Before I watched this video, I was a normal person, and I thought the minimum wage was a good thing. However, I watched a podcast on JRE, and here'a clip of a specific section that caught my eye:

Now I'm kinda sitting on the fence. I'm trying to do my own research on this topic to learn more about it. What do you guys think?

Oh, and Peter Schiff - he's a leading economist that's in the top 1%, and was the few who predicted the 2008 stock market crash.

2 genders and sexes, no switching or in between. That's what some people believe.

Others say that there are 2 sexes, but more than 2 genders.

A couple weeks ago, Iran shot down a plane and killed like 57 Canadians. So should Trudeau have taken military action?

When I become leader...

I'll grow a smart and strong society, and wage war on Earth, and now I'm the leader of two planets!

When I become the leader of Mars (assuming Mars at this time is self sufficient), there will be no government. I'm assuming that the Mars population before I die will be no more than 1000, so no government is needed, we can all just come to consensus. We will all be useful people, and provide food to put out on the market, goods, and other services. Food and other necessities will be free, in fact, nothing costs anything. You want something, you get something. However, to make things fair, we must all contribute to society. You ask for a pair of shoes, someone makes shoes for you, and you grow crops for them, something like that. Friendship! The scientists back on Earth will send us monthly supply of necessities like new technologies, inaccessible resources, and perhaps new people once in a while). Then after the gravity issue is solved and we can start naturally reproducing; and after we become fully self sufficient, then we will declare our independence from Earth. I will give a famous speech that everyone on Earth will watch, and I will say something like "Screw you Earth! We don't like you anymore! You can die from global warming on your own!" We will cut off all supply from Earth (few exceptions), and officially be known as Martians.

After I die, we will remain isolated, and a small progressive and democratic government will be formed just to keep things on track. After the population hits 5000, the birth limit will be 2, stabilizing the population. The government's only job is to advance the society, hearing the wishes of the people, and reacting appropriately with a popular vote of over 75%. The society from the start will be all good people (thanks to me), so from the start, there will be no bad people. After the 5000 cap is hit, then a new city could be formed, 250 km away, with it's own government. The two governments will not work together, but will communicate their progress. Remember, the people have actual control here, and the government is here to only collect the public census.

This cycle will continue, and soon enough, but, we must remain the same species, so to avoid variation due to lower gravity, everyone will be wearing pressurized suits for the most part, and working out regularly.

What will you do if you become the leader of Mars?

She got nominated as the number one person this year.

But her campaign's a joke.

You see, she's cool and all, and her campaigns are not that bad, but she's not going to get anything done. She's just wasting her time out their.

Anyone want me to elaborate?

Britain's most likely going to exit the EU after what has happened recently (Boris Johnson).

I think this will be a terrible idea! However I haven't put much thought into it, so I could be wrong. You guys have a chance to change my mind this time.

What do you guys think bout Brexit?

I would argue yes. Technology is good.

I could literally recreate every single picture in milliseconds. I don't care about the fake "emotion" they put into it, or the amount of "skill" it takes to splash paint like a 2 year old.

Real art takes skill, and possibly weeks of painting.

Change my mind.

With the recent 5th debate airing a couple days ago, I formulated a new thought on the candidates...

Joe Biden
- seemed kinda dull this time
- forgot what he was going to say at one point

Cory Booker
- seems like a cool guy
- nothing special though

Pete Buttigieg
- He's actually pretty good
- I like the way he spoke

Tulsi Gabbard
- She's actually doing pretty good
- Still nothing special though...

Kamala Harris
- More of a emotional speaker
- Nothing special here

Amy Klobuchar
- kinda forgot she existed...

Bernie Sanders
- His ideas about government reform are so good
- Although he's a bit old...

Tom Steyer
- Climate change, cool
- Still new to the debate, but made a good impression

Elizabeth Warren
- Doing pretty good
- Although still nothing special

Andrew Yang
- Favourite candidate by far
Hope he gets more media coverage though...

Status Quo

Right now, the like button is this very small unnoticeable button in the far right corner.

It's easily dismissed.

What we can do

Would it be possible if we steal other forms designs, and make the button in the middle left hand side, and bigger?

This makes a lot of sense once you start thinking about it...

Here's the process:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Which teachers can be voted out?

---

If a teacher has sent:

Different Students            Total Number of Detention Slips

4                                       7
5                                       8
6                                       9

---

If the class average drops over 8% from the start to the end of the year.

---

At the end of the year, if a class' average is below 77%.

---

1/3 of the class gets below 60% on a unit test.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How will the votes work?

After any of the above requirements are met, the vote begins. A vote becomes successful after the below requirements are met.

---

All but a maximum of four students vote to fire the teacher,

and,

10 other students with the same teacher but different class vote to fire the teacher,

and,

2 staff members vote to fire the teacher

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guys, I think this is a pretty good start. Soon kids will be walking into Harvard like it's nothing. Any improvements?

Oh, and no offense to any teachers out here...

Should there be a mandatory requirement for people to vote let's say every 3 days?

And to make sure you actually voted thought fully, the character minimum should be 100 or something like that.

I don't know, it just seems that debates are deflating when it comes to votes...

What encourages people to vote?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Debate is fun, but it's not without votes. From now on, I'll be voting at least once per day, and you guys should do the same.

Is it just me, or are debates not getting enough votes?

Like, how in the world did I tie this debate????

And I'm sure it's not just me.

Is there a fix to this problem?

Most likely going to win: This is a tough one, I'm not so sure yet tbh. Warren and Biden seem pretty strong right now.

a) Judge a speech by your standards

b) Judge a speech by the best standards known

c) Judge a speech relative to the opponents speech

I'm really stumped on this one guys. So how should I judge a speech? Does it matter which one method I use, or is there a preferred way?

So growing up, I was participated in debate related activities, and through my 5 plus years of debate tournament experience, I've used one and only one style. But I'm wondering, does this apply to online debate, or more specifically, this website? Here's how I was taught debate format (adjusted for online debate).

- 3 rounds (6 speeches)
- each speaker goes once per round

Round 1:

Proposition introduces the topic, defines any necessary terms, and if needed, creates a fair and balanced model
Proposition will then move on into presenting his/her 2 contentions supporting the topic
Proposition then concludes/summarizes his/her speech

Opposition "clashes" with Proposition, pointing out all the mistakes or inaccuracies found in Proposition's speech
Opposition then states his/her 2 contentions going up against the topic
Opposition then concludes/summarizes his'her speech

Round 2:

Proposition clashes with Opposition, pointing out all the mistakes or inaccuracies found in Opposition's Speech (he/she could also reinforce what was previously stated)
Proposition will then move on into his/her final argument(s) supporting the topic
Proposition then concludes/summarizes his/her speech

Opposition clashes with Proposition, pointing out all the mistakes or inaccuracies found in Proposition's Speech (he/she could also reinforce what was previously stated)
Opposition will then move on into his/her final argument(s) supporting the topic
Opposition then concludes/summarizes his/her speech

Round 3:

Proposition clashes with Opposition, pointing out all the mistakes or inaccuracies found in Opposition's Speech (he/she could also reinforce what was previously stated)
Proposition summarizes his/her speech in total
No new information can be brought up

Opposition clashes with Proposition, pointing out all the mistakes or inaccuracies found in Proposition's Speech (he/she could also reinforce what was previously stated)
Opposition summarizes his/her speech in total
No new information can be brought up

END

So that's what a normal tournament debate is like for me. But what about this website? I can already see that some people follow this outline, but is that the preferred way, or is a more natural or restriction free style of debate preferred? Also, will there be any changes to the website in the future that requires a format to your speech (I'm not for or against a change, I'm just curious)?

In short, is there a preferred style to online debate, and if not, what are the possibilities that it could become a reality?

Thanks,
Dynamic Squid
