Ignore the one pretending yo speak on my behalf. He is an abusive wreck of a user that abuses those he rpete ds to support as soon as they call him out.I will tell you one thing:Nobody here for a while shows their family and irl friends the site. They feel shame, its a closeted hobby. This stems from the terrible moderation.I shall change that. The past 3 bans and 1 voting privilege restriction were largely due to my reports.I will clean this up with the help of the Lord.

@21Pilots
What exactly is your goal?I feel like you have a strong opinion that you keep hinting, but never fully lay it out
There is no long-game plan that I'm aware of, and his goal has changed course several times over the last 2 years.
From what I've observed, the only thing that has remained the same is the demand for stronger enforcement, and policy reform (or just cracking down on certain behaviors.).
But this demand for change and quest for power has been going on since 2018.

In my eyes destroyed you in 2 rounds in Dionysus debate. I will lose it as the next 2 got forfeited.Meanwhile some forfeit first 3 of 3 and go bam bam bam final round or debate small in first round, forfeit round 2 and the spam.
Your responses in the Dionysus debate were insufficiently engaged and rushed.
I adjusted the response time to 3 days which was more than enough to accommodate you.
And there's already restrictions in place that prevent people from claiming victories by forfeiting a round 2 and then spamming in round 3.
Judges voting on that are nearly required to ignore the final 3 spam, and most will.
But assigning all 7 points based on that? Not only is that unnecessary, but extreme.
Created:
Posted in:
Also, final round blitzkrieg needs to ve all 7 votes to other opponent.
That's a system that voids debate of purpose or meaning, since you're essentially creating a system that enables weaponized vote-bombing.
Are there even enough resources that describe what a blitzkrieg is and what it isn't, or are voters free to justify assigning all 7 points to whatever side they want based on how they interpret what blitzkrieg means?
No point in wasting three rounds having a pointless discussion, since voters are able to tactically exploit a loophole to reward all points to whichever side they prefer.
If we're going to do this. At least, properly clarify what a blitzkrieg is. (No new arguments) Perhaps, be a little more specific on that.
If this legislation gets passed, I suggest all debaters to either forfeit the final rounds or give a one sentence answer.
As if voters aren't already encouraged to ignore final round blitzkriegs.

- Claims that the cause of suffering is through sin, and that the way to eliminate suffering and rejecting sin is by following Jesus Christ.
- Following The Ten Commandments.
- Praying, repenting and asking for forgiveness.
Buddhism
- Believes that the cause of suffering are from attachment and desire, and that everyone is born into the cycle of suffering through a constant pattern of life, death, and rebirth. And that one can end the cycle through detachment.
- Acknowledging and accepting The Four Noble Truths, and following The Eightfold Path.
- Daily meditation, rituals, and always keeping right intention.
These are both religious systems oversimplified. Now is the time to lean into your biases or personal opinions and discuss which foundation you believe is superior, and if one applies to you more. Any objections you can likewise raise. Which one leads to a more fulfilling life?
Consider a hypothetical scenario where in the absence of spiritual beings and The Divine, which one would you prefer?

The mods enforce rules to suit users posting depraved things in the forums while dissuading serious sophisticated 1v1ers from ever sticking around a place that allows n words and other vile content. Thanks for reading. Use your brains and protest the moderation.Or... You know, worry more about sone trolls than userbase retention.
Hey whiteflame.
AdaptableRatman had a concern he wanted to address with you, regarding the number of trolls driving people away from the site by posting vile content.
He is arranging a civil protest, and he wanted to get your thoughts on the matter.

They are holy. See, if you know what holiness is according to scripture, you wouldn't be asking this question. They are simply people that live holy according to scriptures, according to God of the scriptures where it says be HOLY FOR I AM HOLY. The apostle Peter believed and taught that. That was in his doctrine, an apostle's doctrine, his faith.
Thanks for being specific, that really narrows it down. It’s not as if EVERY denomination isn’t saying the exact same thing.

Someone can take a break and love a website. You think swsgnarok loves this site because hes ticks around to barely post now and again, more consistently than me that took a break?
I don't know about Swagnarok.
But Lemming, Savant, Fauxlaw, and Mharman's passion for this site is not any lesser than yours.
And the truth is, you don't love this site. If you claim that you do, then you're contradicting yourself.

Adding to that, consider for a moment how long the active moderation team has just been whiteflame and I. Personally, I do not enjoy being a moderator; I do it to aid the community, and help prevent it from going the way of DDO. I strongly suspect it is the same for whiteflame. Right now it is pretty easy to look at this thread and be like: David's back, and he's in talks in Michael to take control of the site! But at the time, moderation was whiteflame and I, with increasingly rare guest appearances in the moderator chat. Plus, we are the first to hear about features gradually breaking, but lack sufficient authorizations to do anything about it.Getting someone passionate about the site at the helm, to me is the best hope for the site... There was the risk of him being too passionate, but I believed the most likely rewards outweighed the most likely risks. This didn't work out, but I'll take a misstep over stagnation; even if it proved to be an embarrassing misstep for me.
A misstep.
More like negligence & carelessness. All because you don't like your job.
You weren't under any obligation to take it in the first place. This was a burden of responsibility you signed up for and chose.
There were literally plenty of obvious alternatives to Adaptable.: Savant, Lemming, Fauxlaw, or even Mharman & Swagnarok.
Heck, I don't even want to be a moderator, but I would have accepted the position and demonstrated 100% commitment to fostering growth and change if it was offered to me.
Adaptable does not love this site, he loves debate. He was gone for literally a year, occasionally dropping in once or twice, while these other four users have remained active within that time, and their passion for this community remains the same as Adaptable's, or perhaps even greater.
Adaptable being a control freak or aggressive about change does not mean his passion is greater than Savant's, Lemming's, Fauxlaw's, or Mharman's.
What contributions has Adaptable made that Savant has not matched on an equal level?
Look at all that Savant has done so far. Why isn't he a moderator? Or Lemming? Why were none of these other people even considered?
Savant and Lemming haven't ever been moderated, as far as I'm aware.
Yet you and the other mods at one point banned Adaptable for inciting drama, making doxxing threats toward Ramshutu, and even made an announcement that he was one of the divisive members of the community.
Adaptable was crystal clear about his intention to make the mods reveal their IRL names and bring in Cancel Culture.
None of this is on Adaptable. This is not even a criticism of Adaptable.
This is a criticism of you growing so lazy and complacent, that you're desperate for any change that you can't even be bothered to choose your moderators more responsibility. Different does not always mean better. Stagnation was a significantly better choice than a clear lapse of judgment.
Half-assing measures without even bothering to commit to your choices, decisions show exactly how far you've fallen.
If you're so desperate for retirement, things would go by so much more quickly if you stopped wasting time and even bothered to consider one of those four users. There are literally so many quick and easy solutions to this problem. Lemming and Fauxlaw could easily get this site under control and from going the way of DDO.
And the both of them, but especially Savant would work so perfectly and compatibly with whiteflame. How was this not already obvious to you?

Idk if you have heard of the denomination named Seventh Day Adventists but they are the closest thing there is to what you called Jewish Christianity.
I do have an interest in theology, but I may need to take a break from studying christianity for a while because it’s too much at once.
I’m branching out and studying eastern asian religions for broader expertise instead of remaining within a niche. But I am considering the suggestion for later
Created:

My life has been a long journey of diversified spiritual experiences where I have inquired about judaism, mormonism, protestantism, catholicism, orthodoxy, and eastern asian religions like buddhism and hinduism.
If we are to momentarily overlook and push the scandals, corruption, and church politics aside for now and focus on general first impressions. Here is how I describe and categorize each of the following.:
- Everytime I enter a church of the latter-day saints, I experience a lingering state of existential dread. The church feels empty, meaningless, and void of purpose. It is plain and minimalistic, with nothing to redeem for its inadequacy. It is a blank canvas which advertises itself as a masterpiece. It drains my soul and leaves me feeling lifeless.
- My first visit to a catholic church struck feelings of awe and amazement. There was a sense of purpose and meaning. Like the cultural thrill you get from visiting an aesthetic national park, or an exotic place. There is spiritual and emotional euphoria because it genuinely feels like a House of God, if there ever is one.
- My impression of most protestant and non-denominational churches are acceptable. But I would describe them all as very mid-tier. For one, the biblical scripture is too open to interpretation and the Christian lifestyle feels oversimplified because a lot of their churches disabandoned many of the traditions, rituals, and customs that give Christianity its uniqueness. They have become plain and minimalistic. They are okay, but okay is the only way I describe them. (But they are strongly dominated by republican and conservative beliefs or politics.)
- The United Church of Christ keeps the aesthetic of christian churches. They are minimalistic, but their style is more modern and errs on the side of progressive. There is an emphasis on professionalism and being left-leaning. Perfect for places like LA.
- The Orthodox Church has a certain appeal that is hard to describe. It is captivating, but not in the emotional sense. It has a certain mystique to it because of its ancient vibe. The depictions of God and Jesus are so unheard of, that it disillusions you to the perceptions modern churches have of christianity and Jesus. It is very superstitious and mysterious, but its community is very welcoming. It is easy to get a long with the people there. I experience a very weak connection to God there, to the point that God's presence is so subtle that it feels like a non-connection. God's presence in The Catholic Church is stronger. It is different because it is categorized as jewish christianity, not a typical form of christianity. When visiting the church for the first time, picture yourself walking into a museum with ancient rome/greek culture, where the earlier forms of christianity were just born. The depictions of Jesus, Mary, and The Holy Trinity are like if Leonardo DaVinci (Even though he was born significantly later) made them rather than what we see today.
- The synagogue is perhaps the most interesting, like The Orthodox Church. The synagogue's appeal is strong, in the way that a subject is interesting to scholars or exploring new realms of artifact is fascinating to archeologists. The synagogues are educational and provide a firsthand glimpse into the beliefs of ancient Israel. Judaism is the most intellectually stimulating, if that's your thing.
- The buddhist monastery (The first one I visited was a Theraveda one, but there are other sects. Like Tibetan, Shaolin or Chan) feels like a genuine place of refuge. It is like a shelter that offers emotional & spiritual fulfillment as well as contentment. The tibetan sect is like the buddhist version of orthodox christianity and has that same mystery, & appeal. As well as superstition. I believe tibetan might be my current area of interest as far as studying.
These are not necessarily objective, this is the information I have gathered from doing independent studies, and are just my general first impressions.
For this discussion, I am encouraging you to temporarily overlook the negative reputation of each of these places and instead just give your unfiltered first impression on any of these whether your feelings be positive or negative.
If you have any positive or negative biases, they should be based on your own experiences and what you have learned.

Now you see it, soon the devil will attack you again.
What are you talking about?
I’m not realizing anything, this has been obvious to me from the very beginning. I just didn’t say anything, but I was very suspicious the very day your promotion was announced.
Quite frankly, I don’t believe the snaking was when he turned on you, I believe it started right when he promoted you.
The way I see it, there are two likely explanations.:
1. Barney double-crossed whiteflame by promoting you to undermine him.
When I called this out in this server, he changed his tune because his cover was blown, so he let you take the fall by turning on you. He snaked the both of you by playing both sides.
2. Barney had no intention of making you a moderator ever.
He promoted you as a joke.
If Wylted was right, he was trolling the community and you by doing this. He knew you were too unstable to carry out your vision, and he knew your site model was unsustainable. You were setup as the verbal punching bag to endure the criticism of the community, when Barney bares the full burden of blame here.
I’m leaning towards #2 because I already know part of Barney’s true feelings toward you and the site.

@Barney
I do find myself wondering. What were your feelings that led you to promote Adaptable, and what are your feelings after?
Full clarification would help avoid unnecessary confusion. You're sending mixed signals here.
On one hand, it was your idea to make him a mod, but you chose to gatekeep certain perms, and the official title. Denying him even access to the chats.
Implying you don't fully trust him.
What doesn't add up is you have now decided against keeping him on the staff team, and demoted him. What was the reason that led you to this decision?
Adaptable has been transparent about what he intends to do here since Day 1, so you couldn't have been in the dark about his actions. There was full disclosure about his motive and intentions.:
Even if you claim you didn't see this specific post, the fact remains you and Adaptable used to talk very regularly, and he has made his views on this subject open repeatedly.

@Owen_T
They are.
Barney is on the verge of retirement, which is potentially a bad sign because the mod team will be understaffed. It was implied Barney was rushing, and that's how Adaptable was originally chosen. But since Adaptable has been demodded, it's only a matter of time before someone else is picked for the position.
And when that time comes, we need to be prepared to make sure that the person in question doesn't pull the same shit.
So as it currently stands, I am vouching for Lemming as my first choice. Mharman as my backup.

People don’t plan that far ahead. The forfeitures aren’t a product of design.
People create an account with the intention of debating, but their commitment to it can falter due to a variety of factors.: They lose interest, IRL is too busy, or they forget.
DART is really just an infinite time-loop platform where if you forfeit a debate, you can always keep starting over, and do it right the next time. Or the next time after that.
Priority and time management seems to be the major factor.

I've given this some thought, and here is where I classify them currently. This list may be inaccurate. In which case, feel free to correct it with your own.
- whiteflame
- Blamonkey
- Barney
- Savant
- Wylted
To be completely honest. I am not sure who is the superior debater between Barney and Savant. As far as I am currently aware, neither one has lost a debate. And both seem to operate on an equal level and debate the same subjects, but on different sides.
Savant usually debates abortion and is capable of debating either side, but usually defends the position that abortion is immoral.
Barney always sticks to his position of pro-choice. It's difficult for me to compare these two, and I would have to see them debate against each other to realistically compare.
Between blamonkey and whiteflame, this same comparison is very tricky because it's very close. But I'd argue that whiteflame is slightly better enough for the distinction to be subtly obvious.

The core issue is this: The people are generally not paying attention. Even the greater engagement of late is just die hard radicals growing in number. If people are happy in 2028 they're going to give credit to Trump and they are very likely to go with whoever he endorses.
That could be true.
But there's a huge possibility that Mharman's suggestion would work. Ron Paul is very influential, using a tactic like Social Proof has the potentiality to turn the tide.
I suppose ADOL is right about the success of a plan like this would fail if MAGA's loyalty to Trump is irreversible.
