"Medicare and medicaid" cost the US budget 1.5 trillion dollars every year.
Thats about 4000$ per person per year, or 330$ per person per month.
Trump wanted cheaper healthcare.
What the US has right now is too expensive for the government to maintain. The problem is the abuse of the system.
"Free" healthcare = people going to doctor all the time for no reason = doctors earning money by doing unnecessary proceedures = medication being more expensive due to being prescribed for no reason or in too much quantity.
Just some of the disadvantages of free healthcare.
"Mostly free" also has those downsides.
I would agree that the government should cover some cost, but right now they are overdoing it.

I dont think the mods will agree to remove this ban. I told Barney that no one would take Witch's accusations seriously, and really, no one did. The ban still took place.
We should have a plan so that next time things dont go this far.
As soon as we see a user breaking rules repeatedly, we should step in to solve it with words. The more of us do so, the better. We should not use the words "Stop it or you get banned". Instead, we should say "There is a better way to solve this. There is no need for you to get upset over what the person is saying." and other similar lines.
The plan is needed. This could happen again. If we dont deal with these cases without ban, we will be losing users and I am not sure if we can afford that.

Apologizing would have been taken as an admission of guilt from Stephen.
Is not true. He could have just said "I didnt say that, but I am sorry if I caused you to be upset. I will stop making fun of witches. I hope we can solve this." and then actually stop provoking her or stop talking to her if he cant talk without provoking.
But he didnt. What he did was to provoke her even more, knowing where it will lead to.
The point is: "Stephen could have done much better".

A situation that could have been solved with simple apology from Stephen.
Polytheist-Witch didnt harm the site in any way. What she was talking about, was related to what Stephen said to her.
I dont know why do people expect to be able to "Quote Bible passages that command to kill witches", "post insulting jokes about witches being burned" and "to mention Witch's children in a very weird manner" and expect that all of that goes without response.
The Witch's response to all of that was a bit too much, but not really enough to deserve a permanent ban.
The people these days are very sensitive. What the Witch was saying, wasnt even a good insult due to being overused. I doubt that anyone was upset about it to the point where ban is needed.
Some of you are obviously happy that she is gone. In fact, some of you have made threads targeting her specifically just to get her to cross the line and get banned.
If this is how you wish for things on DebateArt to be, so be it. However, you are hardly acheiving anything other than proving that you are incapable to exchange words for words.

Well their must not be very many of them because those states have Republicans in elected office.
Are you saying that democrat voters living in red states should be cut off from welfare?
Created:
-->
@thett3
You also create a strong incentive for states to fight over the most productive citizens and offload the most expensive ones to other states. Is that really a position you want to put people in, as a leftist? Texas or New York or wherever doing whatever they can to force their poor people to move?
State sovereignty in economy and decisions does have downsides. However, downsides can be prevented with proper ideology. If a certain state has welfare that helps the poor and expensive people, that is due to the ideology of the state that is unmotivated by economical gains. I doubt that a state would accept people from other states on its welfare in too large amount. After all, the sovereign welfare states dont appreciate too large burden on their economies. It would be bad if they did.
The difference between federation and confederation is that:
Federation doesnt give full sovereignty to the states.
Confederation is by definition voluntary union of sovereign states.
USA is a federation. Not a confederation.
Its obvious that "poor states" or "states with lots of poor people" cannot afford welfare economy without external help. In case of confederation, poor people in those states would mostly depend on mercy. Would it be better? Yes, it would be probably better.
Welfare economies are sometimes a failure due to "people abusing welfare".
Abuse can be mostly prevented by "welfare economy covering the significant part of the cost or supplementing the wage" as opposed to "giving stuff for free on demand".
Leftists often argue for welfare economy, but they dont agree with each other on how it should be managed. It is true that welfare is better managed by states individually if those states are controlled by federal government that makes them all agree to welfare economy.
However, I do think that leftist welfare is possible in confederation too. States individually can be welfare states. They just have to prevent people abusing welfare.

@Greyparrot
Thats how it usually is.
Instead of overthrowing the government or hating it, people should try to work with it.
They should unite and write a set of demands and see if they are realistic.
Spreading the ideology is more effective than simply hating the government.
Plus, if people really wanted, they could fix many things.
I firmly believe that "Great ideology produces great times".
If people had better ideology and proper goals, they would be able to improve the situation.

We will talk about "what does a vegetarian eat" and "how to weight food properly".
The food that vegetarian eats is usually: plants, eggs, milk products, chocolate, honey and sometimes insects.
Vegetarians eat plant food.
Plant food consists of vegetables, fruit, berries, nuts, seeds and grains.
Vegetables such as "broccoli, peas, beans, beetroots, potatoes, carrots, pumpkins and cauliflower" are eaten due to being high in calories and nutrients.
Fruit such as "bananas, plums, tomatoes, and peaches" are eaten due to being easy to chew and high in nutrients.
Berries such as "strawberries and raspberries" are eaten due to great taste.
Nuts such as "hazelnuts and peanuts" are eaten in moderation, for high caloric value and partially for protein.
Seeds such as "sunflower seeds" are high in protein, but also in calories. They are eaten in moderation, since they can cause a person to gain weight.
Grains such as "wheat" are usually eaten in form of bread. That being said, rice is often present too.
Vegetarians eat eggs and consume milk products.
Eggs are a source of b12 vitamin. So is milk. Some choose just eggs or just milk products. Some choose both eggs and milk products.
Vegetarians eat chocolate and honey.
Chocolate is the food that many vegetarians eat. Honey is somewhat less common. The taste of chocolate could partially make up for the lack of meat. It reminds us that vegetarian isnt just "eating leaves and greens", but has some joy found in variety of vegetarian foods.
Vegetarians sometimes eat insects.
Insects are a source of b12 vitamin. Certain insects, like "edible spiders and grasshoppers", are rather common in nature and provide a good source of nutrients. While eating insects is looked down upon in many places, in some countries you can buy them and eat them.
Weighting food properly: "Metric cup weight" vs "calorie per 100 grams"
People often ask "How much calories in 100 grams of spinach?". What they should be asking is "how much calories are there in a cup of spinach?".
Metric cup is there to meassure volume/size of food, or how much space does food take. For example, one cup of broccoli provides much more calories than one cup of spinach, despite being same size. So eating one cup of spinach is the same in volume as eating one cup of broccoli, however the difference in calories between the two cups is large. Certain foods have more calories while occupying same amount of space. Those are good for weight gain. For weight loss, you want foods that have least amount of calories per cup.

I am guessing in ancient times the priest's words were verbally taught to deformed by the regular folks.

Some phones have adaptive brightness option.
It is not the most precise, but usually you can make it better by setting it to be "low brightness" in "medium low light conditions" such as during artificial lights.
The option is there so you dont have to always be changing brightness.
Created:
If you follow these steps, it is expected that your battery will last at least 20% longer and your phone should be faster too.
To put things in perspective, if your battery lasts 5 hours, following these steps will make it last 6 hours or more.
Reduce the brightness of your smartphone's display
This sounds very simple, but it is so good for battery. Reducing the brightness is the great way to reduce battery usage. Plus, it may also slightly increase phone's performance.
Simply reduce the brightness of display to the lowest point where you still see things on screen.
Turn off Wi-Fi when not in use
This seems easy, but many people leave it on all the time, and that could drain the battery.
Turn off Bluetooth
If you are not using bluetooth, no point to have it on.
Turn off location
If you are not using location at all, there is no point in having it on all the time.
Close background apps
Allowing apps that dont serve any purpose to run in the backround will just drain the battery.
Airplane mode
Airplane mode might help reduce battery usage.
Uninstall unnecessary apps
See which apps you never use, and either uninstall or disable them.
Dont allow your phone to heat up
If your phone gets hot, it damages the battery.
Dont overcharge and dont let battery go low
When charging your phone, ideally you would charge it to 70%-80% and no further.
Also, you should not let battery go under 30%.
If you happen to follow some of these steps such as the brightness decrease, your smartphone will greatly increase in both performance and duration.

I am reading your posts, and I am wondering something: Do you believe that white people cant have a bad life?
Created:

@zedvictor4
So why don't we predate upon them and control them?
If we control them by killing them, what do we do with them after we kill them?
Well, because some people like to overthink the fact that we are omnivorous animals.
The term "omnivorous" simply means "we can eat meat". It doesnt mean "we must eat meat".
Is being slowly mauled to death by a pack of wolves any nicer that being killed in an abattoir?
Wolves need meat to increase their numbers.
In nature, cows are hunted by predators. We are simply restoring how things were.
The "cow number" is a problem with no nice answer to it. They multiplied the amount of cows to the point where there is no "easy way to return all cows to nature".
If we dont feed cows, cows die.
If we feed cows, and dont allow them to reproduce, it will take them a long time to die and they will stop producing milk while we have to continue providing them food.
If we decide to kill a great number of them to get rid of them, that seems to be just cruel.
If we continue with reproducing and killing cows, then that kills even more cows and then we are not acheiving anything.
If we release them into nature, some will be eaten by predators and some will live without us having to feed them.
So out of all options, returning them to nature seems to be the most beneficial to cows, predators and humans.
And where is all this unused pasture and where are all the predators?
Unused pasture lands/abandoned grasslands are spread across the planet, they are not all in one place.

Created:

@YouFound_Lxam
So are you saying we should encourage, people to live this way, and not make it a plan to abolish it/make it illegal?
The plan is to encourage people to live this way.
The way I see it,
if everyone agrees to not eat meat, then the meat industry will be abolished as no one will eat meat.
If plenty of people agree not to eat meat, farmers will reduce the number of cows they have.
In this case, meat industry will be reduced.
The plan is not "to make it illegal" in any sense.
Created:
-->
@zedvictor4
The alternative would be not letting cows reproduce further after their first calf, in case that calf is female.
I was thinking between "controlling reproduction to reduce their numbers" or "releasing cows to the unused grasslands".
The idea of releasing them sounds a bit better.
Created:
-->
@zedvictor4
We will also end up with either millions of surplus cows, or millions of gallons of surplus milk.
I think I mentioned before that surplus cows are to be released on grasslands unused by humans so that they are controlled by predators.

enforcing that would be taking away American rights
I feel like I already said nothing would be enforced.
have to mass produce milk and eggs, therefore farming cows, and chickens in factories
Unless, of course, we all agree to abolish factory farming and focus on pasture farms.
Also the fact that killing insects would hurt their feelings, and make them suffer
Surely a less of an evil than killing a cow.
high demand from the American people
Unless of course americans agree that one liter of milk daily is enough. That being said, 0.6 liters is usually enough, but I feel generous.

then give out solutions that require the mass production of animals
No, I already said we only need 700 million cows for milk, but we have over a billion.
Meat wont be replaced by milk and eggs, but by plants and milk and eggs. Out of those 3, plants are dominant.
Milk and eggs are only there for some vitamin b12 and taste.
Of course, we could replace milk and eggs with insects, but until I see more insect farms and eating insects is not being looked down upon, I will rule out insects as a solution.

people need the right to buy as much food as possible
In that case, they should become vegetarian. Vegetarian food is much cheaper than meat and doesnt spoil as quickly.
If this plan takes action, it would take away many rights from many people.
I doubt it would take away any rights. It is on voluntary basis. No one has to become a vegetarian or stop eating meat or stop factory farming. However, a farmer has every right to stop factory farming if he chooses. And buyer has every right to stop buying meat, if he chooses.

To Polytheist-Witch:
Milk cows live on farms. They are milked twice a day in a barn then put out to pasture.
There are farmers who choose factory farming. There are also small farmers who choose to "keep cow in barn all the time and bring it food" instead of letting a cow outside on a pasture.
Created:
-->
@YouFound_Lxam
No, but to mass produce these things, we would need factories.
Actually, no. There is a good amount of farmers choosing pasture over factory farm.
The production rates arent significantly different.
We need less than 800 million cows to get enough cow milk for all humans. Currently, we have over 1 billion due to meat demand.
We have multiplied the cows too much. There is too many of them. Since we dont need them all, we can set free those who are surplus.
Of course, people becoming vegetarians would make farmers focus on milk production. Also, buying milk that comes from pasture farms would help too.
Since vegetables usually produce at least double the amount of food per acre than cows, we will not be in any food deficit. We will end up in surplus if we convert more land to vegetable farming as opposed to cow farming.
Created:
-->
@YouFound_Lxam
But in order to mass produce eggs, we would have to imprison chickens, and they have rights too, don't they?
Actually, chickens dont need to be imprisoned in a factory. There is this thing called pasture. Just let them walk around on a grassland eating insects and wild edibles. No need to imprison them.
And also, for milk, and cheese, we would have to have a lot of cows.........in factory's..........producing milk.
Cows dont need to be imprisoned in a factory to produce milk. Pasture is better. It is like setting them free, but still getting milk from them.
But we aren't going to eat them, so they will spend all their lives producing milk, and then we would have a surplus in cows, and dead cow body's. That is free protein going to waste.
Actually, we wont have a shortage of protein. Vegetables, nuts, grains, insects, milk, eggs - they all have protein.
If a cow dies, it is not a waste. It can be converted into fertilizer or fed to wild animals.
Surplus in cows can be controlled by separating males from females on pasture farms from time to time, and in nature it is controlled by predators.
But don't insects have feelings too? What says that they can't have feelings and emotions?
I think that its due to the difference in brain size. Insects have much much smaller brain. If I had to choose between cows and insects, I would go for insects.
The claim "give the animals their land back" does mean we will have to give up some of the land.
But with more land being used for plants that produce 10-40 tons of food per acre, it feels like we will end up in surplus after all.
That being said, we need to divide the land between ourselves and animals. Currently, plenty of land is used on animals to produce meat from them. If that land is transformed into pasture for milk and eggs, and some of it for plant production, and some of it being free and given to animals, that would be great.
Created:

You can live on "plants and eggs" or "plants and milk" or "plants and insects" or "plants and cheese".
Personally, I chose to live on "plants, milk, cheese, and eggs".

I am not justifying everything that Trump did. No president is perfect.
I saying "He is better than Bush, he is better than Obama, and he is better than Biden".
He is right in his policy "we need to make a deal" as opposed to "we need to make a war".
Trump became president at a very bad time. In 2016, there was civil war in Ukraine, there was ISIS, there was war in afganistan, there was nuclear Korea, there was about to be nuclear Iran, and there was China turning aggressive. Then there were plenty of issues like investigations, impeachment, media spreading misinformation, then migrants and problems with them, then there was covid...
Is the man perfect? No. But you cant say that Biden is a better alternative. I dont prefer the "China, Korea, Russia, Iran" uniting against USA.
Russia alone is hard to deal with, so at this point we might as well say that we have a new cold war and all countries will have to pick a side.
Created:
You just summed up that man's life.
No, if you read my argument, you will see that it talks about the specific situation occuring before the meeting, and that it changed after Trump's correct decision to make a meeting. This was Trump fullfilling his promise he made in the elections. You might not remember that promise, but I will never forget it.
Created:
Rewind a bit more please.
If you are talking about the hostilities that happened before the meeting, it is mainly due to the fact that Trump didnt understand the situation well enough to make a clear judgment. Everyone was saying to him that North Korea is the enemy, but he made an election promise that he will go to North Korea to make a deal and he did.
Created:
Rewind a bit. Why did Trump have to visit NK?
Trump likes to make deals and to understand the situation. After he went to North Korea, he talked with Kim in person and he understood the situation better and knew how to make a deal that will satisfy both sides.
Created:
Imagine trying world war 3 with Iran and North Korea.
Trump made peace with North Korea, went to North Korea and argued for relaxed approach in the future.

, but it doesn't matter because there dying, and that problem will be solved.

Animals of course feel pain, but not at the psychological level of a human. So what you feel as depressing is not the same as what an animal feels as depressing.
This is a very strange claim. You admit that animals feel depression, just not in the same way as you. However, "not human" does not equal to "no depression". Humans always try to make themselves special, and make their pain more special than the pain of others. The reality is, "the pain of animals" matters irrelevant of if it is the "same pain as yours" or "half as yours".
So one could say that your claim of "difference in pain" is irrelevant even if correct.

The idea of "Education system improvement" suggested by Best.Korea
Education system improvement is an idea that plans to transform an education system to a more suitable one, where children are motivated to learn and that produces great results as confirmed by the historical application of the system.
Education system improvement is a method of rewarding knowledge with money from the very start of the person's education.
From the start of the person's education and during kindergarten, money rewards are to be introduced for problem solving and tasks.
Education system improvement is to be implemented in all schools. Students are to be rewarded with money when they achieve a certain grade. Higher the grade, higher the money reward. The grade should represent a solved task. If someone solves a very difficult task, he should get more money. A congratulation is also desirable to occur.
Education system improvement means "to reward a student with money for every successfully completed task". We already have seen many studies done on "rewarding children for tasks". Now we need to demand that the "reward system" presented by "Education system improvement" is implemented on a large scale to achieve grand results.
Education system improvement is also consisted of implementing AI technology in education to further improve the education with revolutionary power of technology.
Countries that implement "Education system improvement" will have great advantage in the education of their population properly
