Nigger like so many words has it's origins in the Latin language.

Therefore in it's "origin" was never abusive.

It is more likely therefore that it was originally regarded as an abusive term, rather than intended as an abusive term.

What is everyone's investing strategy with cryptocurrency
-->
@ADreamOfLiberty
I'm far from sure that there is any real  benefit to be gained, by challenging an established system with basically the same system, wherein both systems are based upon the same principles.

Ultimately cryptocurrency is just the same, relative to the same.

So if you wished to buy land or property from me, I would set a price that would have to be met in Pounds Sterling.....Therefore you would need to possess crypto of a comparative value, and an institution or system that would be prepared to convert crypto to Pounds Sterling.....Or vice versa.

Though one would suggest that eventually all currency will be crypto in nature anyway.....Call it what you will.

Nonetheless, in terms of investment give me a  tangible commodity, rather than a digital assumption.

And interestingly, when researching this subject one found that crypto wealth was eventually always measured in dollars.

So unless one can invent a technology whereby wealth can be created from nothing........But then, how would such an egalitarian system function?....Robots perhaps......But what would motivate people?......Boredom perhaps.

The mask mandate is over

@cristo71
Well, over here in the UK when restrictions were lifted, the infection rate shot up.

Thankfully, the vaccination programme seems to have been reasonably effective, though a few people are still experiencing symptoms that require hospitalization.

4th vaccination due soon....And still wearing mask in busy environments.

China and India look a bit grim at the moment.

Should public school be banned?
@Poly.

Is that based upon the penis size to skin tone ratio, relative to wealth study......Conducted by the Pagan Health Institutes Department for Bedroom Efficacy and  Statistics.....PHIDBES for short.

A bit like Docs claim.....Spurious.

Which all goes to prove that Public School should be banned........Doesn't it?

Though if the public don't go to school, who will?

What is the correlation between low divorce rates and best sex?

In terms of time spent, what percentage of a relationship is given up to sex?

I'm not sure that you fully understand the concept of best sex Doc.

You seem to be confusing it with the concept of a stable marriage.

People maybe satisfied with their relationships and content with their adequate sex lives, but this isn't really the measure of best sex.

Very heart warming I'm sure.

Not the same as a deaf person refusing surgery.

Of course developmental anomalies occur.

I have addressed this issue many times.

Some people are born deaf, or blind.....But this is not the same as choosing to be deaf or blind.......I think that we would regard this as foolish behaviour.

Social construct of gender....You said it.

Biological sex.....You said it.

So firstly.........Neither you nor I has conflated the issues.

And secondly......... I prefer to refer to it as constructional rather than biological.......Biological has other more complex implications.....Whereas constructional is that which is presented at birth.

And I don't try to hurt people, people hurt themselves.....It's the old offender, offence, offended argument.

And bigots don't need ammunition....They're already well armed.

@RationalMadman
I was intrigued by the notion of intellectually challenged societies. As if there is such a specific thing as an unintellectually challenged or intellectually challenged society.

I would suggest that any moral or ethical disagreement is likely to result from ideological differences rather that intellectual disparity.

Not at all...My point is mine and mine alone, derived at internally....Everyone else makes their own points in the same way. To feign hurtfulness is just an emotive side tracking of the realistic debate.....People can choose and I wish them well.

And the old new gender sex semantics thing, I don't see as relevant.....Once again, it just seeks to side track the realistic argument.

A Trans man is a female that thinks they are male....I am fully accepting of this.....But they are  what they are nonetheless

And in terms of realism, I am referring to constructional realism as opposed to applied realism.

I am not suggesting that I doubt the on the spot reality and integrity of the Trans situation.

Odd stuff.

Why is it awkward talking to older people?

What is the difference between a "common person" pre and post 1980 or 1996 or whenever?

I would suggest that  sexual interaction between two men is as psychologically taboo today as it ever was, it's just that social acceptability has (sort of) changed.

Lesbianism has never carried the same weight of unacceptability.

And let's not concern ourselves here with T. (Just as taboo and also sort of acceptable).....And the can of worms that is Q. (but only if one asks the right questions)......Nor the huge contradiction that is B.

Interesting that you don't mention popular religion, which to a greater extent is responsible for laying the foundations of sexual repression and moral oppression.

I doubt it.

There might be a typical swing towards the opposition. Depending upon who and what of course.

Though when push comes to shove in 2024, the died in the wool will do as they always do, and the moderate centre will once again be the ones that decide what's what.

Of course there will be the whole election circus of misinformation and allegations and scandals to get through before then.

@secularmerlin
For sure, everything is subjective.

Even the notion of objectivity is subjective, or more correctly, data subject to the same processes of internal manipulation.

It's not that morals are independent and definitive objects that float about and occasionally bump you on the head.

They are created inside your head....And disinterested or not you will still possess some data sequences that resemble what is loosely regarded as morality.

I can probably suggest a hundred things, that when subjected to your internal moral scrutiny, you would decline to do in the shopping mall.

A discussion for the sake of it really.....Which is fine and dandy.

All accounted for in my previous statement, if you care to read it thoroughly.

Cis males who are infertile, is quite self explanatory.

As is a female, that thinks she is male.

Developmental anomaly as opposed to an afterthought.

Though everything is real within a context....And therefore real by association.

So even if my understanding of basic factual reality may seem somewhat conservative, I am nonetheless fully supportive of personal freedom to choose.

Most of the guff that gets inserted into the dictionary and reference books these days, is simply justification for what is still a taboo issue.

Justification to the point of extremism, one might add.

So you think...But I would wager, a thought based on an inherent bias, rather than actually being related to a real understanding of fiscal policy.

And also irrelevant in respect of  the point I was making.....Orange Clown lost the previous election simply because people realised that he was actually an Orange Clown.

American President.....We're talking World Statesman who represents the U.S. globally, and the Orange guy was a World laughing stock.....Ok, so we have a laugh every time the old guy trips up the steps of Airforce 1......But at least he's taken more seriously as a politician.

Are there no decent straightforward honest candidates available any more?.....Well there probably are.....But they are far too boring for all the pre-election circus and razzamataz.

Why does trade matter?

Native Americans were as native as dictated by the moment that they migrated from Northern Asia.

And then other people migrated from elsewhere and things changed.

And people continue to migrate, and things continue to change.

I think that Australia continues to undergo a similar process.

And the U.K has been experiencing the same process ever since boats were invented.

And trading goods has been an integral part of the process too.

Same old shit.

Every four years or so, one half of the population thinks that the other half inhabit a different planet, and vice versa.

Nonetheless:
Get up, bathroom, breakfast, work or some other activity to fill the time, lunch, work or some other activity to fill the time, home and relax or some other activity to fill the time, dinner, bed and so on until death.

Human stupidity is what it is.

Christianity as a contrived religious ideology does not require proof.

@Nyxified
Trans men are women that think that they are men....Fine.

The big difference between the fundamental reality of physiology and the machinations of post natal psychology and modern medical and surgical intervention.

The reality is that a trans man will always be a trans man, rather than a naturally constructed sperm producer.

What it might say in a dictionary nowadays is simply what it might say in a dictionary nowadays.

And just for the record, I have absolutely no issues with the Trans concept, and the courses of action that some people are determined to follow...As one cannot argue that this behaviour in itself, does not possess it's own realism.

But I will not be brow beaten into disregarding the fundamental reality of the human species.......Egg producer....Sperm producer.

Developmental anomalies relating to gender, are what they are.....But are not the same as post natal transitioning based upon choice.

No debate necessary.

The offender either emits sound waves or produces a visually perceivable narrative.

The offended detect sound or light waves, convert signals into data, and then create their own offense for their own purposes.

Alternatively they could just not bother to respond.

I would therefore suggest that people actually enjoy being offended.
