This. I played live mafia with family before... Its all just baseless accusations and bandwagoning the loudest cousin lol. It was a horrible experienceThe rules are essentially the same, but it is still a very different game. I've read some of the mafia games on this site, and internet mafia has a very different (and in my opinion better) dynamic than live mafia. In internet mafia, there is time to apply logic to the game. Live, it looks more like the proverb "The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him." (Proverbs 18:17, ESV), but with the bandwagon forming so fast that the cross-examiner never has time to speak. Basically, the first two or three accusations stick with almost no opportunity to explain why the accusations are illogical. Once accused, you will be accused again and again until lynched, and logic and facts can just go jump off a cliff.

That depends entirely on his willingness to gamble. If he decides that cops, watchers, and trackers will likely target others and not him, he might try it. On the other hand, if he's conservative, he will protect himself rather than ensure a kill. If he does try to kill someone without being a strongman and that someone is protected, would we be told about it, and, if so, how much would we be told?

If this were a conventional game I would say we should drag it out, but what real info are we going to get now? Also this is just a quickfire to fill time while warren gets his game up. I am okay with going to the night phase now, maybe we can get some useful information from people's night actions tonight.Should we vote for no lynch now, or wait in hopes of getting more info?

That sounds like a good idea. However, are there any roles the nightmare could choose to avoid all night actions? I've read the mafia rules and possible roles, but I can't remember off the top of my head.
Not that I know of but this isn't a conventional game. Sounds like mafia can make up whatever and see what the mod allows. There's a role called "Ninja" that makes it so mafia won't show up on tracker or watcher reports though. I imagine they would have to choose between that or godfather, not sure mod will allow both. But I have never seen a game like this.
Also, do you think we should do purely investigation with watchers and trackers, or try some protection with doctors as well?
Well now that I think about it... What's to stop mafia from using strong man ability? Strongman pierces through protective roles. Hmm...

Well that too. I would suggest people get creative with their roles, tracker, watcher results are probably more useful investigative roles if we don't mislynch today.I just realized that cops might be useless. Since the nightmare can also use a dream ability, he would just make himself a godfather every time.

Depends on if we get a mislynch today. If we mis-lynch we get an automatic LYLO the following phase, in which I am dis-inclined to believe any results. Might be worth considering a no lynch today unless there is really scummy behavior we just can't ignore.

Not a high chance at all, actually. A very low chance. Considering game balance, I would say its safe to assume with 5 players there is only one who is mafia. Two mafia means that one mislynch equals a mafia win. So if you are town with a vigilante kill you have only a 25% chance of correctly killing mafia in the first night.Also if we all blindly use a kill tonight, theres a good chance the game would be over np1, that sounds what I think would qualify as "Gamebreaking". Also a lot less fun than actually scum hunting and finding out scum through behavioral analysis tactics.Not really, if we all go kill random people then there's a high chance one of those blindly selected people are mafia.
Rather, I think the correct move would be for town to use as many protective type roles as possible. If mafia gets two kills and two mis-lynches they win. I'd hope to see doctors and bulletproofs tonight.

Jailer was more in line with what the garthim actually do in the show. It was also a tease of info that there might not be an every night doc in the game.
Warrens role was a bit swingy but I think it swung in mafia favor slightly more which is why it had the caveat it did. I mostly liked the idea of a role where a player has control over his own fate early on. I did a role similar to this in kill bill mafia a while ago i think

Night Actions:
Thank you to everyone who played in this game! My main reason for choosing this theme was to advertise this new show on Netflix! It was fantastically made, and I hope some of you had a chance to learn more about this cool universe while researching roles etc. If you did share your thoughts on the dark crystal with me!
As far as the game goes it was absolutely crazy!
Day phase 1 Drafterman got really unlucky. Funnily enough, Drafterman had a solid claim. The podlings as a group of characters was actually a role that would have been included in the game, but was removed because of downsizing from 13 to 10. Then AROSE fake CC’ed him him as Hup (not sure that neccarily counts as a CC, but it would have hurt him). Not sure what AROSE was thinking there. If drafter was town he would have really screwed over his team there, he basically lied about his claim and CC’ed drafter over a strong gut feeling drafter was guilty. Well it would have turned out horribly for him if Drafter didn’t claim JOAT right after. That sealed drafters fate. Obviously drafter wouldn’t have had a way of knowing that there was a town role connected to his that was also JOAT so it wasn’t necessarily a bad play, just really unlucky on his part. I am really surprised that this worked in towns favor, and I seriously am not trying to be a dick, but I think AROSE plan (while successful) was a bad town play. It worked for him out of extreme luck. Draftermans luck worsened that night phase when he killed Warren. Warren’s role was designed to be a bit swingy, the original game just had 3 mafia and no 3rd party. I changed it when I was only able to get 10 and warrens role was made. I figured the best way to balance 3 mafia would be to do it the way I did, and have them not be able to communicate with warren or know who the ascendency was if he chose to join them. Warren did try dropping hints to mafia in Day Phase one when he first mention affiliation changing roles, but I guess that would be kind of a stretch for mafia to pick up on. Their night kill choice wasn’t a bad one, just unlucky again.
Day Phase 3 is where towns luck started turning around IMO. I don’t know why this Speed VS supa thing meant one or the other was town. Greyparrot did awesome staying undercover.
I had a feeling all that time spent deliberating a decision was gonna be ultimately pointless. At the ens of the day he still only had a 50/50 shot of hammering correctly and didnt even make a detailed analysis for his decision so overthinking might have hindered instead of helped. But supa had some bad play so I kind of figured he would have been lynched.
Thoughts on the game? How was the balance?
