My character is A.J.
Same goes to you. Is there any sort of bridge between your character being A.J. and being vanilla? Or are you just A.J. and vanilla?
Created:

@Greyparrot
Is that literally your justification or is that what you interpreted the justification to be?I am vanilla because everyone loves me as a salesman
For example was it closer to ex: A or B
Ex A: you are Jim Halpert, because your just a well loved salesman, you are a simple vanilla.
Ex B: you are Jim Halpert, a well loved salesman. You are vanilla.

GreyParrot claims like that whether he is town or scum. Not the best strategy but that's just how he do.And we're not vtling him because...?

I'm really curious to know what "ByEkLsT" is.
It's something A-R-O-S-E Does to try and counter claim mafia. It's a soft claim that he later explains.
In this game puH was "Hup" backwards, a podling character.
In this game he used a decryption tool.
I think it's worth noting that in the first example even though he was town, he also lied about his character soft claim. So basically I wouldn't invest too much stock in the claim.

@drafterman
It's an obscure claim. Meaning it could be scum trying to avoid a CC. But if he hasn't seen the office, it's unlikely he'd just come up with that on his own. But we're only taking his word he hasn't seen the office. Also, any idiot can look at a wiki.
I definitely think he's smart enough to have researched that character real quick. If what he says is true about only playing live mafia, he shouldn't know what a PGO is, which is what his action was in NP2 of lucid dreamers. So he did some research to see what roles would be effective in that game. It's not beyond him to look up an obscure character claim IMO. And I am with you about it feeling like he is playing up the noobiness at his convenience. I don't know if this is lynch worthy material but it definitely airs him more scum leaning IMO.
But it's more than that. There is a thematic split. Is it pro-michael/anti-michael? Is it Scranton branch vs. other branches?
We will find out in coming phases i'm sure.

Apparently he's only in 3 episodes of the officeI can't say why, but I don't like that claim.

I am curious how Jim is not a power role, but just Vanilla according to GP
The mod said this "Roles may or may not be related to characters."
I am sure there is some thematic element, but that qoute makes me not wanna look to into it. Also the type of show this is, seems like it would be pretty hard to say which character is a power role or not given that all characters are wierdo non powerful humans in an office setting.
Also warren seems the type of mod who cares about balance more than thematic relevancy. I had to do the same in my Dark Crystal game. Some characters who arguably deserved more of a power role, "Deet" for example, were vanillas for the sake of balance. However I still had some characters with thematic roles. Character claims will still be useful for CC's, etc. But I wouldn't focus to hard on role justifications.

@drafterman
No one should be claiming roles anyway. How do you think I was able to off all the power roles in TUF's last game?All the Vanillas outed themselves.
This. Vanilla is a crazy powerful role, it annoys me how quickly people claim. Mafia killing a vanilla is a big win.

The day phase just barely started, actually. This game is more active already than my first day phase in dark crystal was in the same time period lol. Also more people will be active, but I know some people are probably at work.There seem to be a lot of inactive players.

@ILikePie5
Oh snap I missed you on the player list, sorry bud. Yeah It's been a minute since we played together but I definitely remember you being one of the better players. I'll have to see how your play has progressedWhat am I chopped liver?
I’d disagree. I think we should lynch someone, otherwise we’ll be at square one again.
I'm all for day phase 1 lynching, I am just not sure I am down with policy lynching and would prefer a VTNL. I have seen and been a part of policy lynches as town against someone who is probably town but playing poorly. The policy lynch thing seems more about teaching the person a lesson rather than having the goal to win. Instead if I think someone's play is going to be consistently bad in any game I play with them if they are town, I'd rather just opt out of future games with said person than lose more precious mis-lynches over someone who is probably town and just being an idiot.

@ILikePie5
Id like to lead a behavioral lynch before the end of the day phase but if we are really stuck i'd probably prefer a no lynch.

Glad you likes it. I realized that night results would screw me more than anything so i mever actually visited anyone in this game, I just made other people carry out the night kill. The no lynch dp1 was helpful because it forced a mylo. I was a bit worried someone would bring up that we could technically vtnl until we are at lylo forcing a 50/50 (which you did) so luckily the sensor claimed forced a dichotomy between you and supa. Also I got lucky there wasnt many killing roles used though your pgo could have screwed me if I didn't have water carry the kill. That was pretty clever

I play with large balls as town. Go big or go home.
Well as we all know, proving ones testicle size is paramount to a winning town strategy.

@SirAnonymous
The reason I assume you've played before is because you picked up on the understandings of roles very easily. You didnt question the sensor role which makes me think you've potentially played on DDO where that role was more frequent. Also you just barely said you made yourself a pgo that last night phase. Which was smart btw but thats also not a common live mafia role, something I think would be more likely seen in forum games. Also your name seems like your trying to play anonymously obviously. You dont have a lot of noob tells, tunneling, etc.
I could be wrong but either way glad to have another intelligent mafia player in the community regardless.

I am not 100% sure SirAnonymous is actually a noob. He seemed to pick up on the mechanics pretty quickly in the quickfire we did just barely for only having played live mafia. I could be wrong though.

You were my mafia buddy first time playing mafia lol
I am sorry I do not recall the game.
Will you change your pfp to the mafia game currently going on
?

@Greyparrot
I'd suggest if you are actually town to with-hold vanilla claims so early. IMO vanilla is one of the most powerful tools town has. You can scum hunt freely, and if you are night killed early your death is monumentally less severe to towns progression. I seem to remember your play-style being a bit like this in past games, but can you explain in your own words why you thought full claiming instantly was a good idea?

AROSE, WaterPhoenix, SirAnonymous, SpeedRace and PressF are the only players I haven't really experienced outside of an on-going quickfire game, so I will have to develop my understanding of their playstyles. I am pretty sure I have played several games with oromagi but don't quite remember his playstyle either.
And it's been years since Max has touched forum mafia so I am sure his playstyle is different as well. Though he's played several live mafia he can be quite devious as mafia, and he's a very logical but conservative town player.
Wylted, drafer, greyparrot I think I've got a handle on how they play for the most part though I am sure their individual playstyles have changed and adapted since I've last played with them.
Supa seems an open book, based on his play from my game and the quickfire game, I won't be holding too much weight in non-thought out actions (not saying he gets a free pass, I just understand he is a kid and doesn't think things through often much like I did when I was new to mafia).
Since it's been so long since i've played, I'm gonna be feeling a lot of you out, and probably asking a lot of questions just to get a handle on how you all think and play. It won't necessarily mean I scum read you if I get inquisitive. I am excited for a fun game, looking forward to this.

@A-R-O-S-E
Hey so this is my first game in probably about a year. Obviously I saw your playstyle in my game, and I briefly skimmed some of the endgame comments of MCU. How would you normally describe your playstyle?
Are town gambits like what you pulled in the last game common or rare?

I'm clearly a Trump supporter. As you can see I have a profile picture of the villain skekSil from the dark crystal. He is known because he lies and manipulates. Trump lies and manipulates. Coincidence? I think not!

Interesting idea. Sounds a bit too chaotic for me and I'm not sure how anyones gonna decide on lynches given that the player base know town is the minority. I'll watch the game but probably won't play this time around.

@Vader
Supa why would you vote water? You tracked him and saw him visit no one... Also if you think there is any chance that he is lying then your pegging me as a liar since my results peg him as town. It can only be one mafia.
I think supa just scum slipped
Created:

Well, I already know water is innocent, so I guess that doesn't help this situation much. Lastly I have to hear from water, to see if he has any results to make the decision easier.

Alright thanks for the response. I'll wait for supa and water pheonix's results and input, so likely won't be posting til later this afternoon.

Just curious what was the reason for tracking pressF?I decided to be a tracker during the night and found that PressF went to see SupaDudz during the night.
Also I guess it depends on the mod and how they process night actions, but if PressF was killed I am a bit surprised he was still able to visit anyone.
@Supadudz
Anything happen to you?

Hey guys! So, master plan in effect! Part of the reason I was wanting to end the day phase quicker than usual last day phase was because I had an idea.
Ever heard of the sensor role? I was a bit worried that Speedrace wouldn't know what it is, but surprisingly he did. For those of you who don't know what it is, its a role that allows will tell you how many mafia participated on a lynch in the previous day phase, it's not a crazy common role but was used on DDO before. So with cop, tracker and watcher results able to be so easily skewed I figured early on this would be the best investigative role to use for this game.
I also tried to use a self protect, but was told that it was too much from the mod, so just stuck with the sensor.
My results were that one person on the VTNL wagon is mafia. So I know I am town, that narrows the last mafia member to being between Supadudz and SirAnonymous, meaning WaterPheonix is 100% town.
Now with 4 players left we are absolutely at MYLO. We mis-lynch this day phase, we lose. So, since there is not going to be another day phase, everyone needs to out their night actions and results in entirety. Then I want to hear water pheonix's take before I decide who the mafia is between SA and Supa.
Also I am working a graveyard right now, so chances are I'll be asleep by the time everyone gets on and active, but I'll be posting more tomorrow afternoon. No reason to rush this day phase guys, let's be smart and plan this out.
