I’m going off past experiences with earth but he’s been playing mafia since at least 5 years ago and his reads and behavior are largely the same. I don’t know how to say it tactfully but I think a lack of experience or growth in play is typically when someone will slip.

Tbf I don’t know much about Ana but from last game and this game she seems levels headed?  (Outside of the random Omgus that’s happening right now) Maybe I’m wrong on this. But just initial impressions and seeing the same earth I saw 5 years ago or so leads me to believe he will prob fuck up under pressure. 

Alright. Hey Pie, I finally got some reads.

Savant and Casey are hard town for me. Banana is slightly less town for me, but still pretty town.

For my null reads, its something like Pie > Mikal > Wylted = WF. I don't appreciate Mikal death tunneling me. I think its pretty stupid and his logic doesn't really pan out. But, granted, I am town so maybe I am biased. WF does similar things, even in games where I am town. Pie is playing as he usually does, but he is a touch inactive compared to his usual. WF hasn't done much yet and I almost forgot Wylted was playing. Austin and Moozer haven't posted yet, NAI for Moozer. I get Austin might be busy, but I definitely think we should get input from him. I'm obviously not going to suggest we lynch myself, so maybe if Austin will be the lynch if he continues as he is.

Inactives or lack of content is always an easy push. As mafia or town, but if you don't address the issue early it makes it harder late game. 

How would you solve it? 

You don't pressure him, and he just sticks around to the end of the game without ever taking a hard stance and then you are trying to decipher whether he is town or scum with nothing to go off of and it's lylo. 

He is exhibiting behavior that is not towny, and on top of that is not actively taking stances. That is where you put pressure early so it's

1) easier to solve late game

2) easier for him to slip if you lock him into something early

Okay, now #215 does make me raise my eyebrows. I don't think I've ever seen Earth act this genuinely offended before as town.

Earth prior to anna because I think he is more likely to fuck up a claim. 

They can use this role at night to control a players vote during the following day phase. They can use it anonymously. 

Though tbf I've seen Austin show up late and then start posting up a storm. Not sure we'll need a claim from him.

I also have an alternative strategy for claiming shows: everyone does it at once. We all find an online clock, paste our shows in the thread, and at the exact same second (as it strikes 7 oclock EST, for example), we hit enter, submitting our characters to the thread. Scum have no time to look for competing claims to see what's taken.

Lynching on odd numbers gives you an extra Lynch

Where as passing on even allows you a night if info before you munch. 

Assuming no other killing roles exist which you never know. But that’s always been a meta 

What do you make of Mikal claiming he was doing a reaction test? I have never played with him before and barely even skimmed any of the last game, so I don't really know anything about his playstyle and whether or not he'd do something like that.

Hmm, I don't like this post from Pie. Has he ever stated anything against the idea of pressuring players in general? I also don't agree with Savant that this is a townslip at all, it doesn't read as uninformed of the amount of fakeclaims scum have been given -- note the singular nouns 'character' and 'role claim'.

You think so? Personally, I'm in favor of the town almost always trying to lynch someone except possibly at MYLO. (I didn't use to feel that way, but I've come to accept it as the best strategy overall.)

Pie - Pie is engaging and following his normal meta. I don’t think he has posted fluff or tried to detract with theme analysis or other vague concepts. Usually scum pie will lead the town on a goose chase and the fact he isn’t taking us in a single direction and just giving thoughts that are game related make me think he is town 

Wylted - I don’t think wylted as scum just outright keeps antagonizing me. Both this game and last he’s just been a passive aggressive little shit and I feel like as scum it doesn’t make sense to draw attention like that 

Savant - tbf this is just a guy read and I skimmed the shit about probability. I never buy into probability in mafia just because of to man varying factors. You have the basic odds and determined by scum to town ratio and that’s it. You can’t control how people act. The post in general seems like geninue scum hunting and analyzing why people are saying and posting things. Could be feigned and don’t know him at all to know how meta but it reads in good faith 

Lean scum 

Earth - one post, was here no initial rv and no value. Could be flying under the radar

Cassie - same 

(Tbf these are weak reads but when people participate and not move the game forward, my head goes to coasting) 

Stronger Scum 

Banana - the post wanting to immediately soft claim a year and being willing to do that with 0 pressure just sits wrong with me. I do think it’s moving the game toward but something about those posts make me think it’s not genuine and was fishing for town card

Mharm - ima be real. I always have issues reading him. He did pressure vote but he bounces around everywhere and does not stay consistent with this reads and does this regardless of scum or town. I always have issues getting a read on him. Want to see more. 

WF - I don’t know if I can call him Scum yet. It’s mostly null with a potential scum lean. He deflected the pressure and offered up a soft claim. Likely to appease me. But why? Appease me to get me off his back so I don’t catch him again or appease me because he’s actually frustrated he thinks I will make a meta out of chasing him. It’s hard to tell. He played it off as genuine frustration which is my only hesitancy with saying I lean full scum but he’s also experienced enough to play that angle off.

Happy savant engaged. I’ll post a read list once I get to a spot where I can take some time and do it. Going out to eat. But yeah once it starts crawling, all you can really do is sit around and hold your dick while people get on.  I will say ideally lack of activity is usually what makes scum win. So if we have people that are just not engaging, we will need a solution for them. Some of the worst players win games by choosing to post fluff or nothing at all 

Yes and no. Scum still doesn’t like to burn all their questions early before they’ve gotten other townies to claim.

The pressure can work- I learned that two games ago. I got lucky some people trusted me enough not to push for my full claim back there.

I think the current format incentivizes getting a few other townies to claim first. Not too different from a normal game tbh, but you can getting away with planning to full claim in the middle of the pack, instead of at the end in this format I think.

I think there’s a bigger question to ask here. I’ll leave that up to your interpretation. Curious what you’ll think.

I disagree a bit. At worst it makes them use their options off the rip. If they do have a fake character claim and it’s ousted early. It’s an option they don’t have to pull out of a hat layer. Especially if night actions or claims do not line up. Locking a few people down to hard specifics day phase 1 never hurts imo. If they are telling the truth great, it all lines up. If there is inconsistency in information, it’s a reference point. 

Not opposed to the soft claim idea. Just found it werid Ana engaged it randomly and was eager to share

I mean yeah if it was any other person than whiteflame I might have bit, but idk after dominating a couple scum games with whiteflame I have uber tons of respect for his play style, and I never got behind the logic that he was "bad at fake claiming" fundamentally, so that was a hard pill for me to swallow lol.

Next DP whiteflame he mentions who he targeted before being lynched if the nk went through that person is like 65% cleared assuming no manipulation roles that can redirect etc. if NK didn't go through than NK whoever he targeted and hope the scum team just didn't refrain from the NK
