It did seem like whiteflame was kind of playing it safe with his reads. If there's something none of us were picking up on, whiteflame may have pointed it out as town...maybe this makes sense but I'm kind of rambling.

Anything in POE is fine by me.

I think lynching Owen is preferrable to no lynch, but I don't know that it's possible to build a consensus at this point.

I need your reads on this. As town, I think Austin tends to give "safer" lies that have a clear benefit. I don't really buy the role claim, and I think a lot of the benefit Austin is saying resulted from his lie isn't something he could have anticipated. But I don't have as much experience with Austin as you do.

I think Luna or I is going to be a likely target for the night kill. Just to play things safe, I'm going to use my magistrate ability on Luna, and I want all town protective roles to target Luna tonight. Either I die at night or I succeed, but I won't get mislynched.

I'd like a claim from Austin first before a hammer, but he just seems very anti-town to me.

With all due respect, I think you have a tendency to town read Austin when he is scum in situations like this. I've seen scum Austin claim pretty crazy things that got him lynched, or admit to lying because he thinks it's his best way out when he thinks he's trapped. Reminds me of a few games ago when he claimed miller because he thought I was going to investigate him.

If you believe that, then you probably believed I would be an easy target to mislynch. Operating under the assumption that I'd be easy to get rid of day 1 is a huge self report.

Kind of hard to do when you've admitted to lying about your role and aren't willing to come clean. Furthermore, I did assume you were town for like 80% of the day phase and pushed Luna based on that belief.

I don't see why drawing attention to yourself early on is indicative of towncred. It's in scum's interest to push town players.

Austin is willing to 1f1 someone he's not 100% sure is scum. Sounds more like a TP lyncher move than a town move. Maybe the not 100% thing is because he's scum and wants plausible deniability later.

There are 4 possibilities:

1. Austin is town, I am scum

2. Austin is scum, I am town

3. Austin is TP, I am town

4. Austin is scum, I am scum, and he's busing me.

If (3) is the case, then lynching me first means you waste two lynches. However, if you lynch Austin first, you waste only one lynch maximum.

I think Austin being scum is the best explanation because TP doesn't makes sense with his claimed character. Even if he's third party, lynching him confirms me.

If he was really day cop, he would have said so to lynch scum. Instead he's going to jump from claim to claim in the hopes of having an out.

Austin is scum or third-party lyncher and will claim day cop shortly. All he said earlier was "How would you feel if I said there's one scum in you, Wylted, and Savant?" and he refused to specify his role. This is to give himself plausible deniability later. Because claiming day cop day 1 and saying you found scum will make people suspect you of being TP.

One benefit of lynching Austin though is that he could be scum, and mathematically we waste the least number of lynches. Lynching Luna and I just to find out that Austin is third party is basically handing the win to scum.

Now operating under the assumption that Austin is third party, he can't ask about characters. This makes it harder for him to fake his character, and holding steadfast when he got counterclaimed is further evidence that he probably is Maya Fey. This doesn't really add up, since I don't see anything in Maya Fey's wiki that would have to do with a third party lyncher.

Though it's possible Austin did lie about his character and stuck to his guns when counterclaimed, or that there's something about Maya I'm not seeing.

But if you buy this 3rd party thing, it means I'm probably town.

I just realized something. The description says "This is a 9-player game with 2 mafia players." It does not specify 7 town players, which makes me think there is probably a 3rd-party role. In which case, that 3rd party is probably Austin.

Especially if you think he could be a third party lyncher.

If you think that Austin is lying, vote for him and pressure him to reveal the truth. Don't lynch me because Austin is lying.

I'd like your input on this. Luna's annoyance feels genuine to me, and if it is, I think it's more likely to come from town. But I know I'm town, and so it may be the case that Austin is lying about his role. I can't help but remember that he claimed his three results after Luna had accused WyIted.

And he'd have to use one of his asks to see if Mia is in the game, or he'd have to be Mia and realize there are two characters with similar names. All in the span of 2 minutes.

If he came up with it, I agree he would do it. But the odds of him even thinking of it in those 2 minutes are pretty low. I sure didn't. It being a genius move doesn't make it more likely the idea would occur to him.

I don't think it's WyIted, and I think that zero investigative roles are unlikely. Lynching you is the most logical play from my perspective.

Yes, but how am I more scummy than Luna? Luna tried to avoid being in the POE by basically any means necessary and refuses to give any information. Between me and Luna, it just makes more sense to lynch him first.

Help me lynch Luna, and if it's not him, you can assume I'm scum tomorrow if no investigative role claims they caught Austin.

I'm pretty confident that either Luna is scum or that a town investigative role will catch Austin tonight. Help me lynch Luna, and you can assume I'm scum tomorrow if he flips innocent. I really don't want to get tunnel vision, but I just don't see my read on Luna changing this day phase.
