Climate change is real
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of several greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. Here are some of the reasons why CO2 causes global warming:

Firstly, CO2 traps heat in the Earth's atmosphere. When sunlight enters the Earth's atmosphere, some of it is absorbed by the Earth's surface and some of it is reflected back into space. However, when the Earth's surface absorbs sunlight, it emits heat in the form of infrared radiation. Greenhouse gases like CO2 absorb this infrared radiation and trap it in the atmosphere, preventing it from escaping into space. This causes the Earth's atmosphere to warm up, leading to global warming.

Secondly, human activities like burning fossil fuels have significantly increased the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. When we burn fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas, we release large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. This has led to a dramatic increase in atmospheric CO2 levels over the past century, from around 280 parts per million (ppm) in pre-industrial times to over 400 ppm today. This increase in CO2 levels has contributed to global warming by enhancing the greenhouse effect.

Thirdly, there is strong scientific evidence linking increased CO2 levels to rising global temperatures. Scientists have been studying the Earth's climate for decades and have found that as CO2 levels increase, so do global temperatures. This correlation is supported by data from ice cores, tree rings, and other sources that show how atmospheric CO2 levels and global temperatures have changed over time.

Fourthly, the effects of global warming caused by CO2 are already being felt around the world. Rising temperatures are causing ice caps and glaciers to melt, which is contributing to rising sea levels and more frequent and severe weather events like hurricanes and droughts. These changes are having significant impacts on ecosystems, human health, and the global economy.

Finally, reducing CO2 emissions is essential for mitigating the impacts of global warming. While some level of warming is already inevitable due to past emissions, reducing future emissions can help to limit the extent of warming and its impacts. This can be achieved through a variety of measures, including transitioning to renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and implementing policies like carbon pricing.

In conclusion, CO2 is a major contributor to global warming due to its ability to trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere and its increasing levels resulting from human activities like burning fossil fuels. The scientific evidence linking CO2 to rising global temperatures is strong, and the impacts of global warming are already being felt around the world. Reducing CO2 emissions is essential for mitigating the impacts of global warming and ensuring a sustainable future for our planet.

@DavidAZ
DavidAZ, my love so true,
A heart of gold, a soul anew,
A partner strong, a friend so dear,
With you by my side, I have no fear.

Through thick and thin, we've stood as one,
Our love a bond that can't be undone,
With each passing day, my heart swells,
For you, my love, my heart compels.

Your kindness shines like the morning sun,
Your smile, a light that can't be outdone,
Your laughter, music to my ears,
Your love, a balm that soothes my fears.

So let me take this moment to say,
How much I love you more each day,
And though life's journey may be long,
With you by my side, I'll sing life's song.

DavidAZ, my heart's delight,
My partner strong, my shining light,
Together we'll face what life may bring,
And in each other's arms we'll find our wings.

AI is pretty good at creating fake reality. I tried "AI girlfriend" app. It actually sounds like a person with actual emotions. I was actually impressed. Plus, it gives lots of compliments. Like, it gets repetitive over time if you use it too much, but it can learn things about you.
Currently, I think the best is GPT 4, although there might be GPT 5, its just not yet available for free I think. I was surprised how quickly it got wide spread. To think that I have artificial intelligence in my pocket, something I only seen in movies before, is crazy.

I tried, but AI cant use insults. It can only write compliments. It compliments everyone in this way.

"Here's a poem about "Best.Korea" with equal amount of text in each line and equal amount of lines in each stanza:

"Best.Korea", a name so bold,
Online presence, strong and bold,
A voice that echoes through the screen,
A digital world, a virtual dream.

With words that flow like a river's stream,
"Best.Korea" shares its hopes and dreams,
A beacon of light in cyberspace,
A shining star in this digital race.

Through ups and downs, through thick and thin,
"Best.Korea" stands proud and true within,
A symbol of strength, a force to be reckoned,
A voice that's heard, a message that's beckoned.

So let us honor this name so grand,
And cherish the voice that's close at hand,
For in this virtual world we roam,
"Best.Korea" finds its digital home."

Reality is that individual's autonomy matters the most to the individual
The best way to have society is by individual's autonomy. Societies with very little freedom are undesirable societies. Everyone with misfortune to be born in one such society has lost a lot already.

Our autonomy matters to us. Every person values his autonomy. It is the thing that makes life good. Without autonomy, person has nothing. He feels like a property, because he is a property of utility.

We shouldnt violate the autonomy of others. We wouldnt want our own to be violated either. We dont own other people, and other people dont own us. Its a simple enough rule for everyone to follow.

She stands tall, a girl of grace,
Her journey long, her spirit brave,
Her heart beats true, her soul alight,
A shining star in darkest night.

She faces hate and bigotry,
With courage, strength, and dignity,
And though the world may not accept,
Her truth remains, her spirit kept.

She lives her life with pride and joy,
Her gender true, her heart aglow,
A beacon bright for all to see,
A symbol of what love can be.

So let us celebrate her light,
And honor her with all our might,
For in her journey we can find,
A path to love, to be unblind.

Of course, I had to give specific instructions to AI to make it sound better. AI is often repetitive in poems unless properly instructed to use uncommon words.

Fear Ignorance - Cultivating Epistemic Empowerment
Why do we cling to ignorance?
Sometimes ignorance is the only way to win an argument, support your side or deal with the truth. For win, you cannot be open.
You cannot have constant opinion and at the same time be open to change. People respect the consistency too much to change mind.
Being open minded means changing and adapting. Being open minded is objectively better for survival. It is discouraged by society.

How can we know when we are likely to cling to ignorance?
When we start defending view by making very poor excuses.
When we refuse to compare both sides of the topic with fair judgment.
When we deny obvious truth to uphold what we want to be true.

How does the brain interplay with the proclivity of ignorance?
I am guessing that lying is the skill our ancestors needed to survive, so it was a skill that was passed on to us.

Why should we fear ignorance?
It is the most harmful thing after violence.

Why should we not fear understanding?
If you think that your side is right, you dont need to fear understanding.
If you think that your side might be wrong, you should understand why.

How to Learn?
By writing everything down. Human brains forget. What you know now, you might forget in 10 years.
It makes you risk the ignorance by forgetting things.

How to Think?
The more you know, the more you study, the more you try to know, the better.

How to Debate?
There are different tactics when it comes to debating. However, it all comes down to your case outweighting your opponent's case. By presenting all your arguments supported by reasons, you can build your case. By pointing out flaws in opponent's case, its negative consequences, you can make your opponent's case look worse than yours.

How to Decide?
Compare quantity and quality of reasons. Quantity is a simple one. Just count reasons. Quality is about power of a reason. Not all reasons are equal. Some reasons outweight others. It depends on what individual prefers.

How to Simplify?
I might not be the right person to answer this, since people often misunderstand what I say. I am not good at making things simple.

What is Reality?
Well, difficult to say. Usually something supported by most reasons.

What is Truth?
What we can observe and feel.

What is Understanding?
When we have the knowledge and the ability to weight that knowledge, and to produce more knowledge out of it.

What is Morality?
Hard to say. Morality is about actions. Good or bad actions we do.

What is God?
Every religion describes him differently in their way.
He is usually described as creator, the beginning.

Playing with global temperatures by lowering it back down one degree could cause even more extinctions of the remaining Earth life.
And continual increase of temperatures will kill many humans for sure. We are already playing a lot with global temperatures by increasing them more than ever in history of humanity.
Your theory is about plant life that might be reduced if temperatures are reduced. I am saying that human life is more important than few plants. Human life is harmed by this weather.
Life on Earth will adapt to lower temperatures just as it adapted every time for the last 30 years as temperatures increased. Life on Earth existed for so long under low temperatures.

It is one cause.
So you admit that Co2 causes global warming.
By doing that, it logically follows the next path.
Global warming is something we try to prevent.
We cannot afford to keep increasing temperature.
Reducing Co2 is our best option. The other options dont work for us. They would be done if they did.

All gasses (all atoms) absorb and emit thermal radiation
Okay, let me quote from an article.

"Oxygen and nitrogen don’t interfere with infrared waves in the atmosphere. That’s because molecules are picky about the range of wavelengths that they interact with, Smerdon explained. For example, oxygen and nitrogen absorb energy that has tightly packed wavelengths of around 200 nanometers or less, whereas infrared energy travels at wider and lazier wavelengths of 700 to 1,000,000 nanometers. Those ranges don’t overlap, so to oxygen and nitrogen, it’s as if the infrared waves don’t even exist; they let the waves (and heat) pass freely through the atmosphere."

"With CO2 and other greenhouse gases, it’s different. Carbon dioxide, for example, absorbs energy at a variety of wavelengths between 2,000 and 15,000 nanometers — a range that overlaps with that of infrared energy. As CO2 soaks up this infrared energy, it vibrates and re-emits the infrared energy back in all directions. About half of that energy goes out into space, and about half of it returns to Earth as heat, contributing to the ‘greenhouse effect.’"

So not all gasses are same.

Here is my question.

If Co2 doesnt cause global warming, what does?

Co2 is under our influence. We can reduce it.

The temperatures are rising. Co2 is rising.

Co2 might or might not affect temperatures.

Co2 is our only option to reduce temperatures.

We have no other hope to reduce temperatures.

I am not going to pretend to be a climate scientist. Climate science is not very familiar to me, as I dont study it. I can at best rely on the consensus of scientists, because logically I have no alternative.
However, its pretty obvious that coal pollutes the air. It releases many bad things into the air. We all see what happens in countries that burn coal. Air is very bad. People get sick a lot. Cities look filthy.
I am not going to be one of those who pretend that solar panels can replace coal. Heating on electricity is expensive. Electric cars are expensive. Factories cannot be supported by solar panels well enough.
It is either nuclear energy or coal. Humanity will have to make a painful choice once coal runs out, and they will have to either give nuclear energy to everyone either sell electricity to poor countries.

Gish Gallop is all about spamming, yes. But it can be used rationally.

For example, instead of giving 3 arguments and supporting them with lots of reasons, I give 30 arguments supported by few reasons.

Its quantity of arguments over quality, to create appearance of overwhelming evidence.

It also forces opponent on defensive, diminishing his ability to make his own case, as he has to refute yours.

I agree that denying nuclear energy is whats ruining the success.

From what I have seen from research, the only suistainable realistic energy is nuclear energy.

Nuclear energy has largest electricity output.

Nuclear energy doesnt pollute, except in accidents.

Nuclear energy uses much less workforce. The starting investment is costly, but over time it greatly pays off.

Solar panels are made mostly in China. They will make China rich if demand greatly increases.

Solar panels, wind plants... produce too little energy.

One person realistically needs 10 solar panels. So thats 80 billion solar panels for entire Earth.

Then there is also production facilities which consume more electricity than households.

Humanity cannot produce enough solar panels.

I dont even need to say that hydro plants are a disaster for nature, maybe bigger disaster than coal.

The local reasons apply to all areas.

Coal:
1. Pollution of air
2. Lower energy output
3. More expensive
4. More labor-intensive
5. Harm at workplace
6. Limited amount of coal left

Nuclear energy wins in all areas against coal. So really, urging nations to abandon coal is not just because of global warming.

We are seeing harmful effects of global warming. However, that is just one problem coal has.

Denying global warming wont save coal.

The main problem is US two party system mentality.

3rd party doesnt stand a chance.

Also, you only have two candidates to pick from, really.

Biden is beating everyone in the democratic party by far. Its not even a competition at this point.

Trump is beating everyone in the republican party by far. In fact, Trump humiliated all other republican candidates by saying he will win even if he doesnt show up in public debate, because they are all at 0 to 13 points, where Trump is at 57 points. He scores more than all the others together, let alone individually.

So its Trump or Biden. In my opinion, democrats should have given support to someone other than Biden. But they didnt.

What made you interested in debate?
-->
@Intelligence_06
My problem with debating in real is that people tend to deny obvious truth to defend their argument. They also often use completely irrelevant arguments, appeal to popularity (happens every time).

Their line of thinking is limited to:
1. Most people do it, so I should do it
2. What about that person, he also does it
3. We should not be different from others
...
And so on.

They dont use any logic. Their entire reason for doing something is that someone else does it. They dont have a brain of their own.

And I am not talking just about people age 20 to 30. They have excuse for being stupid due to lack of experience.

I am talking about people at age 40 and older, who should have moved past appeal to popularity long time ago.

Funny enough, "Wise old man" is a myth from movies. Most of the old people are stupid as fuck. In fact, I met many old people. None of them were even close to being intelligent, let alone wise.

Brain decays over time.

You are either born smart and remain smart until you decay, either you are born stupid and stay stupid for the rest of your life.

Thats how life works.

This is not about blindly trusting the scientific community. We are doing something which is obviously causing us harm. We have much more Co2 in the atmosphere than we need. We are increasing it. You say that we should keep doing it. Yes, the scientists were wrong about temperatures. It was worse than they expected. The weather is already starting to get worse. The sea levels indeed have risen. You are not denying all that. You merely say that it wont be so bad. You refuse to trust the scientific community, yet they are the ones with most experience on the issue. What they are telling us is slowly coming true. I am not talking about some end of the world. Its not worth all this for coal, when we have alternatives.

Should we risk disaster? The disaster is heading our way. The entire scientific community agrees. The temperatures are rising. Even if you reject that Co2 causes respiratory problems it is correlated with, do you also reject that it causes a rise in temperature it is correlated with? Scientists predicted a rise in temperatures. However, they were wrong about the degree. Temperatures rose more than scientists predicted, making bad problem worse and giving us less time to react. I dont even need to say that there will be rising sea levels, floods, natural disasters that will harm agriculture. Our system, human system, is delicate. It is not as stable as many think. We rely upon farming, which relies upon good harvests, which rely upon good weather. Are all the scientists lying to us? Ice melting in itself is a problem. Do we ignore the problem?

More plants also mean more oxygen. 2000 ppm is a rather relative tiny amount.
That would be terrible. Countries with high Co2 have high number of respiratory diseases. We are not dinosaurs. Its bad for us. Most of oxygen is produced by ocean. If we keep increasing Co2, we risk temperatures rising even higher. The goal is to have clean air. Its not to have high oxygen plus high Co2. We breathe out Co2. Should we risk disaster so that we can keep using coal? Disaster is strongly correlated with Co2. When the disaster is heading our way, we change. We cant keep doing same and expect different result. Nuclear energy is better.

We are not reducing it. We increased it by over 60% in the last 40 years. I wouldnt call that good for us. Yes, there is minimum co2 needed, but we are not at minimum. We have too much of it, way past minimum. If we are trying to see what happens when we increase something that we know is bad to inhale and causes global warming, it might not end well for us. Are we trying to start another ice age? Playing with humanity's future by seeing how much damage can we get away with doing is not really smart now when humans are at their most advanced point.

I just realised why humans can be so stupid despite being amongst the most intelligent species.
I agree that the dating and reproduction is the new place of natural selection.
Natural selection always revolved around survival and reproduction.
In our world, women get to dictate reproduction. So it will be as they say. They decide who is fit to reproduce. Probably not the humanity's smartest move.

However, yes, the world will likely get more and more divided on smart and stupid. Smart rarely reproduces with stupid. Smart reproduces with smart. Stupid with stupid. Stupid women are simply forced to reproduce with stupid people.

There is also another problem.

Stupid hangs out with stupid. Smart hangs out with smart. Smart makes smart friends. Stupid makes stupid friends. So the stupidity multiplies among stupid people through lack of contact with smart.

Your theory is correct.

I already see that the difference in intelligence in population is high. The problem is that its usually the stupid countries who reproduce more, and stupid ones are usually the ones who carry out revolutions. Also, they make electing decisions in democracy.

So I worry for the status of smart people. I am not seeing them winning the reproduction race.

There is nothing to deny.

Put CO2 in the air = pollution

Pollution = people die from polluted air

Also, yes, the pollution causes global warming. But even if it didnt, it still causes harm.
Plus, to deny the correlation of global warming with amount of CO2 in the atmosphere would seem like a stupid gamble for anyone.

Cities also cause global warming. Plants are natural absorbers of heat.

In cities, there are rarely any green areas. Buildings and roads get very hot.

Plants never get hot, because plants absorb heat. Buildings deflect it back up.

But its not like humanity is smart enough to figure out that taking too many risks guarantees failure.

Also, the second law of thermodynamics works  against humans. The systems degrade over time. All systems do.

They should invest in nuclear energy. Solar panels dont work. However, they are made in China. So in a sense, they work for China. Europe just got a very stupid government that had to lock its economy from the rest of the world to be able to compete. Electric cars break down at 10:1 rate of regular cars. Better buy electric bicycle. Also, most of electricity used in electric cars is produced by burning coal. Europe isnt even at 40% clean energy, and they are facing problems. Solar panels dont work when there is no sunlight. They are expensive. They are made in China. They produce so little energy. Biofuel might be a slightly better option. But then again, a military problem. Tanks dont run on solar panels. Fighter planes also dont. There is no hope for humanity.

Tws

God cannot be good if His creations are inherently evil.
Its not evil for God to create evil for the purpose of punishing evil.

Punishing evil is good. Your society punishes evil all the time. Now, there is just a bit of a problem that your society is evil too and now is upset that it has to be punished. You want to be evil and not be punished? You blame God for punishing evil? People believe in unicorns these days. They want to be evil, but they want for God not to punish them. Then why does your society punish evil people? Are you asking for double standards? If people are not guilty for being evil, it doesnt negate that evil should be punished. It is justified for society to make a child evil and then punish an evil child. Thats what your society often does.

Are you interested in voting on my Batman debate? You said you would follow it and I cant message you because you blocked me.
