I was thinking it would be just a camp for a day or so that they would attend on a personal day.
First of all, taking away people from their life and putting them into a camp against their will is imprisonment. Secondly, come on... this sounds like child mentality stuff. What? You're going to give them merit badges and slap their hands and say no? There are women addicted to doing abortions... they do it for fun. Humanity isn't a fantasy man... real life ain't how you think.
Adoption is fine, but abortion isn't.
That's your opinion.
If someone was an anarchist and they thought that murdering others was okay, they are allowed to believe that. They cross the line when they actually act on their beliefs and murder.
I do not believe abortion is murder. I look at it as a mercy to a potential life (but not a life). I disagree with abortion at certain times. I think it should be more of stages. I believe brain activity is what is needed to be conscious, but i'm willing to concede heart beat. After heart beat starts, there should be classes that teach about abortion and its effects. Up to when the nervous system attaches and connects the brain activity (around 20 weeks i think) there should be caution and education. After that, it should be only severe cases. We should teach more, we should talk about consequences... but banning is idiotic fundamentalist bs.
A very small portion of people will suffer
How do you know this? The sex strike stuff you brought up is childish so i won't respond.
Death is scary.
"You" think death is scary. I personally can't wait bc i think it's exciting. But i have enough to live for that i will live my whole life so don't worry... i'm getting paid well to type to you write now and have a lot of love in my life. I'm in no rush, but can't wait. Take my personality and put me in a situation that is crap... i personally have a border line sociopathic mind... in any other situation that is negative... you would fear me, trust me on that... suicide wouldn't be my exist. I don't hurt inward, i enjoy hurting outward... if that makes sense. This is off topic anyways since you say you're atheist... which is weird you sited fundie steven crowders name ... he's wrong on this issue btw.
That is the leftist solution since pro lifers get punished way more for being pro life then the other way around.
There is a difference. You are punishing yourself (i do not find that to be evil or wrong - punish yourself all you want). It is not in your right to tell anyone who to be or how to live. That child is a part of the mother. And if she makes the decision that brings her to the conclusion "not yet" ... she has every right to give life to a human being when she wants to. It's a part of her... not you. You have no right to bring your worldview onto others.

You are advocating for more imprisonment, more harm to society. This stems from a broad stroke of thinking people are rational, responsible, moral, ethical, etc. There are bad people in this world, there are idiots in this world, there are many different types of people. You can't ban abortion and expect adoptions is the way to save the thousands, if not millions of new kids that will be born into a world. That is not rational, that is not reality.
Backyard / black market abortions won't happen? I don't have time to look up stats, but i'm pretty sure the number won't change off of times it was illegal or places that it is... you can't stop it. People don't share your same ethics and morals. Then, your solution will be to imprison, imprison, imprison... first of all, good luck proving these people are doing that, second of all... lets have another drug type war. SMH.
Reality is "not all" but a good amount will suffer. All of the things i listed will happen to a certain percentage of these babies being born into those situations. There isn't enough resources to even stop those evils from happening now... yet, you want to flood the system with more of it. It will happen. It will not play out how you think it will play out... bc you are only thinking about the good people willing to cooperate with your view... those are the minority in my opinion.
If we are taking a spiritual sense as well... How about people like me? I would rather be aborted than to exist in that type of world. Why would you force a "soul" like mine to be born? What if i didn't want to be born? You would be forcing me to be born which i would likely later commit suicide if my situation was any different than it is now.
It's a net negative anyway you look at it bc it will not play out how you think it will. You think the world is like you... it's not. And bc it's not... your solution is the punish those that don't believe like you... i think that's evil.

Your idea of what is sexually moral leads to unwanted pregnancy and abortion.
It's stupid people that leads to unwanted pregnancy and many other situations. This could be married or unmarried people.
Keep telling yourself this is moral.
I do not believe in one partner, i do not believe in marriage... keep continuing to call my existence immoral, and i'll continue to view you as trash and insignificant in that regard. Like i said, you're destroying your own church with your intolerance and evil.
I think you are blind to the obvious.
Projection.

Sexual immorality leads too unwanted children.
This doesn't make sense bc it's too general. Plus, the only immoral sex is that which falls under imprisonment of another human being. I don't share your definition of "sexual immorality" if it comes from flawed religion.
Abortion is child sacrifice, it is an abomination.
Define words. It's fetus sacrifice... sure. I disagree with late term unless only harm to child or mother. Overall, i think it's a lesser evil to keep abortion than allowing a conscious human being suffer a life of pain. If you want to force people... you are forcing more evil into this world. You have the evil position if you want it banned for the reasons i listed above. Banning it only comes with more pain and suffering.

@Dr.Franklin
OK, so what about banning guns
Most people barking to ban guns are ignorant... and if any liberal buys into that i simply disagree with them. I however share in there sentiment that guns should be well regulated, and so does the constitution. Meaning, making sure stupid people and criminals don't get their hands on guns. Enforcing the laws we have already is a good starting point.
BUT BUT banning abortions doesn't stop them
In your attempt to make fun of liberals you are proving a point. Yes. Just like guns, banning abortions won't stop abortions. Furthermore, banning abortions will force kids to be born to people that don't want them. This can lead to death of the mother and possibly pain to the unborn child bc of self administered abortions, backyard abortions, a black market, kids growing up in families that can't take care of them, kids growing up to parents that didn't want them and don't care about the kid which can also lead to abuse of the child (sexually / physically), etc...
There is nothing good about banning abortions, just as there is nothing good about banning guns. Both would result in a net negative. So guess what... libtards are just as dumb as Trumptards... the world is fcked.

You're one of the very few minority that gets annoyed when people cheer. Most people like it bc it pumps them up, and the band likes it. It energizes them. I am a musician and have preformed in front of people... trust me, it's not distracting. I've never heard of a musician that messed up bc the audience cheered. When the audience only cheers in the end... it feels fake. When they are with you and cheer on their favorite parts, you know you're doing good. Audience feedback is every and every musician expects it... hopefully. There are songs i created specifically with the intent that "hopefully" people would start jumping up and down and make noise on the riff. When it happened, i knew we nailed it... when it didn't, i felt we were sucking or the crowd wasn't into it. Like i said, you're in the minority of people that find this to be annoying or distracting. But hey, you do you. Just don't go to a concert expecting people to be like you bc they will likely not do what you like... you always have the cd or audio to listen to if you don't want to hear cheers.I'm just saying they should wait until the music is finished before giving the feedback and cheering.
a speech or a TED Talk
I forget which fallacy this is... red herring? Anyways, we're talking about music which is totally different. Now, on some things i agree with you. But even then, i just understand some people are different than me. The cheer bc they get hyper excited... i really can't say i dislike that bc those people are happy... but i agree when people do it in "certain" movies it's annoying. But, i found a way around that... i don't watch movies when they just come out bc the more extroverted people do... they're usually the cheery type. So, i wait 3 or 4 weeks to see the movie with introverts and i usually don't get the whole cheer during a movie thing. But see... that's a whole different topic. When it comes to music, cheering is expected in my opinion. It pumps me up as an audience member and i know it pumps the band up too. Now... i've never been to a classical music thing... maybe they're different, i don't know they're etiquette. But, most live "bands" or "singers" ... you're on the opposite side of what's expected. Doesn't make you wrong, you are just one of the few that annoys in those situations/places.

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, outplayz.
I really don't feel anything... you are a testing ground. If you could change, my personal belief would be wrong. I'm actually rather amused. But it is a waste of my time (and boring) going back and forth with you when you go in circles... now... i know you like having the last word so give me a bible verse please.

@Mopac
Repentance is not simply changing your belief, but what motivates you and influence you.
I'm done with this conversation. All you do is reinforce your own worldview by pretending i'm in "prelest" and must not understand. You have a twisted way of reinforcing your beliefs which i would say is what's truly a "prelest." You can repent all you want, you can change your mind all you want... but you are still human and flawed. Pretending like you are not flawed just puts you into a state of delusion that somehow you are holy than others... and they're in "prelest" and you're not... you know better. You are better, bc you found god. I'm done indulging this hateful worldview. And notice i said "content"... maybe you are trying to be good, idk. All i know is you don't ask questions, you don't answer questions, you don't try to understand where i am coming from at all. You are stuck in your worldview and don't care what i have to say. I've indulged you enough and will end with i simply disagree that your church is the truth. Call me possessed or whatever... that's just a cop-out to me, but if it makes you feel better, then continue being you.

For repentence to be real, you do not simply say "I'm sorry, I goofed", you must replace the bad behavior with good behavior.
Do you think any human that is bad and repents... will never be bad again?
The Greek word for repentance is "metanoia", which is a changing of the mind. A change of course.
Can any human become perfect (meaning no more bad) bc they changed their mind? Same question as above i guess.
See if you rely on your own self, you will actually find that you will rationalize evil.
I never say this bc i usually don't have to... but, i think overall i'm a pretty good human being.
So the work on your end is to cooperate.
How do you know god didn't create me exactly the way i am and i've been cooperating this whole time?

What if there was once nothing, and then something. Now, i'll even go as far as saying nothing turned into something... that something being life. Now, lets say life would give life to intelligence. Given our platform is seemingly infinite... lets say this intelligence is infinite. Where in any of this do you conclude this intelligence is a christian god? Would it not be more accurate to accept humans are finite and flawed and therefore will have trouble defining such an entity? Now, i am not saying we can't attempt to define it... since we are life too, this eternal life would be a part of us. So, we may even be up to something... but again, humans, we know, are flawed. So... why should i conclude Christians know?So if life was created by nothing how can it make intelligent choices.

Repentance is not a good way to deal with one's darkness. This allows the people on the darker side of the spectrum to rationalize there darkness and later say, "sorry god - i repent my sins." No, no, no. One must understand that they're flawed, understand their darkness, and fight it each day to never manifest into our world. The only person responsible to keep their darkness in check is themselves... no one erases it. And, if there are humans that can't control their darkness, it's up to the ones that can to oppose them. No one erases / "washes" away their darkness bc they repent.

Demons are never on your side, and they are certainly not your bitches if they are possessing you.
Everyone has "demons" whether they like it or not. I don't define demons like you do since i'm not Christian. Everyone has a dark side... almost everyone if i'm being specific. I have a theory that dark and good in people is on a spectrum. Most would fall into the mix, but i guess it's possible there are some absolutely good people and some absolutely evil people (both being very rare). In most cases however, everyone has demons.

Loving you doesn't mean validating your spiritual delusion.
Man... get out of here. It's sad that you just don't get it. I don't believe your "truth" ... it's offensive when you try to apply it to me. Yet, you will continue to tell me i don't know what i'm talking about bc i'm "deluded"? That's trash. That isn't love and acceptance. You have a hole in your heart that thinks i'm damned... You may be able to cover that hole bc you are generally a good person... but there are many from your kin that cannot cover this hate. You "hate" evil... under your belief system, i'm someone that has embraced this "evil." How can you tell me there isn't hate?

"the take-down of organized religion is a must."
I am the one that wrote this... i told you exactly what i meant. And, you are still mis-interpreting. Lol... and you want me to believe any interpretation of thousand year old text you have is accurate. Perfect example.
You are calling for the death of my church, there is no way around this.
If it's bad ideas, if it's wrong... i don't have to call for anything. Your church will be the death of itself. I hope it's not to a certain degree, but if your church is telling people they are wrong for being who they are... sure, i'd like to see the death of humans trying to flex control and power over others.
We do not see your ideal of spiritual egotism and self directed religious anarchy to be desirable.
Bc you're brainwashed. You don't accept people that don't believe you. Believe what you want. If i don't see it affecting me, i don't care. But Christianity is effecting other people's lives that don't believe what it does. It's an intolerant belief system. I'd like to see that intolerance bite itself in the butt, and it will one day if we continue to evolve as we are.

@Athias
May you perhaps be a bit more detailed?
I would be cautious in saying that public school is what helped me get my degrees. I think that was more my own will than public school. It's what public school taught me that i applied to my careers that is more important. I don't think i would have been the top sales/business person in my state without my experiences in public school. Without boasting too much... i live in a pretty large state, Cali, and worked in the hardest area to sell in... and i was top ten, top 3 a couple times, in the entire state in a big company. People asked me how i do what i do? It really came down to understanding people. It takes me 5 minutes or less of conversation to know that side people hide. Also, since i observed a lot before making friends... i also learned how different people made non-verbal signs that i can pick up on too. Lastly, learning all these different people are still awesome... i have no judgments before meeting people so everyone is an open book... it's made me truly love humanity. I do not think i would be this way if i didn't experience it... but who knows since that wasn't my path. All i know is if there were sellers in my company that were home schooled, i was destroying them. And this is just one job.
And wouldn't those who assimilated to a consistent order and structure seek such an environment later in life?
No.. i don't think so. I think everyone is an individual. Some are random and chaotic, some are more structured. There are degrees within everyone. I'm very detail oriented. Although i may be random, i still have order in that randomness. It's just who i am. But, i suspect if i never experienced this chaos... i wouldn't know how to order it as well as i do now. It's hard since we are talking about things that weren't my path. Would i be the same? Maybe... but, i think i'm better, just like you get better at everything, with practice.
My demeanor remains for the most part
I'm very much the same. I don't hide part of myself and am an open book. I like people like you bc i feel more at ease right away usually meeting someone like you. But i've met a lot of people... not everyone is like you. As to the affiliating with a category part... who doesn't? But here is the thing i think you may be missing. Seeing these categorize in the open, without them being hidden... helps a lot in understand that certain category. Take ten teens that are being their category... and stand them next to ten adults in suits. If you can vision how different that is in understand the person, you'll get what i mean.
parent to oversee in full capacity the child's education.
This is controlling by its nature. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just saying i have an issue with "it's better" ... i do not agree in "all situations." I concede that in some it may be, but i think there are cons to homeschooling you may not be considering... or have you. What would you say the cons are to home schooling?
What benefit would it serve my child to observe and interact with a skinhead?
It's a teenager man... they likely have no clue what they are doing, and i found out.. they were just rebels. They're humans. Misguided sometimes. I actually helped one of the girls see the errors she was making, got her off drugs, and became very close friends. That is a talent, a skill, you learn when you don't judge off appearances. I knew they were wrong, but at that age... i was curious to find out what they truly believed bc i was taught to not judge and just listen. Can i ask... were you home schooled?
Can they not experience meeting a diverse sample of people outside of public school?
Yes you can. But these are formative years. Also, the environment is what it is. This environment changes as teens age into adults. Of course, people still show to an extent what i'm talking about in college/university... but it's just a whole different environment. It's harder to do what's easier to do in public schools. What i'm talking about is i got to see this transformation instead of missing it completely.
I still don't understand.
Preparation just means knowledge. I had young adults teach me what to expect, i had adults that i can talk to freely about what's going on. I wasn't going around without knowing. With this knowledge i just knew the bad things to look out for... but i was also taught to explore different people and label things bad once i came to that conclusion after listening to them. That's the gist of it, this was an ongoing part.
I'm curious: how does public school benefit a music career better than homeschool?
Simply bc i had the opportunity to play with a wide variety of people i would have never met if it was up to me to choose who to play with. This is nuanced too... i played in bands, homeschooling may be better for a concert pianist. Think of this as music genres. If you love rock, you'll likely never listen to rap unless someone that does introduces you to it, but more importantly... guide you through understand what they love about it.
that's more about the child than the environment.
This is an important statement that i agree with. That's why i wouldn't say either or is "better" ... each has it's pros and cons. So to your last statement.. i'm trying not to be general, sorry if i was. It really comes down to the person. All i'm saying is there are certain situations that can teach you a little more than you would have learned if you didn't experience it. This why i can't say which is better in general.

And it is obvious that you hate us just as you also hate the truth.
I don't hate anyone i haven't met. That is an unnecessary emotion that is harmful to my personal self... so stop projecting. I do hate people that try to impose their will on weaker minded humans... so if that is what you're doing in my area, i'll make anyone with this mind set feel insignificant real fast. It's bullying, it's evil. You can try to sound as tough as you want... but if those are the values you hold and people you respect... all i see is a weak human being.

@Mopac
You are full of straw-man. Why are you misrepresenting what i was saying. I made sure i said "not" the community, "not" the belief... i am referencing organizations of humans beings trying to impose their beliefs on others for power and control. That is the part of organized religion that i disagree with. And, take-down doesn't mean war in how i'm using it. Take-down as in humans becoming conscious enough to not be malleable to other human beings. That's why i bring up social media... people's minds will take it down and i made that clear as well. If you don't comprehend what i wrote, ask questions instead of building straw-man and jumping to war... tf do you have on your mind. If you think sex outside of marriage is evil... it's not war that will change that, it's the people seeing though your lies.

@croweupc
I absolutely agree. If i'm going to be optimistic, i think we are working our way towards this and the take-down of organized religion is a must. Not the take-down of beliefs... the take-down of other humans telling us who to be. We can all still have beliefs in what will happen... and quite honestly, i think it's up to the observer to know what will happen. Staring into ideas like multi-verse and infinity, everyone can get what they hope for. But i'm a naturalist too when it comes to this reality. This reality is this reality. No one should have the power to take away other people's experiences bc some book / other humans says it's wrong. That kinda BS has ruled long enough... and look at the world, it's not ruling very holy. That should have made it obvious to everyone a long time ago that these beliefs are flawed... bc if there weren't, the world would be better imho.We share this space and should respect each other,
It's funny, i watch a music reaction channel on Youtube. It's two christians that listen to metal... so they seem pretty open minded even if i disagree with their platform. I just saw a video in which they were talking about their subscribers. They said the kindest people, the people that give them the best gifts, the people that give them the most love... are always atheists. The guy said he got a gift with a letter, opened the gift that was a cd he wanted, and he said before reading the letter... he knew it was an atheist and would have been shocked if it was a Christian. This kind of real life examples should speak volumes to current Christians... when another christian knows they are not going to be the kind ones. I think this is wonderful bc people are seeing this... social media may be organized religions downfall. I personally hope so, not the community part and belief (per se) part... the power over other people part. That's so clearly a flawed human quality written all over these organizations.

@Athias
And to what effect and extent has this experience served your education?
I have two degrees and am doing pretty well. I think that's all that matters. Of course, depending on what a person is going for however. In my case, i didn't need to be the top of my class... i needed to socialize and get connections. It all depends on the goal which i think can be achieved through public school.
Life is like public school?
Life is like the chaos found in public school, but hidden. People hide who they are as they grow... those impulses are not controlled in HS years so you get to see the wide range of differences. I don't think people that are home-schooled lack a social life... i think they would lack seeing these differences.
public school is perhaps the worst place to see individuality
I don't think you are understanding my angle. Individuality as in a goth kid dressing up goth. Trust me, as a goth, skater, surfer kid myself... that never goes away. I'm still that person but i hide it bc i'm an "adult" now. Kids in these years don't hide it and let themselves be known. Public school is a great time to see this individuality. Also, it's a great time to learn how to navigate it.
The way you are talking about home-schooling is very controlling. You control the education, you have slight control on who your kid would be around... all of this seems very pampered. You're kid will never see a skinhead and get the opportunity to observe or even talk to them to see where they are coming from. I was never a skinhead, dressed like people they disliked, and am a different ethnicity. But, still i found a way to become friends with them and see that they are people too. Even uncomfortable at the beginning bc i thought they'd hate me. It's little things like this you are hiding them away from. If i never had that situation happen... i may still be afraid of them, or think they're just trash... or whatever preconceived notion that comes with that territory. Now... the important part is i asked people i trust what does "skinhead" mean. I knew what they stood for and who they were before trying to make friends. I knew i disagreed with them. That is the preparation i'm talking about that you need so you don't get brainwashed or manipulated... that's important too.
All one needs to know is that homeschooling is better.
This is a very broad statement and not nuanced at all. There are situations in which i may agree with you... like i first said, it all comes down to the kids goals. If they want to be musicians, i'd say go to public school. If they want to be effective salesman / business, i'd say go to public school. If the kid wants to be a doctor from a prestige school, i'd say get home schooled. It all depends on the future goals. Some careers don't need what i'm talking about and need what you're talking about... vice versa. I'm not saying home schooling is bad, i actually think it may get you better grades. But even there i'm not sure... i think if one an still crush it in public school with all the distractions, that's a talent within itself.
So, i disagree with a general statement that home-schooling is "better." That's just not the case in every situation.

@croweupc
A bit to address here, but a lot i agree with too. The people that have muddied the water are def. people of religious 'organizations' (or the like) telling people they know the truth and if you don't believe them there are consequences. It goes far down the rabbit hole in who these people are. I can't blame people that have experiences to correlate them with their indoctrinated faith. Being very spiritually minded myself, i've noticed many people can't think about spiritual implications. Even the most basic stuff i bring up in conversations seems to wow people. I personally think there is such thing as spiritual intelligence. Which is people that can make sense of metaphysical platforms and their implications naturally. Unfortunately, some of these people become experts in ancient books too... and further manipulate people into these organizations that have entrapped people's minds.
But the point is, people still experienced something in order to correlate it to their belief. I'm absolutely with you that these experiences don't point to any specific platform. They are just... "unexplained." I wouldn't even go as far as saying a higher power. However, there are experiences that suggest some sort of "intelligence" is behind the experience. I'm going to paraphrase one of my experiences to illustrate what i mean. Image holding a necklace. Now, imagine you do everything to make sure you understand the natural spin before you start and that you are stable. Now, someone tells the necklace to spin to the right (it spins hard to the right), says stop (it stops), says spin it to the left (it spins hard left). There is more to the story, i'll tell you if you'd like, but that is the gist of it. Now... what conclusions can i make from that? I would say, spiritually speaking, something was able to follow commands and spin the necklace. The most logical natural explanation is that i spun it myself unconsciously. But i know i didn't, and did everything in my power to test it. So... it just becomes an unexplained experience right?
Therein lies my definition of spiritual. I define spiritual as a reality we aren't aware of that seems to exhibit intelligence. This could be god/gods, spirits, aliens, inter-dimensional beings, etc. It also covers maybe an unseen dimension in our own world that has some sort of agency through us. It really could be anything. In my case, i call all of these platforms. We have no clue what the platform is that allows for such things. Many are trying to explain it... including religion, but none, in my opinion, know. Except recently i've been starting to be very intrigued by the "infinite consciousness" type eastern philosophy stuff... it jives with science in my opinion so it's def. the most interesting. Also, since eastern people have been asking questions and changing for years... i'd say they are the experts in explaining the platform, if anyone.
But ultimately i don't think the platform matters. It's all about who you and i are to the platform that matters. Who i am to infinity (crazy implications). But i digress. I think if we can get the platform down and focus on one, maybe one day we can start discovering it. I think the rest i agree with you, but i would say one should equally look for supernatural explanations as well as the natural. Bc if you only look for natural explanations... you'll come up with one. My necklace example... i could easily say i spun it and that's it. But i'd be intellectually dishonest if i count out that wasn't the case. We are really young in our existence facing an infinite platform. Maybe some beliefs were wrong about thunder being thor banging his hammer... but could there be an entity that created thunder? Although Vikings and Greeks were wrong about certain parts... i think their way of beliefs (multiple gods) is an interesting perspective about the platform. Maybe there is one consciousness with multiple entities within it... one god and multiple gods. I just find it very interesting that humans can even think of such things.
One last thing is... i don't think humanity can handle a spiritual answer currently. My personal belief is that i'm infinite. That when i die i will just choose another experience to have. If i knew i was right 100%... i would probably kill myself. So... let's say i'm right for everyone. Why would anyone live if that was a truth? Even the infinite consciousness platform has similar implications... i imagine a lot would commit suicide. So, maybe it's by 'design' we currently can't have this spiritual answer and why it's so elusive. I have other thoughts on this... but i've already wrote too much. The implications of anything spiritual being true is pretty deep. I don't think one should count it out... at the same time, we have to fight against the humans trying to entrap people into their belief... bc i do label that as continuing something evil.

I was aware he said pick one... i didn't want to. So i'm not being a dick, just go with the first one i put up if you want. Soul Eater.

You're saying that because life will choose to follow into death then it's killing itself.
That's a concise way of putting it... i'd say something like that. Here is an analogy i use to illustrate what i mean. Imagine you can download yourself into a zombie game. If you knew you couldn't die in the game, if you knew you downloaded into that game... what kind of experience would that be? It'd be something like a mindless shooter right? You'd likely get bored real fast too. So, what is the only way you can truly have the experience? Not knowing you downloaded into that game... fearing death. Then, the experience becomes a true zombie reality. With death being the reset. If we are immortal / infinite in any sense of the words... i think a logical conclusion / creation of such a consciousness would be death. Bc only with death can you have true experiences where all the emotions, etc. are at their peak.

Very well said. Especially the part "people think they know God and how he wants me to live" ... basically, people want you to be like them so they can feel better about themselves. That's how i see it anyways. They are offended that you are different. That has always really pissed me off about religious people too... especially bc they can't see that's what they're doing. They think it's an act of kindness, but to me... it's an act of great offense when they tell me to stop being who i am. My definition of evil is every variation and degree of imprisoning another human being. The thing about that is... who was the original imprison-er? For religious people it goes pretty far back. I feel sorry for them now. They've been imprisoned by flawed humans for a long time... it's really not their fault.My issue is not really with religion. I quite like the Buddhist text and teachings. I have no issues with a God proposition. When people think they know God and how he wants me to live, I take issue with them. The only evidence they have is an ancient book written in ancient times with ancient ideas like stoning people for working on the sabbath. When I bring this up, they justify these horrible acts because God is good, kind, just, all loving, and he knows best. The justification of truly horrible behavior is a scary thing to me. I never felt comfortable with certain text in the Bible, I just ignored them for a really long time.
The thing about metaphysical/spiritual claims is that they are all anecdotal. But just like any genre... these claims have been muddied by greedy and power hungry humans. But the way i look at it is that if just one of these claims happened in a spiritual sense... that is technically proof of something beyond this reality. It further gets tricky for me bc i've had this "proof" happen to me... i've had a couple spiritual experiences that i can't explain. With that said, i'm still agnostic bc i can think critically and come up with explanations... but, i've found in doing that i'm just making up explanations which any skeptic can do. Which one is real... life tells me i should go with the explanation that isn't "woo woo" ... but the problem with that is, the woo still happened.I want to believe as many true things as possible and as few false things as possible. If testable evidence supports the claim, I will believe it. If testable evidence is against the claim, I will reject it. If no testable evidence exists, my belief remains at null until sufficient evidence supports it. The greater the claim, the greater the evidence is needed to support such claims. As for metaphysics, if you are not claiming absolute certainty, then I really don’t care, but if you know for sure something you cannot possibly know, I think it is unjustified.
So, a couple thing i know from these experiences is 1) i can't repeat them; 2) it's was unpredictable; 3) i can't control them. This is the slight problem i have with your standard. I say slight bc it is a logical standard. It's a standard that within the moments i had, i was applying. But that's the trick... how should i be looking at this bc it proved itself to me in those moments 'if' they truly happened in a spiritual sense. Do you think the scientific standard we have right now is even equipped to answer spiritual experiences if the top 3 points are true?
To me, i'm honestly confused, but i would say i suspect more than not there is a metaphysical platform/reality we aren't aware of. I'm like 70/50. Bc even if my experiences were false, they still happened. It makes me think are the millions of other people claiming such experiences also mistaken? I don't know... but i think the number of claims is enough to at least suspect something is going on.

Oh, okay. I see the distinction you're making. That's a tricky one though philosophically. Isn't it only humans that can choose not to kill? Other species will kill no matter what for survival. In case of humans, i agree with you... but with others i feel like that is kinda accurate.life will kill no matter what.
Also, if i bring my metaphysical beliefs into this conversation... i believe 'overall' life will always kill. Even if we get to the point where we fully integrate with machine... this universe is hostile and can still kill. But this is where it gets tricky. If we fully integrate with machines that would mean we can download into simulations. Now, lets say at that point we also figure out how to survive the universe... basically becoming immortal. I think at that point, if the universe can't kill us, then... within the simulations we will create death.
I don't think there is any escaping death. The way i look at death metaphysically is a restart. If you are playing a video game you will eventually finish it and play a new game... that is how i look at death. A restart to a new experience. So, even if we become immortal within simulations... death will always be a part of our experiences. I do not believe our type of consciousness can remain immortal without death... i liken that reality to hell.

I should ask... how are you defining life? Or, what do you mean by "i think life doesn't kill life?"
Created:

@WaterPhoenix
It depends on how you are defining life. I'm a living being... if that is a life, then... i have the ability to kill. People do kill people, animals kill animals, viruses kill... etc., if you are defining life as living entities... life def. kills.Wait but I think life doesn't kill life...

I personally... can't stop smiling watching shuffle dancing.
It's beautiful for many reasons. Some being it shows individuality, you are just dancing by yourself and ftw (i love seeing women just get into like that-they look so free), you have to be fit to learn how to do it, the younger generation just knows how to have a good time (i love seeing that youthful positive energy)... plus, it goes so well with music. I'd suggest learning it if you can... even the easier moves like the simple (well not too simple) "running man" ... it will get everyone onto the dance floor or at least... It's a great workout.

First of all.. i'm going to assume you've never preformed for people. Real quick though, most of your videos are from those contest shows so idk if they cue the audience to cheer... you never know with tv shows of that nature. In real shows, people cheer on their favorite parts. It could be a line in the lyrics everyone likes, it could be a high / low note everyone likes, it could be a solo or just riff everyone likes... i imagine if the contest shows aren't staged, that's why they are cheering... the person is either good so they're impressed, or a high note or vocal tone people are impressed with...
But... most importantly, as a musician, getting that crowd feedback is everything. It pumps you up like no other bc you know the crowd is into it. That makes you play more passionately and energizes you. You have to realize... musicians are playing the same song over and over and over and over again... if the crowd never got into it and stayed silent.... that would be a miserable gig. So... if you're seeing a band... don't just stand there like a dead zombie... get into it and get others into it... and the music will be all the better.
I'm surprised everyone commenting so far is agreeing with the zombie side (minus stronn i think). If you are going to stand there like a zombie and not cheer... that's just weird, maybe go see someone you're more into... idk. Trust me, the musicians know how to get you to a zombie point too... Just as a musician gets energy from hearing the cheers, they know when they drop something hard on you that sounds deep... it should shut the crowd up. It's an amazing feeling all around as a musician feeling the crowd be under your musical control. It reminds the musician of the first time they made the song, and takes the feeling of playing that song a hundred times away.

Don't get me wrong here... i really like what you are saying. I don't think there is anything you can say to someone religious that is convinced they are right. The only way is for them to find it out themselves. But then again, i have a wacky belief system that suggest most never will bc that is just who they are to this world (it's a simulation type wacky belief). I'd be wrong in suspecting such a metaphysical claim if they could easily change... this also goes for the other side:
So, on your end... what would you standard of burden of proof be? Do you even think humanity is anywhere close to being able to "prove" a metaphysical claim? Do you think having a starting point of skepticism is a good thing?

I'm sorry i wasn't more clear, i thought the conclusion can be drawn from what i was saying. Overall, death being a part of living includes life killing life as well. That's just one way death is a part of living. So yes, life kills life too (i don't think i ever disagreed with that point). There are many ways you can die... life taking life being one way. My OP in this thread was suggesting an overall picture, that's why i'm not sure from which angle i needed to start with especially since my OP has a metaphysical meaning to it too.Your saying death is part of living but does that suggest that life would kill life?

Or you can have an involved family. You can have other young adults give you advise. You can send your kid to a therapist that has a young spirit and understands adolescence. With all this knowledge, you teach your kid what to look out for and what to consider with an open mind. I went to public school prepared. It was a testing ground for me. I learned how to be popular, how to get with the skin heads, how to hang out with the emo crowd (even though i almost fought them with the skinheads), how to hang out with the smart kids, the goth kids, the skater kids, surfers, etc... i was all over the place understanding a wide variety of human beings. This has translated into my life like Loki's tongue. If i was home schooled... i would have hated my parents for doing that to me. I don't understand that level of control one would want over their kid(s)... hiding them away from life. Bc life will hit them in the face real hard. You can teach them all you want... but without experiencing it, they will be lost. It's the best time to see individuality. Bc later in life, people start hiding that part of themselves.
Without preparation however, idk, i may concede home schooling is better. But, i wonder by how much.

Well, a couple ways of looking at that... yes, sometimes it kills, sometimes it doesn't... but overall, life kills. Will that always be the case however, it's hard to tell. We can be working towards a reality where death is not a thing. I can get into how that's possible, but as of right now, death is a part of living. But what you individually define life to be until you await death is up to you. That's the part i can't define.So that means that according to you if there are different meanings of life then sometimes life kills and sometimes life doesn't?

@WaterPhoenix
It's a question that i can't answer for you. You define what life is to you. If you want my definition, i think life is an experience within the framework and structures of this reality.If I knew it wouldn't I just know it? If I knew life skills wouldn't be dead, but that all depends on your definition of life. Which i turn relates to the most stereotypical philosophical question of them all, What is life?

It's all about watching a girl in her room when she doesn't know this idiot is alive... horrible song (musically), and yes... very rapey. His voice is okay on the choruses, but his cleans are horrible... and the music, i can create better with free music software and 30 minutes.

I'd say keep the beach standard. This would include stores, resorts and popular tourist spots. I live next to a lot of popular beaches and i think what you're trying to go for with this "art" angle would be covered by this standard.I think one way to get around the art question is to ask: would the Louvre display it? If not, it’s not allowed.

Yeah... thinking in retrospect... i can see what you mean now. I was just thinking "hey, youtube didn't ban this video for being porn" ... wasn't thinking of the adult content part. Opps lol.Based on post 2 of this thread bsh would consider it a violation as well.

Well.... i can't delete it anymore so i'll find out now won't i lol. I'm confused if adult content means having to do with some kind of sexual act or activity... Bc a lot of the music we post on this site is "adult content" too... so... don't really get it. But i've posted a lot of songs that would probably be age restricted too. A lot of the metal songs i post are likely age restricted due to lyrics. So... idk.Realistically it is up to the mods to decide whether it is to be officially considered a violation but just looking at the CoC... Yeah, that video is adult content.
