Greetings DebateArt.
Over the past 5 years, DebateArt.com has been something I have enjoyed being a part of a great community of debaters and personalities over my time as a moderator and debater. The countless memories and friends I have made are irreplaceable and the time I spent here was well spent.
However, it is blatantly known that I am not active as a deputy moderator, and my activity level has stagnated over the past year. This is mostly due to my busy schedule with school and other extracurriculars. A good amount of that also concerns my lack of desire to debate.
I simply find no pleasure in getting into debates and other joys I had when I first joined the site. This has caused a drastic downfall in my activity because I just see nothing and feel nothing positive about debating people. When I do not feel passionate about something, I lose interest until I abandon it completely, which is what happened as time went on.
My time is also a big issue as well. I have taken over 18+ credit hours worth of classes + being in an executive position in my fraternity + being on the marketing team of an upstart company. This has consumed my time, and not to mention, the lack of passion I have for debating makes me put this website in the very depths of my mind.
So what is next? After 5 years on this site, it is time to retire and quit. I will be stepping down from my position as deputy moderator and leaving the site. My final act as moderator will be appointing the newest deputy mod that will replace me. This will be announced in the coming days. From there, I will no longer be an acting mod on the website.
Thank you to my fellow mods, whiteflame and Ragnar, who I got to mod with and I appreciate the service they have brung over the past 2 years. There are a bunch of other people I can thank as well, but I do not want to drag on this post. I also will not fully vacate the site either, so if you ever need an extra for Mafia, just shoot me a DM.
I have no doubt that this site will achieve great success without my presence. I got to know so many well-rounded people that have helped this site so many ways that I have no problem hanging up the moderator cleats and letting the sun set on my time at DebateArt.com.

Pie: Koro-sensei from Assassination Classroom. You are a green yellow blob that teaches students. You proclaim to your students that you are going to destroy the world and the students need to kill him in order to save the world. However, you turn out to be a great teacher that teaches valuable life lessons and it turns out that the current form you are in was because of an experiment gone wrong and now you have to die according to the government, where your last wish was to teach students. Because of your shift in original perception, you are the Miller. You appear guilty on all cop reports. Win with the town.
Badger: Nagi Seishiro from Blue Lock. You are a very unmotivated soccer player with tremendous talent but never wanted to use it if it weren’t for your friend. You were so lazy that you didn’t even want to walk. However, after playing against Isagi during the first stage, you become extremely passionate about the game of soccer and want to become better than Isagi. Endgame Comments: Wow. This game was like flipping a coin heads or tails for what side would make the wrong move first. Mafia got some bailouts, like the redirect on Pie, but that also means that the night kill would have had to be on Pie too as well. C'mon guys it’s not hard damn it.
First, Best.Korea had a 1x Motivator. Why would he decide to use that Motivator on NP1? Not the best target???
Austin needs to seriously work on his mafia and deception skills. Deflecting off of town, lacking compliance, and even thinking of claims. Austin reeked of scum all game through his somewhat aggressiveness the entire time and at the end the last ditch appeal by saying my explanations sucked. We can lie but if you're gonna lie at least say, a silencer for the whole game is so OP! Not when someone (whiteflame) knows the anime says some of the justifications are good and make sense.
Wylted…you need to figure out how to fake a claim. The one thing that could have EASILY proven your point. I have never seen “Key Team Epic”. Tbh, I’m surprised whiteflame did not catch on to that, but regardless, I left so many options out there, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and even Naruto! A lot of mainstream anime I didn’t choose were out there and just were not capitalized on. Mafia dug themselves into a whole
Town did a pretty good job hunting scum, but it became very obvious who scum were by the end. I’d say mvp was whiteflame. He was on with his reads and helped town decipher role→justifications. I’d try maybe interacting less with scum reads, as remember, you are trying to convince town that they are scum, not argue with the scum. Inactivity sucked, and crystalynx, I’m sure you are a pleasant person, but please do not sign up for my games unless you intend to be more active than just 2 posts per DP. You seem nice and a joy, but it is relatively frustrating when town can get nothing done because of you.
On balance, I made this game a bit swingy but I think it worked out in favor. For one, one side had manipulation roles and one had essentially skill roles. Which means if scum lost one they’d lose that whole part. Also, That2 could use any ability they wanted once they found out what it was. Cop and lawyer 1x, tracker and ninja 1x, doc and strongman. 1x Motivator and roleblocker. Miller as a SoP, and the redirect for 1x person. 2 vanillas as well. All the town roles were only counterable if the mafia chose to use them on the right day and on the right person. I think game was balance for the most part
The theme was antagonist vs protagonist. Simple. Mafia was not given any fake claims, role, or what the theme was. Kamina was always watching over Simon despite his death in the series. And Roy Mustang was a high authoritarian figure in the empire who wanted to find the truth over his friend’s death, thus he would be a cop as a cop reveals a persons affiliation, and Roy Mustang wanted to find out the affiliation the killer of his friend had.

I have no rules when it comes to calling people using foul language. I believe freedom of speech is important to moderating a game, especially when emotions get high. If someone is making attacks on you, they are just ruining their own character. However, very rarely will I intervene and will only intervene when the feud and obscenities become so excessive that it derails a game. You will not be modkilled for this, but a hard warning will be in place. I have a high tolerance for those feuds and have no problems with them, but don't be so excessive to the point of ruining the game.

The moderation team and I understand that president Airmax has not properly fulfilled his duty as president of DebateArt.com. This comes after months of constant messaging and PM’ing to try to get his attention, but to no avail. Airmax has gone months with no reply or contribution of any sorts to the site. Therefore, after a vote between advisors and mods alike, as of October 12th, 2022, Airmax is no longer the president of DebateArt.com and the presidency is currently vacant. Airmax is barred from running for election again in the future. In the meantime, the presidency will remain vacant from 10/12/22 until the next presidential election. We hope this decision can be understood, and we hope for the best when it comes to the next presidency
Finally, we as a moderation team did not prepare an impeachment plan as we did not anticipate it to happen. This is a lack of foresight on our part and we will soon work on an impeachment plan in the near future... For now, the decision was made based on a moderation vote and was based on an agreed upon plan by the moderation team.

On October 19th, the Moderation team will be commencing the fourth annual DART Hall of Fame. The DART Hall of Fame is a process in which we honor users, forums, and debates that have made an impact on the community as a whole. This tradition was carried over from Debate.org, and we have continued it from there to here. Below will explain the process of the Hall of Fame...
October 19th through October 22nd - Users can nominate three of the following from each selected category (users, debates, and forums). The nominees with the most nominations will enter the final voting stage
October 23rd through October 26th - Users will select three nominees from each category that they believe deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. The nominees with the most votes will be selected for the Hall of Fame
In addition to the main categories, there is also a miscellaneous category for which you can nominate funny moments, a certain post, or anything that doesn’t fit the requirements of the main categories.
There are no prerequisites or eligibility requirements for users to participate in the Hall of Fame nominating or voting processes, except that they have an account on DART and are not voting/nominating from more than one account. Importantly, coordinating votes or severe spamming of votes is prohibited. This will result in all votes that were deemed as spam nullified. You may argue with people on their choice if warranted, but mass campaigning is prohibited. Private PM's with groupchats is prohibited. This process is about awarding those with merit or importance, and not about awarding those who can cajole the most voters. Also, more exact start and end times will be made clear in the threads in question, to ensure there is no ambiguity as to when the processes begin and conclude. Please be sure to check these times

This is a question that I would love to discuss more about because I have seen keen observation with regards to how COVID has effected the COVID teens, teens which grew up in the COVID era where isolation ran ramped.
This year was the first year that schools fully reopened to the public. And as a result, we tend to see negative behavior. Personally, I saw from my senior friends that people were getting into fights everyday, people were doing lines of crack in the bathroom, and other things that I would NEVER see in my school before COVID hit. At first, I thought it was because of other controversies going on within the school, but as I talked to more people, the more I noticed a frequent pattern
First off, my aunts work for the CPS and have been exposed to the madness that is that union, and they have never seen such behaviors such as this. From an active shooter on campus, multiple classroom disruptions, and a snarky and rude attitude. This is a repeating pattern when I talk to teachers who teach these grades.
Finally, the saddest of all, is the school shooting threats. There have been massive school shooting threats around the country like we've never seen. My old high school had 4 in a week, something unheard of.

With isolation and lockdown, you are bound to get in arguments with the people you live with. You will disagree with them, you agree with them, and the constant yelling occurs to the point of divorce. As a child, when you hear that, you want to drown it all away and take your anger out on something. The examples above are a prime way of how to destress, but another way is sadly...Alcohol
I'm not gonna sit here and lie, I started drinking during COVID too. I watched the TV shows I watched, tried to make as much conversations as I could, what else could I possibly do? When your parents argue and you run out of ideas, the idea of alcohol consumption is not as bad as once made it out to be. Now many people drink alcohol at parties, even Freshman, something I never in my wildest dreams would have thought to happen. People get bored, they try to new things, they like the things, and they continue

Yesterday, I was able to speak with Airmax about his plans for the presidency and what his goals are
Airmax's main focus for this election was advertising. He wanted to make an effective ad campaign for DART to function on.
"I believe DART needs to an activity boost to the highest degree. For a site with excellent functionality, there is no reason why we should have only 20 unique members posting in 24hours. While activity is needed, our ad campaign needs to be gradual. A mass spike in users would hurt the site due to people logging in and then leaving. In order to maintain a stable level of activity, we must slowly boost the activity and advertise enough to gradually make this site boom."
In regards to moderation, Airmax stated...
"I believe the moderators are capable of handling their jobs well. I should only have a small input in the say of moderation. I am a person who believes in lassiez fair and current moderation hold my beliefs true."

First off, I am not the type of person to reflect on the past, but to learn from the past and apply it to the future. If I’m ever feeling sad and just down, I brush it off in a day and go about my merry way. 2021 challenged this notion a lot.
For one, my life drastically changed when I got to university. I had to hit restart on a life I built and recreate it in a new environment. It was certainly challenging, but challenged completed. I had my off days and such, but I was to push through them
I think the moment in 2021 that really made me push back on the world and reflect was the loss of a friend due to suicide nearly a year ago today. I don’t think I’ve ever been as lost or as damaged as I was in that time. I took life slower, reflecting on my life and reflecting on the world around me. When this same scenario happened with a different friend who luckily failed at doing such. It really made me look to the world and ask questions about the way we think, the way we live, and the value of life. The world went from a blur to a tint. I saw things differently and experienced different emotions and such.
This year brought me success as well. Getting into my top university, getting a girlfriend, graduating, forming a close bond with friends, I feel I accomplished a lot that led me to happiness. Not to mention I was also promoted to a deputy mod of this site after 3 years of using the site.
2021 was a year that made me reflect on life and switch up the pace of the world. 2021 was one of the most impactful years of my life to date with happy moments and sad moments.
So cheers to 2022 and a toast to 2021, the most important year of my life

Fairy Tail is not even close to being my favorite animes. It has constant repetition, lack of character development, and overall bland arcs for the most part. Yet you'd think it would rank lower than lots of my shows. But why does it stand at a 6/10? The answer. It's bad enough to where it's good
The characters are likeable, the interactions with every character is likeable. There is a sense of family when you are watching Fairy Tail that makes you so intrigued to watch. You aren't watching the complex and well written characters fight, you are watching some fun actions thats turn off the brain fun, not some amazing thriller which requires tons of knowledge.
Yes, Fairy Tail is not great. But it does a good job of being bad

DONDA is the newest track from prominent Chicago artist Kanye West.
Kanye West debuts a massive 27 track album with various hidden messages and such throughout the track, his first major product since The Life of Pablo in 2016. DONDA is an unique experience that feels like a mess that has direct meaning.
The features on this album are great on this album. From Fivio's drill bars to Don Toliver's harmonic and levitating voice on Moon, the features on this track are strong and help this track. Kanye himself sounds raw and emotion and while having some corny bars, Kanye also has some of the best reflections and themes on this album that I have seen Kanye do in a while.
Kanye does some deep reflections on Jesus Lord, the first time we see Kanye truly explore his mothers passing in a deep and emotion way with harmonic and beautiful pianos
The first half of the leg consists of Kanye being trapped, with the beats symbolizing darkness, with Jail, the lead tracks, dark guitars and chanting by Kanye. Kanye feels trapped in the current world he is in, with great symbolisms and such. The peaks of Donda are some of the best music Kanye has put out in years now. And then the back half feels more open, free, and is more beautiful, symbolizing Kanye becoming more religious and in touch with his life with some great piano and synth keys
While this project has it's ultimate highs, it also has a lot of inconsistencies and problems that come with 27 song project. The part 2's don't do much for the entire album and just feel redundant and unneeded, with the features as well being less quality. There are also times where the intros and conclusions drag on longer than needed and some songs just feel boring and time fillers. At times, the track can feel like a cluttered mess versus a cluttered painting, which can be off putting
Despite these flaws, this one of Kanye's best albums he has put out in the Kim Kardashian era. With a general focus that feels like a continuous painting, beautiful vocals, some of the most intimate Kanye moments, this album is a sign of hope for Kanye that Kanye can resume to the ways of making amazing music

I think town played pretty well in this game overall. Was shocked that the lynched turned to Disc in DP3 and almost thought Poly would be lynched (which would be a few times). I think killing Speed wasn't the best move as he was effectively useless with his role, and killing Wylted would give town a huge disadvantage. Overall a fun game

You can choose between two option, a game with no theme split or a game with a theme split. These are two completely different themes

Supa's Rule and Regulations
- No editing or deleting posts of any kind
- No outside communication of mafia game (private PMs, other forum chats, other members) unless designated to do so
- There will 72hr day phases and, 24hr night phases unless there is activity level that below 75-125 posts within this time frame. From there, 24hrs extensions will be given ONCE and ONCE only for the DP.
- To contact SupaDudz about anything, private message me or ping me in game
- If I mess up a vote count, please let me know asap so I can correct it. If I mess up anything within the game, please let me know. Humans are not perfect
- Follow the basic CoC rules (no doxxing, attempt to doxx, etc.)
Failing to do any of these things will result in a warn or modkill
Clarifications
I have no rules when it comes to calling people using foul language. I believe the freedom of speech is important to moderating a game. If someone is making attacks on you, they are just ruining their character. However, very rarely will I intervene. I will only intervene where the feud and obscenities becomes so excessive that is derails a game. You will not be modkilled for this, but a hard warn will be in place. I have a high tolerance for those feuds and have no problems with them, but don't make excessive to the point of ruining the game.

The DART Hall of Fame is a process in which we honor users, forums, and debates that have made an impact on the community as a whole. This tradition was carried over from Debate.org, and we have continued it from there to here. Below will explain the process of the Hall of Fame...
August 5th through August 8th - Users can nominate three of the following from each selected category (users, debates, and forums). The nominees with the most nominations will enter the final voting stage
August 9th - August 12th - Users will select three nominees from each category that they believe deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. The nominees with the most votes will be selected for the Hall of Fame
In addition to the main categories, there is also a miscellaneous category for which you can nominate funny moments, a certain post, or anything that doesn’t fit the requirements of the main categories.
There are no prerequisites or eligibility requirements for users to participate in the Hall of Fame nominating or voting processes, except that they have an account on DART and are not voting/nominating from more than one account. Importantly, coordinating votes or severe spamming of votes is prohibited. This will result in all votes that were deemed as spam nullified. You may argue with people on their choice if warranted, but mass campaigning is prohibited. Private PM's with groupchats is prohibited. This process is about awarding those with merit or importance, and not about awarding those who can cajole the most voters. Also, more exact start and end times will be made clear in the threads in question, to ensure there is no ambiguity as to when the processes begin and conclude. Please be sure to check these times
I am posting this update now to (a) brief you on the process, (b) give notice about the restrictions placed on campaigning and vote coordinating/rigging, and (c) give you time to consider who/what you would like to nominate, come August 5th!

Simon Biles is amazing at gymnastics, let's get this straight. She didn't need to prove anything to anyone. I also do think it was best for her to step down
Regarding performance, mentality is key, especially in solo sports where the light is all on you. When I did shot put, if I put negative ideas and such into my head, it would ultimately lead to poorer results in my throws as such. Being in a proper mental state is essential into scoring well and if that is truly the reason she withdrawed, there is no issue. Mentality is key to the Olympic games and if Simon had consistently negative thoughts and was fighting demons that led to her performing at less than she should, she should resign and allow others to continue. I also could tell the sharp difference between her 2020 performance and 2016. It shows her deterioration (granted her deterioration is still the best in the world), if it impacts US performance, she should resign.
This will not be the end of Simon Biles. For god sake she is insane and so good that a move was named after heard, but other analysis like Charlie Kirk should really be quiet on the matter, especially with little sports knowledge or experience
