Covid 2.0 (DejaFlu)
-->
@Athias
Covid vaccines appear to have been efficacious in what they set out to achieve.

And not the intended doomsday drugs as predicted by the conspiracy theorists.

I would suggest that denial and conspiracy theory are coping strategies.

And in terms of probability, denial is a still  small risk especially for reasonably fit people.

But as Mr Lamb et al show, there is certainly still risk.

Though I firmly support personal choice.

I Hope that you continue to enjoy good health Athias.

I have been vaccinated and contracted Covid, and still enjoy good health.

So we're all good for now.

And for sure there are greater risks to health other than Covid.

Like being unreasonably unfit, or having a genetic predisposition to cancer and other serious ailments.

Or being a Russian or Ukrainian soldier.

Covid vaccine simply addressed one public health issue.

I would suggest that criminality anywhere will inevitably favour weapons.

Though the majority of ordinary* British citizens  do not carry knifes, whereas in the U.S. a high proportion of the populous own guns.

And I would also suggest that it is something of an Inherent American fallacy, that Muslim criminals are somehow worse or more abundant than any other criminal.

*Ordinary...Ordinary is as ordinary is perceived I suppose.

I suppose for the criminal, criminality is ordinary.

And I also suppose that in the U.S. owning firearms is ordinary.

I think that reacting in a certain way to certain situations becomes a standard social expectation.

The currently popular Spanish football issue is a good example of a recently acquired adverse response to what was previously a normal situation.

I'm not sure that any of this type of behaviour actually improves human society.

Just creates new divisions.

Just like 2000 years ago...New religion created new division.

Reading the bible proves that MEN wrote the bible, and a book written by men will never prove GOD

That said...As an archaic hypothesis, some of the myths and tales of the OT and reasonably analogous. Adam and Eve being a prime example.

NT is the writings of gullible men...Hero worshipping charismatic individuals  and elevating them to a mythical status is a common phenomena, and the perpetuation of myths is also common practice.

So much of the modern bible was fabricated way after the event.

I'm not sure that we can learn much from tall tales or extract a great deal historical fact from the extensively translated, transcribed and reinterpreted Christian bible.

The post-dated exaggerations of gullible sycophants should never be taken at face value. That's a simple lesson to learn.

Money and wealth and debt, are one aspect of social control/order.

Seems to work though.

Especially if it's backed up with armies, with plenty of equipment.

So poorly constructed buildings collapse and people are  killed.

Time to write GOD myth theory for sure.

I was seeking philosophical clarification.

Because even philosophically, a human centred hypothesis would have to include all the baggage that comes with humans.

Whereas a GOD centred hypothesis just relies upon hypothetical trust or mistrust in a hypothetical GOD.

Yep that's exactly it.

How do occupied and unoccupied occur simultaneously.

In two separate spaces, or in one overall space.

As I see it, there is only one space with loosely defined regions of occupation and unoccupation.

Thereby, occupied is finite but expanding, and unoccupied remains infinite.

Hmmmmm.

Sorry to be difficult.

But who or what is offering this hypothetical opportunity?

If it is simply a human ballot with no accompanying guarantee to act upon the result, then I would typically abstain.

Because as FLRW implies, Mr Putin et al would simply ignore the result.

If it were a GOD making the offer with guarantees,  then I would vote in favour of removal.

From the point of view of a cohesive society...I'm not sure that private indoctrination has benefits over public indoctrination.

Notwithstanding that for the first few crucial years of a child's life  in terms of learning, in most cases indoctrination is solely the responsibility of the immediate family.

Yep...Overtly subjective.

But nonetheless...Hypothetically Og had an evolved intellect with the ability to differentiate between experiences that would latterly become to be classifiable as good and evil.

When this realisation actually occurred for the first time, is impossible to say. (How long is the thinking hominids timeline)

Not sure what the Hebrew for good and evil is, as my computer doesn't handle Hebrew text.

Though the words good and evil are stated in the dictionary as being English of German/Dutch origin.

Often old English is derived from French and primarily Latin origins, but in this case bonum and malum are not the root words..

Subjective tenets Mr S.

Subjective tenets attributed to a subjective hypotheses.

And the words good and evil are very much western derivatives from previous concepts.

And are applicable within appropriate contexts, but are often loosely applied in inappropriate contexts.

And are latterly used to insinuate the opposite of their primary intent.

Such is the fluidity of words and language.

See how I used the word fluidity there.

And appropriation is very much as appropriation does, when it comes to the organisation of data and the output of corresponding sounds.

Anyone can create a name for a tactic.

Nonetheless in my response to BK, I was simply agreeing that the infinite questioning or circular reasoning of an unattainable conclusion to a hypothesis, will therefore achieve nothing more  than the acquired mental stimulation that it generates. Which in of itself is a reasonable outcome.

And most certainly, I have acquired new ideas and ways of thinking from such discussions.

Though when the circumference of the circle is so short, it becomes a circular rant.

Nope .

I was questioning you in response to your post, rather than suggesting methods of population control.

I was asking why would A.I. bother to improve human intellect.

In terms of intellectual dominance it would be far better for A.I. to selectively breed and programme a worker species rather than an intellectual species.

In that context I can't see the need for eight billion humans wasting resources.

Abortion and vaccination is human twaddle.

@Critical-Tim
We have been

Humanity...It's what we have been doing.

Though I was referring specifically to the perpetual battle between Christian and Muslim ideology.

"Terrorism" is no more or less the same as war....US led war on terror kills as many if not more civilians as Islamic terror does.

I'm not sure that in terms of "morality", dressing up war in some sort of global legal framework makes a whole lot of difference when the bomb hits.

We have an obligation.
Then why do "we" perpetuate the immoral ideological battle.

And by we, I mean everyone.

Well, presumably because we attribute our respective ideologies with having some sort of greater moral integrity.

Arguments have two sides.

And there is no greater moral authority to judge which side is righteous.

So we rely upon disparate assumptions of righteousness and apply actions relative to disparate ideological values, irrespective of "intrinsic" human moral awareness.

Which to me suggests that "morality in of itself" is no more than an ongoing and variable assumption relative to circumstance.

And intrinsic awareness is no more than an acquired and modifiable data programme, rather than an instinctive species programme.

Instinctively, survival is everything, and survival is dependant primarily upon the self.

Association has it's benefits, though respect for associates diminishes the wider the circle of association becomes.

And the individual selfishly learns to utilise association for the benefit of the self and it's survival.

So I would suggest that idea of morality is no more than an acquired means to survival.

The first difference would be we are not committing suicide and causing mass destruction and casualties to non-believers of our religion.

Let me stop you there.

One of two biased points of view, wherein both fight for freedom from the others ideology.

We've been committing suicide and causing mass destruction and casualties on the basis of religious nonsense for the past 1500 years or so.

And I've no idea who started it.

If the purpose of the exercise is to achieve a lasting World peace, then we should already know that the methodology is hopelessly flawed.

Our moral obligation is to be kind to others and promote peace.
Hollow words.

Which do not reflect the ongoing reality of the human condition.

I would suggest that moral obligation without legal obligation is pie in the sky.

That is to say, to ensure order within our National sub-groups, we have to enforce our own version of morality.

Whereas to ensure security within the wider community we have to be prepared to implement a modified version of morality.

Most people are religious and believe in intrinsic human value.

I would suggest that a lot of people still wear religious badges.

And that most people adhere to their National legal precepts, whereby to a greater extent National social order is maintained.

Though I would also  go as far as to say, that the notion of intrinsic human value doesn't exceed much beyond the value of the self and the family.

The weaker our bond to the wider community, the weaker our moral  consideration towards unrelated people.

I will finish by saying that systems work, but could perhaps work differently.

I suppose it all depends upon what if any the purpose of the human system is.

Perhaps the individual and the quality of it's existence, are irrelevant factors of a greater scheme.

Why are liberals less Islamophobic than conservatives?
@ The inactive RatMan.

Societies that label as Islamic are generally conservative, and some are more conservative than others.

The USA in comparison is generally liberal, though some Americans are less liberal than others.

Though, religion is the nonsense that it is.

And oppressive misogynistic bullies are what they are.

I would suggest that conflating these two principles, is unavoidable, but actually a tad inappropriate.

And with the greatest of respect to a lot of my colleagues  who label as Muslim.

Not all  Muslim men are misogynistic bullies.

I would further suggest, that most phobic's are so, because that is what they are taught to be.

Sometimes in the name of religion.

So I'm not sure that semantics is an indicator of morality.
