->@oromagiThey should simultaneously prosecute people who murder jews, and also not attack freedom of speech
Well, now you've changed the subject of your thesis from Jews to the police. I think you should concede this forum as hopelessly fucked up by your compulsive anti-Semitism, then start a new forum entitled "Even French Anti-Semites ought to enjoy the Freedom of Speech" to which thesis you might even find some agreement among your more rational confederates and which also has the advantage of not making up lies about Jews.

With common sense. When we say Bush committed war crimes, we don't mean he literally personally tortured Iraqis himself. We mean he was responsible for it.
I see, so now you have to prove Jews control the French Criminal Justice system- which is manifestly untrue.
Consider, for example, the recent anti-Semitic murder of retired physician Sarah Halimi. Although her drug dealing next door neighbor had previously attacked her for being Jewish and most of the residents of the apartment witnessed him call her "Shaitan" as he beat her and then threw her out her bedroom window, authorities took more than three months to even arrest him and refused to call the murder anti-Semitic in nature. When the courts claimed they could not prosecute the murder because the murderer had smoked a lot of weed and therefore could not be held responsible for his anti-Semitic outburst, there was an international outcry by the Jewish community. When the Court of Cassation upheld the verdict, there were protests from L.A. to Tel Aviv.
If Jews corruptly controlled the French Criminal Justice system, wouldn't Kobili Traoré be in jail today?

We will have to wait 20 years to test how many adults have sociopathic tendencies before we can be certain,
Why? There are plenty of cultures where mothers cover their faces to a far greater degree than CDC recommendations- Muslims, Coptic Christians, etc. If your theory has any validity you should be able to establish increased sociopathy related to covered-face cultures right now.

-->@oromagiUnions prejudiced the Left and Trump prejudiced the Right against TPP.Why would Unions be anti TPP
- Increased competition in labor markets as lower wage labor becomes available to US companies.
- NAFTA promised some labor protections but enforcement mechanisms were weak and ultimately advantaged Mexican labor for choosing to ignore most of the agreed protections.
- In spite of huge gains in GDP, no subsequent wage increase followed in the US. The top 1% pretty much kept all the proceeds of NAFTA.
- US rules and regulations would be subject to civil suits and international negotiations. So, if an Indonesian employer with a factory in the US wanted to challenge US overtime pay, they had at least some legal venues which Unions feared.
and why would the right be anti TPP?
Generally, Wall St. and corporate America were on board but Trump beat the crap out of Bush, Christie, Fiorina, etc mostly just using a lot of ignorant arguments like "so complicated nobody knows what in it" and "imperils US sovereignty." Rubio, and Cruz were sort of middle-roaders on TPP and quickly caved to try to win the Trump voters. Pretty quickly, TPP came to stand for that establishment that Trump voters hated.
By the time of the election, most US politicians were publicly united against TPP while most were also secretly favored some kind of anti-China trading block. If US politicians support TPP, they should be open with their beliefs and not lie to their voters to get elected.
Well, I agree. Obama and Biden never changed their support for TPP. Bush and Romney never changed their support for TPP. But the voters didn't care. Unions withheld their PAC money until Hillary caved. Trump has consistently been rewarded by the Right for lying to them about just about every subject imaginable- I genuinely don't believe an honest Republican is electable in America today. Let's recall that both China and Russia deeply despised the agreement since it shut them out by design and both invested millions in creating fake news about TPP in US media with incredible effectiveness. US media didn't cover it much because trade agreements are boring so foreign disinformation totally overwhelmed honest reporting on the subject.
When Trump tried to destroy NAFTA the following year, a whole parade of conservative economists visited the White House and finally managed to persuade Trump that NAFTA had actually been a pretty significant net gain for the US- an extra $400 billion GDP/year. If Trump had the facts before running for President, TPP would very likely be constricting Chinese expansion today. If Trump supports TPP now, why isn't he going out and supporting TPP which has improved the American economy?
When has Trump ever expressed an opinion merely because America might benefit? The answer is never. Trump clearly believes in the safety and effectiveness of vaccinations having invested heavily in expedited vaccine development during his final year in office. Pundits and health professionals frequently point out that Trump could single-handedly save ten of thousands of Americans lives right now by strongly advocating vaccines now but he consistently refuses.
If some new TPP like initiative were to be initiated by Biden in the next few years and Trump ran for office in 2024, you can be 100% confident that Trump would condemn the deal and run against it no matter what benefits he might perceive for Americans overall. Trump just doesn't play that way.
I hate China because of their political prisoners and I want America to exceed China's economy. TPP, combined with a LU military and the LU uniting to be one nation can contain China and expand the influence of America.

@oromagi
Why did the TPP fail? I personally like the TPP as it enabled free trade and cost very few jobs, and all of the workers for these jobs could find any of the 13 million job openings that the University of Georgetown claimed exist that pay both over $55K/year and that only require a HS degree to complete. I fail to see how TPP is a bad idea as it allows cheaper better goods to come from foreign countries and it also allows America to export more goods to foreign countries in return.
Politics. Unions prejudiced the Left and Trump prejudiced the Right against TPP. When Trump emerged as the front-runner, Hillary dropped her support for TPP hoping to deny Trump a campaign issue. By the time of the election, most US politicians were publicly united against TPP while most were also secretly favored some kind of anti-China trading block.

@Wylted
-->@oromagiYes. The harms done to babies by exposure to deadly new diseases like coronavirus far outweighs the harms done to children when Mom wears a mask during walks outside. That age range has virtually no deaths associated with coronavirus,
Of the 43 US states that report COVID numbers to the CDC, 403 infants under 1 yrs old have died from COVID-19 since Jan 4th. Children under 4 represent 1.4% of current hospitalizations and that number is sharply increasing right now as a result of the Delta mutation. Long term consequences of infection are fuzzy but significant -early data suggests a 1.4 year reduction in life expectancy across all people who were infected with the virus.
while nearly every child is effected by developmental issues if every mother started wearing masks 24/7, not to mention the anxiety issues caused by mass panic.
since there is zero chance of every mother wearing masks 24/7. In fact, there's not really much reason for parents to be outside with infants for extended periods of time- travel and walks around the block, mostly. Mass panic can be neatly avoided by turning off Tucker Carlson and ignoring over-the-top hysterical headlines like "Masks are Creating Sociopaths."

This is pretty precisely what the Trans-Pacific Partnership was designed to do and it was booed out of the room by both the American left and right in 2016. Since America recently and overwhelmingly opposed such a trade deal, why so you think the same deal will succeed with a new name?

none of that contradicts the stance I have given in this thread though
Sure it does.
We have established that your medical opinion is not rooted in research or reason. Your opinion is given to you by right-wing disinformation sites like Fox News. Fox News changed its editorial mind about vaccines last week after figuring out they were killing their viewership en masse. Fox switched from anti-vax to anti-mask. Therefore, your mind is likewise changed. When Fox News decides next week that masks are okay then you will likewise change your mind to match. If we want your opinion on something, why aren't we better off just watching Tucker Carlson?
Would you agree that zero harm done to babies is better than some harm done to babies?
Yes. The harms done to babies by exposure to deadly new diseases like coronavirus far outweighs the harms done to children when Mom wears a mask during walks outside.

Wylted: why are the jews arresting people?

@Wylted
-->@oromagiI was saying jews are obviously responsible for the law. If not who would have motive to create the law
Jews have very little legislative power in France. Although France has the third largest Jewish population in the world, Jews still only represent 6/10ths of 1% fo the French population. There are 12 French Arabs for every French Jew, by comparison. Even these numbers are deceptive as an indication of Jewish influence since there is very little Jewish establishment left in France. France killed about half of her Jews during Second World War and lost the majority of the Ashkenazi remainder to emigration. The majority of French Jews today are 1st or 2nd generation Sephardic immigrants from former French colonies, mostly Africans.
Incitement to discriminate was made illegal in France in 1881- section 24 of the Press Law. The law was written in reaction to anti-Arab discrimination and not written by or for Jews to any notable degree.
This statement is particularly revealing regarding Wylted's ignorance regarding and outlook on justice.

Let's agree that parents need not wear masks at home and that home is the safest place for families to be during the pandemic.
Let's also agree that the duration of mask wearing is almost entirely in the hands of the antivaxxers for whose benefit such recommendations have returned.
The Journal of Neonatal Nursing recommends:
Babies
- • Talk to the baby through the mask.
- •Try to keep mask wearing to a minimum.
- •When not wearing a mask, maximize the facial interaction between mother / father / caregiver and baby.
- •Find and implement alternative ways to communicate and connect during mask wearing- for example; mothers should be provided with clear face masks or clear face shields to ensure that bonding and attachment are not disrupted, and the baby’s attempts to learn to read faces are not thwarted.
- •For long-term babies in the neonatal unit (such as those who require complex surgical procedures), and for those babies whose family does not visit regularly, clear face masks would be recommended for a team of nurses caring for these babies. It is understood that these masks are more expensive than the regular masks worn by staff, therefore there will be an attempt to limit their use.
Infants and children
- •As above, plus … …
- •Let children see the mask and then put it on the face. Explain to children that the mask will be worn while outside which helps them anticipate.
- •Play peek-a-boo with the mask on and then away, revealing a smile so that they know the parent is still smiling under the mask.
- •Help the child learn from looking at the eyes and eyebrows to understand the expression and feeling.

Better than 1 in 5 engineers work for the US govt one way or another- a lot of it in power and waste mgmt. Because so much of engineering evolves out civil service, engineers generally tend to adopt an agnostic approach to US politics but you can't make a case that engineers aren't generally pro-government, even pro big government as an engine that makes big projects possible, which engineers often prefer given the frequent advantages of scale. I think you get a lot of conservative engineers in defense contracting, oil, and mining and a lot of liberal engineers in local government and public service but even the conservative types tend to be a more analytic breed than your typical malinformed Trump voter.

@Wylted
Wylted tried to suggest that Democrats were the more obese of the two major US political parties but was not able to bring any evidence to support his case. I have shown that Republicans generally and Trump voters specifically objectively suffer more from obesity than Democrats.
-->@oromagiRepublicans are the party of followers, strongly biased towards RepublicansYeah the group who is inundated with media every day telling them they are wrong, with schooling where leftist is drilled i to them from kindergarten and the ones who see their social media feeds with only left leaning information are just followers and believe what they are told. Smart reasoning oro. There is a reason why studies show real conservatives are more intelligent than liberals.
A lot of people warned the members of the People's Temple that Jim Jones was a bad guy and that it would all end in tears but that didn't make them any less followers when they drank the kool-aid. Most cultists by definition are moving against the mainstream but that doesn't make them independent thinkers.
When I say followers, I mean True Believers in the Eric Hoffer sense.
The study found a significant correlation between those men who were heavier and stronger and the belief that some social groups should dominate othersYeah, muscular people weigh more. That's why they used stronger and heavier combined instead of just going by weight.
Yes but you are trying to find some evidence that Republicans aren't objectively more obese than Democrats. Citing a study of 178 men that found that the heavier set the man, the more he wants to dominate others strongly undermines your thematic intent.
By counting the number of social organizations one belongs to- reasoning that the better looking you are, the more a joiner you are likely to beThat reasoning is backed up in other studies. Good looking people have more friends and are often invited to organizations, because people like being around them.
So you would agree then that an 80 year old grandmother who plays bridge three times a week is objectively hotter than a 20 year old woman who goes to the beach every weekend....not a very reasonable belief.
Think about your ideology though oromagi.
We have established before that you have little comprehension of most political ideologies.
Your beliefs are all about harming the strong because it benefits the weak. The weak cannot stand on their own merit, so they need to hurt the strong.
Liberals argue that strong vs weak is the self-delusion of Fascists- history consistently demonstrates that the people who call themselves the "strong" are typically the weakest links in our society, the newly poor who failed to replicate the achievements of their parent's generation and now think they can maintain power by force (i.e. "strong"). Liberals hold this truth to be self-evident- that all humans are and of a right ought to be equal in the business of self-governance. Strong vs. weak is a poor disguise for enfranchised vs subjugated. The Fascist continually worries that he is not strong and must prove his strength to himself by making others less worthy of enfranchisement.
If 10% of the population had just one eye, liberals would force everyone to wear an eyepatch.
American history refutes this claim soundly. For example, about 10% of the population is diabetic. If Republicans treated Americans with one eye the way they treat diabetics they would insist that one-eyedness was a pre-existing condition for which insurance companies can refuse to offer coverage, and prosthetic eyes would be considered cosmetic surgery, funneling the majority of the costs of one-eyedness into Medicare and Medicaid's contract with Curad Eye Patches while restricting the Feds from negotiating prices. As the price of eyepatches soars from $3 to $30, Republicans call their stockbrokers to buy Curad, cut Curad's taxes and fend off any attempts to break Curad's government-made monopoly as unwarranted government interference. Trump would have issued an executive order mandating federally-financed health centers only charge the one-eyed cost for eye patches and declared himself a champion of the one-eyed voter but the costs on the health centers in terms of responsibility for making sure that all the one-eyed were truly one-eyed and truly needed the financial aid were so burdensome that nobody implemented the plan and dropped the program as soon as Trump was out of office.
Democrats would insist that insurance companies cover one-eyedness alongside all other human maladies, including any prosthetics or surgeries recommended by a doctor, increasing competition and bringing eye-patch costs down in the long run. Dems would also limit total health care expenditures by offering tax credits for for families making less than $200,000 who spent more than 10% of income on healthcare.
Repu licans would try to get the one eyed people some sort of prosthetic eye or surgery to help them see better.
History tells us that any attempt to get the one-eyed people prosthetics or surgery would be resisted as wealth re-distribution and communism by the Republican party. Republicans would introduce bills to try to award prosthetic eye contracts to ping-pong ball manufacturers, claiming substantial price reductions by privatization. Tucker Carlson would falsely report that the government will soon be going door-to-door requiring everybody to wear an eyepatch. Although, FOX's claim would quickly prove untrue, 76% of Republicans would still believe that the government was forcing everybody to wear eye patches, in spite of the absence of any evidence.

The concept of disease eradication is sometimes confused with disease elimination, which is the reduction of an infectious disease's prevalence in a regional population to zero, or the reduction of the global prevalence to a negligible amount. Further confusion arises from the use of the term 'eradication' to refer to the total removal of a given pathogen from an individual (also known as clearance of an infection), particularly in the context of HIV and certain other viruses where such cures are sought.
The targeting of infectious diseases for eradication is based on narrow criteria, as both biological and technical features determine whether a pathogenic organism is (at least potentially) eradicable. The targeted pathogen must not have a significant non-human (or non-human-dependent) reservoir (or, in the case of animal diseases, the infection reservoir must be an easily identifiable species, as in the case of rinderpest). This requires sufficient understanding of the life cycle and transmission of the pathogen. An efficient and practical intervention (such as a vaccine or antibiotic) must be available to interrupt transmission. Studies of measles in the pre-vaccination era led to the concept of the critical community size, the minimal size of the population below which a pathogen ceases to circulate.[3] The use of vaccination programs before the introduction of an eradication campaign can reduce the susceptible population. The disease to be eradicated should be clearly identifiable, and an accurate diagnostic tool should exist. Economic considerations, as well as societal and political support and commitment, are other crucial factors that determine eradication feasibility.

@Fruit_Inspector
Two infectious diseases have successfully been eradicated: smallpox in humans and rinderpest in ruminants. There are four ongoing programs, targeting the human diseases poliomyelitis (polio), yaws, dracunculiasis (Guinea worm), and malaria.
Smallpox can be considered a respiratory virus.
SARS and MERS are two respiratory viruses that we had good success controlling with quarantines, masks, and social distancing but neither of those were eliminated.
The arguments that COVID quarantine and hygiene are ineffective in slowing the disease's progress are easily disproved but those measures are not recommended as part of a plan to eliminate the virus, rather those measures are trying to slow the rate of the pandemic to prevent overwhelmed healthcare systems and mitigate impacts to the economy while the vaccine is being propagated. The moving of the goal posts is not in response to the disease but to the demands of freedom. If the whole human population just locked down for three weeks, the progress of the disease would likely be controlled, but humans just don't do that very well. Therefore, restrictions are raised and applied with a mind towards maximizing freedom traded against the disease's progress.

-->@oromagiit's not even a controversial statement, just undeniable and unbeatable. Every study basically confirms it.
...and then he fails to bring even one study to the table. Two are about beauty and one confirms Republicans are the obeser of the two major political parties.
Good looking people (aka not fat) more likely to be republican
Obese (BMI 30+) is our standard here. Good looking is not a measurement. So how did Peterson, et. al. measure "good looking?" By counting the number of social organizations one belongs to- reasoning that the better looking you are, the more a joiner you are likely to be. So by this standard, an 80-year old grandmother who drives her scooter to 3 bridge games per week is objectively better looking an twenty something girl who hangs out the beach all weekend. Not likely to be a very accurate measurement and given how Republicans are the party of followers, strongly biased towards Republicans. Let's reject this study as unrelated to the question of Republican obesity.
Conservative politicians better looking as well
Total non-sequitur and totally biased towards Republicanism. Respondents were shown pictures of US Senators, US Governors, and Members of the European Parliament. People in Finland, Germany, Australia, and the US (so, mostly just white people) were asked to rate these (almost all old white men) on a scale of 1-10. No attempt was made to account for racial bias or the well known social bias both men and women hold for older men. The party that looks the most like the overwhelming white majority of voters polled is bound to be called more beautiful. Let's reject this study for being even further unrelated to the question of Republican obesity than the last study.
Physically fit people more likely to be conservative
The study did not evaluate physical fitness. "The study found a significant correlation between those men who were heavier and stronger and the belief that some social groups should dominate others. " According to your study, the fat 18-40 year-olds were the Republicans.

-->@oromagiI read several articles and studies saying that physically fit people are more likely to be conservative.
- Then you should cite those studies here. We have established that you are not a trustworthy reporter of such findings. The consensus of good science has demonstrated a long-standing correlation between Republicans and weight problems.
- Democrats are over 40% more likely than Republicans to say that they’re exercising more.
- Democrats and Independents are significantly more likely than Republicans to say they’ve participated in yoga, Pilates, or dance in the past 30 days
This is proof that Democrats participate in meme exercise like dance and yoga. This also does not contradict the fact liberals are genetically inferior fat asses.Republicans use sensible exercises like weight lifting and jogging. Go do yoga and continue to eat crap and think you are fit though.Plus 40% to say they are exercising more. How about you measure how many exercise frequently instead of "more".
It's your article- I'm just pointing out how you failed to read your own citation and how your only piece of evidence entirely undermines the point you are trying to make. Clearly you still haven't read it or you would have known that your own refutes you
- Over three in ten (34% Democrats, 31% Republicans, 36% Independents) have incorporated cardio, such as running, spinning/cycling, rowing, or ellipticals into their exercise regime.
- More Democrats do what you call "sensible exercise" than Republicans in you own poll, although aerobics, stretching, and dance are also excellent exercises that Republicans would benefit from if they weren't so allergic to athletics women do better than men.
Many studies confirm that Republicans exercise less than Democrats.
Kannan, et. al. 2018
Political orientation, political environment, and health behaviors in the United States
Republicans/conservatives ate fewer servings and fewer varieties of fruit and vegetables; ate more high fat and processed foods; and engaged in less in-depth health information searches compared to Democrats/liberals. Also, conservatives had lower odds of exercise participation than liberals; whereas Republicans had lower odds of flu vaccination.

Is that why the Republicans are all dying of COVID, because they are all morbidly obese? I thought that was just God weighing in.

@ebuc
Yeah, England is kept temperate by the Gulf Stream. I was there in the late October as the remnants of Hurricane Katrina hung over the islands for weeks- it was wet but very warm- you could be very comfortable in shorts and a raincoat. London is north of Fargo, even Calgary. If the Gulf Stream suddenly conks out, Northern Europe's climate becomes much more like Canada and Russia and the Sahara and the Middle East get much wetter real fast.

- In fact, Chef Jose Andres was Ivanka's favorite chef when the Trump Organization recruited him to open the ultra high end restaurant in the Trump International Hotel.
- When Trump called Mexican immigrants rapists during his presidential announcement speech, Andres, himself a Spanish-speaking immigrant, realized that associating with Trump would be extremely harmful to his brand and he pulled out of the Trump hotel deal.
- Trump sued Andres for $10 million and put him on the enemies list. Since all of Trump's enemies are accused of eating children pro forma, Andres has been on that list since Michael Flynn's early Pizzagate days.
- Andres countersued for $8 million saying Trump damaged his brand. Once Trump gave his deposition in the case, the Trump Org was forced to settle. The details are sealed but its clear that Trump ended up paying Andres.
- Trump has good reason to despise Andres, who immigrated to New York with $50 and turned himself into a millionaire restaurateur and famous philanthropist in the space of 12 years- a talent Trump has always admired but never understood. Andres is famous for the generosity and efficiency of his philanthropy, while Trump actually had to admit to stealing from charities for personal gain.
- When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, Andres made the Trump administration look like racist fuckups by serving 3.5 million meals out of his own pocket across the island when FEMA struggled to serve 50,000.
- During the pandemic, Andres offered a $50 gift certificate to anybody who got vaccinated
- Andres delivered millions of meals to Haiti after the 2012 Earthquake and millions more to FL and TX after Hurricanes.
- That's why Bezos handed Andres $100 million- few people have accomplished as much direct, efficient, essential philanthropy as Andres has out of his own pocket. Few people could be relied on to do more good with that money than Andres.
As has been long established, Wylted is a slave to the Right's disinformation campaigns. Wylted gathers no information and formulates no opinion independent of what he's told to believe by sites like Infowars or QAnon. Andres is an enemy of Trump, therefore any accusation, even knuckleheaded, evil, obvious lies like eating children must be believed and propagated unquestioningly. The quality of the man and the potential harms done to that man are irrelevant- Wylted obediently believes what he is told to believe.

My money is on three- three hours tops.

- prioritize loyalty to Trump over country and community

@Wylted
-->@oromagiI call bullshit. Up to you to prove philosophy determines more truth than science.Science is literally a branch of philosophy.
Sophistry and dodging. You said, " there are better ways of determining the truth than the scientific method anyway." Prove it.
The scientific community is not ideally using the scientific method. That's on you to proveThe scientific community understands that positivity bias, not enough people attempting to replicate studies and prior plausibility are problems. I'll refer you to the episode of Adam ruins everything where he discusses lack or replication in science. Remember the part of the scientific method where experiments are supposed to be replicated? It often gets skipped over. Also experiments and studies with no results do not get published by their nature. Prior plausibility is more controversial some claiming it is a bias, some saying it isn't and others saying it is a necessary bias because the alternative is worse.
Great. The subject is Coronavirus is really just the flu. You must demonstrate how lack of replication caused scientists to mistake the flu for some new virus.
The Trump administration never pretended to be interested in consensus or even agreement. Consensus was the arch enemy of the Trump administration. That really has nothing to do with anything said in this thread.
You said:
It's not even easy to know where the consensus is. We just know what the experts of the particular administration and media choose to trot out to fit their narrative.
The reason you don't know what the scientific consensus is regarding Coronavirus is the people who give you your opinion had no interest in communicating the scientific consensus, because scientific consensus contradicted that administration's agenda. You say it isn't easy to know where scientific consensus is regarding coronavirus and that's false- it is difficult for you to know but the scientific consensus is clearly that coronavirus exists and is not just the flu.
Moving the goalposts. You argued that the pandemic was fake and therefore hospitals empty and nurses idle. You may not, in the face of contradictory evidence, now argue that the pandemic was real and nurses busy. Either prove that hospitals were pretending to treat COVID patients when they were not or concede the point.Never argued in this thread the pandemic was fake.
Why would you lie about what happened on the last page?
OP:Has anyone heard about this conspiracy theory that covid 19 doesn't exist and that it is just the flu.
Wylted: The jews have faked pandemics before, the new faked one caused the entire earth to basically be shut down for a but and allowed it to heal years of polluting.
It's also possible that the pandemic is real and that the media has blown it out of proportion because fear sells.
Just more lies but again, on you to provide evidence.
CDC has not asked hospitals to stop using the standard test because of false positivesMoving the goalposts. I did not say the "standard test" I mentioned a test that was used by some facilities, and even that was just used as one example of why data collection is imperfect.
You don't understand what "moving the goalposts" means. And you still fail to support your argument. There's only one big coronavirus test standard that was recently halted. If you're talking about something else then it is probably irrelevant to your argument.

@Wylted
Added08.06.21 06:57PM-->@oromagiYou only say that because you are ignorant about the nature of the testing. Polymerase Chain Reaction tests for COVID and Flu both have excellent specificity and exclusivity- no competent health professional would mistake a COVID chain for a flu chain and almost of health professionals would have to be involved to disguise flu chains for COVIDWe don't know what we don't know.
And we do know what we do know. We know how to tell COVID from the flu.
I think scientists 20 years ago also thought that no popularly held belief among them could be wrong as well.
Nonsense. Science was in general agreement that we'd be done will fossil fuels by 2020, that cars would be self-driving and China would be the world's top superpower but there were plenty of dissenters and science never ever assumes infallibility.
I have recently seen news articles where the CDC has asked hospitals to stop using certain tests because of false positives.
Yeah but you can't tell New York Times from Russian propaganda. When you anecdotally drop that you read something somewhere, that makes that factoid far less likely to be true, right. If it were some actual fact-checked piece of journalism, you would not accept it as fact because the facts consistently disprove you. Case in point- the CDC has not asked hospitals to stop using the standard test because of false positives, the CDC has asked hospitals to stop using the standard test because they have multiplexed the test to scan for flu at the same time. Not only will science not mistake COVID for the flu, science will diagnose both diseases side by side and distinguish which type of flu as well.
Well then you would have the documentary responsibility to show massive layoffs in the healthcare industry, which would be easy to document if it weren't the 180 degree opposite of true. The truth is that the healthcare industry has been devastated by the epidemic and has been desperate for help since the pandemic began.I think we talked about this before. It's possible that different areas were effected by the pandemic differently. Rural places that canceled elective surgeries for example, struggled and responded with layoffs and hospital closures. It exposed a weakness in our for profit hospital system. As you also know rural places are often well insulated from the same type of spread as densely populated areas and also might not see the same overwhelmed hospitals, and in fact especially during the beginning of this the pandemic had opposite effects on urban as on rural hospitals. You mentioned a specific scenario. I speculated as to one possibility for why you could see those nurses racking up so much overtime.
Moving the goalposts. You argued that the pandemic was fake and therefore hospitals empty and nurses idle. You may not, in the face of contradictory evidence, now argue that the pandemic was real and nurses busy. Either prove that hospitals were pretending to treat COVID patients when they were not or concede the point.
I know you won't understand this but America is built on trusting the wisdom of consensus, not a belief that the consensus is infallible or even necessarily well-informed but that consensus must be respected as wise. I trust the scientific method and repeatable results and rely heavily on experts who follow the same methodology. It's not even easy to know where the consensus is. We just know what the experts of the particular administration and media choose to trot out to fit their narrative.
The Trump administration never pretended to be interested in consensus or even agreement. Consensus was the arch enemy of the Trump administration.
Also the scientific method is currently flawed. It has positivity bias because negative results are not reported and a large foundation of knowledge is not replicated but the original study is just taken as it is. Just look at the debates here between quality opponents. We don't see second studies to confirm a first one presented and in fact just see people arguing about methodology when their personal view disagrees with a study.
All humanity suffers from positivity bias, present company excepted. Nor is that what I'd call a particularly damning trait since negativity bias tends to be self-re-inforcing and so more distortive than a bias towards positivity.
The scientific community is not ideally using the scientific method.
That's on you to prove.
Also science is a branch of philosophy and there are better ways of determining the truth than the scientific method anyway.
I call bullshit. Up to you to prove philosophy determines more truth than science.

Role Madness refers to a type of game where most or all of the players have power roles; that is, there are few to no true Vanilla Townies. Because there are so many power roles, the veracity or effectiveness of Night Actions is very difficult to determine without knowledge of what the other players did. Role Madness games have been known to include unique roles designed by the moderator's whim as well, further increasing the potential for confusion.
Role Madness games are not to be confused with bastard mod games. In the former, the confusion stems from the sheer number of role interactions. In the latter, the confusion comes from the moderator omitting vital details about players' roles (if not lying to them outright).
Because the game hinges so much on players' Night choices and the number of possibilities to account for are so high, balancing a Role Madness game can only be rough at best. When reviewing a power-heavy game like this, the two things that must be checked for are broken combinations (i.e. if everyone claimed, could a group of players use their Night action to dominate the game? If not, could they do it after a certain player dies?) and whether any one faction can become grossly more powerful than the other(s).
The subversion of including a single Vanilla Townie in a Role Madness game has been done many times over, to the point where claiming to be a Vanilla Townie has been considered self-confirming (if not an outright Town-tell).

Hello everyone. It's SupaDudz, the really cool mafia player. I have a mafia setup that can work with 10 people but accommodates for 11 or even 12.You can choose between two option, a game with no theme split or a game with a theme split. These are two completely different themesNo Theme Split - Fast FoodTheme Split - Best AnimesSupa's Rule and Regulations
- No editing or deleting posts of any kind
- No outside communication of mafia game (private PMs, other forum chats, other members) unless designated to do so
- There will 72hr day phases and, 24hr night phases unless there is activity level that below 75-125 posts within this time frame. From there, 24hrs extensions will be given ONCE and ONCE only for the DP.
- To contact SupaDudz about anything, private message me or ping me in game
- If I mess up a vote count, please let me know asap so I can correct it. If I mess up anything within the game, please let me know. Humans are not perfect
- Follow the basic CoC rules (no doxxing, attempt to doxx, etc.)
Failing to do any of these things will result in a warn or modkillClarificationsI have no rules when it comes to calling people using foul language. I believe the freedom of speech is important to moderating a game. If someone is making attacks on you, they are just ruining their character. However, very rarely will I intervene. I will only intervene where the feud and obscenities becomes so excessive that is derails a game. You will not be modkilled for this, but a hard warn will be in place. I have a high tolerance for those feuds and have no problems with them, but don't make excessive to the point of ruining the game.

He probably just missed your post and he's right, if he missed your VTL, he can't just take my post for it and even you saying I'm right is not actionable until he finds the post. I think Supa also said this game was role madness? Just like my game where he fake claimed Bodyguard. He just doesn’t come off the same way in this game as Lunatic’s game where he was town either
Supa's FIrst Rule of Pie: Pie is inactive when scum or vanilla.
Observation: Pie is inactive
Observation: Pie is not VANiLLA. If Pie was VANiLLAa he would not suppose role madness.
Speculation: Pie might be scum
Oro's Third Rule of Pie: lol is Pie's scum tell
Observation: Pie just lol'd
Speculation: Pie might be scum
