The Three Weeks

@rosends
(In fact, if it becomes routine, that's a bad thing).
So why not give the three weeks a miss this year for a refreshing change.....Might turn out to be a good thing.

Though upon reflection, I would suggest that a routine lifestyle is perfectly normal, whereas habitual behaviour without consideration for consequences could obviously have a negative impact in the long term.

Anyway, thanks for the discussion and you stay safe too.

Well, the composition of the bible is such that variable conclusions can be reached and therein warnings can be seen.

So global climate is altering probably due to human influence, and so all of a sudden the bible predicts this.

Though it would have been more helpful if the bible had given us a scientific breakdown of the problems that could be expected from future population demands and associated industrialisation and dependency on fossil fuels.

Trouble is the bible is not quite so clear cut and prefers to issue riddle like warnings encoded in socio-ideological ramblings.

Though are you being cynical or serious?

How should we define "teacher", now and future?
-->
@Intelligence_06
Well the programmer programs data into the site, the site is the holder and provider of such data and the teacher encourages you to input, store and repurpose said data.

And like I said...... As pupils  get older, they are encouraged to be more self motivated and less reliant on direct instruction.

Because when you leave school you will be expected to think for yourself.

Swiss buns for sure.

They are my current/currant favourites.

They're like a Chelsea bun but with icing and cherries.

What's your favourite bun.

And just say that you're a Buddhist.

Well, the older you get, the more education becomes about research and self motivation.

Younger pupils require motivation and instruction.

Teachers are there to maintain order and application.

Ultimately, teachers are just as reliant upon documented knowledge as everyone else is.

And anyone could be an effective teacher, if they applied themselves appropriately.

No doubt.

Such is data transfer and the power of symbolism.

Strip a Jewess bare and strip a Muslim women bare.

And you can have the fat hairy one.

Such is what it is to be human.

And in some peoples heads these hypothetical women will become real and abused.

Meta Platforms is essentially a private company, so therefore has the right to make selective decisions based upon company policy.

So go worship Andrew Tate elsewhere.

Or better still go set up your own social media networking service, whereby you can call all the ideological shots.

@Poly.

There is actually nothing to know, as such.

All signals and responses are pre-programmed, as it were.

Laying and the internal necessity for, is an essential species survival mechanism.

Nonetheless, it is true that the evolved species does have a tendency to apply overthink.

Though I think if funny, that the modern trend is to remove all the hair that is not generally seen and spend a fortune titivating the stuff on top of the head.

Such are the mating rituals of humans.

The magical return of a  dead person is unlikely.

And cheap talk of second comings is cheap.

And sacrifice might or might not have value....Depending upon the level of sacrifice and also the likelihood of achieving a positive result.

Though sacrifice and second comings is a good analogy for Universal resurrection.

But that's a somewhat different hypothesis.

Actually nailing people to posts is a bit drastic.

For sure.

Group activities can be fun.

And we find comfort in routine.

And safety in the pack.

But whether or not a pragmatic God would finds  rituals dedicated to it necessary, is unlikely.

But of course.

Whether or not there is a GOD, pragmatic or otherwise, is still to be confirmed.

And then which one.

Or which ones Poly.

Go dance naked around the camp fire, and enjoy.

On my sabbath I will be donning my lycra and cycling 50 miles with my pack of MAMIL'S.

A teacher is a person that teaches, especially in a school...But not exclusively in a school.

If you acquire knowledge from a website, then you have self taught.

Pragmatic.

ADJECTIVE:   Dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.

One would just hope/expect that if there were an actual creator GOD, it would be omni-sensible.

In my opinion ritualism isn't the remotest bit sensible. It's people doing daft stuff for no real reason.

Any GOD watching would be laughing it's socks off.

Perhaps that's it.

Maybe we are just entertainment.

There will undoubtedly be black racists too.

And also First Nations racists who view whitey in very much the same way.

Such is human data transfer and conditioned  resentment.

There will always be a minority of misinformed gullible people.

Of course one mans misinformation is another's watchword.

And gullible people are always the others.

It's a no win situation that we have learned to live with.

What chance us ever evolving to a point of oneness?

Well, therein lies another hypothesis.

Yep I understand the human need for ritualism.

Even if it is just the manner in which we clean our teeth.

We are creatures of habit.

But:

Why would ritualism be the requirement of a pragmatic GOD?

This was the key question.....Which you failed to address.

Very true.

Though I don't think that the Jews even referred to him as Jesus.

Nonetheless, everything that is, is because of everything that was.

And so on.

So unless you restart from ground zero and re-educate the entire human race, then your comment was as unrealistic as it might be pragmatic.

Ritual is devised and ritual is observed and ritual is transferred.

Though ritual has no greater meaning than the ritual that it has become.

So:

Emotive arguments aside,

Respond with science,

And answer a simple question.

What actually is life?

So:

I would propose that,

It is the necessary potential which the organic must possess in order that it should be sustained.

But what is it?

And therefore:

Why would there be a difference between the necessary potential that sustains an embryo, and the necessary potential that sustains a grass seed?

Whereby we might propose that one is more important than the other.

Don't forget....Science rather than emotion and human bias.

In what language or script I'm not sure.

I think that realism is often viewed as controversial theses days.

Society has set new conceptual standards that are somewhat out of sync with old realities.

Though one still has to consider that new standards become new realities.

What I'm saying is, that although you are young, perhaps you were conditioned with older values.

Certainly being Chinese, your conditioning and outlook will inevitably manifest differently to that of a Western audience.

That was my point.

I see it as green.

I was taught that grass is green.

So I accept that it is green and that anything that resembles grass is green.

But I might actually see it as purple.

How would I know the difference.

We simply apply a sound or symbols (words) to an image.

Nice.

As a Pro choicer I also agree that there should be strict limits on abortion.

I would not object to it being set at considerably less than twenty weeks though.

The majority of women know that they have conceived within the first two to four weeks.

And all women should be aware that they have participated in unprotected sexual intercourse.

Enjoy your debate.

Not exactly true.

A. Unless you perpetually exist in a lush meadow.

B. if your visual receptors and brain conform to an accepted norm.

Everything you see might actually be purple.....How would you know?...If you had always been told that purple was green.
