By the time of the election, most US politicians were publicly united against TPP while most were also secretly favored some kind of anti-China trading block.

If US politicians support TPP, they should be open with their beliefs and not lie to their voters to get elected.

 When Trump tried to destroy NAFTA the following year, a whole parade of conservative economists visited the White House and finally managed to persuade Trump that NAFTA had actually been a pretty significant net gain for the US- an extra $400 billion GDP/year.  If Trump had the facts before running for President, TPP would very likely be constricting Chinese expansion today.

If Trump supports TPP now, why isn't he going out and supporting TPP which has improved the American economy? 

I hate China because of their political prisoners and I want America to exceed China's economy.  TPP, combined with a LU military and the LU uniting to be one nation can contain China and expand the influence of America.

Why did the TPP fail?  I personally like the TPP as it enabled free trade and cost very few jobs, and all of the workers for these jobs could find any of the 13 million job openings that the University of Georgetown claimed exist that pay both over $55K/year and that only require a HS degree to complete.  I fail to see how TPP is a bad idea as it allows cheaper better goods to come from foreign countries and it also allows America to export more goods to foreign countries in return.

Yes.  The harms done to babies by exposure to deadly new diseases like coronavirus far outweighs the harms done to children when Mom wears a mask during walks outside.

That age range has virtually no deaths associated with coronavirus,

while nearly every child is effected by developmental issues if every mother started wearing masks 24/7, not to mention the anxiety issues caused by mass panic.

The scientific community understands that positivity bias, not enough people attempting to replicate studies and prior plausibility are problems. I'll refer you to the episode of Adam ruins everything where he discusses lack or replication in science. Remember the part of the scientific method where experiments are supposed to be replicated? It often gets skipped over. 

Also experiments and studies with no results do not get published by their nature. Prior plausibility is more controversial some claiming it is a bias, some saying it isn't and others saying it is a necessary bias because the alternative is worse. 

The Trump administration never pretended to be interested in consensus or even agreement.  Consensus was the arch enemy of the Trump administration.

Moving the goalposts.  You argued that the pandemic was fake and therefore hospitals empty and nurses idle.  You may not, in the face of contradictory evidence, now argue that the pandemic was real and nurses busy.  Either prove that hospitals were pretending to treat COVID patients when they were not or concede the point.

Never argued in this thread the pandemic was fake.

It's also possible that the pandemic is real and that the media has blown it out of proportion because fear sells.

You only say that because you are ignorant about the nature of the testing.  Polymerase Chain Reaction tests for COVID and Flu both have excellent specificity and exclusivity- no competent health professional would mistake a COVID chain for a flu chain and almost of health professionals would have to be involved to disguise flu chains for COVID

Well then you would have the documentary responsibility to show massive layoffs in the healthcare industry, which would be easy to document if it weren't the 180 degree opposite of true.  The truth is that the healthcare industry has been devastated by the epidemic and has been desperate for help since the pandemic began.

I think we talked about this before. It's possible that different areas were effected by the pandemic differently. Rural places that canceled elective surgeries for example, struggled and responded with layoffs and hospital closures. It exposed a weakness in our for profit hospital system. As you also know rural places are often well insulated from the same type of spread as densely populated areas and also might not see the same overwhelmed hospitals, and in fact especially during the beginning of this the pandemic had opposite effects on urban as on rural hospitals. 

You mentioned a specific scenario. I speculated as to one possibility for why you could see those nurses racking up so much overtime. 

I know you won't understand this but America is built on trusting the wisdom of consensus, not a belief that the consensus is infallible or even necessarily well-informed but that consensus must be respected as wise.  I trust the scientific method and repeatable results and rely heavily on experts who follow the same methodology.

It's not even easy to know where the consensus is.  We just know what the experts of the particular administration and media choose to trot out to fit their narrative. 

Also the scientific method is currently flawed. It has positivity bias because negative results are not reported and a large foundation of knowledge is not replicated but the original study is just taken as it is. Just look at the debates here between quality opponents. We don't see second studies to confirm a first one presented and in fact just see people arguing about methodology when their personal view disagrees with a study.

Role Madness refers to a type of game where most or all of the players have power roles; that is, there are few to no true Vanilla Townies. Because there are so many power roles, the veracity or effectiveness of Night Actions is very difficult to determine without knowledge of what the other players did. Role Madness games have been known to include unique roles designed by the moderator's whim as well, further increasing the potential for confusion.

Role Madness games are not to be confused with bastard mod games. In the former, the confusion stems from the sheer number of role interactions. In the latter, the confusion comes from the moderator omitting vital details about players' roles (if not lying to them outright).

Because the game hinges so much on players' Night choices and the number of possibilities to account for are so high, balancing a Role Madness game can only be rough at best. When reviewing a power-heavy game like this, the two things that must be checked for are broken combinations (i.e. if everyone claimed, could a group of players use their Night action to dominate the game? If not, could they do it after a certain player dies?) and whether any one faction can become grossly more powerful than the other(s).

The subversion of including a single Vanilla Townie in a Role Madness game has been done many times over, to the point where claiming to be a Vanilla Townie has been considered self-confirming (if not an outright Town-tell).

If someone is making attacks on you, they are just ruining their character. However, very rarely will I intervene. I will only intervene where the feud and obscenities becomes so excessive that is derails a game. You will not be modkilled for this, but a hard warn will be in place. I have a high tolerance for those feuds and have no problems with them, but don't make excessive to the point of ruining the game.
