@HistoryBuff
I walk around town and see signs posted up everywhere saying that elections don't matter and the people need to rise up. These signs are posted everywhere by communist groups.
Calling everyone who doesn't support your insane politics a racist nazi is polarizing. The same people who do these things commit violence.
I am not one of these people.

Evidence and proof are not the same thing.
Proof is evidence that leads to one changing their
mind.
And nothing has been settled yet. It is totally reasonable to think election fraud could happen.
Especially since, you know, I've hung around anarchists most of my life and there are people caufht on videk and audio bragging about doing these kinds of things. Also, as I've said before, even when I was in public school they taught us about the history of election fraud in Chicago.
It is totally reasonable to believe these things still happen, especially in today's environment that is a great deal more politically polarized.

H.R. 4310
"(Sec. 1078) Revises provisions of the United States Information and Educational Exchange Act of 1948 authorizing the Secretary of State and the Broadcasting Board of Governors to provide for the preparation and dissemination of information intended for foreign audiences abroad about the United States, including about its people and policies, through press, publications, radio, motion pictures, the Internet, and other information media, including social media, and through information centers and instructors. Authorizes the Secretary and the Board to make available in the United States motion pictures, films, video, audio, and other materials disseminated abroad pursuant to such Act, the United States International Broadcasting Act of 1994, the Radio Broadcasting to Cuba Act, or the Television Broadcasting to Cuba Act. Amends the Foreign Relations Authorization Act of Fiscal Years 1986 and 1987 to remove statutory limitations on the ability of the Board and the State Department to provide information about their activities to the media, the public, or Congress."
The short of this is that collaboration between the media and the state isn't strange. Look up all the documents involved.
I could point out some U.N. documents as well that have to do with how states are expected to change their culture and such.

I know this much. I went to bed in the AM. Things were very different looking than when I woke up a few hours later.
But besides that, the news media is so dishonest that it isn't as simple as considering my sources as you say. I'm sure that sources you consider reliable have been shown to me as not being so.
I see enough evidence to warrent a serious consideration rather than a dismissal.

It can even be shown through scripture that the forerunner and baptist St John gave moral correction as made evident through the account of his death.
He did what all the prophets did, he convicted people of their sin in the spirit of leading them to repentence.
You know, besides playing a part in the theophany of Christ following His baptism.

@RoderickSpode
I think you answered the question as to why God would lead someone to a church of heretics.
What the pentacostals call speaking in tongues is NOT speaking in tongues. I wouldn't rule out that the people running these churches are intentionally mocking the true gift, but I think it is just as likely of an explanation that they are delusional.
There is only The Orthodox Catholic Church. There are churches out there that like to call themselves orthodox, for example, there is an "orthodox presbytarian church", and even a church in Austin Texas that calls itself orthodox that borrows some things from us but is really some kind of new age interfaith type deal. None of these "orthodox" churches are in communion with us, and they certainly don't have apostolic succession. It has less to do with whatever they teach to me and moreso to do with the fact that they aren't really the church.
The conception you have of the church is not in line with the historical church's understanding of what the church is. Your conception of the church is something that protestants came up to justify their independence from the church. This ecclesiology is a threat to The Church itself, and we will never go along with it. It isn't that we are a faction of the church. Rather, we are The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. As the other so called churches are not with us, they are heretical and schismatic congregations.
Ecumenism is called by some of us the "pan-heresy", because it is the means by which all of these heretics can band together in opposition to orthodoxy. Even though none of these heretical churches have the truth, and they certainly don't agree with eachother, they are united in their opposition to orthodoxy. For us to be unevenly yoked with heretics would compromise the integrity of the church. We don't share the same faith, it is really that simple.
At the same time though, we have been around simce the very start, while none of these heretical churches have been around for more than a few hundred years at most. These heretical churches are constantly dealing with schism. New churches are started everyday from those who are unsatisfied with their mother churches.
I would not say there are heretical orthodox churches, because then they wouldn't be orthodox anymore. The Roman Catholic Church used to be orthodox, but they fell into heresy, broke away from the church, and the fruits of their apostasy are thousands of ever splintering Christian sects, and the modern anti-christ worldview that has come to dominate the west and much of the world.
What The Orthodox Church teaches as doctrine is the doctrine that was passed on to Christ to his disciples and to the church through the ages. Heresies have been around since the start, and not only has the church repudiated these heresies, but no church claiming these heresies has outlived us.
The reason is simple, Christ said the gates of hell will not overcome the church, and The Orthodox Catholic Church is that church.

What we are witnessing is the decline of western civilization
Crushing our potential and piling it on, how will history portray us?
Attack the family
Attack their faith and dreams
Attack the body and the head will fall
A lasting legacy
Or ruin brought in haste?
The enemy of truth
Is lying there in state
Another day, another manufactured crisis keeping the people distracted
There's no one playing by the rules anymore, how will history portray us?
A broken backbone
With nothing left to lose?
That hate the sight of all the ones that do?
A lasting legacy
Or ruin brought in haste?
The enemy of truth
Is lying there in state
A shiny new agenda
Birthed from a depraved mind
Of failing us on purpose
To culturally sanitize
Its opiates for the masses under cloak as hope and change
The "new normal" or just more of the same?
The perfect plan must have an alibi
And the perfect pawn to spew the party line
Of the perfect falsehood spoke a thousand times
The perfect words cover the greatest crime
Hell... is turning itself inside out
To lead its path up to meet us
And we deliberately take
A step, one foot closer to the grave

It's not really about evidence.
Look, how often do I say, "The Truth is God" and "The Ultimate Reality is God"? How often do I point out that to deny this God's existence is a confession of nihilism?
Yet, who among these atheists will acknowledge God? None of them will. So naturally, they are nihilists.
You can't convince a nihilist of Truth because they don't believe in Truth. They will make pretense of being reasonable, they will use arguments they don't really believe in, they will present anything as evidence for the sake of sowing doubt. The point is not so much to lead anyone to The Truth. Rather, the nihilist simply acts drag everyone down to their level. It is all about destruction, nothing productive.
The important thing to realize is that a nihilist doesn't have conviction about anything. It is an embrace of arbitrariness. If they feign conviction, it is always to tear something down. Oh, you think you are so moral? Well, I will feign a moral highground to silence you. Oh, you think you know something? I will feign having knowledge in order to silence you. It's all about censor. Destruction.
Nihilism is the doctrine of negation. It is death worship. Nothing about it is intended to be edifying.
Hadn't you heard? Only a fool says in their heart there is no God. I wouldn't expect much from fools. At best, someone who doesn't know any better might come to the realization that they have been tricked into embracing nihilism. This only happens if the peraon who has been tricked actually does believe that there is Truth. Nihilists like to make appeals to facts and truth in order to lead people into what is ultimately a worldview absent of Truth.
Never underestimate the craftiness of the devil I say.

Well, for one, nobody says Jesus was stabbed to death.
But I will present to you our creed
"I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets.
In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come.
Amen."

Created:

It is a simple yes to both questions.
All I am doing is pointing out that even if we use the same words, we do not understand these things the same way. Therefore, whatever answer I give is not the answer that you will hear.

@Juice
I certainly do my best to "abide by the 10 commandments". Is this not a good guideline for moral living? What is objectionable about them?
Do I believe in the ressurection of Jesus? As surely as I believe that when men in their evil make war against The Truth, and do what they can to exterminate it, The Truth cannot truly be killed. It will rise again.
Created:
-->
@Juice
I certainly believe in a Godnthat you do not know. A God you think you know. So when I say I believe in the God of the bible, you would have in your mind an image of that God that does not resemble the God I believe.
The God I believe is The Ultimate Reality. The Truth is God.
To say that my God does not exist is a confession of nihilism, that is, the rejection of Absolute Truth and Ultimate Reality.
Created:

@Tradesecret
I understand what you are saying.
I am not seeing supernatural as superhuman. Rather, I am seeing God as something that transcends nature itself, being even the determiner of nature.
Created:

@Juice
There is nothing to debate.
Either you sre talking about the same God I am or you aren't.
The God I believe is The Ultimate Reality.
You have no argument against my God.
Created:

Atheism can be agnostic as in "I don't know if there is a God", because that is a lack of belief.
Atheism can also be a belief, as in "I believe there are no gods or God."
Capital "G" God is The Ultimate Reality. Atheism toward this God is nihilism.
An atheist would say they have no gods, but from at least the orthodox perspective, if you don't accept God, the void has to be filled with some god. The atheist is simply someone who is ignorant concerning what is meant by these things.
The philosophers of the 1800s understood atheism better. In that, when you reject The Ultimate Reality, or absolute Truth, the void is filled. One becomes their own god.
What motivates a person? What makes life worth living for them? What is life for a person? If you examine these things, you will find what god or gods it is that a person has.
Those who in their pride make themselves out to be their own god do not tend to recognize how their preferences reveal which gods have control over them.
The Ultimate Reality is God. That being the case, whether someone acknowledges this God or not, it is the case that this is God. A rejection of this God is an embracing of arbitrariness, a submission to polytheism.
Atheists and polytheists are the same to us, the only difference being one of acknowledgement. The polytheist recognizes their gods, while the atheist is in denial or ignorance of their gods.

I am all for the right to bear arms, and even open carry.
However, concealed carry is a grear deal more diplomatic. Some people feal nervous around those who are armed, and that is just a reality. In many situations, it is a matter of practicality to conceal your firearm.
Coming from Texas here.
Most bars say no to open carry. Drunks get stupid around openly displayed firearms. Someone who is unreasonably liquored up can't grab for a concealed firearm.
Not that I frequent bars, but I do get the reasoning.

St Nina is called an apostle, but she was not a bishop. Rather, she brought Christianity to a country.
St Herman of Alaska brought Christianity to the Aleutians, but he was not a bishop. He is still considered an apostle.

It might be important to also note that every bishop is a presbyter, but not all presbyters are bishops!
Not really as confusing as you might think.
Created:

@fauxlaw
It's really not that confusing. It is simply a matter of accepting what the church teaches concerning this rather than trying to figure it out through reasoning.
It is probably not that important that the number "70" be considered as literal, though there are lists available concerning the identities of those who were numbered among the 70
You are correct to saying it isn't a matter of seniority. An elder isn't necessarily someone who is old in this context. It is rather a leader of the church. In English, we call them priests.
Created:

@fauxlaw
The authority of Oxford as pertaining to the English language is unquestioned, surely.
It should be evident that God transcends nature. Therefore, there should be no controversy about God being considered "supernatural".

St Irenaeus, another right believing bishop of the early church, a disciple of Saint Polycarp, a bishop appointed by St John the theologian, the very author of the gospel of John, the letters bearing his name, and the apocalypse wrote...
"Wherefore it is incumbent to obey the presbyters who are in the Church,—those who, as I have shown, possess the succession from the apostles; those who, together with the succession of the episcopate, have received the certain gift of truth, according to the good pleasure of the Father. But [it is also incumbent] to hold in suspicion others who depart from the primitive succession, and assemble themselves together in any place whatsoever, [looking upon them] either as heretics of perverse minds, or as schismatics puffed up and self-pleasing, or again as hypocrites, acting thus for the sake of lucre and vainglory. For all these have fallen from the truth."
To clarify, a presbyter is a priest, that is the word that is used in Greek. An elder of the church.
Created:
Posted in:
St Ignatius of Antioch, no innovator but a martyr and true bishop rightly dividing the word of truth wrote...
"Be subject to the bishop as to the Lord, for "he watches for your souls, as one that shall give account to God." Wherefore also, you appear to me to live not after the manner of men, but according to Jesus Christ, who died for us, in order that, by believing in His death, you may by baptism be made partakers of His resurrection. It is therefore necessary, whatsoever things you do, to do nothing without the bishop. And be subject also to the presbytery, as to the apostles of Jesus Christ, in whom, if we live, we shall [at last] be found.
In like manner, let all reverence the deacons as an appointment of Jesus Christ, and the bishop as Jesus Christ, who is the Son of the Father, and the presbyters as the Sanhedrin of God, and assembly of the apostles. Apart from these, there is no Church."
Created:

@fauxlaw
Yes, we believe the confession is the rock. The revelation rather. Christ is the rock. There is no contradiction between us here.
But Christ did establish a church, which as even the New Testament shows has leaders and organization. That very same church has maintained unbroken continuity for 2,000 years. The Orthodox Catholic Church.
The issue you are having comes from a misunderstanding of what these words mean. An apostle is as I said, someone who is sent out as a missionary. A bishop is an ecclesiastical administrator. They are two seperate "offices" so to speak that are not mutually exclusive.
