Discussions of many so called "mythical" subjects and fantasies are discussed and studied all around the world in every school collage and university. Billions of Books have been written on these "mythical" beings and what is believed about them by different peoples past and present and by theists and atheist alike.
Shakespeare's works are for ever boring pupils and students all around the world, they are not true, factual stories. But they are discussed and studied even in non speaking English countries.

It is my contention that these subjects should be discussed weather or not one believes "gods" existed or not. The point you are missing is that millions of people over millions of years have worshiped these beings in one form or another and millions simply do not believe as such but it doesn't stop them discussing these subjects. Theists write and speak as if they existed or still exist. It is up to the atheist then, should he wish to , to challenge what it is that these sycophantic fawning theist actually believe in .

It's somewhat naïve to assume that an actual god would be a particular one that you prefer to refer to.
I refer to the god spoken of in the biblical text that is believed by millions to exist.
My personal belief is that many of these so called gods existed here once millennia ago, but have since returned from where they came. . Interesting that you mention plural gods though which is something that the bible refers to often without any excuses for "mistranslation" yet , our fawning backward thinking sycophants will insist that there is only "one god". My husband and myself have been very open nudist for 25 years and we wonder why in the year of 2020 is public nudity not an accepted behavior. We have discussed the subject with several of our friends (many of them are Christians) and we still have not really gotten a great answer to why there is still such a taboo with the subject. We have both gone as far as going naked in public and we have never gotten a real negative reaction and in fact have gotten the THUMBS up reaction. Anyway, feel free to join the discuss with any comments that you would like to make and we will get back to everyone.
Strange that in the bible we are created butt naked and had been happily going about our daily lives for some time in the state of nakedness and then god has an argument with snake and we all have to cover up immediately because for some unexplained reason, suddenly, nakedness is sinful and taboo.
Only the bible can come up with such explainable bilge. But I suppose some backward thinking Christian will be along soon to rewrite the story by adding there own theories and thoughts and presenting said theories and thoughts as fact to make it make less sense now than it did back then, thousands of years ago.

UFOs (in the purest sense) are no longer science fiction.
They were never "science fiction" in the first place. UFO's have always been just objects in the sky that are "unidentified". People have been witnessing them for millennia. They are also depicted in many medieval works of art; Crivelli (the Annunciation) & De Gelder's (Baptism of Christ) work leaps to mind.
That said, there are interesting passages in the scriptures that speak of some kind of craft acceding and descending to and from the sky which were certainly identified by the ancients. Indeed they described these craft in the best terms that they could i.e. "a chariot".
Compare that description to the plains Indians of the North American calling the steam train the "iron horse" then we can begin to get an better understanding of what the ancients may have been trying to describe.
I know what a TV is but I cannot explain how pictures can be broken down into invisible waves and transported from one place to another while remaining in the same place.
Were these ancient craft "chariots" of the gods? Were the gods simply intelligent beings from another place " up there"? The circumstantial evidence for both being possible , to my mind, piles up year after year.
But don't expect a delusional theist to agree with any of these theories/possibilities. Because like I have said many times before, there is no cure for blinkered and ignorant stupidity.
