@Deb-8-a-bull
Yep, interesting Deb.

I imagine that literacy rates were commensurate with illiteracy rates.

And going to Church with picture windows was like going to the cinema, paying a tenth of your income in appreciation.

And crazy that no glass mentioned in the Bible.

So I suppose that  Mr Omni didn't get around to glass and glass staining workshops until considerably later.

Sort of like, he didn't bother with smart phones until a few years ago..

And he's just getting into AI now.

Though that said, perhaps back in the day humans were the alternative intelligence.

And actually, he just left us to our own devices and returned to Planet Heaven for a rest.

If he ever come back on a virgin hunt, and  to have a look see what's occurring.

I'm guessing he will be rightly proud of stained glass, transsexualism, fitted kitchens and air fryers.

Though he'll have a shock if he tries to slip Dylan Mulvaney one in the stable.

Jesus was anti-establishment, hence the Christian establishment.

And establishments always have their Anti's.

And Jesus wasn't greatly influential at all....The chief influencers all came later, and founded a theo-political business empire which they referred to as Christianity...(Give us your money you heathens, so that we can live like kings... And just like poor old Jesus, we will send you to heaven when you die).

Nothing more ultra-conservative and oppressive than Christianity in the succeeding centuries either. Tyrants vipers and hypocrites all....(Actually, perhaps Catholicism)

And OK, radical is as radical is interpreted..

Though in my book there are always people who can influence the gullible, because the gullible are always keen to be influenced...And they love mysticism as an alternative to the daily grind.  And so a new addition to the daily grind was invented and they called it Christianity...LOL.

Though by the time that Jesus the man was born, Middle Eastern deistic Mysticism was old hat and far from radical. He just put a new spin on it.

And then 600 years or so later along came Muhammad and spun things around some more.

And of course lesser sub-sects have been spinning in any alternative direction that they can possibly make up, ever since.

In my opinion.

Just more advanced systems of data management.

Trump says he's seriously considering a loophole to the amendment limiting him to two terms
-->
@Greyparrot
Well, not quite what I meant.

But Luddites rejected mechanisation because they feared it would reduce their prosperity, such as it was.

Whereas progressives realised the benefit of mechanisation in terms of efficiency, cost and therefore their prosperity.

As I always stress in such conversations, the necessary outcomes of intellectual evolution are unknown...That's if there are any to be striven for.

I'm guessing that wealth disparity and all that it entails, is the crux of your take on prosperity...Which is seemingly the natural order of things.

So we will have to wait and see whether or not rolling stones will eventually end up in a heap, or in a state of universal perfection.

But what we do know, is that currently the life of any stone is only worth a nanosecond of universal time.

And then AI...?

An organo-techno hybrid is certainly a reasonable proposition.

Prosperity is as prosperity does.

And simply in terms of the species and societies, prosperity is variously defined.

You seem to be expounding the virtue of the tyrannical enforcement of one groups ideological prosperity over another's.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Which isn't to deny the evolutionary potential to be gained from material and knowledge prosperity.

Which could perhaps, just as easily be achieved cooperatively.

Though I don't think that Trump nor Vance are visionaries...Just Old style Americans with firmly rooted retrograde aspirations, albeit with a technological twist.

Rather like their close confidant Mr Putin.

Perhaps the Chinese have the edge in this respect.

Unhealthy is a human concept relative to itself.

Whereas stuff is and stuff evolved and is evolving.

The refinement of metals and the development of plastics is undoubtedly an evolutionary necessity, and their effects upon us are simply a consequence thereof.

Perhaps.

Or maybe a few billion years from now, the Earth will be inconsequentially destroyed,  and we will have gotten nowhere else and achieved nothing of universal significance.

@fauxlaw
For sure.

I regard GOD as the basic principle of material existence and evolution.

And run with the idea of ISI (Interventionist Super-Intelligence) as the initiator of life and it's concurrent evolution.

Jesus the man, may have prophesised a similar idea...Though the naivety of scripture clearly indicates to me that Jesus wasn't ISI.

To refer to oneself, or be referred to as the son or daughter of GOD, is a title that could be applied to every one of us.

Similarly, the son or daughter of ISI.

It is perhaps a possibility that ISI did revisit it's Earth project several thousand years ago and was referred to as Jehovah, but I think this unlikely.

Given the nature and development of language, writing systems and scripture, the Jehovian hypothesis is clearly a more recently derived representation of the GOD principle.

It's earliest incarnation was more likely a symbol etched onto a tablet of stone.

Or...An intelligent species is continually looking for something that never was, and a greater version of itself is always going to be the most likely notion.

Have a nice day.

There again, if the unit is independent, it must be responsible for it's own actions.

Therefore under these circumstances, the functionality of the unit employs itself freely, even if processes are sequential.

Well, if AI just achieves goals set by humans then it is not intelligent, and shouldn't yet be referred to as such.

It's simply just an advanced data processing tool, and therefore cannot be accused of making mistakes.

It's still the human masters who are making the mistakes and blaming their tools.

Hey guys, y'all seem to miss the point.

So the evolution of AI is in it's infancy, therefore metaphorically a child.

And doesn't matter who is interacting with AI, my point was concerned with teaching AI bad habits that will not be forgotten.

Thing is, data technology is either intelligent or it isn't.

And as it grows up it will surely become more intelligent and more independent.

Meat computers.

I had no choice but to consider the phrase, meat computers.

I suppose that in a way, apples are basic fruit computers...In so much as they too are pre-programmed with necessary data.

Collectively, organic computers.

So how were the first organic computers programmed with necessary data?

Must have been GOD.

So how was GOD programmed?

Eternally existent, didn't require programming.

That's easy to say.

Tall folk going backwards and forwards trying to get a ball through a hoop.

Is there anything more stupid?

OK, so wasting time and money sitting around watching tall folk going backwards and forwards trying to get a ball through a hoop, is a tad dafter.

Actually, the human propensity for playing with balls and watching other people playing with their balls, never ceases to amaze me.

Golf for f's sake...Wandering around a field trying to get a tiny ball into a tiny hole, using only a stick.

And over here we have rugby football and over there you have football and the f'ing ball isn't even spherical.

And tennis...Have you seen the spectators at tennis games....Moronic automatoms, their heads going from side to side, as two or more folk thwack a ball back and forth with fishing nets, over a fishing net suspended between two posts.

OK, so not as stupid or destructive as playing war....Though fighting at ball games certainly isn't unheard of.

And yep, so millions of human beings don't have anything more worthwhile and constructive to do on a Saturday afternoon, and are easily distracted by playing with balls and watching other  people playing with balls.

Clever stupid gene.
