Why do you want to lynch RM and why not Grey. Grey buddied with him without any analysis. No analysis is Grey’s MO, but do you find that sus or not?
This is now that I know RM's claim...

Grey has a tendency to be lazy as town for awhile. He simply has not had the same care of mafia as he once did, therefore I do not believe his buddying of RM is an indication of his scum/town, but jut lack of effort that can't be read. If I had to choose, it'd be a town read though

Now RM is a different story. RM has been consistently tunnel vision throughout this process. We know RM has an ego but that's not a part of mafia reads.
1) Vanillizer. In a 7 person game there is a vanillizer. That is essentially a SOP role in a 7 person game. That has no use in a game like this besides negative town effect. There is 2/7 you hit scum with 1/7 chance they are a scum PR and there is at least 5/7 chance they are town (assuming we have 2 vanillas), 3/7 role. Unless there is an issue with the game's balance, this role is inherently scummy. Then you may ask, but it's so oblique, it has to be town? I would argue this. RM puts a lot of effort into his games he plays and I believe he would 100% take the time to go and hunting for obscure roles to make his case look better so it could "town confirm him"

2) Gameplay. When I have played with RM. He has almost never been so gunho about every PR claiming in this game at all. Why now of all times is he deciding to do it claiming how it worked last time? Not to mention, he has been very defensive as a whole to his style and adamantly talking back to others.

I am a townsided vanillaizer (or iser if you prefer that). 1x shot, I turn a town PR to vanilla or mafia PR to Goon.
In a 7 person game there's a vanillaizer? Lol

@whiteflame
This one also throws me off a bit. Whiteflame usually talks a bit more in depth to certain degrees about the mechanics of his belief and why it should not be implemented. This seems like a bit of a dodgy response to try and respond to RM to critique this ridiculous idea of his, but doesn't want to feel like over tunneling to where it could set himself up for failure if scum
Again, wasn’t my first response to the tactic. Feels like a pretty basic problem that doesn’t require a lot of depth to understand: getting claimed PRs to use for future CCs when that provides so little information to town is not worth the cost of narrowing the number of targets for mafia. RM’s idea only works if everyone claims a PR, and even then, the benefit of knowing that there are no vanillas does scant little for town, and that assumes no one is lying. Didn’t feel the need to go into more depth and I still don’t. I tend to avoid tunneling regardless of the game, especially this early, regardless of my affiliation, so I don’t know how you feel that sets me apart in this game.

It was not your first response, but it was the primary response. It gave more of a reason to why it's a bad idea and still lacked something. This is a better explanation as to how but seems like was pressured with what I said. I just felt you let RM get away very easy with a bad strategy IMO compared to the other people, which is why I slight scum read you at the of writing post. But this could certainly change

There's one thing that stuck out to me that i 100% will admit could be a bit of an overreaction, but this urks me the wrong way

The way he doesn't openly state, no I am not in favor threw me off a hinge a bit. But this is a bit of an overreaction

It is a little thing in behavior, and it is not enough to want to me lynch or force pressure on him, but something I note as suspicious regarding WF

@That2User
why does Supa have a slight scum read on wf tho?
I usually believe that WF is passive as a player, but this seems a bit overly passive to something whiteflame is against. I also will pivot too the fact it is extremely hard to read WF behaviorally and I also have not played mafia in awhile (not to make excuses for my gameplay, but to show that I am rusty in certain metas).

@ILikePie5
It's a bit fishy to suggest RM would be town at all with him statement at all about the PR, especially since RM did not specify his PR. Unless RM has a specific meta he sticks by like GP, there's no reason to already suggest town behavior. In fact, the opposite of what he said should imply since GreyParrot sticks by his meta.

What RM said is scummy, since I have not seen him personally do any of the hard "PR roles claim auto approach."

I don't think it's enough to force him to claim, especially in a 7 person game where it's my belief no one should claim unless we are down to L-1 when one fuck up can be made.

I also haven't engaged in enough of Earth's behavior to behaviorally tell him based on what they post, hence why I am neutral, but I do think a clarification/press of his thoughts is not bad, just not a role claim since I believe role claiming NOW in a game like this only sets up town to fail in the long run

Pie plays mafia strict on DP1 most times that he is in the game from the start, I don't know where this notion he didn't is coming from

Whiteflame comes off as very passive in this game with regards to how he believes. I do not remember if this is a town tell or scum tell from him but that is something I note. There really is not anything uncanny or off putting about his game

It is an idiotic strategy in a 7 person game to claim power roles off the start. Maybe if this was a 13 person or hell, a 19 person. But a 7 person? No reason to do in Dp1 to give mafia a way into killing the only ways to gather evidence

Town is clueless  into who's mafia. Having evidence to go into a DP is crucial to winning games where one fuck up guarantee's failure

My time has relaxed finally, so I am to write in my votes for the Hall of Fame

Users
Greyparrot - #1 forum poster, active on the site, he has been a pillar to the site in helping the political forum survive and was very influential into the spread of mafia

3RU7AL - Presidential candidate with over 13k forum posts, he ran a very good campaign overall. Not to mention he is a very likeable person and contributes a lot to the site

iLikePie5 - someone who has consistently been around on the site, while he may not be the most prolific debater, he has certainly engaged in the community being the #5 best poster all time

My decision are not final and are subject to change, but this is what I'm feeling at this moment

@Mharman
I think it has to do with a desire old members tend to have
My intention for my vote with Airmax was not to relive the days of DDO, but I believed that Max laid out the best plan for the growth of the site and laid out the proper ways in which growth could be made on this site. At the end of the day, this was a close election and really could have gone either way. In hindsight we can say Airmax was the wrong choice, but if you're someone new to the site and you see a whole revitalization plan laid out, it would convince me that this person was right for the job. Could it have been predicted he'd go AWOL? To a degree, but even Lunatic was severely disappointed in Airmax's committed, as they promised not only, us, the moderation, but to those who voted him in.

I would say the site has not lowered in quality with him as president, but it did not have the "boom" we were promised out of him. I am interested to see who will run for this years election now that Airmax can not run.

Ugly vs Attractive
-->
@Avery
How is TWS's existence affecting the physical attractiveness of people? What about TWS makes people overeat or be born with down syndrome?
It's not. His issue is him binding his own damn business about what other people do and are. He has no right (in society) to be commenting on someone else when there are certainly things in his life he could criticized for equally compared to those peoples. Why does he care that there are ugly people? How does it affect him in his daily life? Does he immediately get disgusted by their appearance by a look? If that's the case, it's a him problem because 98% of the population DO NOT care about a bystanders looks enough to comment, therefore it is a him issue that needs evaluated by a professional psychologist

Hall of Fame IV - Nominations
Greetings DebateArt!

Today is the first stage of the Hall of Fame process. This stage will last from now until October 22nd, at 12:30 CST. A few reminders about the Hall of Fame.

  • Mass PM threads, campaigning, and coordinating votes is prohibited. If any votes are found to be correlated, the votes will be nullified
  • You can vote for anyone you would like (as long as isn't an excessively bad choice (someone permabanned)), but do note that moderation has the right to nullify any thread, user, or debate if believed to be working in coordination with people to obtain votes
  • Self voting is allowed, though it gives you a bad look as it goes against the integrity of the Hall of Fame
For the nomination stage, you can nominate 3 users, 3 threads, and 3 debates to be nominated and put into the Hall of Fame! If the votes are relatively close, we will choose 4-6 nominees per category and proceed to the voting stage.

In addition, you may select miscellaneous things as well (things that don't fit either category)

Good luck,
SupaDudz

Are Chicago sports on the rise?
Bears:
Drafted Justin Fields. Surrounded themselves with a young core. Still a great team that drafted amazingly this year offensively. Amazing defensively. Potential division champions if Fields pans out
Yet to see. New management is OK and while Fields has looked rough, he had a good game vs the Vikings

Bulls:
New management. Acquired Lonzo Ball, Demar DeRozan, and other assests. New starting 5...

Lonzo Ball
Demar Derozan
Demar Rozan
Patrick Williams
Nikola Vucevic

Also Caruso and Coby White are on the bench.
Aged like fine wine. Still one of the best teams in the league with some nice young pieces
Blackhawks:
Just acquired Venzina winning goalie Marc Andre Fleury from the Golden Knights. Also acquired Seth Jones from the Blue Jackets (though he was overpayed). They could make a playoff push this year with some of the key core still in tact
Aged as well as milk

White Sox:
One of the best teams in baseball right now with a 62-44 record. There roster includes

C. Yasmani Grandal
1B. Jose Abreu
2B. Cesar Hernandez
SS. Tim Anderson
3B. Yoan Moncada
LF. Eloy Jimenez
CF. Luis Robert (when healthy)/Brian Goodwin
RF. Adam Engel
DH. Gavin Sheets

Their pitching is looking insane as well
Lance Lynn
Carlos Rodon
Lucas Giolito
Dallas Keuchel
Dyan Cease

Oh and their bullpen is arguable the best in the MLB
Liam Hendriks
Craig Kimbrel
Garrett Crochet
Aaron Bummer
Ryan Tepera
Michael Kopech
Fuck Tony La Russa. Bad year with injuries in 2022 and had incompetent managing, and then they lost to the Stros the year I made that post

The only team that is in rebuild mode is the Cubs and they got a good return for their plays for the most part

Chicago might be a big sports city in 2020's

Update Regarding President Airmax1227 (10/12/22)
Greetings DebateArt

The moderation team and I understand that president Airmax has not properly fulfilled his duty as president of DebateArt.com. This comes after months of constant messaging and PM’ing to try to get his attention, but to no avail. Airmax has gone months with no reply or contribution of any sorts to the site. Therefore, after a vote between advisors and mods alike, as of October 12th, 2022, Airmax is no longer the president of DebateArt.com and the presidency is currently vacant. Airmax is barred from running for election again in the future. In the meantime, the presidency will remain vacant from 10/12/22 until the next presidential election. We hope this decision can be understood, and we hope for the best when it comes to the next presidency

Finally, we as a moderation team did not prepare an impeachment plan as we did not anticipate it to happen. This is a lack of foresight on our part and we will soon work on an impeachment plan in the near future... For now, the decision was made based on a moderation vote and was based on an agreed upon plan by the moderation team.

Regards,
Supa & The moderation team
