Illuminati
Deposes Puppet Ruler Airmax
By Conspi
Theo
Last month,
the moderation team removed DART President Airmax1227 from office on the
grounds that he had been inactive for months. Deputy Moderator Supadudz said
that “Airmax has not properly fulfilled his duty as
president”. This is, of course, a bald-faced lie. Airmax did indeed fulfill his
duty of being a puppet of the Illuminati. His disappearance from the site was
the plan all along. When the people demanded a president to represent them, the
reptilian mods had no choice but to go along with it. However, they hatched a
plan to sabotage the office of president and installed a known yes-man, Airmax,
who would do what they want. By having him stay inactive, they deprived the
members of DART of representation for an entire year. And they thought we
wouldn’t notice! We’re on to your tricks, Illuminati scum!

Novice_II Closes
in on oromagi in Debate Rating
By Carl Engels
Just over five months after starting
his new account, Novice_II has reached, at the time of this writing, an
incredible debate rating of 1899, only 23 points short than the site leader,
oromagi. Oromagi has led the debate rankings for over three years, boasting a record
of 114 wins and only 3 losses. However, one of those losses is to Novice_II.
The pair have sparred twice, with each debater claiming a win. Perhaps more
impressively, Novice_II has achieved this level despite continually thumbing
his nose at the website bourgeoisie. His position as an uncompromising champion
of the proletariat has made him a controversial figure, and a true hero of the
revolution. In the background, users Intelligence_06 and RationalMadman are
also gaining rating. The anti-elite RationalMadman has once again passed 1800
rating and is quickly gaining on the leaders. We have a full blown fight for
the crown, comrades. Who will triumph? The upstart proletariat hero? The elite
member of the bourgeoisie? The Chinese prodigy? Or the fiery veteran? Only time
will tell!

Debates Debating
Debaters Divide DARTers
By Trum Porter
If you’ve been here long, you’ve seen
the recurring threads about who the best debaters are. This topic has once
again surged to the forefront as some users challenge whether the most highly
rated debaters on DART are any good. The most high-profile of these
conversations was in the debate “Barney is not a good debater”, in which
thinking conservative Vici OWNED and DESTROYED progressive soyboy Barney. Meanwhile,
oromagi has once again taken fire for his continual noob sniping and has been
EXPOSED as the DemoRAT loser he really is. Everyone knows the real champion is
SirAnonymous, who PROVED his dominance in this brilliant thread. Yup, this
complete pwnage is going on YouTube!

Opinion: This Is
the Most Important Election Of Our Lifetime… So Far.
By Grandpa Curmudgeon
Yup, here we go again. Tomorrow is
Election Tuesday, the only holiday where we all agree that we all hate each
other. And I tell you what, son, this is the most important election of your
lifetime… so far. Back in my day, we all voted. And guess what? We’re all still
voting, cuz modern healthcare made sure that we lived this long. But when we
voted, we had to go uphill, both ways, in the snow, past the lions, over the
alligator moat, and through the dungeons and dragons just to get to the voting
booth. And it was worth it because that was the most important election of our
lives. The next one was too. And the next one. In fact, now that I’m thinking
about it, I reckon that every election I’ve ever voted in was the most
important one of my lifetime. But you kids got it easy. The most you gotta remember
when you vote is that you have to bring your own water or ask the poll workers
for one. Such suffering, kid. So get out there and vote. It's the most
important election of your lifetime, so far. The next one will be too. You’ll
catch on.
Editor’s Note:
But seriously, go vote. Unless you’re not American. But only Americans are on
the internet, so that’s not an issue.

Players Open Violin Cases After Conspiracy Theory Mafia
By ScumAnonymous
After a raucous game of Conspiracy
Theory mafia, the post-mortem arguments devolved into a Valentine’s day event. Pie
and RM were the first to open their violin cases and start emptying magazines
in each other’s direction after a spat over each other’s mafia skills – or, as
they might say of each other, the lack thereof. Other mafiosos joined in as the
situation spiraled out of control. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot released a statement
warning citizens of the danger. “There is an ongoing mafia shootout, so please
be aware. I’d ask you all to stay in interior rooms away from windows, but everyone’s
already doing that, because this is Chicago, after all.” Thankfully, the drum
magazines on everyone’s Thompson submachine guns jammed, ending the shootout.

I could have savored this, weighing the perfect moment and thing to say that would lend it the greatest significance.
*would have lent. You changed verb tenses mid-sentence.
I could have said something intelligent instead of being pedantic, but needlessly correcting your grammar seemed to be the only proper reply to your comment.

@Best.Korea
Well, this is your moment. You can put "Not Vici" on your resume now!

@Bones
Yeah, you don't seem to have much in common with Vici.

@Bones
If it's true, close the Vici account and ask for mercy. If it's false, I don't know what I'd do in your shoes. Weird.
Created:

And yet, the timing of the last four posts would suggest that it's quite possible. They are only a few minutes apart. Bones was not tagged in the reveal, but noticed it immediately. Veeerrrry weird.

If Vici really is Bones's alt, then that is the weirdest, most pointless troll I've ever seen.
If not, then do you guys use the same VPN or something?
Or is Vici being dishonest about who the mods claim he is?
Weird.

Don't have time for reads on everyone right now, but I'll do a few.
Pie and Supa: Their behavior, and especially their reactions to each other, felt genuine. I think they're both TP. I would not be surprised if at least one of them is hostile.
Crystalnyx: New, so I'm not sure how to read them yet. Feels towny, though.
Barney and whiteflame: Both are being pro-town and are contributing. That means nothing.
Earth: Lean town. His attempt to trick the new players into revealing they're mafia was low effort, but it seems more towny than not.
Out of time. We cannot get out. They are coming.

Rereading the DP and noticed something. Pie told me that he didn't mind being lynched even though he would lose, because he hates being TP. However, he later told Supa this:
So he's willing to get lynched but not modkilled? It might be nothing, but it's weird.Bruh what? I’m playing against my wincon if I willingly get mod-killed.

@whiteflame
Regarding your read on me: after looking up my character, I ended up changing my claim to not green. My memory betrayed me on that point.
My activity is the result of me being generally unavailable, but contributing as much as I can when I have the time.

@whiteflame
I also wondered about the Bane-strongman possiblity. There are other possibilities, like bodyguard or something, but strongman really jumped out at me.

@Barney
@whiteflame
The problem with using Supa's vig as role confirmation is that we would lose an extra town member (most likely) for the sake of role confirming a TP claim. I think what we should do is vtnl and vote on who Supa should vig. This would allow us to role confirm Supa, effectively have a lynch this DP, and avoid losing an additional towny.
Created:

@That2User
I don't think we should extend the DP for the sake of one player.
Created:

Sorry I haven't done much today. I'm afraid tomorrow will be even worse activity-wise. I should be more available after that. I didn't expect it to start as soon as it did.

@Vici
I can't think of one that fits.
You echo a lot of Novice's viewpoints, but he doesn't strike me as the type to make alts.
You aren't billbatard or Willows.
Death23 on a revenge kamikaze? Doubtful.
WyIted? I don't think he could go this long without making his identity obvious. Also, he's here as himself right now.
MgtowDemon and disgusted would have given themselves away by cursing up a storm.
RM as a mod-approved prank, and this is the reveal? That would honestly be hilarious, but that's way out of left field.
Type1 could maybe work. I joined after he was banned, so I don't know.
BrotherDThomas trying a new act? Not his style.
Ethang? I don't think he could force himself to stay off the religion forum.
Best.korea? Not unthinkable.
Everyone here is a bot except me? That's the one.

@Coreyinthehouse
I don't think it's a good idea to provide too much information about our roles yet. It would help the mafia more than it would help town.
Created:

@IwantRooseveltagain
A 65 year old white guy probably goes to the doctor twice a week
This would seem to indicate a lack of knowledge about white men, or, more accurately, men in general. Men are so commonly reluctant to go to the doctor that it has become a long-running, universal joke. Perhaps the men you know are more conscious about their health (and good for them!), but it is common for many men to go years between medical appointments.
Created:

@Coreyinthehouse
What are your reads? That is, who seems more like mafia and who seems more like town?
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@crystalynx
The main reason not to claim now is because it would help mafia decide who to target. If you have a powerful role, they could target you. If you don't, they can target someone else, increasing their odds of taking out a power role.
Created:
Posted in:

@Vader
I suppose it would prove that you aren't a serial killer or a werewolf.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@Vader
I don't think that would help very much. It would confirm that you have a deathproof role, but role confirmation is not affiliation confirmation. You could be a friendly TP, a hostile TP, or even mafia, and be deathproof.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@crystalynx
Power role means that you have a role that does something in the night. Scum is slang for mafia.
Created:
Posted in:
But on the other hand, a TP with a vig shot and a deathproof? That sounds very much like a hostile TP.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@Vader
Without the vig, your plan is indistinguishable from a lynch. If Pie is modkilled, then essentially we lynched him, and if he isn't, then we would just lynch him the next DP.
With vig, it does save us a lynch, so it may be worth doing.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@Vader
I don't think your plan has any point to it. It seems to have the same effect as lynching him, but with extra steps.
Created:
Posted in:

@Coreyinthehouse
@crystalynx
I would recommend active participation in the game rather than claiming.
Created:
Posted in:
Actually, I should have looked up my character's costume before I said that. Most versions of the character don't have green in the costume.
Created:
Posted in:

@Barney
I would appreciate it if everyone gave a costume clue, to box in any potential fake claims later. Color gives very little away, but would serve this well.
Don't know if it's really that useful or not, but I doubt it would hurt. Green is included in my character's costume.

@That2User
, if there were 2 townies, 2 TPs, and 2 mafia, would it count as 4-2 or 2-2?2-2-2
And the game would continue in this case?
Created:
Posted in:
I am in class right now but Pie reads behaviorally town from his response to my CC, which means I think there is a possibility of 2 3rd parties. I have to believe Pie here because him suggesting a 6 v 2 v 1 and autoclaiming 3P when he knew it would be CC'd if he thought he was the only one.
I really doubt a mafia Supa would go from wanting to lynch Pie to town-reading Pie in 30 minutes. I'm guessing they're both TP, though I doubt both are friendly.
Created:
Posted in:
Two TPs with similar wincons does seem odd. If they are both TPs, I would guess one of them is hostile. But what do I know?
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@ILikePie5
How are you fine with that? If your wincon is survival, that would make you lose
Created:
Posted in:
Conspiracy theory: Pie and Supa are the mafia team. They are waiting for the real TP to CC them and are hoping to escape in the resulting chaos.
Created:
Posted in:
My gut (which is usually unreliable) says that I should buy both these claims. If either of them is lying, then they are taking an unnecessary risk. My head warns me that one or both of them could be gambling on that very reaction.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@ILikePie5
So if your wincon is survival, how is your role different from the standard TP survivor?
Created:
Posted in:
Second, some math.
Suppose both Supa and Pie are telling the truth. If TPs are counted separately from town, then there is likely one mafioso, making it 6-1-2 rather than 5-2-2, which seems unlikely because we would be in LYLO in DP2. That is possible. If TPs are counted as town, then there could still be two mafia, making it 7-2. So it's not impossible that they are both telling the truth.
Third, some behavior analysis. If Pie is mafia and he read the first post of the DP, then he would have known that there was at least one TP. Thus, he would have known that he would get CC'ed by the actual TP. I doubt he would have done that. Of course, it is possible that he didn't read the first post carefully and missed that. If Supa is mafia, this seems like a bizarre play. If Pie is actually a third party and Supa is mafia, then Supa is setting himself up to get lynched next DP. That also doesn't seem likely.
Fourth, some WIFOM. If either Supa or Pie is mafia, then they could have noticed that That2 said "at least one TP" and gambled that town would be willing to accept that there would be more than one TP. So it's possible that one of them is mafia taking a risk. It seems like an unnecessary risk to take, though.
Created:

@That2User
Two TP claims? Interesting.
First a question for the mod. Do TPs count as town in determining whether the game has ended, or do they not count at all? For example, if there were 2 townies, 2 TPs, and 2 mafia, would it count as 4-2 or 2-2?
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@That2User
So a third party is not included in the calculation of whether mafia has won or not?
