I liked the term gaslighting more, when it was almost exclusively a concept in occultism (based on early 20th century screenplay).

Now the term is misused by almost everyone. Gaslighting would be trying to psychologically unnerved somebody to the point of driving them insane.

It involves things like changing things subtly enough so that way there is plausible deniabilty but makes the person think they are going crazy. For example, moving a lawn gnome in their yard over by 3 inches a day.

When done in speech it might involve making them out to be like they are crazy. Denying you said stuff, you clearly said or having a group of people tell them they made a public statement, they never made. (Not usually the twisting of an actual statement, but a complete lie)  this is especially true if it is something they think they would say.

Undermining a person's world view or invalidating their emotions, would not count as gaslighting. The closest thing I would say is from RM misinterpreting statements that obviously mean something different than his interpretation.  I'm not sure if RM does this on purpose, but his actions more closely align with gaslighting.

For example, his attempt to paint an analogy I made, concerning how unethical people behave to justify their actions, as actually accusing him of being a woman beater.

Lunatic, making insults or being a dick to RM, would not be considered gaslighting.

Your actually more likely to see gaslighting from somebody friendly towards you. You are also u likely to see it intentionally done, unless somebody has a serious passion for psychological warfare and a fascination with the occult.

I have done it to enemies, but only IRL, never online, because I just don't consider internet people, actual rivals.

I am not in your shoes. I can't tell you how to feel. I can tell you I don't care. In the rare cases it gets to me, I especially don't care if they enjoy it. Why would you care if they get enjoyment out of it.

Let me give you some insight into my mentality a bit. For the most part, it drives people nuts for you to genuinely not give a shit. Sometimes not giving a shit is inappropriate.

When I ran a restaurant, if I found out somebody hated working with me. No matter how much I hated also working with them. Every single one of their shifts I would make sure, they were scheduled with me.

If they did get to me and annoy me, I would make sure that they felt more uncomfortable than me, by always being in their space and never letting them escape me talking to them or watching them.

I mostly just genuinely don't give a shit, but when I do. I become worse than them. I urge you to mostly do the first thing, and especially stop giving a shit if they enjoy your suffering.

I'm sure them enjoying it, gives you some sort of satisfaction that they are evil for enjoying the suffering of others,  but it does you no good and just allows them to live rent free in your head.

No, it's just one clue. I have seen videos of clear under covers in the crowd and cops letting rioters into the capital. You have to look at all the evidence.

you ask me if one of my clients (investors) is Barack Obama, I would have to respond "I can't answer that" and my doing so would give you zero insight as to whether the answer is yes or no let alone qualify as evidence of any kind
I would just say no, if somebody asked me that, unless he was a client, in which case I would say the other thing.

The only other "evidence" (and I use that term very loosely) referred to by Cruz is a video of Epps telling fellow protesters they should storm the Capitol, and ONE person chanting "Fed! Fed! Fed! Fed!" in response. Lol in what world does one random protester yelling "Fed" prove a single god damn fucking thing? Who is that guy? What evidence does he have that Epps is a Fed other than that one sentence Ray said for everyone in the crowd to hear?  The guy essentially guessed he was a Fed with no proof.

It shows that the crowd was aware there was fed involvement. Plus we call feds "glow n&^gers" for a reason. They make themselves obvious by trying to get right wingers to commit violence. Danielle, I am one of these people, and I can assure you I would never do what they are accused of doing.

Eh, well, we've both stated our opinions on the subject.
It's unfortunate you feel that way, because my goal isn't to merely provide you with my opinion. My goal is also not to convince you of my opinion. It is much more selfish. I want to learn. I want to be proven wrong. You have provided little to the discussion. and have failed me. Worse than that, you have practically ignored my premises and not even taken the time to consider what I have said, because I think beyond the facade of your feigned humility, you are a narcissism who thinks he has nothing to gain, by looking into the things I base my opinion on.

The entire sequence of Quranic revelations are a testimony to taqiyya and, since Allah is believed to be the revealer of these verses, he ultimately is seen as the perpetrator of deceit. This is not surprising since Allah himself is often described in the Quran as the "best deceiver" or "schemer." (see 3:54, 8:30, 10:21). This phenomenon revolves around the fact that the Quran contains both peaceful and tolerant verses, as well as violent and intolerant ones.
The ulema were uncertain which verses to codify into sharia's worldview. For instance, should they use the one that states there is no coercion in religion (2:256), or the ones that command believers to fight all non-Muslims until they either convert or at least submit to Islam (9:5, 9:29)? To solve this quandary, they developed the doctrine of abrogation – naskh, supported by Quran 2:105. This essentially states that verses "revealed" later in Muhammad's career take precedence over those revealed earlier whenever there is a discrepancy.
Why the contradiction in the first place? The standard answer has been that, because Muhammad and his community were far outnumbered by the infidels in the early years of Islam, a message of peace and co-existence was in order. However, after Muhammad migrated to Medina and grew in military strength and numbers, the militant or intolerant verses were revealed, urging Muslims to go on the offensive.

That's pretty much what muslims were like back when Salidan was murdering thousands of christians. They legit have not changed in tactics. They wish to slowly hunt down and kill all non muslims. They probably feel guilty if they are on their death beds and have not managed to kill one.

Not every belief system is good lemming. I think we start from an assumption that all religions are like judaism and christianity and buddhism, where we are ultimately taught to love one another and be peaceful. Islam is a very unique religion. They even have verses in the quran that allow them to lie to non muslims, if it helps them advance islam in it's global conquest. look up takiyya

Lemming, If you have a country that is predominantly muslim like Iran, and you have a predominantly christian country like America, why is it always the mostly muslim countries, where terrorists come from. Even the terrorists in the united states largely come from muslim countries or descended from them.

Hell, even tolerant liberals acknowledge that Muslims have a problem with violence.

When trump announced he would use statistics to determine where the most foreign terrorists come from and make it harder to travel from there, every muslim and liberal in the country, automatically assumed the statistics would show that mostly muslims would be effected.  They called it anti muslim, when he merely mentioned using statistics to shut down travel from countries where statistically the most terrorists come from.

If even Muslims can admit they are violent and be upset at that measure, why can't you?

It's like assuming German and English is similar, just because they both have latin roots.

You don't really see Jews flying planes into buildings, or Christians actually beheading muslim reporters and soldiers on camera for fun. There is just one religion that creates these sorts of extremists, who feel they have a duty to kill as many non muslims as humanly possible.

The earlier books are like that. The book itself says later verses when contradicting the earlier ones, supercede the earlier ones. The late verses are all about war. Even peace treaties in the book are just meant to be temporary, so they have time to rebuild strength before going to war again.

RM was brave enough to admit his fears, so I will admit mine. I'm sure it will make you happy that people fear you, because as Muslims say "We love death, like you love life".

I too worry. Any critcism of islam might result in some muslim attempting to kill you. They'll murder you, probably to shut you up, because they fear the truth. I have probably watched maybe a dozen videos of muslims beheading soldiers and journalists. I have seen Muslims cheer when a speaker mentions stoning a homo to death. I don't agree with their lifestyle, but your response is to murder fags, while we try to help them turn away from their sin. Most religions are about peace and love, Islam is the only main religion that is the opposite

- If you mean, the Bible does not have lines exactly like this, then I suppose you're right. If you mean, the Bible does not have lines as bad or worse than this, then that's inaccurate.
"And now, slay every male among the infants, indeed, slay every woman knowing a man by the lying of a male, and all the infants among the women who have not known the lying of a male you have kept alive for yourselves." Numbers 13:17-18
"And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profanes her father: she shall be burnt with fire.".
"Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword. I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law." Matthew 10:34-35
"But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.” Luke 19:27
A lot of that stuff is metaphorical or in some very specific instances. The koran speaks of constant war. You don't hear about forgiveness of your enemy. Or turning the other cheek, like Jesus promotes. Instead it is "kill your enemy"

You can walk into any christian church, even wearing muslim garb, and you will be welcomed like a  brother. I very much doubt, I could enter one of your temples and leave alive.

What would be your own approach in response to me (hypothetically) posting threads about 'West is wrong' & 'Christianity is wrong'...? What is a good argument look like to you? What is it exactly you find objectionable about pointing out hypocrisy & incoherence?
This is the problem with Islam. No amount of self reflection. The West and christians can look at themselves and say "how can we be better", so saying the west and christianity is wrong, is what we do all the time, so we can improve.

Muslims are generally unable to self reflect and try to improve the general community. I saw this one instance of a guy saying Muslims are violent. The Muslim response was too get angry and say "This guy said muslims are violent, lets get him", and there was indeed threats on his life from muslims, mad that he said muslims were violent.

This is really a huge lack of introspection.

I am the only person who cares more about the truth than just parroting popular headlines.

There was a study done, where people would be in a room full of others, and they would have the teacher declare that 2 plus 2 equals 5. all the plants in the room agreed with it. The study participant, would mostly just go along with the crowd and agree that 2 plus 2 equaled 5.

That's you athias. The media, your friends your relatives all parrot some bullshit peddled to them by the establishment, and you just sit there and agree, because in your mind "If everyone is saying it is true, than it definitely is

He actually does differentiate between liberals and leftists.  Your average liberal can be explained by the fact they are one of the following

1. Plantation liberal-
2. Midwit who has an establishment bias and is incapable of thinking beyond how he is told to.
3. Limousine liberal with a elitist mentality and ivory tower thinking.

Leftists are essentially of two varieties

1. Dumb asses like antifa which uncle Ted spent most of his time describing
2. Egghead academics who are with no practical real world experiences.

Qualified Immunity
-->
@Danielle
Wouldn't a police officer who enforced those unconstitutional laws be made liable without qualified immunity?

Nope.
LOL, qualified immunity was literally created to do just that.

On the contrary, people who are given privileges that go above and beyond everyday citizens should be expected to know the laws they are paid to enforce.

Some legal scholars estimate that we unknowingly commit on average 3 felonies a day. You can't expect officers to have more than a basic understanding of the law.

hink NYC cops have the longest training - 6 months. Meanwhile it takes 4 years to get a bullshit administrative degree. But most importantly on this point, everyday citizens are expected to know the law and are penalized for breaking laws whether we were aware of them or not.
Cops with 4 year degrees have been proven to be better officers than rookies entering the job, but after the first year those difference just about even out. There are some good arguments to be made about requiring a degree. It's not relevant to what we are discussing though. The supreme court has already determined that police officers do not need to know the law in order to enforce it. Even overturning that supreme court decision wouldn't overturn qualified immunity as it came after qualified immunity was a thing.

he article does not say that they are individually responsible. Perhaps it's not so much as the examples are dumb so much as you misunderstood them and/or  did not read thoroughly. The article specifies one particular person that should be held responsible: Captain David Cody, who spearheaded the raid, because he should have known that it was unconstitutional to barge into someone's home without a warrant, destroy their property, and arrest them without knowing who they even are. It's not like it was an active shooter situation.
Correct I skimmed it, and I didn't feel like spending hours researching the details of each article, when we are talking about a specific subject. Sorry

I am going to agree with you here. We shouldn't have that happen. We also shouldn't have so many raids, particularly no knock raids which should probably be made illegal. Innocent people, both cops and citizens have died because of no knock raids. It's a policy issue though and the particular case I didn't look at. Sometimes they end one scout and he writes down the wrong address, or the warrant is for an old address. A lot of things can go wrong. I'm probably going to agree with you, that these things should not happen. However it doesn't mean we shouldn't have qualified immunity. It means we should make raids, very rare and that we need to make sure more due diligence is taken to make sure the correct properties are raided, especially if it is not a time sensitive reason for raiding a place.

The most important thing to remember is that cops are always, ALWAYS given the benefit of the doubt in any lawsuit. Whether it's ruled on by judge or jury, there is a demonstrated bias that presumes cops are telling the truth or acted in good faith.
They should be given the benefit of the doubt. I understand with lawsuits the burden of proof is lower, but everyone should get it.

rather than given a slap on the wrist and paid vacation in response to doing something egregious.
If they have a severe use of force thing, they absolutely should be paid while an investigation takes place and they seek mental help. I've killed somebody before, it doesn't feel good and can cause a lot of ptsd. If they haven't been shown to do any wrong doing, why should they lose the ability to pay their bills. It's one of the benefits to most of them being unionized as well.

usually when they are on suspended leave for an investigation, it's the union paying their wages, but even when it's not. I would hope if you were accused of something at work, you'd get paid if they required you to take off, while they figure out the full story.

I want to ask you. What good does removing qualified immunity do? Is it just to punish people the media and the uneducated masses think is a bad cop, based on the first headline they see?

Let's be clear, Ray Epps is a Senior Leader of  the white supremacist Oath Keepers.
Ray Epps looks black to me, but on top of that, the oath keepers are not white supremacist. When you are a police officer or in the military, you take an oath to protect the constitution of the united States of America. They merely have joined together and proclaimed, they will keep that oath.

It doesn't make these bitches any less treasonous when they attacked the Capitol on Jan 6th.
The incident in question was likely a false flag. I'll post some images and gifs in the discord chat to prove it in a few hours, if the line of questioning Cruz took didn't prove it. However, if it happens to not be a false flag, it is only traitorous if the rioters were wrong about the election being stolen. The president who had access to more top secret documents, seemed to think it was.

Now if declassified documents come out in 20 years proving that perhaps russians or the chinese tried to sway the American election or that any voter fraud existed, I expect an apology from you, towards people like Ashli Babbit, who brought you joy, seeing their bloody death.
