His worldview is genuinely so black and white, that he categorizes people as either friends or enemies. Whereas I don't really see him as either.

The sad part is that 2 years ago, I was perhaps the harshest towards him and the one he describes as having bullied him the worst. (With the exception of Bench or Ramshutu perhaps, but I wasn't around for those rivalries.): There are necessary clarifications about the Lancelot ban needed to be made by mods.
I returned here recently; he came back after I did. I tried extending an olive branch and being civil, but then it didn't work out. Especially when he tried the coup thing on whiteflame.

You are inciting a revolution and encouraging the site to participate. And now you're withholding important information. Which means one of three things.:
- You didn't think this through. You saying you won't leak details is actually you saying you don't have any.
- You're not confident it will work. And you don't want to spill the beans because it would be obvious to everyone else.
- You plan to do something that you know people will not agree with.
You are expecting the community to stake the stability of this platform by gambling their trust in you to achieve some mysteriously vague plan. If your bulletproof formula is to rely on The Lord, then there are far more feasible directions and pathways to take.

Your ability to succeed with this revolution is not the problem you need to worry about. The problem is even if you do succeed, you no longer have a workable plan.
You have no contingencies for backup mod candidates, no CoC revisions or substitutes, or any marketing strategies.

The last paragraph is literally what we are going to do. We also will be advocating him to cut ties with the mods that have run this place into the ground.
That’s a very big mistake for multiple reasons.:
- The current mods, despite their shortcomings, have experience and dedication. Their roles as assets are not expendable, especially now.
- We have no guarantee that the replacements will even be competent, or if they’ll be active. They haven’t proven anything yet. What’s the backup plan if the successors are worse than the predecessors? Another coup?
- Most site staff are paid. So any new mods will likely expect some form of compensation. Our current mods are unpaid volunteers who have shown they are fine not being paid.
And this raises another obvious question, why do we need to get rid of the current mods?
If the problem is they’re too weak, and they operate like a democracy. That only suggests we need more mods. Stronger mods, with a backbone. Providing pushback would be enough to persuade whiteflame to use stronger enforcement.
Cutting ties with all of them, when they’re shortstaffed as it is, with no guarantee of an adequate amount of replacements or finding anyone reliable is just too big of a risk.

I am open to that conclusion, I came to it multiple times before but one thing that kept me from staying quit is hope.

This is the most honest I'm ever going to be.: I don't care about the site politics, or these one-sided revolts.
There are only two things I care about.: Recreational debate and casual forum discussions.
That's it.
I have my own ideas of how the site should operate, but suggestions and beliefs are all they'll ever be. This site is not worth fighting for and if it can't be changed through diplomatic appeal or policy reform, then forget it. It's a lost cause anyway.
These coup attempts and power struggles are genuinely the goofiest thing about this platform.
This post is not even a sign of passion or dedication, it's obsession. Persistent and unrelenting devotion to a futile cause.
Very few people will be inspired by this call to action, but for those of you actually considering it, I highly encourage you to hop on board.

My policy ideas are suggestions, a means to an end. Not expectations or requirements. I do not have any strong feelings on the subject.
I have no desire to win or play games.

That only attracts people who desire uncomfortable ideas be censored; the site that does this will attract the most intellectually dishonest debaters possible.And of course, you forget that the freedom to have an open debate about some very controversial opinions could be good marketing of its own, especially when you remember this is a debate website where you’re supposed to debate.
There is nothing in the appeal that calls for abolishing free speech. Total censorship is an Adaptable concept.
Placing strict restrictions on harassment, hate speech, and discrimination are not limiting free speech either. While there are a lot of gray lines, and vagueness leaves room for interpretation. That only means extra clarification and expectations are required to draw the lines. Most of it is self-explanatory.
Racial slurs, nazi symbols, derogatory language, or normalizing stereotypes are all obvious examples.
Placing standards like these are not a violation of ethics.
Controversial subjects can and should be allowed. But this site should change to open itself up to a more mainstream demographic.

This is already kinda stupid. “Hateful” is very subjective and in most cases where it can be somewhat agreed upon, context is almost never considered. Plus, I think people do have the right to be hateful. It is free speech, despite what your local professor of Islamo-Marxian Genderology would say.

There is no long-game plan that I'm aware of, and his goal has changed course several times over the last 2 years.
From what I've observed, the only thing that has remained the same is the demand for stronger enforcement, and policy reform (or just cracking down on certain behaviors.).
But this demand for change and quest for power has been going on since 2018.

I adjusted the response time to 3 days which was more than enough to accommodate you.
And there's already restrictions in place that prevent people from claiming victories by forfeiting a round 2 and then spamming in round 3.
Judges voting on that are nearly required to ignore the final 3 spam, and most will.
But assigning all 7 points based on that? Not only is that unnecessary, but extreme.

That's a system that voids debate of purpose or meaning, since you're essentially creating a system that enables weaponized vote-bombing.
Are there even enough resources that describe what a blitzkrieg is and what it isn't, or are voters free to justify assigning all 7 points to whatever side they want based on how they interpret what blitzkrieg means?
No point in wasting three rounds having a pointless discussion, since voters are able to tactically exploit a loophole to reward all points to whichever side they prefer.
If we're going to do this. At least, properly clarify what a blitzkrieg is. (No new arguments) Perhaps, be a little more specific on that.
If this legislation gets passed, I suggest all debaters to either forfeit the final rounds or give a one sentence answer.
