@Greyparrot
My mind is going over Grey's tracker claim.
The good thing is that it's testable. The bad thing is that it's not testable without outing power rolls (or at least who has them to be moving around at night).
Sadly I've only seen a couple random episodes of the show, so I don't know if the character fits as a tracker.

Going to bed early. No DP1 lynch doesn’t seem like the end of the world, even if it definitely shouldn’t be repeated later.

Btw, I dropped the act already, so I'll just come out with it since like 4 people already know, my cover is blown. This is Lunatic.

Or.. hear me out on this... the belters did it using stealth Martian technology!
On earth, there's just too many whistleblowers. Like 9/11 there would be at least thousands of insiders.

http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=911_morons
Plus the fact that we have defenses which would spot slow moving rocks from very far away.
Now the Belters don't have the beautoracy problem, they hate Earth, etc. I'm not sure where they would get enough money to buy the not-so-top-secret stuff from Mars, but if you rule out everything impossible, then Occam's Razor points to this.

I don't trust Speed's memory regarding mafia not making his PGO claim. That said, I don't jump to lynching for every minor inconsistency.

408 was at least pun-tastic.

The really odd thing is that I am being completely dis-regarded as useless.
In #380, I called that premature.
If you think I may be wrong, or maybe making a mountain out of a molehill with my read, that's one thing.
That pretty well sums up my opinion of a lot of the fights today. Still, I do understand that applying pressure is important to generate scum slips.

@Speedrace
It's not a common scum claim FYI. I've been playing for a while now and I don't think I've even heard of scum claiming PGO.
While not a common scum claim, you hosted my first game here when Supa did a PGO fake claim.

(moving this down here to keep it intact when edits start)
A list of them I found really notable last year (not claiming these are exclusively the best in their classes)...
Politics:
- Mandatory Voting
- ANTIFA is equivalent to the KKKA bit of a lighter offering than I remember, but still very useful for research given that this topic is so hot right now.
- Richard Nixon was the Best President of the United StatesA bit of an honorable mention due to the forfeitures, but one I still wish the debaters would come back and finish.
Society:
- Debate Art should change their “gender” option and replace it with “sex”, where only “male” or “female” are options
Religion:
- Is Jesus the Messiah?
- The Rationality of Faith 2
- God does not exist
- Is Christianity A Good Moral System To Follow?Ram at his prime getting only a tie.
Comedy:
- The US should invade Africa
- Resolved little green men visited long ago

Everyone!
Honestly, having had to threaten to ban people, I'm finding the side drama to be a bit much. If we had any willing players available, I wouldn't mind being switched out for someone else.

For instance a gigantic rail gun in space
If they're doing that from light years away to send asteroids to the earth, it would either take light years to reach the earth, or would hit the earth faster than the speed of light.

It's definitely nothing bad to not be nominated. As an example, I started a thread talking about best debates, and yet any of those with forfeited rounds I would be unlikely to vote for within the HoF.

If not VTLing, how do you propose town advance the game?
Created:

@BearMan
What it basically breaks down to is Pattern=Mafia or absolutely Useless Town. We can either VTL Pattern, or VTNL, and at this point I don't really care.
At risk of being overly nitpicky, calling him useless seems premature.

Plus people who multi-account, have impulse control problems, so will in short order engage in behavior which outs themselvesif i can pull it off without getting caught its possible rm can an hes 10 times smarter than i amthan again hes a wildcard so who knows what he'll do
R.M. Is the Kindest, Bravest, Warmest, Most Wonderful Human Being I’ve Ever Known in My Life
While there's always ways in, and RM is very smart, I doubt he would be able to keep his cool this long.
That said, the wildcard conclusion is almost certainly correct, as it's most likely someone we haven't played with.

If they were blasting asteroids near the Earth to knock them into a collision course, then I would expect they could shoot the planet directly. Even if those blasts themselves could not do the usual harm, they could knock the planet off its axis with enough of them at the right times.

@MisterChris
There's something to be said for uncut gems.
On that topic I remember one on that subject with Virt and I ended up trying to make sense of it by calculating the population numbers they were talking about... I am not sure what possessed me to do that much work, I think it was something about how fundamental it became to the debates, but it kept shifting inside the debate.

@Lemming
I mean with no technology ever shown being used, easy to view them as something easy to take advantage of, as little threat on a galactic scale.
Them launching asteroids at the Earth, from light years away, was just too much. I mean maybe they could aim as an asteroid already close to the Earth and nudge it, but if doing that, why not just target the Earth directly?

Notice:
Sorry to have to do this, but I just had a resumption of this issue repeat itself... As I said before:
I think pattern is rm tbhSpeaking as a moderator rather than a player: There are no credential matches. With that in mind, we really should give him or her the benefit of doubt. ... Plus people who multi-account, have impulse control problems, so will in short order engage in behavior which outs themselves; we don't need to worry about it in the meantime.
So everyone, please drop it! I would prefer if we're able to finish this game, without anyone having to be replaced due to an unscheduled time out from the site.

Out of curiosity, why did you remove the link to your hint?
I'm pretty sure it's every game you point back to that to prove that you encoded information into it.
Also next update should probably change User's link to https://naruto.fandom.com/wiki/Sakura_Haruno
I'm never sure if wiki pages or the original claim are more useful, but either way it's probably best to be consistent.

Created:

So with people looking at old debates for the HoF, this seems like a good time to compile a larger must read list for different categories and subjects.
This would ideally serve to help people researching whatever topics in future. They would not exclusively need to be HoF worthy.
Of course there are broad categories, but also sub-categories therein (which can be expanded out as the list grows).
Depending on the size of the list, the format will probably change.

I liked that the recruiter guy was missing both of his legs.
It's a neat detail they allude to in the movie, that is highlighted in the book. As a society they play up stuff like that to make people second-guess joining and becoming citizens, when in fact recruiters like that have amazing cybernetics they wear whenever not serving in that role.

I don't disbelieve Speed's claim, it just brought back a fond WTF memories of this game.
And yes, Supa eventually got lynched. I can't remember if it was from deduction over his fake PGO claim or not. He was scum, as evidenced by him going out and killing people in the night.
Created:
Posted in:
It might have been in the first game I played here: Supadudz claimed PGO, then when someone (mailman maybe?) survived visiting him he ranted something about how his role PM stated it was a special PGO variant which would not kill that, proceed to NK the person who had visited the previous night, and still did not get lynched the the next day.

Speaking as a player: I don't trust noob claims (probably due to the memory of "singularity"). Also even if he or she is sincerely new, it does not mean they are bad at social deduction games. Still, cut them a little slack as a new player (hell, I still depend on Oro's dashboards to keep track of things).

Regarding campaigning: please don't be a nuisance with it, and certainly not a menace like Spider-Man.
That said, this is a celebration. Have fun. Don't worry about if talking about the best debates could be seen as trying to manipulate votes to be in favor of those.
