SurfShark's advantage on Nord is that it offers unlimited devices, is much cheaper and enables efficient split-tunneling.
If you pick anything other than SurfShark or Nord, you are either paying too much or paying for trash. Find me one exception and I'll 'eat my hat'.
SurfShark says that it offers unlimited devices. It also says that it has an efficient whitelister (split tunneling) mechanism and that it camouflages your connection as HTTPS traffic to your ISP (which is extremely important if you're in an oppressed nation).
Transparency issue 1: Split-tunneling
The problem is lack of transparency and I am going to explain how/why. As soon as you enable split-tunneling with SurfShark, you are not fully camouflaging your connection because it demands Ikev2 Protocol (which they never explain, and your settings will say you're on OpenVPN with UDP but really you have IKev2 with maybe some layer of OpenVPN on top). This is especially true if using the Android or iOS when/if you have their 'whitelister' activated for some apps. It is spitting the connection but operating on a protocol designed for good configuration but less 'pure security' nonetheless I'd say sure, there's no leaks happening but the key is that the apps/programs you make 'whitelisted' will sense you're using a VPN due to how it splits. This means if you think you can just split it like that and the things using your real IP will go 'ah everything is fine' you are so wrong. If you play online poker, use any bank-related programs or something that basically your money and real-life depend on, you can technically be banned for doing this even though you white-listed it. That aside, to truly whitelist a program in Windows with SurfShark is so utterly more complex than they make out with their 'tick the game you want to whitelist' options. The Client you play on is one of many .exe files (Idk what mac has instead of .exe and never ever will care, Apple and me fell out of love a long time ago). If you go through all the .exe files, you often find 'tracker' especially for games that want to ban 2 people playing from the same IP or track cheating or ban-bypassing like that. If you are not running that through your real IP, you can get banned for it. It comes down to how lenient and understanding the tech team is and how recipient to them, the admins are, that determines the mercy given to you when you explain you didn't realise you weren't whitelisting it fully. Note, even when whitelisted fully, split tunneling cannot and will not ever fully work for things like that because it works by it understanding you're blocking tracking and other things with your VPN active and then going 'oh we are lucky to have your real IP anyway but how do we really know for sure?'. If you understand programming, you'll realise why NordVPN is much more honest for only enabling you to have split tunneling on Android and why the only true way to split-tunnel on computers is to have browser extensions with your VPN there and the rest of your computer completely 'exposed'. This registers to games and programs as completely acceptable as there is no way you're faking your IP to them, regardless of your VPN on the browser being active. You can split-tunnel on Android with NordVPN if you read their support guide on IKeV2 but it's not 'easy' to setup ('just a bit easier than medium' is what I'd rank it).
ExpressVPN has the exact same issues as SurfShark with regards to authenticating the split-tunnel but maybe they have a workaround or 'true split tunneling' mechanism, I haven't used their product to speak on it. They charge too much, as do Hotspot Shield. I don't trust any other VPN, because I know how to analyse the proper 'never turn you in' element of a VPN based not only on the wording of their T&C and Privacy Policy but physical things, audits, track record etc.

For those I didn't wrong but you still detest me, I couldn't care less. For those who do not detest me, want you to understand that my quitting of this website is to do with seeking a more private life. One where I don't need to worry about bullies, authorities or any of that. I am becoming a more cowardly person at a first glance but a happier, stronger one in the long run who actually will do things with my life.
I decided to not do the moon landing debate, it may be so good or so bad and controversial, regardless, that I end up famous for it and that's not the kind of heat I want. Believe the Earth is round, that we landed on the moon, that everything is fine or that everything is not. Make your own mind up, I'm not your guardian or guide in this life.
I wish you all the best, seriously, but I will never ever be returning to this website. This time it's real, this time I have truly and utterly decided to do it and not felt pressured into it by anyone other than myself. I had an addiction to online debating, a real genuine addiction. It made me toxic, adversarial and a real cunt even to the admin and if I am to change into a person who cares for others and doesn't just 'fight against them to prove them wrong' I needed the losses, I needed the Ramshutus, the bsh1's and everyone involved from the Castins to the bench's to show me along the way just how wrong it all was.
I was completely incorrect about my role in the world and in life and I have finally understood it all. I have issues, I am angry, unhappy and never really got over a depression that I thought I'd gotten over years ago. I need to finally seek a different path in life and this is the time to fully pursue it, no more 'on and off' I know for a fact what my life was and was not meant to be now. I really wish you all the best and hope this becomes one of the best online debating sites.
I genuinely am sorry for what a cunt I've been even just yesterday on the website, I keep being passive-aggressive, aggressive and the cycle continues and it makes everything a lose-lose situations for me and the people I interact with over time as even those I grow close to want to distance themselves from me. I may end up seeking professional help but I doubt it, I think that finally fully dedicating myself to going on a path of agreement and healing will help me. This is not me denouncing debating itself as a bad thing but I do think once you get too into it, it can begin to alter you as a person and make you fight against everyone around you when all they wanted to do was help you.
I am not saying that I regret all my rivalries to be clear, I'm saying I should have been empathetic to my enemies and their victims instead of deciding my role was the one to 'prove them wrong' and 'bring them down'. I am a healer and lover, that was my role all along but what I've been doing in life so far is anything but that. I don't think I will ever fully change now, I've finished developing my personality pretty much and my core being antagonistic and avoidant will never truly change into being passive and agreeable but I do think I can channel it far, far better and become the best at whatever it is I do without needing to fight everyone while doing it.
I hope you all genuinely forget about me over time but given my place on the forum leaderboards and how much people talk about me, I'm sure it will take a few months to fully eradicate my relevance to the site as the rap battling 'raaaaaah I'm the best' guy who really clearly wasn't actually meant to be that great of a debater but I hope eventually you all fully forgive, forget and move on with your lives here and IRL never thinking twice about me.

I am quoting myself from another thread.I don't want to advertise but a VPN I highly recommend is this one:A VPN that's less good but was one I was previously loyal to (SurfShark is new to the market, only became known in 2019 or so) was this one:Both are extremely trustworthy. They genuinely don't fuck around, I have looked into it. They are heavily dedicated to privacy above all else.HSS has become less good at the whole 'viewing content only available to country X' thing and it has possibly got a webRTC leak (very easy to patch with a chrome extension, and webRTC doesn't leak on Android smartphones) but it's definitely what I'd recommend, aside from NordVPN (owners are shady but it's easily one of the best out there), if you have an IPv6 IP address.ExpressVPN is fantastic but expensive. If you want to literally have a VPN at all times, even while gaming and to use on the game, I'd recommend only ExpressVPN, even Nord is too slow for that. SurfShark has a whitelister that lets you whitelist the game or specific websites where you want your real IP to be interacted with while having a totally and utterly safe VPN-encrypted-tunnel connection with other programs and websites at the same time. That's why I love it.ExpressVPN also offers the 'whitelister' thing but calls it split tunneling. I do not know any other VPNs than SurfShark or ExpressVPN that offer that in such a good way.ExpressVPN is 4-5* the price of SurfShark so...PureVPN offers an almost as good thing that splits by some apps but not websites and not all apps I think. PureVPN is known to log data that they give out to law enforcement and maybe advertisers too (the latter is not confirmed). They are frauds for saying they have a 'no logs' policy but it's not their fault, they are founded in Pakistan and based out of Hong Kong. They didn't realise that Hong Kong is not an actual haven for such investigations. There were some legal loopholes that meant the country worked with the FBI to blackmail PureVPN into defying their no logs policy on some suspects of cyberstalking etc. I am not blaming the company, the problem is they are still based out of Hong Kong. If you think about it, they can and will do the same to you based on any suspicion later on, it's just not a safe bet. So, I don't consider PureVPN worth mentioning.Torguard is also good if you live in an oppressed nation as it has the stealth/camouflage mechanism but the issue with that is that Torguard is owned by a company that is based in the US. Logically, if/when anyone gets suspicious, you're going to be turned over to your nation's authorities in no time.While Hostpot Shield doesn't have the proper stealth mechanism, it works by a very rare thing called Catapult Hydra (which it, itself, helped to innovate the way to make VPN tunnels within, it's usually used for highly secure, less well-known phone carrier networks etc) and basically while your ISP can see you're using VPN, and VPN is illegal in the most significantly oppressed nations, what actually will happen is that HSS will never ever turn you in, they were founded by people who loathed Russian Tyranny, let alone Chinese or Iranian tyranny. So, 'stealth VPN' is important sure but if you're playing out the full scenario, I guarantee you SurfShark or HSS are the two who based on their record will never turn you in and SurfShark has the stealth mechanism on top of it so there's literally 0 drawback to using it, I don't even know how to say this without sounding like an advertiser but I hope someone reads this message before their nation drives them into fear of the Internet and makes a wise decision in life.Do note, purchasing it with cryptocurrency (SurfShark and Torguard both offer this) is the optimal way to go about things if you're in a hyper-oppressed nation. If in a generally oppressed nation, the usual way will work because VPN isn't illegal in most nations in and of itself and it's about picking one that will never turn you in. That's why I will say HSS even though I rank SurfShark above it overall.

You don't create life, make an entire reality and enjoy people being confused about who you are but still want them to pay attention if you're masculine.
Men don't create life in any species at all. You mean to tell me that outside of Earth it's the opposite?
Men enjoy being admired in a direct manner, when in positions of power. Whether boys or grown men pumping with testosterone, males adore being directly praised, known to the 'one' who is best at what they do etc. God, on the other hand, is shrouded in very intentional mystery. God doesn't care that it's vague which one is the real one, God just wants you to know she exists. Girls through to women pumping with oestrogen love being shrouded in mystery. Even the hottest chicks at school that were 'bare as possible' were never quite who you thought they were the more you got to know them. I'm not denying that straightforward, honest women exist but I'm asserting that those women are the most masculine-minded of their gender.
God nurtures reality and controls it much like the average mother does with their child, not like the average father does. If you were to wager your bets on someone who controls reality only when needed and at severely emotional times (miracles) but otherwise lets their children run wild and punishes a lot more through mysterious surprise rewards later than expected and surprise bursts of punishments in ways one doesn't always expect, you'd almost definitely wager this is a mother and not a father. God interacts with reality and runs her justice system in every single religion in a motherly way. I will happily discuss this here but no, I'm not going to take an official debate on it, I already know many religions specify that God is masculine, they are wrong though.

This isn't a callout but it does address haters of mine etc.
I think I have begun to see things a lot clearer now (thanks to a 2 week break to give myself a rest and get on with some real-life things). A website for debating firstly has a major flaw; the owner needs to be a terrified coward. I want you to find me a single debate website, whether monetised or not, where you saw the head mod, admin or anyone who in anyway officially spearheaded the website that actively would engage in debates where they ever took a side that was anything but neutral. There is actually such a website, it's edeb8 and that website is the undisputed biggest failure, excluding Civid, of online debate websites thriving in the long-run.
The issue is something that runs much deeper than 'oh they have to be neutral to be popular and respected enough by the community to lead all kinds of debaters fairly'. See, this is the first issue with debate websites and the mentality they breed in you. You are actually not your opinion, that's something society as a whole gets wrong. You're not the opinions you hold, you're just an animal with a brain capable of processing verbalised concepts that aren't always pieced together soundly. The reason why the progressive outlook is objectively correct is that it's the only outlook where everyone in the society seeks to actually forgive and rehabilitate every other member of the society. You can indeed call it forceful and the right-wingers who say 'oh they are brainwashing us to be tamer and not be so nasty to each other' are actually correct. If you don't cultivate a society where the nasty are pressured into not being nasty, you always will get a society where the nasty bully everyone else who is weird in any shape or form into humiliation and silence. It could even work, theoretically, if you're that psychopathic to find a society nice where the weird and original thinkers cower in corners but the issue is they don't always do that; they get furious, bide their time and bam big bad things happen.
If you don't seek to tame everyone in a society in terms of their urge to hurt each other but then also want to tame their ability to freely express what they feel, then you don't yet understand progressivism (and indeed many 'progressives' by name don't). You can't just sit there saying 'hate speech' and going STFU to someone and expect them to feel loved by the society and partake in it but you also need to rehabilitate someone who is being abusive to others to not want to say those horrible things in the first place and that is what you can call 'brainwashing' but frankly there's no other way to make a society online or IRL work if you don't correctly handle toxic members.

I will like for the experts of the Abrahamic Trilogy to discuss with me why it's likely that Satan is Lucifer.
I would like us to map out the pathing from OT to NT and motive for God to have lied or somehow imperfectly have portrayed his message in OT for there to need to be a NT and later Qur'an.
In my opinion, the logical explanation is that it's Lucifer who became Jesus and that was what he was smited and sent down to become. "Down to" where? Not Hell, that's not even mentioned in the OT ever. Instead, he was sent down to the realm of mortals, as Jesus. Blatantly. Read the entire NT, the storyline doesn't add up at all if Lucifer is the one who became Satan. Why are Jesus and his disciples so mentally incapacitated that they can't refer to Lucifer by his actual name even once? It's because they aren't talking about Lucifer, they are talking about the OT God. Read every single reference to the Devil, AKA Satan. The Devil (the enemy of Jesus, not God) is described again and again as being as ancient as God, from the beginning and the only entity that can ever compete with God and corrupt you in the way God can bless you. If you read other verses from both Testaments it's very blatant that God is the only being as ancient as 'himself' and that 'he' is very clearly the only entity capable of corrupting you in spite of what he could and would bless you with otherwise.
It would not be viable, at all, for a being of limited intellect, power and longevity to keep coming back just as strong to corrupt and even out-persuade God in situations where the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God is somehow defeated by the smarter, smoother-talking Devil. That is totally and utterly ridiculous to suggest unless the Devil is simply a personality that God takes at times and is there to test how much faith you have in his original personality.

This isn't just for the 'Platform Development' thread since it relates to an opinion on the layout of 'Questions' that isn't necessarily held by the majority but I think this can be important if the answer is rude or fantastic.
Firstly, report-flags must be there for questions asked, I don't see why not. Secondly, they more obviously should be there for answers.
Thirdly (and relating to the title) the real issue is that if someone who wasn't that patient and just came to the website, looked at a shockingly repulsive, impressive or whatever answer, it's going to be wrongly attributed to the asker instead of the answerer due to how the avatar on the left of the question in no way at all is obviously the asker.
You may say 'well duh if it's their profile it's their answers' but the title is 'questions' meaning it's entirely viable for someone to think that's what they asked the other user and it's the answers of other users showing up on that profile which is why next to the other person's avatar it says 'Answered: ' with a date.

This is a website that, despite how competitive I myself get, is actually about enjoying ourselves and spending our spare time on.
It is fundamentally recreation, so the aim is to enjoy it and not to endure to do well at it when it comes down to the ultimate aim of the website. Thus, while in a professional environment or something where being a tryhard matters more, I'd less readily block someone than deal with them to get through the day, this website's aim to enjoy myself and walk away satisfied with my time spent.
So, why would I endure or 'face off' hardcore with the trolls who pick on me the most? Of course there's a correlation between people picking on me or angering me by either taking on my ego or being generally belligierent and me blocking them... I don't see why I need to be anything other than a coward with them?! Why not block them? Lol? If someone is harassing me in my recreational time, I block them and say 'see me in a professional environment or get lost out of my life' basically yeah? What the fuck do I want to come to this website to 'endure suffering' to prove something to you guys about how tolerant and great a person I am? Dream on... LMFAO!

You can say 'yeah but look at your rap battles'. Sure, they should be in a separate NSFW format that is 'hidden' from the view of most. I don't really go too far with them but I know someone like Type1 did and I kind of went somewhere dipping my toes in taboo waters in it too. I'd be willing to get rid of rap battles for good from here if it meant censoring content like what I just linked to.
You need to start deleting shit that's too inappropriate or this website is never going to end up on the Google ranking you want it to. Do you honestly think they don't ever have their robot-sensors or human 'ranking analysts' ever once in a while see this content? They do, intermittently I can tell you that now. This is heavily going to affect our site's ranking. Even Type1's debates that he made while leaving will affect the site's ranking.

Recently, without asking us if we wanted it or not, debates have a new option. The defaults as is are 2 Rounds, 10k characters and 'moderated'. The latter was already the norm just not an option, the first 2 have been changed from the old defaults.
Three debates I accepted as 'moderated' would have costed me Elo/rating or gained me elo/rating. Now, because Mike the admin has behind my back gone and not only done this update but post-acceptance changed the debates to be unmoderated on a whim and his personal judgement, I can't gain elo from the debates or lose it.

Alec is much more skilled than I first anticipated. He simply wasn't trying. I have seen in a couple of his latest debates a side to him I didn't know was there.
He is a very powerful persuader who actually comes up with arguments of his own accord and assimilation of facts. This both makes him a good liar and a good spreader of truth, that part is up to him.

Until this song, Stormzy embodied everything wrong with what the fusion of Pop and Rap/Grime was doing to the purity of the rap game but here he uses his politics-pun-heavy way of making the masses roar at the metaphors and jokes in the best way ever.
He uses a style that has in the past been 'yeah, yeah, anyone could write that you are unoriginal and your flow is so broken' and converted it into a tactically cut-up flow where the pausing is intentional and regular makign it part of the flow and his simplistic puns are so utterly well-delivered that it doesn't matter anyway.
It also was the first time he has made his deep voice meet a feminine beat and it goes so well together. His past beats were deep and strong like his vocals and made it unpleasant in vibe overall. Stormzy has gone from one of my least favourite Grime artists to one of the greats by this song alone being the threshold-crosser, he is going up and I look forward to his future stuff.

I get it, he's appointed and we have no say in the matter. I'm curious what the userbase thinks.
This isn't a call-out thread to insult, this is a proper issue that keeps getting buried under the rug.
We need Virtuoso to be the head mod and to let members like myself become the new co-mod. I don't care if Bsh1 still remains in the team or not, he is not too terrible and not too great.
What we have is Virtuoso constantly staggered as he has double the workload of what a 2-man mod team would have and less of the powers and even access behind the hood to ascertain things about some users or disciplining them.
This situation is completely pointless if you guys do trust Virt enough to be doing all the work that Bsh1 is doing but having to run it all through an inactive boss who doesn't just delegate; he shoves his own role without the perks and added data onto Virt and that's fucking unacceptable.
This thread is not about hurting bsh1's feelings, this is about helping the website. I want to know how we are deciding who ends up as a mod or not. I get it, I should shut up he's appointed but fuck off with that; I have too much passion for this website and have helped it blossom from a seed. I love what debating is and what this site is enabling free-thinkers to do online. This may become a revolutionary website some day or a good outlet for nerds. Either way, I want it to become something great. Bsh1 is an obstacle to that because he has all the power to stop everyone else except him and he is not active enough or consistent enough in how he does moderate to please the userbase as is. This is beyond demand vs supply now, he's not just underperforming he is performing so bad that people are often only staying due to the diligent PMing that Virtuoso and myself do behind the scenes as well as the public work that Ramshutu at times does to defend and pursue abusive members without threatening them. Meanwhile the guy with all the power and access is just absent every single time and entitled to stay in his rank. He will say 'but I make MEEPs' yeah you make MEEPs once ever fucking 3 weeks for a website that has been lately dealing out 2 updates a day thanks to the teamwork of myself, Virtuoso Ramshutu and the admin not because of you, bsh1.
I am fucking sick of this and want to know why he is in power undemocratically and undeservedly. From day one, he was opposed by many and I was an avid defender. Over time he managed to displease every single member of the website and please how many? It seems only Virtuoso and the Admin are pleased with him, because they have a sense of camaraderie from 'opposing the masses' in the beginning but I WAS NOT WITH THE MASSES. I defended bsh1 and it's time to admit when someone isn't doing their job right.

Iran is more Arab than Persian in what it is today. What do you think happened to many tribes in Africa? You think 'majority tribes' just had more to begin with? Don't delude yourself, the Jews had proven themselves a truly admirable, tenacious and unbelievably Darwin-supported ethnicity throughout the history prior to Hitler's reign. Yet he called them inferior, even though it was their very superiority that he hated them for and then justified using and abusing them by them being good for nothing else; except manual labour in concentration camps was the one thing they'd never been built for, they're mathematical and strategy-based supreme ethnicity, not physical-endurance based.
So tell me, really, SlaveDevice and all you right-wingers who say that Hitler was actually just a realist. I am becoming gradually less sigma-male and more alpha-male and it's not like a thing I set out to do, I have noticed it most heavily in the past month of my life, I am getting more comfortable with confrontation and level-headed during it as well as fast on my feet whilst enjoying my former mastery of cunning and caution, a lot less than I used to.
I am also feeling much more attractive in general as I carry myself and it has an effect on others around me. It's not about sex alone, it's about drawing people in and making them feel happier and more comfortable. I am enjoying this process, it's quite comforting in all honesty.
