Prove you don't live in an echo chamber.

@ADreamOfLiberty
Those living in an echo chamber do not change their minds.  They are not objective,  They justify their positions because of the nature of the chamber.  Most religions..

I would add that people who like to categorize others as left/right, pro-anti, exemplify the dangers of echo chambers.  So I diasgree, the ability to change ones mind, based on new information and insight is an example of someone not living in an echo chamber.

What if I put it this way.   Have you changes your mind on something and lost friends over it?

Show how you have changed your mind on something, anything, that you never thought you would.

Here are a few of
1.  Trump.   I think he is a terrible person...  except for war.  I believe he is anti-war, and I could be convinced to vote for him on that basis alone.
2.  Tucker Carlson.  What a nut job, so I thought.  He really has some interesting and intelligent thoughts, especially in his twitter videos,
3.  Man buns...   They don't bother me anymore, I have just come to accept them.
4.  Pepsi vs Coke.   I was always Pepsi.   Now I am neither.
5.  Bill Gates.  I thought the guy pissed perfume and shit potpurri.  I have learned he is a megalomaniac, and not kind to humanity.

@Sidewalker
We can use math to determine where matter will go, and where it has been.  There is no free will in a newtonian physical sense.

Quantum mechanics  tells us that things are probabilistic, which also means that they are not directive.

Spiritually, I agree with Best.Korea that nurture is a huge influence.

So the question is...  If we could calculate everything at the same time, would everything actually be pre-determinable.  Let me have a beer and think about it.

This is the last time I will engage with you when you are trying  to be rude.

I said an indictment is an accusation without fact.

You said:

That’s not true at all. Indictments are the product of evaluating evidence, facts and testimony under oath.
Thereby it would be reasonable to infer that you consider a "testimony under oath" a fact.

There is no reason to be insulting.

Incorrect my friend.

Testimony under oath is not fact.  It is an accusation.  The arbiter of fact is a judge or jury depending on the circumstance in a trial.

No rational person would look at the facts alleged in the indictment and conclude otherwise.
Again, you undermine the process.  An indictment is an accusation without fact, or retort.  I argue that if one would "conclude" based on an indictment, they are part of the problem.  A complete and utter disrespect for the integrity of the legal system.

But what do I know.

Rugby is a better game than American Football
-->
@DavidAZ
Political protests in rugby are not unheard of.  Rugby players, particularly in countries like New Zealand and South Africa, have used their platform to raise awareness about issues such as racial inequality, but the scale of protest actions has been relatively limited.

That being said , the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa, was the first international sports copetition hosted by South Africa following apartheid. Nelson Mandela in particular wanted to use the games as a way to unite the country, with both blacks and whites on the national team, a tournament that South Africa ended up winning, beating the All Blacks.   Whites and blacks celebrated together.

I think we should also note that rugby has a different cultural context compared to American football, and the rugby itself does not have as deep-rooted connections to national identity and patriotism as a sport.  Even though you have many countries who have rugby as a primary corner stone, (New Zealand, South Africa,   Tonga, Samoa,). other countries also have rugby very high in their ranks, such as Ireland, France, England, Australia, Japan, etc. etc.  Because American Football, is just that, it makes it easier to have a protest that focuses on American issues.

The same would go for NASCAR,    The same would not go for Formula 1.   The national and cultural centric nature of the sport leads to a more effective protest opportunity.

Just some thoughts on it.

@Double_R
With respect your statement here shows a complete disregard for the integrity of the justice system. (emphasis added)

someone is as obviously guilty of committing a serious crime as is Trump, they should be prosecuted.
You  prosecute when you suspect someone of a crime.  Though it may APPEAR to be obvious, the arbiter of commission/guilt are the courts. Even if it APPEARS obvious there is guilt from the way we receive a story, or if the courts determine the defendant was the actor in the offence, the defendant still may not be GUILTY for a wide variety of reasons.  The Justice system is supposed to give individuals who are SUSPECTED of a crime, the opportunity to defend and say why they are not guilty.

I find it overtly hypocritical when people are calling for Trump to be prosecuted for "obvious crimes" in the name of "Justice", yet those same people ignore the fundamental principals of democratic jurisprudence.

Rugby is a game of immense skill, and thought.  You need to be able to change and adapt on the fly.  There is no coaching on a play by play, the players have to control.  You also have a culture of work hard, respect to the ref, and respect to the entire community.  It is also accessible to all ages, is very inexpensive to run, and safer.  There are olympics versions for it, and proper international competitions, like the Six Nations, and World Cup.  109 countries play rugby, and are ranked by World Rugby.

American football has nothing on it.

This is a friendly "debate", I will not respond to people who are rude.

The release of those photos most certainly impair the ability to obtain a fair trial.    In reality there are about 31 documents that are part of the charges.   Yet the photos show boxes and boxes.  Clearly a misrepresentation and an example of the DOJ playing media influencing games.  Clearly they are photos the DOJ don't want to use as part of the prosecution.

@ADreamOfLiberty
Very simple.   Limited copies of physical paper are far more secure.  You dont have the risks attached to computing systems.  You can be certain that only certain people have access.  CERTAINTY.  If there is one copy of a document, then you can control who sees it..  If there is no digital copy then you  eliminate data integrity issues (the document cannot be manipulated) Single Trusted Source.  You reduce digital security threats which could include unwanted destruction from an EMP. Many top secret programs are not digitized, and people like Manning and Snowden show us why.

Obvious Examples
a) the nuclear football, and the codes related thereto
b) designated survivor determination
c) state department cables that are designated print only.  Those cables automatically get printed and the original digital message is destroyed ass it is printed.  It is never sent as an entire digital package.

These are obvious examples. Speculating that encryption will solve is pointless because every system has vulnerabilities.  The biggest vulnerability is to future quantum computing.  Lets say I steal a bunch of files with an RSA 4096 encryption today.  Quantum computing  could develop to  the point that in 3 or 4 years, I can break that encryption.    So all encrypted files are vulnerable. That is many governments understanding.  And they act accordingly.

Oh and one more thing, the most obvious.  If there is no digital copy, then it is very hard to prove wrong doing, unless one can access the limited paper versions.

It's 2023. There are digital copies, and if there aren't digital copies it wasn't that critical was it?
There are many documents NOT digitized or retrained in digital format for security reasons.  You assumption is wrong.

@FLRW
@n8nrgim
@Best.Korea
The only reason Trump took the material was that he thought he could make money off of it.
With fairness, FLRW,  you do not know this.  An assumptive, all-in, definitive statement like that is pure inflammation and not a cohesive idea, or representative of fact.  So let's reign it into facts, and reasonable thoughts.

n8nrgim,  You have unfairly concluded guilt. The foundation of the criminal system is about a fair trial, and the presumption of innocence, and a predetermination of guilt is not contiguous with the principals of justice..

I agree with Best.Korea, all presidents commit crimes.  Truman, Johnson, Nixon, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama...  all war crimes.   Nixon for his Watergate, Clinton for his obstruction...  Then when you look at mismanaging classified information, we have Hillary, Trump, and Biden, when he was VP.    We could be here all day, on both sides of the political spectrum.  However the actual guilt needs to be determined through a fair process.

I am not a Trump fan.   I think he is a pathological narcissist, with no moral compass, and only focused on his own wants.  Regardless, I believe the DOJ's focus on Trump is disproportionate.  The process also makes it nearly impossible for Trump to get a fair trial.

With respect to the documents retained by Trump, and the criticality of them, we are never going to know if there was a real national risk attached, because they are classified.  This gives the Government a near unfair advantage in their prosecution efforts.  We see this issue in the Guantanamo related trials.

As a society, and on this site, there is a growing polarization, assumption, and a loss at appreciating the fundamentals of a bigger picture. I hope we can fix that.  Those are my thoughts.

Freedom of Speech vs Censorship
I think censorship should be limited to trolling, possibly by report volumes, and on its face offensiveness, again by report volumes.  There is a reason why a 9-0 Supreme Court ruling is hard to get, because everyone interprets things differently.  That gives me great pause to censor, because something offensive to me, may be comedic, or politically important to another.

Can math prove things with 100% certainty?
a = 1, b = 1

(a-b)(a+b) = 0
(a-b)(a+b)/(a-b) = 0/(a-b)
1(a+b) = 0
(a+b) = 0
1 + 1 = 0 (Hence, 1+1 not equal to 2). Thoughts?

Another Major Failure for Elon Musk
I will add that from 1957 - 1975 NASA had 50 "failures" where spacecraft were destroyed, or  failed in their objective.

The SpaceX was a test.  That is what it was called, and that is what they did.  If you watched the launch they even comment it is a success if the thing gets off the ground.  It was at the Stage 2 jetison that something happened with telemetry.  The rocket is suppost to go horizontal for a brief period and that is where  things went sideways.

To jump up and down and clap as this is a "hahahahahaha" moment to Musk is very childish.    There are nearly 10k employees at SpaceX.  I guess you are giving a laughing middle finger to all of them as well.
