How Do You Know The Bible Is True?
-->
@sadolite
The human race is what it is and behaves primarily according to it's instinctive programming.

Though intellectual development has allowed us to exceed our base programming, we are nonetheless still slaves to it.

In terms of species development and also intellectual and material development, I would suggest that it is wholly inappropriate to refer to the human species as retarded.....Retarded compared to what?

Within the context of the organic human structure, we simply cannot exceed the ongoing limitations of evolutionary development.

And the biblical hypothesis was a perfect example of how intellectually limited we once were.

And the fact that so many people still look to an archaic hypothesis for answers, is a perfect example of how slow intellectual progress actually is....Despite what we may have achieved technologically.

Definition of a Racist
-->
@Reece101
Everyone thinks and everyone discriminates, so if you include "thoughts" within your analysis, then by definition everyone is racist.

I would suggest that racism is best defined as a negative outward expression of thoughts, relative to a perceivable difference.

Space and Time are intangible  possibilities.....No more, no less....Though humans typically like to redefine and therefore overcomplicate the base reality of possibility.

The crux of all issues is matter, and it's associated events and duration.

If not, then explain how No Space and No time is a possibility.

In so much as I don't give any credence to religious concepts that involve humanesque or animalesque deities.

Creation is a tough one , as it relies upon a something from nothing principle.

We all identify it in exactly the same basic data processing way.

You just jumped in with the same old black and white historically motivated, socio-political rhetoric.

No one is black and no one is white.

We were segregated by the virtues of planetary evolution and we learnt to perceive and make distinctions, and we continue to do so.

And until such times as everyone is a clone, we will continue to perceive and make distinctions.

A Racist is a person that outputs a negative response to a normal internal response relative to a perceivable difference.

Everyone discriminates internally.......Just as you discriminated against Deb, albeit not maliciously.

Though let's be honest, Racism is largely a socio-political weapon these days and more generally defined as a Light and Dark issue, wherein light is the aggressor and dark is the victim......A shame but true......But one of the disadvantages/advantages of our ability to memorise and record the past.

Historical fact of the martyrdom of apostles as proof of Christianity
-->
@Tradesecret
@amandragon01
Trouble is we're very short on real, substantial facts.

The best that we can say about the Jesus character, is that a person relative to the said character, probably did exist.

And that said Jesus character was perhaps executed by the Roman State, for the crime of sedition.

Other more fanciful tales that promote super-natural intervention, are pretty typical theistic non-factual hypothesising.

In so much as, it must be a GOD what did it.

And the successful spread of the new religion, or new religions *, is perhaps best explained by location and social, technological, intellectual, evolutionary development.

Though the other trouble, is that some people try to ignore the fact that our innate scientific ability has moved us on way beyond the real necessity for biblical style super-nature.

* Let's not overlook the same successful spread of other similar socio-religious ideologies.

Nor let us overlook ongoing older style super-natural hypotheses.

All backed up with with very unsound, unscientific non-factual pseudo-evidence.

A narrative in itself, is only proof of itself and does not necessarily contain facts.....Hence there is a tendency to end up with mythology.

As ever...GOD principle sound.....Floaty about bloke, not so.

If what constitutes a "Troll", is someone that doesn't agree with another persons  every whacky or illogical word, or all atheists.....Then you will find Trolls everywhere.

As far as I am concerned a "Troll" is a creature of Scandinavian folklore.

I therefore would have expected a certain person to be heavily into worshiping Trolls this weekend.

So where did the "xbox" come from?

Trouble is, all hypotheses rely on something from nothing.

And "simulation" has implications beyond just an eternal possibility.

A simulation is a representation of something......Either the representation of a reality or the representation of a hypothesis.

Is it more likely that a simulator and a simulated universal scenario just happened to pop out of nowhere?

And of course, what is being simulated?

My latest thoughts on gender roles
-->
@secularmerlin
There is a basic undeniable reality which you attempt to avoid.

And the there are socially contrived realities which you selectively utilise as justification for something.

Such are the available possibilities.

And we are fortunate to live in reasonably liberal societies, wherein we can discuss such things freely and openly.....And long may that continue to be the case..

Though the fact that you continually need to justify something, does indicate that you continually need to justify something.

I personally am not being judgemental, it's just that I like to firstly try and understand the base reality of the human condition..

What hormone is responsible for dick production?

I would suggest that body formation is primarily determined by genetics.

The endocrine system being one such development.

And arms don't grow as such, the develop as an intrinsic part of  the whole.

Though that is certainly not to say that limb regrowth and "dick" production will never be a possibility.

@3RU7AL
Who owns words?
For sure.....Who owns anything?

Though if that was the accepted  standard we lived by, then every aspect of social interaction would  inevitably always be rendered to confusion and non-sense.

Because any word could mean anything, relative to the whim and necessity of the user.

"Who owns words" could mean Bom Shakka Lak, should that be my necessity and whim.

So we have a dictionary standard of words and their definitions.

My point was, that dictionaries have been latterly adjusted without any real consensus, to accommodate the necessity and whims of a minority lobby.

@secularmerlin
A man that lives as a woman is a cosmetic yet socially realistic contradiction of a biologically unrealistic proposition.

So there's Male Female and Other.....And then there are the variety of things that people do to fulfil the innate desire to reproduce.

All within the context of social acceptance, expectation and possibility.

All fine by me.

How Do You Know The Bible Is True?

@Conservallectual
Mythology and folktales will undoubtedly contain elements of factual information.

But will also contain elements of fantastic supernatural speculation.

So there was this guy in this place.....Perhaps true.

And then there was this guy with this huge boat full of every animal imaginable and the entire earth was flooded.......Probably untrue.

So there was this guy with a very small boat who rescued a few goats when the river flooded after some heavy rain.....And exaggerate.......More likely.

None of which proves the existence of an actual humanesque type GOD......Though who else could you blame back in the day.....Not sure if global warming or the industrial revolution had been invented.

So is the bible true?....Well, if you've got a little black book by the side of your bed, then who can deny you that.

@Bones
Same old s**t Mr Bones.

Everyone knows the real difference between a complete functionally reproductive  man and a complete functionally reproductive  woman.

Out of 7.9 billion organisms there will undoubtedly be exceptions to the norm.

Some people make a song and dance about the exceptions.....Which I suppose, in a just society is the right and proper thing to do.

Though I would suggest that to accommodate such concerns, it would be better to officially adopt a new moderate tri-gender approach.

Male

Female

Other.

We could then drop the controversial multi gender LGBTQetc acronym....And simpy replace it with MFO.

In fact just O would be a more accurate representation of the facts.

The L,G and B recreational variants, would simply come under the MF umbrella.

Temporary working trust comes with a plethora of conditions that need to be maintained.

Whereas absolute trust is unconditional.
