austin’s still getting back to me if I can see if the number changes.

I think that in my first game, I posted no more then 5 times in DP1, but I did get more into it later. It’s actually pretty normal to be a little overwhelmed in the owning. Just try and keep up as best you can.

To expand on the justification, due to a mishap when converting Pounds to Kilograms, the plane was significantly under fueled and thus the engines burned out. These are supposedly very hard circumstances to land a plane it, but the pilot knew of an unused military landing strip that they used in a pinch to land safely. Because of how amazing the pilots were, I’m a strengthener.

Alright, I wasn’t expecting this so soon, but I get it. I’m the Gimli Glider and I’m a strengthener due to the heroism of the Pilots in landing the plane with zero casualties. I don’t think I can claim my legacy role.

I’m somewhere in the middle of the road about earth. The early Miller claim does make me townread him. I’m willing to lynch but only if we are in a really horrible position by the end of the DP. Suffice to say that I would prefer a PoE lynch instead of Earth, but he is on the list if we run out of every other option.

So sorry about the inactivity, I read my PM and then went to do something, forgetting that the game existed. You have the right to pressure me though, so that’s understandable.

Still a bit confused, but I’m taking away that “the answer” may be close to some form of just self government. I think the confusion is that we have different definitions of anarchy and government. For me, I use anarchy to mean “no laws and no ruling body whatsoever” whereas government is anything else. If a ruling body were to be made up of every citizen, I would still call it a government, it’s just perfect democracy kind of government.

So I think what you mean by a lack of government just means power split equally between all citizens. Again, I’m probably wrong, but I’m stupid anyways, so I’ll keep reading what you wrote.

Yeah, in a theoretical world where humans are all utility maxing automatons, anarchy works. No one commits crimes because we all understand the individual benefit to society. However, you’re right that a government can only be as stable as it citizens allow it to be.

Oh, I think I get what you’re saying now. I suppose I meant to say anarchy or any form of government. In that case, are you advocating for some kind of true, complete democracy as opposed to a republic?

I’d make the argument that there is still room for improvement, but I think we roughly agree that there can’t be too much more to go. It seems paradoxical that sometimes a more authoritarian government (that is, as opposed to anarchy) can actually lead to a better life for its citizens.

Well sure, in theory anarchy is perfect,  but we all know that human beings aren’t mature enough to handle it.

Come to think of it now, I used to have a friend who would keep showing me random computer simulations of famous flight crashes, so maybe that will help me out a bit here.

My logic is just about the same as Owen’s honestly. Mafia messenger seems weird, and like I said before, I don’t rule out Mafia kingmaker, but there are some better options.

I have no reason to sus Banana for anything, so that leaves it to Owen for me. 

As for the no NK thing, yes I did lie, I am a 2x and I saved my shot from last round. I had zero clue who the NK would be, so I figured I should save it one more round. I claimed 1x so I wouldn’t draw the mafia kill, and clearly it worked.

This might not seem like a good plan to you guys, but clearly it did work seeing as we are still going by DP4 even though we thought it was MYLO last round.

Also, I protected Lunatic.

Well yeah, it’s famously an allegory for communism and the USSR, but I think you’re right that he put many different themes into it to convey lots of different messages.

Yeah, that’s also a pretty interesting take. I suppose what ends up following from both of your ideas is the question, “well then what does work?”, which I suppose is the whole point of the book.

Well I never necessarily said that he (or I) supported rule by the smart. My take is just that he shows how rule by the smart often descends into unjust rule, but then again, I could be mistaken and he was saying that rule by the smart always descends into unjust rule.

I mean, me neither, but it looks like it’s the best we’re gonna get at this point. We can wait a bit more if you want for an Owen lynch.

If we can get enough votes for Owen, I’m good for that too, but I don’t think Banana’s coming online anytime soon.
