I mean, it would save more people than medicare for all and the rights of a murderer or rapist in this instance shouldn't matter.  I doubt I will be around too frequently since its hard to be on DART, but what are the thoughts around this idea?  Seems like a pretty good idea to me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkWsz8HZMi8 shows someone up in the sky.  People say it's Mary.  It could be anyone, but it seems to be a sign that God exists after all.  Thoughts?

I mean, if your really Chistain, and if you really think that God is all knowing and all loving, should you let him make the laws of Christian countries?  Given that most of America is Christian, wouldn't it make sense for true Christians to accept theocracy?

I mean, if heaven really is more important than this world, shouldn't true Christians accept theocracy, no matter how much it screws this world over because the afterlife is infinite times more intense and as long of a life than the one here?

I think if God exists, he can't meet all the 4 As(All present, all powerful, all knowing, all loving).  I don't know if it even states in the bible that these characteristics are true, and if it does state them in the bible, then it could just be God being metaphorical.  If he's metaphorical on some other things, then why wouldn't he be metaphorical on claiming to meet the 4 As?

I see veganism as consistent pro life ethic.  It is good for your health, it's good for the planet, it's something we'll have to do in order to increase the carrying capacity to 10 billion people.  Currently, it's at 2.5 billion.  It also saves billions of animals per year.  If we can force a huge amount of pain on a woman to save 1 life, it seems consistent to forgo a slight amount of flavor that lasts only 5 seconds (and even this is upgraded with good vegan products) to encourage veganism.

What are your thoughts on this?

The battle of ideas.  I may play Devil's advocate for either side, but I'm currently against it for everyone, unless you get it from a scholarship, then you earned it, so it's fine.  I don't want people graduating from college with debt though, so my plan to get consenting people educated is to:

1) Show them where good paying jobs are that only require a HS degree.

2) Let them save and invest enough money from that job to earn their college, so they take it more seriously.

3) They earn their degrees, debt free, and they get better jobs on their own.

I know this person who was right wing solely because of his stance on the death penalty.  I'm like, "there are other issues".  The death penalty is such a small issue.  It affects very few people compared to the others and the murderer is going to get treated bad either way.  I would consider the death penalty to be less of an issue than say abortion or medicare for all or weed or trade deals.  Why do some people value/are against the death penalty so badly?  As a math person, it's such a small issue.

Hello.  I am doing a presentation on gun control for school.  My current position is that all guns should be legal, from muskets to AR 15s and AK 47s.  So called, "assault weapons" barely kill anyone.  Your more likely to die from a lightning strike than you are to die from an "assault weapon" statistically.  Yet no one advocates for more research done to prevent humans from dying from lightning.  Yet plenty of people talk about banning "dangerous" weapons they think are dangerous, even though dying from them is more rare than dying from lightning.  Yet, people are more scared of dying from an AR 15 because of the corrupt liberal establishment news.

I also don't believe in mandatory background checks.  This is actually because of a left wing talking point that criminals can get a 2nd chance.  If you don't think they are fixed up from the criminal justice system, they should get jailed even more until they are fixed.  If they have a history of mental illness that makes them want to shoot someone, they should get put into a mental institution, banning guns for them would make them get guns illegally or another weapon legally.  Prisoners in jail shouldn't have guns, but once they are out of jail, their punishment should cease, from getting jobs to getting AR 15s.

I also don't believe that all guns should be locked up so a kid can't get them, largely because they don't use the gun to shoot someone.  In my house, there are knives and they are out in the open.  Any kid at any time has the ability to get a knife and use it to kill someone.  Many other households are like this.  Do we have mass stabbings in houses on the scale of millions of stabbings?  No.  Just as most people don't stab each other, most don't shoot each other when things are out in the open.

Freedom is dangerous as hell but I love it.

Thoughts DARTers?

I don't see what's wrong with consensual prostitution if regulated, although I'm personally waiting until marriage and if that happens, that I'm being monogamous, but let people live their lives on this.

As a pro lifer, mandatory vasectomies worldwide I think as of right now isn't a bad idea.  You guys may think I'm joking, but I'm not.  It would reduce the number of worldwide abortions by 40 million per year.  Africa's and Latin America's abortion rate has barely been going down, and their pro life laws haven't been working in eliminating abortions, plus the people there haven't been using birth control which isn't really 100% effective.  Since they won't be abstinent, I guess well have to make vasectomies mandatory worldwide if we wish to eliminate over 90% of abortions worldwide.

Vasectomies are reversible when the couple is ready to have kids and the fact that they cost money would prevent poor people form having kids, therefore reducing worldwide poverty drastically.

So the pros to mandatory vasectomies worldwide are:

-An end to the vast majority of abortions.
-A reduction in overpopulation.
-Less poverty worldwide, since low income people can't afford to get the vasectomy reversed, therefore they have less kids without abortions.

What are your thoughts DARTers?

My top 5 most important issues are:

1) The US debt: Must be eliminated.

2) Immigration: Open borders.

3) Taxes: Abolish all federal taxes and replace them with a sales tax and a capital gains tax.

4) Military: Make military spending 2% of our GDP.  Right now, it's at 3.7%.

5) Abortion: Pro life beyond the point of cell specialization (around 5 weeks).

Also, this is my 100th topic, so I am a happy camper.

This is a poll that I plan on conducting for 10 days ish.

Q1: Should the death penalty exist for any crimes?

Q2: If your answer to Q1 is Yes, to what crimes?  If your answer is No, then what is your desired alternative punishment for murder?

Justifications are allowed.

My response:

Q1: No

Q2: Life in jail without parole and every 3 months, and the murderer has to donate 480 ml of blood to save 2 more people, 4x per year.  This way, the murderer saves more lives than they took, and since murderers tend to want to kill as many as possible, knowing they can't succeed with this if they are forced to save way more others, it would I think reduce the homicide rate drastically.

1/3 of people want to become immortal.  I am one of them.  I never want to die.  I think Singularity agrees with me on this.

There is the fear of aging, but with technology, aging can be reversed.

Any other cons to getting consenting humans to be immortal?

It seems as if there is something wrong with every church.  The only true Christian died on the cross.

The Catholics, apart from doing something that I think is mary worship, have a sex abuse scandal that the pope does not much about.

The unitaritarians are too liberal for God.  They are all about accepting sin, rather than rehabbing those who have done sinful things.

The evangelicals are too conservative for God.  They reject undocumented immigrants, which is not very christian.

I think every Christian should be an independent Christian from a religious standpoint, so they can think for themselves on the bible.

I think polygamy should be regulated in the US.  BoP rests on those who wish to take people's freedom away.

The justification:

-It is religious freedom since some people's religion allows them to marry multiple people.  Some non religious people would also do it because they want to.
-It is not for everybody, but it is for some people.
-It enables smarter people to marry more people, and as a result, they can produce smarter kids, making a better society not just from genetics, but because smarter people raise smarter kids by teaching them how to become smart.
-It can solve the STD epidemic in the US if we require polygamous people to get their STDs treated before they go polygamous.  From there, if it greatly reduces STDs, then there would be less STDs as well as a huge creation of jobs because people would be treating the STDs.
-It requires the enthusiastic consent of all spouses.

Now onto rebuttals that I thought of:

-The claim that it would cause crime rates to go up.  In societies where the crime rate is higher, this is because of poverty and not the legalization of polygamy.  Moreover, Ethiopia, where polygamy is banned, has a comparable murder rate to the average of it's neighbors which have legalized polygamy.  In western Africa, countries that banned polygamy have a higher murder rate than countries that legalized it.

Pro's to increasing the legal age of drinking to 25:

-The brain is fully developed at 25.
-50 percent of rapes happen under the influence.  Raising the age will be good for women.
-It will tare down on drinking and driving, saving lives and reducing insurance costs.

Anyone who drinks between 21 and 25 should get a $1000 fine.  If they can't afford it, then they would go to jail for a week.

Thoughts DARTers?

The minimum wage ought to be $0.00.  A minimum wage worker can and should find a better job that doesn't require a college degree.  There are hundreds of options that a poor person has instead of a minimum wage job.  This gives them a higher salary that they earned.
