Anew solution for America'sempty churches:A change of faith
Published14th January 2020

CNN is showcasing the work of TheConversation, a collaboration between journalists and academics toprovide news analysis and commentary.
Overthe past few decades, vacant and underutilized churches havebecome a familiar sight in American cities.
Insome cases, a congregation or a religious governing body -- say, aCatholic diocese -- will sell the church to developers, who then turn them into apartments, offices, artgalleriesmuseumsbreweries or performancespaces.
Butwhat about churches in neighborhoods that aren't doing well, areasthat are less attractive to developers looking to turn a profit?
InBuffalo, New York, twoempty Roman Catholic churches wererecently converted --not into apartments or offices, but into other places of worship. Onebecame an Islamic mosque, theother a Buddhist temple.

But severalformer Christian churches in Buffalo's East Side also now serve assites of worship for other religions. Two mosques, BaitUl Mamur Inc. Masjid and Masjid Zakariya, used to be SaintJoachim's Roman Catholic Church and HolyMother of Rosary Polish National Catholic Church, respectively.

Hownature's ancient technologies can inform today's cities
Andtwo other formerly vacant churches that the Catholic diocese wasstruggling to sell were eventually sold. One, Queenof Peace Roman Catholic Churchwasconverted into a mosque, Jami Masjid.

WallStreet Journal: “Europe’sempty churches go on sale”

NaftaliBendavid of the Wall Street Journal has devoted a long article aboutthe plight of religious heritage buildings in Europe. He has spokento FRH council member Lilian Grootswagers as part of his research.Headlined “Hundreds of Churches Have Closed or Are Threatened byPlunging Membership, Posing Question: What to Do With UnusedBuildings?” The article focuses on churches.

Theformer Roman Catholic Church of St. Joseph inArnhem, Netherlands, one of hundreds of decommissionedchurches, was turned into a skate park. Merlijn Doomernik for theWall Street Journal.  [I suppose a skate park is better than amosque.]

(…) Hundredsof churches, closed or threatened by plunging membership, posea question for communities, and even governments, across WesternEurope: What to do with once-holy, now-empty buildings thatincreasingly mark the countryside from Britain to Denmark?
Bendaviddiscusses some of the (controversial) re-uses found for thesebuildings
Unusedchurches are now a big enough problem to attract the attention ofgovernments as well. The Netherlands, along with religious and civicgroups, has adopted a national “agenda” for preserving thebuildings. The Dutch province of Friesland—where 250 of 720existing churches have been closed or transformed—fields a “Deltateam” to find solutions.
“Everychurch is a debate,” says Albert Reinstra, a church expert atHolland’s Cultural Heritage Agency. “When they are empty, what dowe do with it?” Preservationists say there often isn’t the moneyneeded to create new community-oriented uses for the buildings.

America’sEpidemic of Empty Churches

Aman walks inside an empty church in the Ninth Ward area in NewOrleans CARLOS BARRIA / REUTERS
Threeblocks from my Brooklyn apartment, a large brick structure stretchestoward heaven. Tourists recognize it as a church—the building’sbell tower and stained-glass windows give it away—but worshippershaven’t gathered here in years.

The19th-century building was once known as St. Vincent De Paul Churchand housed a vibrant congregation for more than a century. Butattendance dwindled and coffers ran dry by the early 2000s. Rainleaked through holes left by missing shingles, a tree sprouted in thebell tower, and the Brooklyn diocese decided to sell the building todevelopers. Today, the Spire Lofts boasts 40 luxury apartments, withone-bedroom units renting for as much as $4,812per month. It takes serious cash to make God’s house your own, apparently.

Manyof our nation’s churches can no longer afford to maintain theirstructures—6,000to 10,000 churches die each year inAmerica—and that number will likely grow. Though more than 70percent of our citizens still claim to be Christian, congregationalparticipation is less central to many Americans’ faith than it oncewas. Most denominations are declining asa share of the overall population, and donations to congregationshave been falling fordecades. Meanwhile, religiously unaffiliated Americans, nicknamed the“nones,” are growing asa share of the U.S. population.

Closureof Catholic and Protestant churches in Germany

Thenumber of people leaving the church is far higher than thosejoiningit. The number of people resigning from the church reached ahigh pointin 1992 after German unification, when 361,256 people cededtheirmembership of the Protestant church and 1 92,766 quit theCatholicchurch. on top of this, since the mid-1970s, morechurch members areburied than baptised.

Declineof Christianity in various countries

The declineof Christianity isan ongoing trend in West and North Europe.[1] Developedcountries withmodern, secular educationalfacilities in the post-WorldWar II erahave shifted towards post-Christian,secular, globalizedmulticultural and multifaith societies. Infantbaptism hasdeclined in many nations, with thousands of churches closing ormerging due to lack of attendees. There is also evidence of declinein NorthAmerica (especiallyin Canada) and in Australia.Despite the decline, Christianity remainsthe dominant religion in the Westernworld, where 70% of the population is Christian.[2] Inaddition, according to a 2012 PewResearch Center survey, within the next four decades, Christianity will remain the world'slargest religion.[3] Thisis due to the bithrate of Christians and due toChristian evangelism (Christianshave 2.7 children per woman, which is above the replacement level of2.1 children per woman).[4]

Yet you cannot say for how much longer or show any evidence that Christianity's global numbers are declining.
I have done so many times on this thread. But you are more interested in burying the questions I have asked that you cannot answer.
But hear AGAIN is my evidence for the decline in Christian numbers that prove Christianity is fading as their numbers alarmingly "dwindle" just has you say Jesus said they would but haven't proved that claim either. Christians numbers are falling  fast and are giving way to Islam willingly. ON EVERY CONTINENT"

"Onecountry, two religions and three very telling pictures: The emptypews at churches just yards from an overcrowded mosque".

  • Two photos show Sunday morning services in churches in East London
  • The third shows worshippers gathered for Friday midday prayers outside a nearby mosque
  • The difference in numbers could hardly be more dramatic.

Christianchurches fall empty and become dilapidated daily  or are soldoff or simply abandoned.

ChristeningsDown BBC 2013

Althoughchristenings were already in decline, one in three infants was stillbaptised into the Church of England in 1980. By 2011 that had fallento just over one in 10. The overall number of baptisms - of people ofall ages - witnessed a similar decline, from 266,000 in 1980 to140,000 in 2011.
It'sa similar story in the Catholic Church, although the major drop-offin baptisms happened between 1964 and 1977, when the number halved. There's been a far gentler downward trend over the past threedecades, recently stabilising at about 60,000 baptisms a year.

---------------------------------------------

Iknow you cannot work much out without pictures or animation so trythis graph.

Iwill explain those pretty coloured lines for you shall I.

Theabove statistic in the link  shows the number of baptismsperformed by the Church of England from 2009 to 2017. During thisperiod the number of baptisms has declined from 135 thousand in 2009to just under 93 thousand by 2017.

"Declinein baptisms, marriages seen as harbinger".

Thereception of the sacraments of baptism and marriage have declineddramatically in the archdiocese since 1961, according to statisticsfrom the archdiocesan Office for Parish Service and Support.
Whilethe Mass attendance figures were culled from the October count censusperformed every year since 1990, the figures on baptism and marriagestretch back much further. Together they present a long-term trendline that can be a valuable milestone to planning for the parish andinstitutional needs of the church in coming years.

"Thedata show there were 37,855 infant baptisms in 1961 in the 310parishes of the archdiocese in that year. In 2018, the latest yearavailable, 7,937 babies were baptized in 214 parishes — a 79%decline in the sacrament".

Declinein baptisms leads Quebec church to rethink children’s spirituality

Datacompiled by the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Quebec shows thenumber of baptisms declined from 42,213 (of 88,933 births) in 2012 to30,394 (of 83,900 births) in 2017. The figures represent a 28 percentdecline in five years.

Crisis offaith
Everyten years the census spells out the situation in detail: between 2001and 2011 the number of Christians born in Britain fell by 5.3million — about 10,000 a week. If that rate of declinecontinues, the mission of St Augustine to the English, together withthat of the Irish saints to the Scots, will come to an end in 2067.

Censusfigures reveal a ‘startling’ shift in Britain’s demographictrend with almost a tenth of babies and toddlers born in England andWales being Muslim.
Thepercentage of Muslims among the under-fives is almost twice as highas in the general population. Less than one in 200 over 85s areMuslims – an indication of the extent to which birth rate ischanging the UK’s religious demographic.

Belgium'sdwindling churches to be converted into mosques

Churchesin Belgium are to be turned into mosques as Christiancongregations decline while Muslims demand more places to worship.2008
PhilipHeylen, Antwerp's deputy mayor, has called on the city to "breakthe taboo" over the many empty and unused churches.
"It'sa looming issue yet it seems impossible to have a debate about this,"he said. "Churches were built as places of worship and theyshould not be used as shopping malls. We've had a positiveresponse from members of the Muslim community, which is open to theidea of converting them."
Antwerphas 36 mosques but many are located in old buildings that are toosmall or lack emergency exits. Meanwhile, the building of new mosquesis sensitive in terms of planning.
Manyof Antwerp's 80 churches were built in the mid-19th century duringattempts by the Roman Catholic Church to engineer a religiousrevival.

FatherJan, at the Sint-Willibrordus Church, conceded that the pewsare "far emptier than 50 years ago".

@ethang5
No. It makes those CHRISTIANS who made these predictions wrong. And goes nowhere in proving the bible right.
It was the bible correctly saying they would be wrong homer. Think about it a little, I promise, it won't hurt.

But you haven't shown us where in the bible it actually says so , have you you idiot!   Support your claim. You are confident "the bible says so" so simply put up the chapters and verse which confirms what you claim.

The bible itself foretells that many will try to predict it. So they have been wrong, just as the bible said.

Then let us see those verses where Jesus in the bible "foretells" of the many that will try predicting his return".

Who the hell are you to say who  is or isn't Christian!?
Nobody. But the word Christian has a meaning. That meaning is defined by the bible, and that meaning isn't flexible.

What is that meaning?  And why does it  - ACCORDING TO ONLY YOU - disqualify over 8 million Jehovah's witnesses from being Christians and also disqualify over 15 million Mormons from Christians? keeping in mind that is is only YOU  that has  made it more than clear on a few threads now that neither of these religious groups are Christian.

And do you realise that you have just wiped away 8 + million Christians from the Christian congregation with that stupid statement.
You asked me a question homer. Answers you like are not the only correct ones. Only God can add or remove a person from the congregation of Christians.

So then why are you taking it up on yourself to disqualify these groups as Christians? It was ONLY you who have told the forum that neither Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses are christian here>>>>>

Jehovah Witnesses getting in on the failed prediction bullshite act has it. They are Christians,  aren't they? They are Christians aren't they?
Err. No. But even if they were, it would still not be the bible (Christianity).#14

AND HERE>>

..the rapid decline of Christians isn't helped any by you claiming that 8 +million Jehovah Witnesses are not Christians , either.
Lol. Neither are Mormons, #48

Blame the bible!!! for what?
For the failed predictions of the people whom the bible said would fail at predicting.

Show me where I have blamed the bible for these failed predictions.  And while you are at it,  show us where the bible or Jesus states that Christians of the future or anyone else will  try to predict his return but fail?

You just cannot get it through your own dense pile that because those CHRISTIANS failed to predict the second coming, does not and cannot mean that the bible is correct.
Even if the bible said they would fail at those predictions?

AGAIN!!!! Show us the chapter and verses where it states that. Or stop with your lies.

NO ONE can know the time of the 2nd coming,

I got that. It is the point of the thread, stupid.

therefore no one can predict it.

I got that. It is the whole  point of the thread,.

But we know it's not time yet because the bible did say the second coming would not occur till certain things had happened. Not all of them have happened, so the second coming is not yet.

Would you like a quarter to purchase a clue?

No need.  I have read the bible.  Mathew in particular.  This thread is concerned with Christians  and their continual failed predictions concerning Jesus' return on a cloud.

I haven't mentioned any day. That was you AGAIN.
Lol! No day needs be mentioned Einstein. Church services are Sundays.

And every morning twice a morning too according to you. So let us see you evidence that 5,000 people attend these services "every morning , twice a morning". Or you could simply stop digging a great big fkn hole for yourself and stop telling obvious lies. It was you who made this claim wasn't it:>

ethang5  Added 07.12.20 01:54PM
I can show you regular church services of 5,000 people, and they have 2 services every morning.#13

So lets see it then.

So now is all you have to do is show us, as you claim that  you can show me the "many church services" where up to "5,000 people every morning and twice a morning and not just Sundays but  regularly"
Sure I can, but it is irrelevant to my argument,

But this is my argument on my thread created specially to argue that Christian numbers are "dwindling at an alarming rate" as evidenced by church leaders themselves. The claim here is that Christianity won't be #1 for too much longer. You disagree and then simply spout words without a single piece of supporting evidence. Your full of shite. You said you could "show me", and now you are refusing to "show me".

They claim the number of Christians [ in their community ] is declining worryingly fast.
Corrected for stupidity.

No.  In their respective COUNTRIES. Attempting to water down the facts won't change the facts.   Would you like me to post up all evidence AGAIN for you?

Prove that the  Christian gains outweigh the decline of practising Christians?
As soon as you prove your claim that Christian declines outweigh the growth of Christian converts. Got any evidence?

So even after I rephrase my question to accommodate you . You still decline to support your own fkn claims. I have given you all the evidence from all the countries that have reported a decline in  members and Christenings. Churches falling into ruin or being sold off to Muslims. Churches being burned to the ground and no one in saying too much about it, even the church leaders are staying silent on the mater. There have been almost 1000 churches burned to the ground in France . The most recent attack on a christian churches and cathedrals was just days ago:

Nantes: Arson suspected in fire at Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul cathedral.

They still suspect arson for the fire at that beautiful Christian Cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris just over a year ago. But the silnce is deafening and they certainly do not seem to be in any hurry to solve the case of "suspected arson". Statues Of the Virgin and Jesus are being beheaded in the USA and the church leaders are so silent on thematter its deafening. they are about as silent as you have been on the matter come to that.

A christian remains a Christian inside or outside of a church loser.

According to who?

The bible. The only authority.

Post up your evidence for that ridiculous claim or STOP TELLING LIES!!!!

What about an apostate?
The apostate remains an apostate inside or outside of a church too loser.

Do you actually now what an apostate is. It is  a person who renounces a religious or political belief or principle or allies with another faith.

So are you saying that although a once christian person  renounces his religion for another religion or renounces their religion altogether they will still remain Christian. Is that what you are actually claiming here?

They are statistics from the church leaders from around the world themselves.
They are local statistics goober,

These are church leaders airing their concerns about the dwindling numbers of Christians IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES you idiot. You just cannot face the facts that your numbers are dwindling,  and with your help too. it was you who have informed us all reading here that - `Jehovah witnesses are not Christians' thereby ridding Christianity of over 8 million of its members. :

Jehovah Witnesses getting in on the failed prediction bullshite act has it. They are Christians,  aren't they? They are Christians aren't they?
Err. No. But even if they were, it would still not be the bible (Christianity).#14

Nice one Einstein. It is always your own lies that bring you down to earth and make you look absolutely stupid.

..the rapid decline of Christians isn't helped any by you claiming that 8 +million Jehovah Witnesses are not Christians , either.
Lol. Neither are Mormons,

That's another 15 million Christians wiped of the books. MY!  you are good at rejecting those that say they are Christians and want to be Christians. Is it any wonder that your church and its members are in a steep decline , with your help.

So more outrageous claims without a single piece of supporting evidence.

Decline of Christianity in various countries

The decline of Christianity is an ongoing trend in West and North Europe.[1] Developed countries with modern, secular educational facilities in the post-World War II era have shifted towards post-Christian, secular, globalizedmulticultural and multifaith societies. Infant baptism has declined in many nations, with thousands of churches closing or merging due to lack of attendees. There is also evidence of decline in North America (especially in Canada) and in Australia. Despite the decline, Christianity remains the dominant religion in the Western world, where 70% of the population is Christian.[2] In addition, according to a 2012 Pew Research Center survey, within the next four decades, Christianity will remain the world's largest religion.[3] This is due to the bithrate of Christians and due to Christian evangelism (Christians have 2.7 children per woman, which is above the replacement level of 2.1 children per woman).[4]

It wasn't me who claimed that you could show me  "regular church services of 5,000 people, and they have 2 services every morning.#13". And then contradicted myself by saying "Sunday morning only". NO! That was YOU!!!! here >>> #36
You were the idiot who thought "church service" meant Mondays.

Many churches have services twice every morning.
I haven't mentioned any day. That was you AGAIN. First you said "everyday", and then "Sundays" only. #37  So now you are again changing your  second claim for a brand new 3rd claim.  1st you claimed " I can show you regular church services of 5,000 people, and they have 2 services every morning". #13. I challenged you on this:

I can show you regular church services of 5,000 people, and they have 2 services every morning.#13
regular".  " two services every morning" eh.  What do these dossers do for employment. Pray all  morning?

On Sunday mornings yes. I told you, your tiny little bubble is not the world.#37

So we now get to your new claim:

Many churches have services twice every morning.
They probably do, but this doesn't anyway go to supporting your original claim that you have been trying to get out of since you made it. Or have you forgotten it already?  Don't accuse me of spamming when you force me to remind you of things that YOU have wrote in the past on this thread. Here it is AGAIN :

I can show you regular church services of 5,000 people, and they have 2 services every morning.#13
So now is all you have to do is show us, as you claim that  you can show me the "many church services" where up to "5,000 people every morning and twice a morning and not just Sundays but  regularly" Off you go.

I am as correct as are those church leaders claim to be.
They do not claim Christianity as a whole is declining, they claim their churches are declining.

They claim the number of Christians is declining worryingly fast.#28.

But YOU,  after all your repeated claims of Christian membership increasing haven't shown us a single fact that proves your claim.
You already conceded that Christianity is #1 idiot.

I have  agreed.  But I haven't agreed that Christians are growing in numbers, this is my argument. And you contend this without a single dot of evidence. you keep claiming ;

The total number of Christians worldwide is increasing, no matter what your illogical bias tells you.#27
Simply prove it.

I did and do agree that Chrsitianinty IS the#1 ideology /religion,...
By far.

Not for too much longer .Christian church leaders are attesting to this themselves. These are not my testimonies#28.

This is your claim>>>

The total number of Christians worldwide is increasing, no matter what your illogical bias tells you.#27

NOW PROVE IT!!! Prove that the practising Christian gains outweigh the decline of practising Christians.

Lol. The loser, having googled my claim and found that it was correct, now dishonestly tries to move the goal posts to "practising" Christian.

Not at all.  But I shall rephrase my original question if it makes you feel better. Prove that the  Christian gains outweigh the decline of practising Christians?

Lol. A christian remains a Christian inside or outside of a church loser.
According to who? What about an apostate? Where is you evidence for that ridiculous claim? Or is this just more lying shite made up on the hoof?

Christenings -  therefore Christians -  are in decline as shown by churches all over Europe, Britain, North America and Australia.

A lot of the people leaving the dead corrupt churches like catholics and the C of E are moving  to protestant churches or simply not attending but remaining Christian.
Prove it!  I am getting sick of you just claiming any old shite without offering a single piece of supporting evidence. The C of E is a protestant church you idiot!

Again, I need not prove anything you haven't established. You've shown that some church attendance is declining in western secular countries, not that Christians are declining worldwide.

More denial in the face of all the evidence give by Christian church leaders. I keep telling you., those are not my testimonies to the decline in Christian numbers. They are statistics from the church themselves.

The total number of Christians worldwide is increasing,

Prove it!

I don't have to.
Yes you do.

And the rapid decline of Christians isn't helped any by you claiming that 8 +million   Jehovah Witnesses are not Christians , either.#14

I didn't. I dismissed it as Google mining pretending to be scholarship. It's silly.

What does the  Milvian Bridge or the  Roman Emperor Constantine have to do with say the African countries of Liberia or Ghana being majority Christian?
Your question was about WHY Christianity has survived. I have told you why.

So it has EVERYTHING to do with just about every thing. If it were not for Constantine's desperate and  convenient "vision"  and making it the state religion, Christianity would be long forgotten.

So the Great Egyptian pyramids were all "influenced" by Christianity? I see.  What about the Neo-Sumerian ziggurat of Iraq?  Or what about Göbekli Tepe in Turkey?
This is not to mention the hundreds of cities and structures of  South America, China and  India? And  that ALL came before a single Christian landed on the planet!

The Bible itself says no one knows the time, and that anyone saying he knows should be dismissed. So doesn't that just make the Bible correct?

No. It makes those CHRISTIANS who made these predictions wrong. And goes nowhere in proving the bible right.

For you and the bible to be right as in what you are  claiming, you have to show us when and where in the New Testament that Jesus tells of Christians or anyone else,in the future, predicting his return. You haven't done this. it is just another one of your easily lies.

It does but it hasn't stopped the likes of Jehovah Witnesses getting in on the failed prediction bullshite act has it.
The bible itself foretells that many will try to predict it. So they have been wrong, just as the bible said.

Ok. Then let us see those verses where Jesus in the bible "foretells" of the many that will try predicting his return".

Jehovah Witnesses getting in on the failed prediction bullshite act has it. They are Christians,  aren't they? They are Christians aren't they?
Err. No. But even if they were, it would still not be the bible (Christianity).

So here you are AGAIN denying the cold hard  facts. Who the hell are you to say who  is or isn't Christian!?  And do you realise that you have just wiped away 8 + million Christians from the Christian congregation with that stupid statement. That will be the same Christian congregation that you are adamant is growing!!  My,  is it any wonder that Christians are on the decline and the churches closing down all over the globe .#35 #37

I also wrote "and others"...
So what do the failed predictions of "others" have to do with Christianity?

About the same as Pope Sylvester II, Christian Bishop the Roman Catholic Church. He got it wrong too.

Right about what? The bible hasn't been proven right at all, you idiot. Those predictions made by MANY CHRISTIANS, have failed to materialise and the people who made those predictions were wrong.
Just as the bible said they would be.

Yes you have suggested this twice now so lets have the chapter and verse/s where the Christ foretells that people in the future will predict his return and get it wrong every time. so again;  Where in the New Testament does Jesus tell of Christians or anyone else in the future, predicting his return and would be wrong. ?

Predictions and claims for the Second Coming of Christ
The only predictions and claims I'm interested in are the ones made by the bible.
Yes we all know that. It is just that you said:........
ethang5 Wrote: None of the "predictions" you listed were made by Christianity or even Christians.#4

.......and I have shown you AGAIN to be totally wrong AGAIN.   This then causes you to make false claims about the bible and Jesus and lie about about the content of those links that show you to be absolutely averse, not to mention ignorant, to the facts.

The bible says no one knows. Yet here you are trying to blame the same bible

Blame the bible!!! for what?  You just cannot get it through your own dense pile that because those CHRISTIANS failed to predict the second coming, does not and cannot mean that the bible is correct.  So for the THIRD time,  let us see those verses where the bible "foretells of the many that will try" to predict his return .

Where in the New Testament does Jesus tell of Christians or anyone else, in the future, predicting his return. You haven't done this.

Why Is Christianity #1?

you must have ignored this Einstein

Here is a simplified  animated cartoon explaining for the really really dumb and ignorant theists of  how the battle of Milvian Bridge changed the world and furthered the cause of Christianity.

Milvian Bridge 312 - Rise of Christianity DOCUMENTARY starts at 1:30

if  Roman Emperor Constantine hadn't pretended to have had  a vision that helped him to re-enforce his "numerically inferior army "with thousands of his new found friends called Christians. He had been crucifying them up until the day before his "vision".  It is interesting that Constantine didn't convert to Catholicism until he was on his death bed some 15 years after his supposed "vision".

The Bible itself says no one knows the time, and that anyone saying he knows should be dismissed. So doesn't that just make the Bible correct?
It does but it hasn't stopped the likes of Jehovah Witnesses getting in on the failed prediction bullshite act has it. They are Christians,  aren't they?

None of the "predictions" you listed were made by Christianity or even Christians. Jane Dixon? Really?

I also wrote "and others" , . this is not to mention that Sextus Julius Africanus who I have mentioned was a Christian  historian as was  Irenaeus who was brought up in a Christian. I also mentioned St Beatus of Liébana he was a christian  , theologian and geographer. Hippolytus of Rome  was one of the most important second-third century Christian theologians.

There were others that I didn't mention such as Pope Sylvester II  predicted Jan 1000, John Wesley predicted 1836, Catholic Apostolic Church predicted 1901 and the very famous Jehovah's Witnesses who predicted 1914.  ALL ARE  Christians .  They too must have , just like you, failed to read and understand the bible too.

Perhaps you aren't aware that no one is supposed to know. Or are you just greatly impressed that the Bible has been proven right repeatedly?

Right about what? The bible hasn't been proven right at all, you idiot. Those predictions made by MANY CHRISTIANS, have failed to materialise and the people who made those predictions were wrong. Their miserable failures do not make the bible right about anything.   Or are you saying that the Christ Jesus the Jew, King of the Jews and Jewish Rabbi has "returned"  and even you don't know about it?

Here . I know you like Wikipedia... but only when it suites you. So read how silly and bible ignorant Christians are for yourself.

So then it is not EVERY morning is it.
Christian services are only on Sundays loser. Even 5 year olds know that.

It wasn't me who claimed that you could show me  "regular church services of 5,000 people, and they have 2 services every morning.#13". And then contradicted myself by saying "Sunday morning only". NO! That was YOU!!!! here >>> #36

But Muslims do pray three times a day every day.
Does that increase their number? Lol!

I doubt praying increases their numbers but their birth  rate certainly does. Muslims out-reed Christians 14 to 1. Or didn't you read the Pew research figures I  posted above. Of course you didn't, the facts of the matter scare you rigid.

Which in turn would makes these churches right and you totally  wrong.
You are right about the churches, not right about Christianity.
I am as correct as are those church leaders claim to be.  They have written about their deep concern for the " dwindling numbers of Christening and and service attendance" that they find them "startling" and "worrying". Although some people seem quite happy, elated even,  with the situation. I mean , who is going to turn their noses up at a once beautiful Christian church going cheap?  Certainly not these people >>  "We've had a positive response from members of the Muslim community, which is open to the idea of converting them." #35  https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/belgium/2095688/Belgiums-dwindling-churches-to-be-converted-into-mosques.html

But YOU,  after all your repeated claims of Christian membership increasing haven't shown us a single fact that proves your claim.
You already conceded that Christianity is #1 idiot.

I did and do agree that Chrsitianinty IS the#1 ideology /religion, but not for much longer, you idiot . But YOU have ALSO claimed that Christian numbers are on the increase. It is that claim I want you to prove. This is your claim>>>

The total number of Christians worldwide is increasing, no matter what your illogical bias tells you.#27
NOW PROVE IT!!! Prove that the practising Christian gains outweigh the decline of practising Christians.  You have not offered a single piece of evidence for any  your lying claims.

You will be mumbling into a carpet three times a day and ever day when Islam takes over, petal.
What's the name of the mayor of your capital city loser?
I have already addressed that question above so don't accuse me of "spamming " when I answer it again. here you go>>> #37

StephenThat is  Exactly my point stupid. He's a Muslim as are many "British"  MP's voted into power by  other Muslims with large populations of Muslims in our towns and cities in a country that had only a handful of Mosques just 25 years ago that now has over 1,600 with as many prayer houses and Islamic shariah courts.  My once Christian country, England and many countries in Europe are slowly being eroded and transformed into a middle eastern   Caliphates as will the USA be unless there some serious push back from the Christian church.

Exactly my point stupid. He's a Muslim as are many "British"  MP's voted into power by  other Muslims with large populations of Muslims in our towns and cities in a country that had only a handful of Mosques just 25 years ago
Then it's you who will shortly be mumbling into a carpet three times a day and ever day, hmmm idiot?

Maybe. I just hope not. But the difference between you and I stupid is that I can see where all this is leading, whereas you are desperately trying to cling onto that old time religion. I don't know how old you are but if you are in your mid thirties or younger, it is most certainly you and your generations that that will be bending the knees to Islam. I will be long gone by then petal.

The total number of Christians worldwide is increasing, no matter what your illogical bias tells you.#27

Prove it!

I don't have to.

Yes you do. . Or simply retract your unsupported outrageous claim that goes against all the evidence from ALL of Europe, Britain, the United States, Canada, and Australia who ALL attest to "dwindling numbers of Christenings and church attendances".  Your numbers are dwindling sunshine and the Christian churches are admitting it themselves. Those are not my testimonies at post #28. NO, they are the concerned and worrying testimonies from CHRISTIAN church leaders. Suck it it petal. You and the Christian church is in a very steep nose dive of a decline.

AND you still haven't supported this bull shite either>> :

ethang5 wrote ; Jesus told us that the number of Christians would dwindle to almost nothing before He returned.#8
Prove it!  So simply give us the chapter and verse showing where the  Jew Jesus Christ, King of the Jews and Jewish rabbi that preached to other Jews told "us" about the "dwindling numbers of Christians" before his return.

You say at post #13

This thread ties in nicely with another thread that  I have created to do with the diminishing of Christianity and what has been argued on that thread here #1
Quite so.

The point I was making is that on the thread mentioned above , a claim -second from last line down at post  #8 - is also made about the return of Jesus, and what can only be described as a 'sign'/prediction, of his return.

One would have thought that predictions concerning the return of Jesus was a bad idea in the 21st century, but prophecy, even shite one's,  would be better left in the past, but it appears that Christians are just gluttons for failure.

Would I be a prophet if I were to predict that all of those future predictions will also fail to come to fruition? We are 7 months in to 2020 and I believe that Jean Dixon's prophecy that  Armageddon would take place in 2020 and Jesus would return to defeat the unholy Trinity will fall flat on its face along with the hundreds of other prophecies of the "return".

National Association of Police Organizations endorses Trump and dump 'Sleepy'
The National Association of Police Organizations has endorsed President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, citing his 'steadfast' support for law enforcement in a climate of anti-police protests.
NAPO President Michael McHale announced the endorsement in a public letter to Trump on Wednesday, after leaders of the group met with the president on Monday.

"We particularly value your directing the Attorney General to aggressively prosecute those who attack our officers,' the union wrote.

It was always going to happen for Trump. He has supported the Police from day one.

This thread ties in nicely with another thread that  I have created to do with the diminishing of Christianity and what has been argued on that thread here #1

The times Christians and others have predicted the "second coming" and been left with egg on their faces is absolutely mind numbing.

Hippolytus of Rome along with Sextus Julius Africanus & Irenaeus appear to be the first recorded prediction   which a date of the year 500 was predicted.  This prediction was based one nothing else but the measurements of Noah's Ark.  This turned out to be a no show.

Then came Beatus of Liébana who was adamant that the "return" of Jesus would happen in the month of  April in the year 793. And threw in the "end of the world" would also happen.

Then there was another 12 failed predictions that took us up to the early 1800's and in that stretch of time there were 9! failed predictions for the second coming of the Christ.

Now, predictions stretched into the  1900's with  Catholic Apostolic Church .  This church,  claimed that Jesus would return by the time the last of its 12 founding members died. The last member died in 1901...... when , not unsurprisingly there was no appearance of Jesus.

And there was some 15 predictions   for the coming of the Christ Jesus for the years 1900 and 2000. And they  too came and went.  that's 15 more no shows.

Then another 9 more failed predictions including the return of Christ in   September 2011 - 20012 and 2013.

This  takes us up nicely to our time where - in our time  more predictions for the second coming have been made.

2020
Jeane Dixon
The alleged psychic claimed that Armageddon would take place in 2020 and Jesus would return to defeat the unholy Trinity of the AntichristSatan and the False prophet between 2020 and 2037.[37]
2021
F. Kenton "Doc" Beshore
Beshore bases his prediction on the prior suggestion that Jesus could return in 1988, i.e., within one Biblical generation (40 years) of the founding of Israel in 1948. Beshore argues that the prediction was correct, but that the definition of a Biblical generation was incorrect and was actually 70–80 years, placing the Second Coming of Jesus between 2018 and 2028 and the Rapture by 2021 at the latest.[38]
2024
Unsealed World News
A number of Christians believe that the Revelation 12 Sign (as popularised by the site Unsealed.org) marks the year of the Rapture, and that after a seven-year tribulation period the Second Coming of Jesus would occur. This seven-year span would also be marked by the 2017 Great American Eclipse and the subsequent 2024 American Eclipse.
2025
Alice A. Bailey
In January 1946, the New Age Theosophical guru prophesied that Christ would return "sometime after AD 2025":530 (Theosophists identify "Christ" as being identical to a being they call Maitreya) to inaugurate the Age of Aquarius; thus, this event will be, according to Bailey, the New Age equivalent of the Christian concept of the Second Coming).Alice A. Bailey stated that St. Germain is the manager of the executive council of the Christ (Like C.W. Leadbeater, Alice A. Bailey refers to St. Germain as the Master Rakoczi or the Master R. in her books);:508 thus, according to Alice A. Bailey, St. Germain's primary task is to prepare the way for the Second Coming.
2029
Jakob Lorber
Austrian musician who wrote during 24 years a vast number of works later called the New Revelation, claimed to be received through an inner voice which belonged to Jesus Christ, offered many detailed prophecies concerning the unfolding of the Second Coming, pointing to a time before the passing of 2,000 years after the death of Christ on the cross (note that most scholars assume a date of birth of Jesus between 6 BC and 4 BC).
By 2057
Frank J. Tipler
In 1994, the physicist Frank J. Tipler published a book called The Physics of Immortality, in which he claimed to scientifically prove the existence of God as a consequence of what he calls the Omega Point Theory. In 2007, he published a sequel to The Physics of Immortality called The Physics of Christianity, which applies the principles of the Omega Point Theory to the Christian religion. In this 2007 book, he asserts in the first chapter that the Second Coming of Christ will occur within 50 years, i.e., by 2057, and will be coincident with what futurist Ray Kurzweil calls the Singularity (which Kurzweil himself predicts will occur by 2045).

I don't care how much you want to deny the evidence shown above at post ##35 , it is evidence of a decline in Christians and their places of worship , so you deny away petal , it won't stop the decline OR the takeover by Islam.

 >>>>>>Belgium's dwindling churches to be converted into mosques

Churches in Belgium are to be turned into mosques as Christian congregations decline while Muslims demand more places to worship. 2008
Philip Heylen, Antwerp's deputy mayor, has called on the city to "break the taboo" over the many empty and unused churches.
"It's a looming issue yet it seems impossible to have a debate about this," he said. "Churches were built as places of worship and they should not be used as shopping malls. We've had a positive response from members of the Muslim community, which is open to the idea of converting them."
Antwerp has 36 mosques but many are located in old buildings that are too small or lack emergency exits. Meanwhile, the building of new mosques is sensitive in terms of planning.
Many of Antwerp's 80 churches were built in the mid-19th century during attempts by the Roman Catholic Church to engineer a religious revival.

Father Jan, at the Sint-Willibrordus Church, conceded that the pews are "far emptier than 50 years ago".

A new solution for America's empty churches: A change of faith
Published 14th January 2020

Ashima Krishna is an assistant professor at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. The views expressed in this commentary are solely those of the writer. CNN is showcasing the work of The Conversation, a collaboration between journalists and academics to provide news analysis and commentary.
Over the past few decades, vacant and underutilized churches have become a familiar sight in American cities.
In some cases, a congregation or a religious governing body -- say, a Catholic diocese -- will sell the church to developers, who then turn them into apartments, offices, art galleriesmuseumsbreweries or performance spaces.
But what about churches in neighborhoods that aren't doing well, areas that are less attractive to developers looking to turn a profit?
In Buffalo, New York, two empty Roman Catholic churches were recently converted -- not into apartments or offices, but into other places of worship. One became an Islamic mosque, the other a Buddhist temple.

But several former Christian churches in Buffalo's East Side also now serve as sites of worship for other religions. Two mosques, Bait Ul Mamur Inc. Masjid and Masjid Zakariya, used to be Saint Joachim's Roman Catholic Church and Holy Mother of Rosary Polish National Catholic Church, respectively.

How nature's ancient technologies can inform today's cities
And two other formerly vacant churches that the Catholic diocese was struggling to sell were eventually sold. One, Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, was converted into a mosque, Jami Masjid.

Wall Street Journal: “Europe’s empty churches go on sale”

Naftali Bendavid of the Wall Street Journal has devoted a long article about the plight of religious heritage buildings in Europe. He has spoken to FRH council member Lilian Grootswagers as part of his research. Headlined “Hundreds of Churches Have Closed or Are Threatened by Plunging Membership, Posing Question: What to Do With Unused Buildings?” The article focuses on churches.

The former Roman Catholic Church of St. Joseph in Arnhem, Netherlands, one of hundreds of decommissioned churches, was turned into a skate park. Merlijn Doomernik for the Wall Street Journal.  [I suppose a skate park is better than a mosque.]

(…) Hundreds of churches, closed or threatened by plunging membership, pose a question for communities, and even governments, across Western Europe: What to do with once-holy, now-empty buildings that increasingly mark the countryside from Britain to Denmark?
Bendavid discusses some of the (controversial) re-uses found for these buildings
Unused churches are now a big enough problem to attract the attention of governments as well. The Netherlands, along with religious and civic groups, has adopted a national “agenda” for preserving the buildings. The Dutch province of Friesland—where 250 of 720 existing churches have been closed or transformed—fields a “Delta team” to find solutions.
“Every church is a debate,” says Albert Reinstra, a church expert at Holland’s Cultural Heritage Agency. “When they are empty, what do we do with it?” Preservationists say there often isn’t the money needed to create new community-oriented uses for the buildings.

America’s Epidemic of Empty Churches

A man walks inside an empty church in the Ninth Ward area in New Orleans CARLOS BARRIA / REUTERS
Three blocks from my Brooklyn apartment, a large brick structure stretches toward heaven. Tourists recognize it as a church—the building’s bell tower and stained-glass windows give it away—but worshippers haven’t gathered here in years.

The 19th-century building was once known as St. Vincent De Paul Church and housed a vibrant congregation for more than a century. But attendance dwindled and coffers ran dry by the early 2000s. Rain leaked through holes left by missing shingles, a tree sprouted in the bell tower, and the Brooklyn diocese decided to sell the building to developers. Today, the Spire Lofts boasts 40 luxury apartments, with one-bedroom units renting for as much as $4,812 per month. It takes serious cash to make God’s house your own, apparently.

Many of our nation’s churches can no longer afford to maintain their structures—6,000 to 10,000 churches die each year in America—and that number will likely grow. Though more than 70 percent of our citizens still claim to be Christian, congregational participation is less central to many Americans’ faith than it once was. Most denominations are declining as a share of the overall population, and donations to congregations have been falling for decades. Meanwhile, religiously unaffiliated Americans, nicknamed the “nones,” are growing as a share of the U.S. population.

Closure of Catholic and Protestant churches in Germany

The number of people leaving the church is far higher than those joiningit. The number of people resigning from the church reached a high pointin 1992 after German unification, when 361,256 people ceded theirmembership of the Protestant church and 1 92,766 quit the Catholicchurch. on top of this, since the mid-1970s, more church members areburied than baptised.

RELIGION POLL #3: Is Genesis Compatible With Science?

The part about removing a rib intrigues me. It sounds like genetic cloning/engineering.

Anaesthetized - opened up - removed a rib and stitched back up.

21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.

22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

Cloning?  With a few tweaks of the DNA?

23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
Cloning?  With a few tweaks of the DNA?

And one has to wonder why there was no woman compatible or "comparable" to begin with? Is this because as the Sumerian creation epic explains, that the first creation of male and female humans couldn't reproduce?

Why couldn't this almighty, all singing and dancing,  know-it-all, god simply create a fully functioning compatible female at the same time that he created the Adam? Why the all the intricacies of hours of a surgical operation and removing body parts?

Why didn't this god simply create the woman using the same procedure as he did when creating the man? Thus :

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" . <<That sounds pretty straight forward doesn't it? _ for a god

The total number of Christians worldwide is increasing, no matter what your illogical bias tells you.

Prove it! Prove that the practising Christian gains outweigh the decline of practising Christians.  You have not offered a single piece of evidence for any  your lying claims.

You claim "Jesus told us that the number of Christians would dwindle to almost nothing before He returned#8 ."  Well we all know that this is just a blatant lie.

You also claim that "The total number of Christians worldwide is increasing",  when the evidence proves and shows a MASSIVE decline in Christian numbers that are   admitted by non other than the CHRISTIAN churches themselves.   You are nothing but a compulsive liar .

Let's look a little closer at your claim again  shall we?

Jesus told us that the number of Christians would dwindle to almost nothing before He returned. This is as it should be, so Christians will not be surprised or made despondent by it. #8
If Jesus ever had spoken those words then his words are proving to be correct aren't they?  As both the Church of England (protestant ) and the Catholic churches themselves attest to "dwindling numbers" of Christenings/baptisms and their respective congregation attendances..

YET,  on the other hand, we have you are claiming that Christians and Christianity is growing in numbers and not "dwindling to almost nothing"  as the Christ - according to ONLY you -  predicted.  Do you see the little dilemma that your lies have created for you Einstein.

You just cannot accept that FACT!!!!!
Calm down loser. Your "fact" only means the C of E is declining, not that Christianity is declining.

And the Catholic Church too, as shown above,  but you skipped it as usual, That facts speak for themselves.  But you must have missed this from the Catholic church >> AGAIN

CATHOLIC NEWS SERVICE
Nov 15, 2019 Data compiled by the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Quebec shows the number of baptisms declined from 42,213 (of 88,933 births) in 2012 to 30,394 (of 83,900 births) in 2017. The figures represent a 28 percent decline in five years.

Crisis of faith
Every ten years the census spells out the situation in detail: between 2001 and 2011 the number of Christians born in Britain fell by 5.3 million — about 10,000 a week. If that rate of decline continues, the mission of St Augustine to the English, together with that of the Irish saints to the Scots, will come to an end in 2067.

I can show you regular church services of 5,000 people, and they have 2 services every morning.#13

Your attempts at damage control of the diminishing Christian church won't wash. This is simply not true. I know it is hard for you to accept but the facts speak loud. Islam now has a foot hold in almost every country in the world and it is being welcomed with open arms too by the leaders of those countries. No one is complaining about the burning down of churches in Europe - France in particular. The great fire of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris is not even spoken about these days and  although arson is suspected in some quarters, they "are still investigating"

Things do not become facts because you desire them fervently.

On the contrary. I don't want them to be true. I will take Christianity over Islam any day of the week you fool. BUT!!!!! The evidence in those  links that  I have provided were not written by me, were they? Are you saying that the facts as laid down by BOTH those Churches themselves are wrong and that the authors and designers of the graphs are lying about themselves, because this is what you are ignorantly suggesting.

Your example are only there because you get a kick from posting stupidity, like a little kid giggling at using a dirty word.

I didn't author or create those  FACTUAL examples. The Churches themselves compiled them out of concern for the dwindling numbers they are experiencing.. You just cannot accept that FACT!!!!!

AND I didn't take those photo's of these empty and dilapidated Christian Churches either.

Christian churches fall empty and become dilapidated daily  or are sold off or simply abandoned.

AND I didn't run a story about the dwindling numbers of the Christian congregation either. That shows devote Muslim willing to pray in the steet  while the Christian churches lay empty.

"One country, two religions and three very telling pictures: The empty pews at churches just yards from an overcrowded mosque".

  • Two photos show Sunday morning services in churches in East London
  • The third shows worshippers gathered for Friday midday prayers outside a nearby mosque
  • The difference in numbers could hardly be more dramatic.

Christians can be in decline in one place, and still be increasing over all. You're just too dumb and anti-theist to know this.

Yes they can. But do the growing numbers outweigh the dwindling numbers?  Or are you too dumb to realise that and work out the maths for yourself.

I didn't write this either:

Crisis of faith
Every ten years the census spells out the situation in detail: between 2001 and 2011 the number of Christians born in Britain fell by 5.3 million — about 10,000 a week. If that rate of decline continues, the mission of St Augustine to the English, together with that of the Irish saints to the Scots, will come to an end in 2067.

Compare :

Almost a tenth of babies and toddlers in England and Wales are Muslim, census figures show
The percentage of Muslims among the under-fives is almost twice as high as in the general population, according to a breakdown of census figures

Census figures reveal a ‘startling’ shift in Britain’s demographic trend with almost a tenth of babies and toddlers born in England and Wales being Muslim.
The percentage of Muslims among the under-fives is almost twice as high as in the general population. Less than one in 200 over 85s are Muslims – an indication of the extent to which birth rate is changing the UK’s religious demographic.
The Office for National Statistics produced the breakdown of Britain’s religions and age groups. The figures, according to the Times, were extracted from data collected in the 2011 census.
One expert said it was possible that Muslims who worshipped would outnumber practising Christians. “It’s not inconceivable,” said David Voas, Professor of Population Studies at the University of Essex.

Let us see your evidence for what you say "Jesus said". Or you can  simply stop with your blatant lies.

Or I could throw my pearls to swine. No thanks.

It is then as I knew, a complete fabrication. You just cannot help lying to further your cause can you?

Here is one example of the failing Christian church , you must have missed it:

The above statistic in the link  shows the number of baptisms performed by the Church of England from 2009 to 2017. During this period the number of baptisms has declined from 135 thousand in 2009 to just under 93 thousand by 2017.

This "example" is only for the church of England. The church of England is not Christianity.

Of course C of E  it is Christian, you fool! And it is decline.

*As is the Catholic church*.

"Decline in baptisms, marriages seen as harbinger, call to community".

The reception of the sacraments of baptism and marriage have declined dramatically in the archdiocese since 1961, according to statistics from the archdiocesan Office for Parish Service and Support.
While the Mass attendance figures were culled from the October count census performed every year since 1990, the figures on baptism and marriage stretch back much further. Together they present a long-term trend line that can be a valuable milestone to planning for the parish and institutional needs of the church in coming years.

"The data show there were 37,855 infant baptisms in 1961 in the 310 parishes of the archdiocese in that year. In 2018, the latest year available, 7,937 babies were baptized in 214 parishes — a 79% decline in the sacrament".

Decline in baptisms leads Quebec church to rethink children’s spirituality

Data compiled by the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Quebec shows the number of baptisms declined from 42,213 (of 88,933 births) in 2012 to 30,394 (of 83,900 births) in 2017. The figures represent a 28 percent decline in five years.

It's a similar story in the Catholic Church, although the major drop-off in baptisms happened between 1964 and 1977, when the number halved. There's been a far gentler downward trend over the past three decades, recently stabilising at about 60,000 baptisms a year".

Ok, but america could just as easily make those muslim countries allies.

Because they cannot be trusted . Remember Arafat after the Oslo Accord was signed?

"I see this agreement as being no more than the agreement signed between our Prophet Muhammad and the Quraysh in Mecca… The prophet had been right to insist on the agreement, for it helped him defeat the Quraysh and take over their city of Mecca. In a similar spirit, we now accept the peace agreement, but [only in order]to continue on the road to Jerusalem".

He was referring to Hudaibiyah, history buff.

Don't be silly. For a start, one is tolerant the other isn't. Have a guess which one isn't?
lol, no. Countless atrocities have been carried out for Christianity. Muslims were usually much more tolerant of other faiths inside their borders. Christians relentlessness attacked, suppressed or expelled religious minorities.

Interesting that you want to go back so far into the history of Christians where as at post #4 you make excuses Muslim slavery because "Muhammad lived over a 1000 years before Washington".  I believe I have told you before that on the matter of violence committed by Christian that nowhere in the New Testament will you find a single direct instruction from their god /Christ Jesus to go out into the world and covert anyone to Christianity by the sword and in is his or for his name sake. Where as in the barbaric quran there are verse after verse  of direct instructions from Allah the Muslim god and his prophet Muhammad to kill anyone not Muslim who refuses to convert. Would you like a few of those direct barbaric instruction from Allah and his prophet Muhammad?

Quran8:12 - "Iwill cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Thereforestrike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them".
Quran8:39
Andfight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all ofit, is for Allah. And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing ofwhat they do.

Muslims were usually much more tolerant of other faiths inside their borders

Muslims have never been tolerant anyone not  Muslim inside or outside of  their boarders.  since Muhammad had is "revelations" . Stop telling lies.

How's this for "tolerance"?

Quran 4:89 - Theywish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for thecause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill themwherever you find them and take not from among them any ally orhelper.

Quran 51 - You,who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally tothem among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them.

No, wrong again. One is about blind submission and the other isn't. Have a guess which one isn't?
well since they both are, there is no point in guessing.

Nice swerve but the fact is that the very word Islam means submit to the will of god. Can you show me the equivalent in Christianity?

Me neither, but you have ignored the uncomfortable  fact that blacks rounded up other blacks and sold them to the highest bidder.
i don't understand how I could ignore something that is completely irrelevant.

But you have. Unless it is a revelation to you that black African people rounded up other blacks African  people from enemy or inferior tribes and sold them into slavery.

No one is talking about building statues to them, so how could what they did be at all relevant to a conversation about statues?

You need to go back and look at what the subject of this thread  is about ?

Now, Rosenberg is leading the fundraising efforts for Black Lives Matter.

Never said that science or scientists believe Darwin to be racist

I know. You said  "If science believes what Darwin believed about' favoured races' then ,yes, science is racist".#4

we are all humans with the same blood the same DNA structure and only really minor differences in outward appearance.

I am glad you brought that up as it appears now, that here in the UK at least, Covid 19 favours killing black  people, yes you couldn't make it up could you? Authorities are seemingly saying that Covid 19 is racist.  If this indeed be the case ( I personally doubt it) this would make it genetic fault maybe? and suggest that we are not "all humans of the same DNA structure".

"Black people are more than four times more likely to die from Covid-19 than white people, according to stark official figures exposing a dramatic divergence in the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in England and Wales"

Christianity won't be # 1 much longer.
Another Christian iconic establishment falls to Islam .

July 10, 2020
Erdogan declares Hagia Sophia a mosque after Turkish court ruling.

Erdogan spoke on Friday just hours after the court ruling was published, brushing aside international warnings not to change the status of the nearly 1,500-year-old monument that is revered by Christians and Muslims alike.
The United States, Russia and church leaders were among those to express concern about changing the status of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, a focal point of both the Christian Byzantine and Muslim Ottoman empires and now one of the most visited monuments in Turkey.
Greece's culture ministry described the court decision as an "open provocation" to the civilized world, while UNESCO said it regretted it was not notified ahead of time and would now review the building's status.
Erdogan has sought to shift Islam into the mainstream of Turkish politics in his 17 years at the helm. He has long floated restoring the mosque status of the sixth-century building, which was converted into a museum in the early days of the modern secular Turkish state under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.  https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/erdogan-declares-hagia-sophia-a-mosque-after-turkish-court-ruling/45895294

His posts actually prove that he is aware of my point but can't address it, so he goes the usual dodge way.... "Not Yet!"
I am aware.

And it is the whole reason that I created this thread  addressing your point and countering it too. Your just to dumb to recognise that.  I haven't contradicted the fact - your fact - that Christianity  is the leading religion in the world - at this time.  But not for too much longer.  I have also addressed your question of why  it has lasted for over 2000 years on your own thread but you are pretending that you haven't seen my responses here... #77  here ....#79 and here with a little animated cartoon for the less educated and ignorant...#81

I have told you, Islam is replacing Christianity all over the world, the time of the Fish has gone and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.

Here is the proof.  And it is happening all over the world. And the only push back is coming from just a handful of countries

20013. 7 years ago and it is is much worse now.

But new converts in India, China, and Africa alone will keep Christianity at #1 for a long, long time.

I honestly would like to believe that. But Christianity is being out bred by Islam   in nearly every country in the world and  at a  rate of 14 to 1 in Britain alone. We can only hope that Islam reforms, but as I have explained many times here, Islam cannot reform, it " is the last - perfect & unalterable- word of god ", according to Muslims.

Jesus told us that the number of Christians would dwindle to almost nothing before He returned.

banning Mohammad is overtly religious act, while taking down statues of washington is just a political one.

religion is an ideology i.e. and idea, and in the case of Islam a very bad one.

Slavery was much better understood as an moral problem by the time washington was alive. Not to mention that chattel slavery tended to be much more brutal than the slavery used by many other societies.

Your arguments here are simply nonsense. Slavery is slavery no matter who or when. Muhammad / Muslims took white westerners as well as black people as slaves, shall we demolish  all mosques named after Islamic figures?  You just do not want to go so far back that it debunks your  argument. This is not to mention there are countries where slavery still exists China being one of them; should the Chinese embassy in the USA be burned down?

The silence from the left is deafening when it is put to them the fact that  black people from one tribe in African would round up black people from other African tribes and sell them to Muslims or anyone who wished to buy them.

Catholicism.

Indeed, Rome  accepted Christianity eventually as its state religion.  It would have petered out <<<see what I done there? - if  Roman Emperor Constantine hadn't pretended to have had  a vision that helped him to re-enforce his "numerically inferior army "with thousands of his new found friends called Christians. He had been crucifying them up until the day before his "vision".  It is interesting that Constantine didn't convert to Catholicism until he was on his death bed some 15 years after his supposed "vision".

If science believes what Darwin believed about' favoured races' then ,yes, science is racist.

Is survival of the fittest racist? Keeping in mind that fittest in the Darwin sense also meant mentally as well as physically  fittest.

And are you sure that "science believes what Darwin believed about' favoured races'" - and not favoured species?

Read Darwin's books and letters, it is clear he meant favoured races, it is even in the full title of his most famous book.

I have  read his book On the Origin Of Species, and I don't think that "it is clear". So why don't you  show us which science and scientist believe Darwinist or his work was racist?

Couldn't be that nature is "racist" in that it favours and dictates the fittest of any species ?

The first example you gave was hate speech tweeted out by one individual in 2016.

So? what's your point? It was also resurrected and re tweeted just recently.

Black Lives Matter does not have a UK chapter.

My, you are behind the times arn't you. BLMUK was created in 2016, and its cause has been given renewed attention following the US police killing of George Floyd.

And tell me then, where is this money going to if not to an organisation in the UK?>>

"Donations to Black Lives Matter UK and other groups top £1m. Funding floods in to groups including Black Minds Matter and Black Protest Legal Support

Black Lives Matter UK has said it is touched by people’s generosity after donations towards combating the causes and consequences of racism reached more than £1m.
By Tuesday afternoon, six days after launching a fundraising drive, Black Lives Matter UK (BLMUK) had raised more than £750,000. Money pledged to other groups, including organisations helping black people with their mental health, providing legal assistance for protesters and holding memorials for loved ones who have died from Covid-19, took the total figure to more than £1m.
A spokesman for BLMUK said: “BLMUK have been overwhelmed and greatly touched by the generosity of communities and individuals across the country. We have received messages from small villages and towns organising fundraisers, workplaces or community organisations and black parents desperately concerned about the safety of their children. The safety of the people protesting is our priority and we are working with other groups to ensure this.
BML is a vile self confessed Marxist organisation that wants to collapse and destroy society as we know it. And it uses other black people as puppets. It has been  duly noted that there was not a single "peaceful protest"  after those children were murdered while under the "protection and jurisdiction" of Chaz/ Chop autonomous zone!

Are you really that slow that you cannot work that out for yourself?  Once the seed of "Christianity" was sown - or in many cases  forced and inflicted onto some indigenous populations, it was simply passed on from generation to generation over 2000 years as is Islam. That is why it is #1... for now. In fact , simply being born of Muslim parents makes one "born" Muslim according to Muslims.. Christianity would have died a death had it not been for Rome making it its national religion. All to do with the Battle of the Milvian Bridge 28 October 312 AD .
