For sure....One doesn't doubt those sort of tales exist.

Not forgetting who "discovered" modern America.

And how various Middle Eastern data, modified and spread East and West.

And indigenes...I suppose you mean those that predated European settlers.

One wouldn't expect that Middle Eastern migration had affected them.

@MarkWebberFan
People will try any old shit when they are desperate.

I tend to go for the stay away from crowds of idiots,  and a mask approach.

Oh and a specific Covid Vax  x2...... Soon to be x3. (Perhaps a benefit of living where I do...Though some Conspiracy Theorists will surely disagree).

And if I ever get worms I'll perhaps give Ivermectin a go.

(Conspiracy Theorists....Covid Vax bad....Ivermectin good...There's logic for you).

Though I tend to steer clear of parasite infested food. (Perhaps also, a benefit of living where I do).

The trouble with the Van thing was:
He represented something that appealed to a certain audience. But the phenomena wasn't actually accompanied with good vocals.

Van was a bit like buying a super trendy looking car, but with an elastic band under the hood.

The fact of the matter was:
Separate the mysticism from the sound, and you were and your left with a hideous noise.

Sorry Van fans.

Do you think that HE will be keen to visit the U.S?

There's no suggestion that HE ever did previously.

HE was very much a Middle Eastern type guy.

Probably will feel more at home with swarthy hirsute xenophobic types.

Rather than with light skinned xenophobic types.

HE might actually prefer the Islamic thing.

Rather than the plaid shirts, baseball caps and cheap beer thing.

Just saying.

@949havoc
I toured the U.S. a few years back and as was encouraged to find that most Americans are pretty down to earth ordinary people.

And that's why the Mad Orange Guy, lost to the Too Old Guy.

The lesser of two evils as it were.

Because the down to earth ordinary people, realised that the Old Orange Guy was Mad.

Trouble is, it only takes a few more gullible mad  xenophobic zealots to cause mayhem.

Same the World over.

And in Afghanistan Muslims are suicide bombing mosques.

Fuck me...People are sure intelligent.

I'm paraphrasing here

But psycho-analytically speaking......If one can say that one is nutty......Then one isn't really nutty.

Real nutcases are unaware.

Your alternative output is simply relative to your alternative input. (Same basis for the theism atheism debate)

Sometimes alternative...But not nutty.

It could be said that consciousness is what occurs within, but separate from the brain.

Which might imply that consciousness could perhaps exceed the mass.

That is not to overlook the process that generates consciousness...... And it's associated energy requirements.

Yet another debt ceiling showdown

@Double_R
Debt is an ongoing assumption.

Relative to humanity always wanting more than it can supposedly not afford.

Republican and Democrat are simply two assumed labels that make absolutely no difference to the ongoing necessity of the debt system.

Though it was FLRW that proposed that at an atomic level, there is such a thing as unoccupied space.

So, what is the status of all space between?

Well.....

We do have a standard perceivable model, which sort of demonstrates both energy and matter.

And though potential energy and material potential, is the big issue that continually perplexes us.

We certainly have never reached a standard agreement concerning the existence of something, or the possibility of nothing.

Perhaps we still await a novel answer.

@EtrnlVw
Yep. But what is shown and demonstrated?....Might make all the difference to what might "ensue".

And there's a big difference between fact and belief.

Belief in a specific elaborated GOD, is acceptance without proof......Whereas fact is certain knowledge.

And it's all well and good jibing with criticisms, such as "not a creative individual" and "bleak and emotionless package".

But that really is just hollow jibing, from someone who cannot actually substantiate the fanciful products of  their own "creative" imagination.

"So what would ensue if."

If A GOD (not necessarily the GOD of your imagination) were to exist, why do you presume that things would instantly change, other than the slight modification of my stored data, to include a certain fact.

I'm not suddenly going to start singing and dancing and shouting hallelujah....Unless this revealed GOD, forcefully  demands it.

And that would obviously depend upon it's "shown and demonstrated" demands and reprisals.

But why, after all this time would it start forcefully demanding things of us?

I would suggest that force and reprisal are the "shown and demonstrated" output of human zealots, and not that of an omni-sensible GOD.

The trouble with your hypothesis is that it exists inside your head, just like your specific interpretation of a GOD principle.

Inside my head, I possess enough packaged creativity to accept the idea of a GOD principle, but I also possess plenty of  common sense, that tells me that 2000 year old folk tales are unlikely to be anything other than a metaphor for a notional GOD principle.

Yep.

Star making's a doddle.

I'm just curious as to the source of the raw materials.

Does it get a mention in that highly authoritative book?

The one written a few hundred years ago.

And based upon old Middle Eastern folk tales.

You know the sort of highly believable, authoritative stuff.

Like a 500 year old guy, that took a hundred years to build a giant wooden zoo boat.

Presumably all the animals of the world were beamed aboard Scottie.

Now that's a novelty.

Why didn't MAN GOD just click his fingers, like he did when he made stars.

The Roy determines what is good.

The anagrammatic theory of fractional reduction to a point of 0.

And "Christian" is ultimately a devolved metaphor for The Roy.

What a load of rot hey?

The brain assess acquired and stored data, determines, and might or might not output options, which we might therefore regard as choices.

Under typical physiological circumstances the mechanisms and processes are set in stone....Predetermined.

We  do not choose to be born....And we possess a determination to survive.

Free will is the ability to make determined choices.

Trying to separate determinism and free will is an unnecessarily necessary philosophical exercise.

If it could be proven.
Then I would accept the existence of a GOD....Belief would obviously not be necessary.

Shown and demonstrated.
What might this hypothetical addendum to proof mean.....Makes it  the hypothetical trick question.

What would you want.
From basic proof.....Nothing......Because I would gain nothing, other than a slight modification in stored data.......A GOD might exist......A GOD does exist.

Of course, this might all depend on the ensuing show and demonstration catch.

-->
@janesix
Yep. We're all conditioned by our formative and immediate environment.

And the Man GOD was an obvious conclusion to be reached.

And of course, human data transfer is such that these old conclusions are easily perpetuated.

Resolving internal dilemmas, is all about being content with how we manage and apply internally stored data in response to the expectancies of the wider World around us.

In short.... The GOD you rely upon is only to be found inside your head, and not floating around the universe somewhere.

Creation, the universe, life and death, remain an unsolved mystery.

From my perspective, creation, the universe, life and death are GOD.....And I am content with that.....No theistic labels required.

It all boils down to internal data management relative to sociological input and perception of physiological differences. The consequent output and transfer of data is regarded relative to the immediacy of the self relative to both the immediate and wider collective.
Data variations will inevitably occur over time, as physiological variations occur and perception and therefore sociological input varies accordingly.
Though change has been slow, it is becoming slightly less slow.....Thanks mostly to technological communication and data transfer.
We previously relied upon the unreliability of word of mouth and then paper.

Heads down.....The screen tends not to lie....Doesn't it?

All thoughts and expectations reached

No further than the atomic void

As all energy explodes

That atomic void.

The misery of thought

Forgotten

It was just a general observation.

I work in the pharmacy industry and people demand and crave drugs, quite often when they don't actually need them and Doctors seem to quite happily prescribe them....And of course "Big Pharma" will sell them.

Such is humanities insecurity.

But as I always point out, life expectancy is twice what it once was, thanks to pharmaceutical and medical advances.

As for Covid...... There's a strong possibility that it was Lab produced, though whether it was intentionally leaked to create the ongoing vaccine situation is one for the conspiracy theorists.

Nonetheless, Covid is out there and shouldn't be taken lightly.
