We actually still have enough time for that. As much as it risks giving scum more info, if that is preferable to lynching a miller, than we can go for it.

In future, please don't name specific other users in this type of post without their permission.

That said, this is otherwise not a callout thread as defined within the CoC: "Creating threads to call-out specific users qualifies as targeted harassment, as does obsessive attempts to derail unrelated topics with impertinent grudges. However, criticising statements within an ongoing discussion, is fair game."

This thread seems like a joke, which the new CoC allows people to do so long as it does not cross the line too much or too often.

Really sounds like Speed meant to use Drafter's list, then realized he had drifted slightly off of it. So yeah, I believe Supa and Intelligence are a town pair.

Chris says he is going to make a bigger post in the morning, so no need to rush anything.

If it's using Drafter's list, then Supa is lying (and I'm mistaken on Ronnie being Intelligent... pun intended)

This could make sense. In the show Stein needed to find someone to bond with after the loss of Ronnie (who literally died due to a spinoff show needing someone more available).

However, if it's using Drafter's list, would Supa be most likely to pick Intelligence as opposed to say Drafter or Lunatic?

Ragnar's reads look like Chris's mafia analysis and oromagi's debate arguments had a baby, but I don't think that's significant.
#113 was an experiment. I am not sure if I'll continue it or not. It might be easier to keep track of different lines of reasoning, but I'm not sure yet. ... Damn I wish we could do tables on these forums.

I will say that it is going better than when I did an experiment of debate voting just quoting people... That got tiresome about five minutes into it.

@Lunatic
Mainly his role claim justification doesn't feel right on a game without a theme split.
You've lost me here. The lack of the theme split should mean we should care even less about the justification.
He's evil but with a heart of gold, doesn't hold to me since we can have villains be town and still be investigated as town. Further, the character isn't misunderstood, he went on a murder spree over being friend zoned by his ex; that people don't like him for that, doesn't mean he's misunderstood, it means he wants to whine about the consequences of people understanding him all too well.

@Lunatic
Are you suggesting a policy lynch on him for being a miller?
No, even while acknowledging a miller will automatically be suspect throughout the game, so should not be sent into the final rounds (if it came down to 3 players, and one is a miller, we've probably lost).

Mainly his role claim justification doesn't feel right on a game without a theme split.

Arrowverse Mafia - DP1
Reads:

1. skittlez09 (heavily leaning scum, natural value) - Savitar the Incel
  • Claims miller, with early ID that suggests town (Supa points out he always claims first thing #26).
    • Could be mafia gambit, either way, we'll be forced to lynch eventually.
    • Role claim doubted:
      • Could be information due to actions in show #12.
      • Could be ninja due to defining characteristics between show and justification #21 (I'm leaning toward this with the talk of his kills).
  • I may be letting my dislike for that character and stupid plotline influence me.

2. drafterman (slight scum lean, high value) - ???
  • Leads bandwagons, but does good analysis.
  • Notably targeted Skittlez early (if he flips scum, I'll put Drafter firmly in my town pile; otherwise I'll maintain a little caution)

3. oromagi (no read, high value) - Breadcrumbman!
  • No notable posts yet, but does the dashboards which I depend on.

4. SupaDudz (neutral read, slight value) - ???
  • Questions the theme analysis.
  • Proposes that if scum Skittlez is following a script with a veteran #55.
  • Denies knowing what WIFOM is (I believe him, I am just surprised after this many games...).

5. Intelligence_06 (leans scum, slightly negative value) - ???
  • Hops on a bandwagon with no stated reason #24, then denies hoping on it #49.
    • I lean scum on this, as that type of worry and re-thinking actions is more what I do when mafia.
  • Convinced he's identified Drafter's role, and tries to out him... WTF? ...
    • Oh and yes, sorry for creating the confusion with a minor typo in the unofficial vote count. If a double voter were in play, even the official vote counts would probably list them just once, until things suddenly end early at 4 votes instead of 5.
  • If town, very impulsive. If scum, braggy in a bad way.

6. Lunatic (no read, slight value) - ???
  • Able to call out Intelligence for wagoning, and does a pretty good analysis post #61.
  • Responsive when tagged.

7. MisterChris (neutral read, slight value) - ???
  • Very fast to back up Skittlez claim with research #9. However, we don't need to wave guns at each other any time anyone says anything.
  • Personality seems non-combative but willing to talk, which can be a boon to town (as opposed to everyone being angry jerks).

8. SirAnonymous (neutral read, neutral value) - ???
  • Fast to catch mistakes #90. Nothing else yet.

I show up after he does, but he's last. Okay then.
Embarrassingly, I think I got you and Intelligence confused; which caused me to mistake his activity level for you having checked in.

I mean, that or Lunatic and I are doing a scum gambit really really early.

Is Sovitar "misunderstood"? Does that make sense as a character trait to bring out?
Here's a 2 minute summary of the character: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVmXsBNfwHY

In all seriousness, I don't think the character is misunderstood. Iris dumped him, so he got a new suit and murdered her while whining about not being understood; which is not the same thing as actually being misunderstood. He's basically a speedster Incel.

I'm inclined to interpret a character who is known for killing is a killing role in this game.
My character has killed plenty of people but I lack a killing role.

Not sure about the show but in the comics he literat had a ninja cult. Lol
In the show he had Draco Malfoy as his boyfriend who's body he "stole." I think there was something of a larger cult, until the writers forgot about that...

I'm more likely to believe the character claim due to the no theme split. However, as someone who dislikes Emo Barry (his ex-girlfriend didn't want to go poly, so he decides to murder her...) I think Skittlez09 is more likely an investigative role, given that he was largely defined by reading Barry's mind to know what he was doing.

Also, no theme split. This intuitively harms the credibility of someone claiming to be a Miller for being a villain with a heart of gold.

I wish Communism actually works
Granted, but sadly it already works well to oppress the people trapped inside of it.

I wish God does what is good to everyone, and can prevent sins from going into humans
Granted, but at the price of free will and meaning to life. We sit around doing nothing but being perpetually happy until we swiftly die.

I'll make a wish that can't backfire. I wish for a turkey sandwich, on rye bread, with lettuce and mustard, and, AND I don't want any zombie turkeys, I don't want to turn into a turkey myself, and I don't want any other weird surprises.

From the CoC:
Creating threads to call-out specific users qualifies as targeted harassment

This thread shall remain locked. However, the target of the thread has expressed desire for it to remain up as a future point of reference, so I will not delete it at this time. ... For clarity, while it is indeed a CoC violation, a warning seems sufficient to curtail the behavior (especially considering the OP owned up to their mistake in their third post).

The core problem of this could have been avoided by just asking the targeted user for permission before starting the thread.

Right now I do suggest you each give each other some space.  Hopefully you can both at least mostly ignore each other (moderation would not intercede if either of you like each others posts for example), without the need for an official restraining order.

Nice one on the Robin Williams.

As for your wish... It turns into rainbows and puppy dogs, but also strangely morphs reality of whatever you're joking about into the same... Replacing innocent people into short lived rainbows and puppy dogs (no not with cancer, losing mental faculties to be replaced by dogs is already enough!).

Hall of Fame II

Pursuant to the first Hall of Fame election process, the following are inducted into the DebateArt.com Hall of Fame:

-- Users --

oromagi

He’s undefeated at 88 wins and counting. His style of debate is well-organized and logical, yet also interjected with some humor. This has allowed him to reach a rating nearly 200 points ahead of his nearest rival. But more than just being a good debater, he is a good person. This combination of formidable debating skills and an approachable friendliness should earn him a place in the Hall of Fame.
          -SirAnonymous

Ragnar

Ragnar has been my model for online debating since he handed me my first debate loss back in 2013.  A US immigrant who served our country as a medic under fire in Iraq with the 82nd (“DEATH from ABOVE”) Airborne division, Ragnar has earned my admiration and gratitude far above and apart from any website participation but I believe that history and strength of character is evident in his leadership here among our little company of madmen and malcontents.  He is not just a paragon of persuasion, he is also an composer of crystal clear prose.  He is not just a moderator, he is also moderate and fair-minded and restrained in wise opinion.   After our losses in leadership late last year, Ragnar stepped up into the breach to preserve the legitimacy and quality of debates on this site and remains the strongest arch upholding the leaky roof that is our voting policy.   In fact, he’s just weeks away from becoming our all time top voter.  For his humor, keen reason, good sportsmanship, even-handed leadership and easy friendship, Ragnar is most worthy of this elevation to DebateArt’s Hall of Fame.
          -Oromagi

SupaDudz

A fun user with almost unlimited energy, this guy is #1 in the forums at almost 10,000 posts. Jesus Christ. He is also a talented debater and a valued advisor for the mod team. In many ways, Supa’s energy keeps the site going.
          -MisterChris

Also earned a poem about why he should be in it from oro: https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/4681/post-links/194599

-- Debates --

Resolved: The US should institute congressional term limits

This was an intense debate between two incredible debaters that ended up being one of the hardest decisions I have had to make as a judge. As someone who has had the pleasure of debating bsh1 twice before, he brought his best to this debate, and I was impressed to see blamonkey rise to the challenge. These are two debaters for whom I have a great deal of respect, and they put on a clinic in a debate that rivals the best I have read on both DA and DDO. This is well worth the read for anyone who wants to see the best the site has to offer.
         -whiteflame

Legalized Abortion

This is an odd one, since it offers no middle ground (without exception all abortions legal or illegal, when the issue is clearly not black and white like that).
Still, while being short it manages to offer good value for research of the sides, to include an interesting chicken egg analogy.
Plus it is argued well enough that even a feminist like me ends up favoring con on the strength of arguments presented.
         -Ragnar

Is Jesus the Messiah?

While drilling down to one core issue, this was possibly the most in depth religious debate we’ve had. The educational value of this debate cannot be overstated.

DART Bard, 1st Edition, 1/3/2020
SirAnonymous

The DART Bard, created by the user, SirAnonymous, seems like a normal DramaAlert esc news source discussing the topics. However, when you read it, it is much more than just that. SirAnonymous creates fictional character’s to relay the news to the people of DART in each characters own unique way. The DART Bard is extremely well written, comical, and most importantly, gives you the news going on in DART. This piece of work is always funny and informative, leaving the users of DART craving for another edition everytime! This thread would eventually become a Hall of Fame thread, and I am glad it was nominated sooner rather than later.
         -SupaDudz

I will stereotype debaters properly.
RationalMadman

It’s just too much fun, and could be picked back up at any time.
         -Ragnar

DEBATE ART TOURNAMENT ROUND ONE
Bearman

Despite being a relatively new user, BearMan has established his value to the site very quickly; and this thread is just another proof of it. Organizing and executing a tournament is an immense task, and BearMan and the voters (Ragnar and Whiteflame) have outdone themselves in making sure it goes smoothly. Not only was this a fun and unique idea, but it also had ramifications for the site as a whole. Before the tournament, debate activity on the site had grinded to a near halt. But as soon as it kicked off, DART saw a massive influx of debate activity and new, energetic users. While probably not the sole cause, this thread (the one that started it all) has certainly earned some credit.
         -MisterChris

-- Misc.--

Ragnar is the natural alpha male of this website.
RationalMadman

It is certainly interesting to see unorthodox discussions about our site’s users(especially in a positive light), with battles that intend no serious harm whatsoever.
         -Intelligence_06

BrotherDThomas’ performance art
BrotherDThomas

Seriously, love him or hate him, BrotherDThomas is probably the highlight of the religious forum... Which probably confirms me as a pseudo-christian needing to be bible-slapped silly™ for talking about him instead of Jesus!
         -Ragnar

I can’t help but enjoy reading his posts. They are the perfect level of over-top-ness.
