Jimmy Dore exposes the DC swamp.

@Greyparrot
Jimmy Dore is one of those typical self righteous, pseudo-comedic, celebrity pseudo-politicians.

I admit that I used to laugh with them.

But they soon got very repetitive and tedious.

So go shoot some Supreme Court Judges you good ole American folk.

No one in particular singled out.

Hypocrisy is a prerequisite of survival.

And inevitably we're talking two general schools of thought.

Right, left, liberal, conservative.

And we're currently discussing the right to kill, right not to kill school of thought.

The school of thought that we all subscribe to, for all sorts of contradictory reasons.

Market the necessity for people to consume nutrients whilst watching a film.

And people will readily buy into it...At inflated prices.

Such is the gullibility of people.

The duration of a typical film is such, that one is unlikely to either starve or dehydrate.

Nuclear war even surer.

In the end  I envisage some sort of free data energy thing that exceeds the cellular membrane/protective shell.

Protecting life by taking life....That's the baloney for sure.

And let's be honest...Most "right wing" baloney in the U.S. is underwritten by biblical bullshit....Or a selfish and hypocritical version thereof.

But hey...It makes for entertaining discussion.

Nice.

I agree entirely.

It's what I refer to as material evolution.

Which I suppose in a way is predeterminism.

On another planet in another solar system, everything in essence, would be exactly the same.

And I suppose that directly or indirectly energy is extracted from a star.

Though from the ultimate negentropy scrapers point of view, any cosmic energy source will do?

Pro-life is a contradiction in terms.

Because one cannot be truly pro-life and be alive.

Because death sustains life.

All that pro-lifers are doing is narrowing down life to mean one insignificant blob of hominid mucus.

And the same people will probably be gun fanatics.

Right and wrong are merely concepts.

As far as we actually know, there is no greater authority other than that of Universal fate.

Theist, is just your personal conclusion, and as far as we know, relates to nothing other than your personal conclusion.

Other than that, the blob of organic matter that is referred to as Poly is exactly what it is

Developmental irregularities will occur, which will inevitably lead to operational glitches.

Though I would suggest that spirituality as a physiological response is  quite normal, but often misinterpreted and therefore exaggeratedly defined.

We experience, we respond, we read too much into the experience.

Debating within this format is a very random affair, prone to all sorts of unregulated influences.

Voting is inevitably going to be biased, moderation is biased and whimsical, and ELO is a bit of statistical fancy.

Definitely not to be taken too seriously.

Best just to just enjoy the compositional and mental exercises and then move on to the next, when you have the time and your busy (real life) schedule allows of course.

@Tradesecret
Well...As ever Trade I don't see a GODS definition of sin.

Only your reinterpretation of an archaic human concept, relative to an archaic human concept.

So how do you interpret the concept of original sin and the fall of man?

It is somewhat contradictory when Adam was made in a GODS image, is it not?

As I see it biblical sin is all about the onset of intellectual overthink, and the consequent onset of human physical inhibitions.

As for the Commandments:

We have no way of knowing what more recent interpretations of some sort of code of conduct originally relate to. But they certainly have a an air of human style social authoritarianism about them. I see nothing GODLY in them. They are all about human conduct and the violation of human authority.

Unless GOD is extremely selfish and authoritarian of course......After all, we are made in his own image.....So to put it crudely, God is an arsehole and therefore so will we inevitably be.

And we have been genetically programmed to die, by GOD, which therefore in your eyes is murder. A contradictory GOD it would seem.

Religion is relatively harmless if practiced as a hobby. Like a Sunday morning sing song type of thing, or a bit of naked dancing in the woods.

Though it would seem that techno-evolution requires the broadest of gene pools and the cooperation of the best minds.

So where an ideological State intervenes  stymying global cooperation, this might inhibit progress.

But of course this might be a good thing.......Or even an inevitable thing.

It would depend upon what credence one gives to the notion of predeterminism.

Yes, it was a lovely day.

And the Earth was at a specific point of it's Solar Orbit, such that viewed from here, the duration between the sun rising and setting was at it's maximum.

And today, hopefully will be very similar but with a marginally shorter duration between sun rise and sun set.

And so on, until December 21st.

And so on.

Until such a time, when the Sun will eventually engulf the Earth.

And we will cease to be memories.

Unless we have escaped this Earthly prison.

Atheism is simply one of the many ways that data can be organised and stored within an organic human computer.

Atheist is simply one of the many words that is used to describe a human organic structure....One that houses an organic computer and organises certain data in a particular way.

Belief is another set of organised data, often relative to the above organic systems and their variable sequencing and storing of data.

For sure.

I'm a firm believer in the idea that things will change appropriately, relative to social demand and availability. And social demand will slowly include the desire for sustainability, as old ideas die out and new ideas are transferred to the next generation.

But more importantly things will change, relative to the inevitability of material evolution. The process of everything, if you like.

What we require is common sense over profit.....Yep I know, that's asking a lot.

As a species we've developed a temporary obsession with fossil fuels, relative to our obsessive social need for energy, all relative to material evolution.

I'm 62 years of age, and I don't expect that my social niche will change.

By virtue of birth and upbringing, I am far more fortunate than a lot of my fellow earthlings.

I am content with the way things are.

I would suggest that the super-rich are no more content than I am.

There's only so much spare time in a day to be spent doing fun stuff, and I would be bored to tears floating about on a super-yacht all day.

Though I wonder how much time the super-rich get to spend on their super-yachts.
