Sure. It's not necessarily imbalanced, especially with multiple ways of confirming townies. I can't imagine having an innocent child and multiple investigative roles without someway for mafia to muck with that. Also, the roles are not necessarily permanent. It's possible they are one-shot, like a mafia JOAT as Budda was suggesting.

Either I was framed or he's scum fake claiming for a mislynch. I lean toward the former.

Best targets for investigation are nulls, of which Danielle was one, and, from a utility standpoint, it would be better to have her confirmed. No offense to GP, but do who would you rather have confirmed?

Blindly following a claim when there is a janitored role is a mistake. Is his guilty the only factor here? If so, I'd argue that's not enough in light of the circumstances.

Minus the result (which we can't trust), who's the scummiest? You've objectively arrived at who you think is scum. If your reads are depending on resolving Hammer/Me, then we simply don't have enough information to resolve it with a lynch. If they aren't, then there is no need to resolve it with a lynch.

We can go round and round with RM. We did this last phase regarding his character and you ultimately concluded that the things he was saying about his character were true (after you looked into it). I am definitely more suspect of him now than I was, given that he was "very sure" there was a framer (#76), but all of a sudden it's just "hypothesizing" (#117). To top that, I actually suspect Hammer less now. I think the most likely thing that has happened is I was framed (or Hammer is flavored) and RM is trying to capitalize on that to get a mislynch.

RM has been so sure there is a framer since last DP. And if there is a framer, that certainly balances out innocent child + cop + 1x cop. We get an extra investigation to counter act a failed one.

Sorry, I'm of the mind that you don't automatically out innocent results (an innocent result, if you want to be pedantic) unless it's to save the person from being lynched, because all you do is confirm a townie and create a target.

That is quite the stretch. Even if I wasn't one-shot, I wouldn't have multiple results after a single night. I've never experienced this kind of line of questioning before. Everyone only ever gets a single "result" so how would this be a scum slip or a mistake? "Results" is just a generic way of saying I had an action and it resulted in some information.

And "they" is perfectly acceptable to use as a singular pronoun especially if you want to obscure the gender of the subject.

The Church Party

In response to being addressed, the man rises to his feet and faces them. His has clearly not washed (either body or clothes) for weeks and his face is stained with tears. His eyes go wide in fright at the sight of a half-orc and a gnome.

Monsters! Invaders! To arms! To arms!

He rushes to the bell-rope and begins to pull it, causing the bell to ring loudly throughout the town.

The Tavern Crew

After Ismark makes sure everyone is stocked in wine and the tab is paid he sits down and smiles again, perhaps a bit too eagerly.

Welcome to my... er... humble village-

His words are cut off by the sound of a church bell ringing somewhat frantically. Neither the barkeep nor the Vistani pay any head and Ismark only sighs muttering something about "Donavich being at it again." He shakes his head then addresses the group before him.

What brings a group such as ... yourselves ... to this town?

Anyway, here is my paraphrased role PM:

I am Lenny Potts.

I am a retired detective and old friend of Robert.

I know about the Rayburn's history and feel guilty about how I failed them.

I have been doing my own detective work into Danny's death.

I am thus the one-shot cop.

Once per game, I can uncover the affiliation of another player.

I have results, but they are an inno.

We know there is a janitor, so the question is whether or not we trust Hammer's claim at all. It would seem silly to waste a fake claim and fake results to get a mislynch this early. But, sometimes people are silly. I don't know how likely it is that there is a framer, but if Hammer's claim is legit, then obviously I believe there is a framer.

The main issue I have is RM. I'm still not going to address him directly, but I will give the town some food for thought: 1. We know there is a janitor. 2. RM very firmly believes in a framer. 3. RM further believes that there are two scum teams (Earth and me; Danielle and Hammer). So basically RM is taking, at face value, results (in light of a framer) of a claim (in light of a janitor) of someone who he believes is scum.

The only thing that is causing me to waiver is my believe that Mafia wouldn't be so foolish as to waste their free fake claim so early, unless they have something else up their sleeve or are going to rely on blaming a framer when I flip inno.

For now, I unvote.

The Church Party

Snerp and Eikka head towards the sounds of praying. The chapel is a shambles, with overturned and brokenpews littering the dusty floor. Dozens of candlesmounted in candlesticks and candelabras light everydusty corner in a fervent attempt to rid the chapel ofshadows. At the far end of the church sits a claw-scarredaltar, behind which kneels a priest in soiled vestments.Next to him hangs a long, thick rope that stretches upinto the bell tower.

The Tavern Crew

Roberts eyes up the Vistani. They haven't met many individuals, but betwen Bildrath and the barkeep, Barovians seem to be dour individuals that wear plain, drab clothing. Ismark is dressed in a slightly more colorful and regal manner, but not by much. By contrast, the Vistani wear colorful, flamboyant clothing. They seem unaffected by the dreary weather and dilaptated state of the town, and readily smile as they converse among themselves.

As Roberts sits, Ismark smiles again and waves a hand for the barkeep, who brings over another glass of wine.

(If you have access to the appropriate facilities, you can craft silvered weapons yes. This requires the weapon in question plus 50gp worth of silver. It takes a week of downtime)

The Church Party

The doors open to reveal a ten-foot-wide, twenty-foot longhall leading to a brightly lit chapel. The hall itself is unlitand reeks of mildew. Four doors, two on each side of thehall, lead to adjacent chambers. You can see that the chapel is strewn with debris, andyou hear a soft voice from within reciting a prayer. Suddenly, the prayer is blotted out by an inhuman screamthat rises up from beneath the wooden floor.

The Tavern Crew

The barkeep gives Grahf the same treatment as Luraxt, who both then take seats across from the man. He smiles warmly as they sit down.

Greetings, travelers. My name is Ismark, allow me to take care of those. He nods to your drinks and tosses a copper each  of your ways in compensation.

(Oh boy, time to split the party @kinder, yes you can cast it as a ritual)

The Church Party

Atop a slight rise, against the roots of the pillar stone that supports Castle Raven loft, stands a gray, sagging edifice of stone and wood. This church has obviously weathered the assaults of evil for centuries on end and is worn and weary. A bell tower rises toward the back, and flickering light shines through holes in the shingled roof. The rafters strain feebly against their load. The heavy wooden doors of the church are covered with claw marks and scarred by fire.

What imagery that remains intact and noticeable from the outside of the church, Eikka and Snerp discern that the local religion revolves around the sun and the moon, or alternatively, day and night.

The Tavern Crew

A single shaft of light thrusts illumination into the main square, its brightness looking like a solid pillar in the heavy fog. Above the gaping doorway, a sign hangs precariously askew, proclaiming this to be the Blood on the Vine tavern. A blazing fire provides a welcome warmth to the few huddled souls within. At the bar is a pudgy little barkeep who stares into the distance, mindlessly cleaning classes. In a far corner, with a good view of the door (and the bar as a whole) are three Vistani, who take note of the Drow (and others) and whisper to each other in hushed tones.

The last patron is a young man, with pale skin and blond hair, who sits by himself at a corner table, sipping his wine. He also regards the Drow (and others) and watches the interaction.

The barkeep pays Luraxt little mind at the attempt at charades. He simply fills a semi-clean glass with wine and pushes it forward, without ever looking at Luraxy. In a flat, monotone voice, he mutters. One copper.

After Luraxt pays (or not) he (she?) notices the pale man in the corner attempting to get his (her?) attention.

(The bone dagger looks fine. It certainly looks older but it is usable and intact, certainly after Eikka's casting of mending. Anyone can dual wield so long as both weapons have the light property. I actually forgot about this with Roberts, so Roberts can't dual wield a longsword and shortsword unless he later takes the dual wielder feat)

As Snerp questions the large man, he is continuing to stair at two wooden birds in his hand, trying to figure out which is red and which is blue. They're both orange. Just as Snerp walks out the door with Eikka, he raises his head. Huh?

Eikka and Snerp begin to take the main road north to the church. As they do so, they hear a soft humming sound, accompanied by the sound of a squeaky wheel. Occasionally they'll catch a glimpse of a little old woman pushing a cart right as she turns a corner out of sight.

Durst? Never heard of them. No house or family here by that description. The lot described here is empty and has been for as long as I know. The windmill, now there is a windmill out west of town. Old Maggy lives there, I think.

(Thus far, everything you know and learned indicates that the valley has been isolated from the greater world at large for over 400 years. The current year is 735 while things like the deed are dated around  the 350's. Until you guys entered this valley, no one outside even suspected that it was inhabited save for the visitation by the enigmatic Vistani.

So while it's possible he's a 'member' of your guild (assuming it's over 400 years old) it's unlikely that you might be able to make use of that relationship)

Ooh! Requested by Baron Strahd von Zarovich. You must be very important then!

Bildrath takes a step back and bows low in a mocking manner. He then stands back up and dramatically taps a finger against his chin.

Anything to tell you about him. Hmm.... well. he lives in the castle. No one is welcome there except on explicit invitation. Something else... something important.

He scratches his head.

Oh yes, and he's a centuries old vampire that has cursed this land preventing anyone from leaving it? That must be it.
