Making guns illegal worked almost everywhere else in developed nations, especially for school shootings, surveillance is a very good idea when it comes to spotting dangerous individuals.
The United States has a pretty good surveillance apparatuses. As well as a continue that prides itself in freedom,can have anyway.
I don't think you can point to any examples of countries with a lot of school shooting shooting problems, that fixed them with gun control. The main reason being, that it's a pretty american problem. At least to my knowledge.

Number of guns might have a tiny impact on school shootings, but it isn't the biggest or main impact.
I Don't think anybody seriously suggests arming students as a solution either. I heard some thought experiments about arming teachers, but nothing seriously suggested.
Some liberals are blaming guns, as just a convenient thing that appeals to voters, but the actual solution to these problems would involve oth unpopular measures and also policies too complicated to appeal to the masses, so you get politicians parroting shit like.

Equal guilt, first degree murder for both parties. The murder could not happen without the willing participation of both. Without the hiring, the killing would not happen. Without a willing killer, person A could not do the hiring. The sentence would be whatever the state sentence is for murder 1.
The difference is that the killing would happen with or without person 3. If person 3 turned down the money for killing than somebody else would have likely accepted it.
We also have to keep in mind everyone has their price. A list of prices that could be paid to a hit man.

The lawsuit is clearly bullshit. Derschowitz was also accused of similar outlandish things. I read his book on the subject which is still on Amazon and he reasonably defends this.
You can read the book in one sitting and it is available free. I urge you to do so and check his citations about the response to these false accusations. Also despite him being a very influential person he is apparently easy to track down and is willing to talk about this incident if you have any questions not already answered in the book.
Also Trump insi using he is God is in line with his beliefs and aren't that extreme. Look into "new thought" he did attend a new thought church for a long time and I think his ideology is in line with that, despite the fact he doesn't really discuss his beliefs.
It's a similar thing to the Buddhist that God is all, and since we are a part of that all, we are also God.
New thought philosophy is not really that rare but is usually something very private and not openly talked about like other types of philosophical religious movements.

Statues are how we glorify our history, which is in turn a public statement of our values.

I think maybe non Americans get this opinion from seeing statues basically be worshipped in non American countries. Like the Saddam hussein statue that was toppled.
This is why statues of people still alive are disgusting. It is an attempt to seek worship.
Generally speaking it is a piece of art work to remember things from the past.
If you see a statue of a confederate general, it is not supposed to make you fawn over him. It is supposed to inspire you to learn about the individual and his part in history.
Even statues of people we like are supposed to do that.
it's okay to have heroes, but making a hero into a statue is a form of worship and should reserved for God.
The south should not ignore or be proud of their history. It's easy to forget the reason for all the bloodshed back in the Civil War era, and removing confederate statues does more to make people forget than to remember.
With that said, if somebody happens to topple them

Each generation is significantly more Democratic and Liberal than the last. The 18-35 year-olds vote Democratic by nearly a 2 to 1 margin. The percentage of Americans who identify as Liberal has doubled since 2000.
When I say liberalism is dying I clearly did not mean people are not becoming more open to things like gay marriage, abortion having a welfare state, socialized medicine etc.
I was speaking of liberal values such as democracy, freedom of speech and rule of law.

The elections aren't fair. I know the response to a mass awakening on that will be scary. If people feel they have no voice they are basically forced to political violence. Capitalism has a huge vested interest in portraying communism as intrinsically unjust and anti freedom. They cannot afford to let people know that they could be free of the cult of work and the exploitation of corporate interests.
I'm all for taking down the system. It kinda sucks, but when you see what people claiming to have been communists have done with Venezuela and Cuba or what pol pot and mao and Stalin have done while flying the communist flag, it's understandable why people would equate it with totalitarianism.
Also if you are familiar with communism, than you do realize that an oppressive totalitarian regime always precedes the communist state. I think Marx wrote a lot about this.
There is nothing wrong with sacrificing for some future benefit, but how exactly do we know the benefit is worth it since this is all theoretical? How do we know the totalitarian who precede communism will actually be able to have their power removed?

I don't think that blanket label does much to actually combat antisemitism. It is certainly over used by some people to apply to anything.
Some people who would be labeled antisemitic are merely conspiracy theorists who think there is a secret Jewish mafia running the world and those people would certainly not include the majority of jews in their views. Is it fair to call them antisemitic? Is it even accurate? When we say the non jews in power are largely are the bad guys, would we say that person is anti white? If they are speaking the truth, than we need to listen without hand waving.
