As China rises on the global stage, worries grow that the Asian autocracy will assert itself militarily by forcefully 'unifying' Taiwan with the mainland. My position is that radical left-wing politics is both only a recent, modern phenomena and its current iteration in the United States is not as harmful as radical left-wing movements of the 20th century; and, more importantly, it is less dangerous, long-term, than religious fundamentalism is.
