My two favorite books:
Armor-About instersteller war with giant alien ants.
Courtship Rite-A cannibalistic society of near-alien humans.
What does this say about me?

Possibly Tartaria/Mudflood. I am not sure yet. It is pretty convincing.

I don't think we should change natural units of time because people are lazy.

I also "saw" Jesus a few weeks ago. But there was no sense of the divine,and it felt and looked more like a visual thing than a real presence. I see a lot of things that other people don't see. Hallucinations? Mybe.

I have had several religious experiences. May or may not be the Christian God, it's hard to tell. And I may have contributed preconcieved notions to my experiences as well.
I don't rule it out, that it is the Christian God I experienced.

"big fat weasel" in this instance means a particularly deceitful and conniving personality, in the way he beats around the bush in in order not to answer personal questions. The most important one being "do you believe in God", which happens to be important in his case,as he talks about God an awful lot.

He reminds me of what I've read of Giurjieff. Interesting mind, yet still a huckster.

So what makes a pole north or south? The direction the field is flowing (like, in at the top, out at the bottom)?

I wonder what makes us attracted to certain things, in a non-sexual way. For instance, flowers, sunsets, colors, buildings, animals, babies, human bodies, cars or trucks, waterfalls. I could of course list hundreds of things, but I think this list will suffice for now.

Isn't that the same thing? If not, please explain.
Like lunar eclipses and colors, magnetics is something I never get, no matter how much time I spend on it.

I don't know. But the ancient egyptians had the opposite.

That would make sense, but why are people saying it's the opposite?

@Intelligence_06
Did you guys already know this, or did you look it up? I am older and we were taught in school that the N magnetic pole was in the North. I have pretty much read that all my life, everywhere. It was only a little while ago that I read something on it on another forum. When I looked around to find out, there were mixed messages, with some seemingly reputable sources saying the North pole.
And how do you know which way is North on a compass? I understand that the lines of magnetic force go from N to S. But how is that established in the first place?
Is all this common knowledge and I'm just stupid? Even my boyfriend who is very smart thought it was the N pole.

I am getting mixed results from the Internet. About 80 percent say it is near the North geographic pole, but there is a significant percent that claim it is at the South geographic Pole.

Male competition for the most part. Boys need to have a way to deal with their hormones, when they can't go to war or hunt.

There is a randomness involved. (for instance, at the subatomic level) which gives space for free will, novelty, and creativity.

Coherence and chaos walk hand in hand in biological systems
This is interesting. I think it might mean that there is a "dance" between determinism and free will. Which may be the only way to have a universe with a creative component.

@Polytheist-Witch
Do you get experiences like I had? And do you think they are spiritual?

I am not a big fan of most music, I pretty much have a strong aversion to most of it. So much so that I have a rule in my house that no one can listen to it in the common areas, unless they are using headphones or whatever they are calling them these days. I do have some songs that I like, maybe twenty or so. I get an urge to listen to a song or two occasionally, maybe twice a year. Yesterday I was bored waiting for the guys to deliver and install my new dishwasher, so I was just randomly looking at my youtube feed. I saw that there was a music video of one of my favorite songs, "Halleluja" by some unknown group (unknown to me) so I decided to listen to it.
I was hooked immediately. It was extremely beautiful, and I started feeling tingling all over, in my body and mind. It was pretty much exstasy .
I have never had this experience before. So I searched around a bit on the internet. It appears this is something called "frisson", which is an intense physical and emotional reaction to music. It isn't well understood, but appears to have a release of dopamine as one of the components. I have been on meds for ten or eleven years, meds which I believe suppresses my dopamine and seratonin. So I am not used to it, and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I think this is probably what happened. But I'm not sure whether there is a spiritual component as well. (and I don't mean religious, it definitely wasn't that.) But I know even atheists have what they consider to be spiritual experiences, when they see a spectacular sunset or things of that nature. Something that uplifts the soul, in a very profound and positive way.
I almost forgot to add, the group is called "Pentatonix" I think, and their version of "Imagine" also hit me pretty hard as well.

I don't know why they do it. The materialist's obsession with topics such as the paranormal, metaphysics, and especially religion. EVERY board I've ever been to has a group of HIGHLY INTELLIGENT, perhaps GENIUS, MORALLY SUPERIOR atheists. I really don't understand why. It could just be a sadistic streak in those particular materialists. But it really makes no sense. It isn't logical. Why spend a large portion of your time, as these obviously do, harassing a group of people that they disagree with. I don't see this in other, similar situations.
I hate sports, but don't go to sports forums to harass sports fans.
I hate country music but I don't spend time daily on country music boards making fun of Reba McEntire.
I actually avoid the things I dislike, for obvious reasons.
The funny part is they haven't found my Yoga forums yet. I don't think they realize that Yoga is a religious practice and literally means"to yoke, or union with God". OOps, I've said too much.
